What a wild ride
Tiana did it again. This is another five-star book! I was engrossed in this story from beginning to end. Ms. Laveen knows how to tell a story about a complicated subject.
I just love Phoenix Hale "the Dragon". He came off hard and tough at the beginning of the story. He's a tough man with a tough job who gets the job done, no matter how difficult. He did not seem to be affected by Tiffany McCall's feminine allure at first. It was not until he realized that she was so much more than a drug dealer and did not do what he thought she did. He did not allow himself to think about her captivating aura.
Tiffany, on the other hand, wanted to do what was necessary to survive the Dragon's torture. Once broken, this complicated woman came to understand she was getting a do-over in life and was determined to do her life right with the man she came to understand and love. Tiff was the perfect woman for the Dragon and he was not going to let her go. He wanted his HEA, as did his mother for him.
I really enjoyed reading this story. I did not want to see it end. I can easily see more stories written about the Dragon and his Black Butterfly.Tiana did it again. This is another five-star book! I LOVED this story because Tiffany (the heroine) is no weak woman. Not only is she street smart but she's also a genius, loyal, a ride or die, and most importantly, she was respected. Some of these books I come across, the main female characters makes me so mad. Tiffany is no dumb woman. She definitely held her own.
Um, so where can I find a "Phoenix Hale"? He was playing no kinds of games when it came to his love!
Be warned...this book is not for the faint of heart. Did I already say that I LOVED this book? 🤔☺️

Only Tiana can pair and make it plausible, a drug dealer and the head of all sorts of DEA agencies!!
Tiffany and Phoenix...two peas in a pod! Both strong, both leaders, both Badass at what they do!
My goodness....your childhood is so relevant in how you turn out. Everything can be hunky dory one minute, and turn on a dime the next. Tiffany accepted her role in her illegal dealings but she kept receipts in case things went left.
Both were loyal and not above dealing with people who weren't...RIP Clark 😉.
A true Laveen masterpiece....thank you for adding to my growing list of book boos.

3.5 - I enjoyed this one, not my favorite Tiana Laveen book, but still a good one. I had some suspension of disbelief issues and once the feelings amped up between our heroes it happened kind of fast.

Awesome read, Phoenix...met his match in Tiffany
This is my review and how I see it. Author Tiana Laveen's Chasing the Dragon is another awesome read. I love how she breaks down her book(s) before you can delve into the meat the very heart of the story. Chasing the Dragon is not for the weak of heart or mind.
I love how this story took two of the least likely people and brought them together in love and mutual respect. Sure their relationship got off to an intensely rocky start, once they got past all that Phoenix Hale showed you what type of man he was and Tiffany is his match in every way. Girl graduated summa and magna cum laude from CYA University.
I was not disappointed in reading this book, it is a mature content read. Is there a real Phoenix Hale out there? If yes, come find me. (Warning...you must exhibit all characteristics of the real Phoenix Hale. Imposters need not apply!) If you cannot deal with adult content and things that go on in real life, stay in your glass bubble. This book is not for you.
I still say Tiffany should have throat punch Cora.

Another Winner!!!!
I never know what to expect when I crack open a Tiana Laveen's book but I know it's going to be good. The dialogue is true to the characters and storyline; so much that you feel as if you know these people.
Phoenix "Dragon" Hale is a badass operative, ruthless, diabolical and sexy as hell. Tiffany " Butterfly" McHall was a drug dealing mastermind. When his best friend was murdered, he was out for revenge and he was out for blood.
Their meeting was so unorthodox since she was taken prisoner by Phoenix. How does such a meeting morphed into a sizzling romance? Only a few authors could pull this off and Tiana is one of those. I highly recommend reading this story.

CHASING THE DRAGON - TIANA LAVEEN
READERS DELIGHT!
Once again I am invited into the mind of Tiana Laveen via her unique ability to spin a unique tale of love; and per usual I find myself thrown into a labyrinth of twisted paths of enjoyable allure. Uniqueness is something that I have become to expect each and every time I pick up a book penned by this special author and she never fails to deliver.
As I delve into this storyline, I find myself submerged into the plot immediately because Tiana leads me into the very heart of her genius by so vividly describing the surroundings the characters happen to be in each and every moment. I find myself immersed in the emotions her characters are subjected to during their time spent in the environment which she creates for their development; an intriguing development which leads me to grow with them. Tiana forges an attachment between her fictional characters and her readers because her heart and soul has been poured into them and that same heart and soul spills out and runneth over into the the hearts and souls of anyone who allows themselves to just feel!
Feeling the emotions and dealing with the consequences of the affect of them upon my reader's palette is a very enjoyable and bonding experience; all brought about by the unflappable and unrepeatable influence of the writing abilities of one Ms. Tiana Laveen. When she creates a situation whereby her characters hearts are beating out of their chests; my heart races also. When she creates a scene whereby he character is inebriated with calculated coldness, this reader becomes the epitome of calm, cool and collected. Tiana opens herself to us each time she writes a storyline, and by doing so allows her readers to not only take part in but to mentally interpret the reasons for the actions her characters take to arrive at fulfilling and intriguing ends.
Plainly put, Tiana does not write about emotions, she allows your emotional involvement to evolve with the turning of each page. The amazing journeys she creates for our reading enjoyment are so realistic that one can easily forget the reality of our own personal surroundings until she deems the time to catapult us back to the ordinary from the extraordinary lives she has penned for our dreamy escape.

Tianna Laveen has done it again, another awesome story! I loved Phoenix Hale! A man who knows how to forgive and recognize the truth! Phoenix and Tiffany McCall were made for each other. Phoenix needed a strong woman and being former DEA agent, finds the strong woman he needs in drug dealer Tiffany. She is a true heroine and even though she worked the wrong side of the tracks, she knew she was better and deserved better. She owned her truth and excepted the consequences of her actions. Regardless of why he wanted her dead in the beginning, Phoenix saw what a treasure she was and knew she was his woman.
This is truly a book about playing with the cards you're dealt and they both came out better for it!

Butterflies and Dragons, oh my!!!
Loved Phoenix and Tiffany!! They always say there is someone out there for everyone, I guess that's true! Can't say after the way Phoenix treated Tiffany initially, that I would have fallen for him, but hey it happened. They both needed someone. Once again, Tiana you are an awesome writer. This book slowly drew me in to the point that I couldn't help but fall in love with Phoenix! And Tiffany, was the bomb..strong, sexy, fearless and dangerous!! Whew! Great book!

Exhilarating
Another well-crafted story by Tiana Laveen. Not surprising as Ms Laveen is one of the best writers of this genre. The story is gritty, fast-paced and intense and beautifully demonstrates how opposites do attract. Phoenix is strong, powerful, highly intelligent and focused on achieving his end result of capturing and captivating Tiffany’s mind, body, heart and soul. Tiffany is intelligent, head-strong, methodical, street-smart and beautiful. They are well-matched adversaries. This book is unputdownable. An exhilarating highly satisfying read.

Adrenaline driven story
Ms. Laveen is once again has not disappointed me. She always the Billups her characters FIRST. And then all the action starts. Her leads especially the female is strong but flawed it was great to see a very smart girl use her brain unfortunately to make money illegally but eventually turn it around. In the process she was the love of a man who brought her down. Definitely five stars.

Wow!!!!
I'm not surprise this is just, I'm speechless this here is a magnificent work of art.... The story was great and I'm from Chicago I was excited to read about someone from my area and she was a Beauty...... I love butterflies and dragons always love the contrast.... Once again you've weaved a work of art... Thank you..... Just Amazing I give it Infinity stars... 5 is a disservice...... 😊

A very good read!
This book was chosen for my bookclub and at first I didn’t think it would be something I would enjoy based on the title. I’m glad I did read it because, it was a very good read! It was interesting and thrilling. Understanding the background on Tiffany and Phoenix was key in addition to seeing them married as opposed to just another wonderful interracial relationship was pretty cool ending.

I bought this book and filed it under my "To Be Read" until I was in a group discussion and everyone rated it as one of the best books that they have read recently. I completely agree , I'm so glad that I read it sooner rather than later. It's definitely at least 5 star worthy. I will make it a point to follow and catch up on reading books by Ms. Tiana Laveen.

You can't miss with a Tiana Laveen book. Her novels are compelling , riveting , exciting and believable. Once you start it you don't want to put it down until you finish. Chasing the Dragon is an unforgettable book. I highly recommend , not only this book but all of her books. An excellent read.

Dragons and Butterflies Oh My
Tiana took us on another adventure! Butterflies and Dragons cannot coexist or can they?! Love comes when we least expect it. We just have to remember there are many bumps along the way to our hearts desire. The journey is never easy but the rewards we reap are worth it!

This book checked all the boxes for me. I always enjoy Ms. Laveen's work. Surprisingly, this book felt a little different from her other works but no less fantastic. Ms. Laveen is a gifted writer and has become an automatic buy for this avid reader who is looking forward to her next offering.

This is Tiana Laveen's best couple ever! I love the characters and the development of the story. From the beginning to the end this story is awesome. I hope to read more of Phoenix and Tiffany in the future.

I'm not surprised that this book is another great one from Ms. Laveen. She did a wonderful job of tackling the tough issues...drugs, molestation, murder, etc. The characters are tough and likeable. Keep up the great work.

Good stuff. Lots of twists and turns in Tiffany & Phoenix's love story. Definitely not for those who like light, fluffy romances. If you like drama and strong characters, this book is for you. A bit shorter than usual from the author but still an engrossing dark romance.

*sigh*what can i say?Ms.Laveen is one of my favorite author.Once I hold her book, that's it! I'll never leave her story and characters in peace.Phoenix and Tiffany are becoming my top OTP.This story ,characters is perfect for me.This is my kind of story.

This was a great unexpected love story ..I didn't want to like the heroine because she did some unsavory things but I did anyway. Hero was alpha, charming, and daring.
