Franklin is trying to find something very special for his mother. He goes around asking friends for suggestions, but the answers he gets are things that he does for his mother already. So he decides to do them all and make her a card. On her birthday, he uses the 4 best words a parent can hear. “I love you Mom”. That’s what she really needed.
The story is simple and true. I like it.
I think my Franklin days with my nephew are over. He thought this book was silly and slow. I asked him if he gives his mom good things and he thought he did. I told him grief doesn’t count, but it went over his head. He is in a special place being 6 right now and he has a lot of attitude. He gave this 2 stars.
As always, this Franklin book delivers a beautiful message and a tender moral. I love the way Franklin's parents use such great wisdom to guide little Franklin. We can all learn from these books!
This is a sweet story in the Franklin the Turtle series by Paulette Bourgeois. I'm not sure why we never really got into this series (after all, we love turtles!) Now our girls are getting a bit old for stories like this, so I'm not sure how many more we'll read.
I found this book available in an ebook version through our local library and I decided that I would read it, even if our girls weren't interested. To my surprise, our girls were willing to let me read it to them, and even though it's probably best for younger children, I was happy to see that they enjoyed the story as much as I did. I loved giving our girls kisses and hugs throughout the story.
The illustrations are cartoonish and colorful and the narrative is short and engaging. I will certainly look for more ebooks in this series, even if I have to read them on my own.
It's Franklin's mother's birthday and he wants to make it an extra special one. So, he goes to all his friends and asks them how they let their mothers know they love them. While all good ideas, Franklin can't decide which one to use, so he does them all. In the end, he discovers the best and easiest way to let someone know you love them is just to say it.
Franklin searches for what would make the best birthday present for his mom. After talking to each of his friends, he finally comes up with a wonderful idea!! Very sweet story.
Franklin says I love you is about Franklin wanting to get his mother the perfect birthday gift. There are so many things that his mother has done for him. He says that he has the best mother there is. He goes to all of his friends asking for ideas for gifts. Franklin decides to make his mother many gifts but the greatest gift of all is hearing “I love you” from Franklin.
The overall theme of Franklin I love you is that its the little things that count and that possessions aren’t important in life.
When I read Franklin I love you it made me think of my own life. Every year at Christmas or at my mom's birthday I strive to find the perfect gift that is different than the ones given previously. I thought that it was precious that at the very beginning Franklin described his mother and all the things that she has done for him. It shows that there is meaning in everything that a mother does for her family.
I would recommend this book because it deals with the aspect of family, love, worth and appreciation. It can teach a child that you don’t have to go above and beyond in possessions for a mother to feel loved. I believe that if children understand the concept of giving when they are at a young age, then they will be givers as they get older. It also shows the love of a mother.
Tetangganya adq bear, snail, beaver, and goose. Ilustrasinya juga cakep banget🥰
I think this would be a good choice of book for a child whose struggling with saying I love you, showing affection for others, or you just want to discuss how to show someone you love them on their birthdays. A cute easy read.
Entretenido y tierno. Ideal para la lectura infantil.
This children's book is a good way to show a positive family relationship. It is relatable because many young children love making their parents presents for their birthday's, but when the child gets old enough they sometimes want to do something different and more creative than what they have been doing before. When I read this story I remembered making my mother a present when I was little, and I am sure many children think the same thing while reading this book too. This book is appropriate for kindergarten and first graders as an independent read. The whole point of the story is to recognize family love and relate to it in that way.
"Franklin Says 'I Love You'" is about a turtle named Franklin who tries to think of a what he could give his mother for her birthday. He asks his friends for ideas. Then he decides what he is going to give her and she loves it. This book mostly has the colors green and yellow which gives a happy tone. There is a lot of white space around the texts. This helps the reader focus on what is going on in the story and pictures. I would have a child read this book so they could learn that money cannot show love. I think this book would be appropriate for a child who can read well.
This is a good mother's day book, as well as a good book to show appreciation, not only towards mothers, dut others as well. It also focuses on the concepts of kindness and giving.
Such a heart-warming story (plus marvellous illustrations) about what love really is! My mom used to read these books to me when I was younger, but this morning I decided to read that one to her and it took us back to the good old days of my childhood.
