The hope of a new beginning...

Emma is a poor orphan who lives a decent yet empty life of labor as a cleaning girl at the local hotel. While her days are spent on her hands and knees scrubbing the hotel floor, her evenings are spent alone, longing for someone to love, and in return, love her back.

After it dawns on Emma that she’s allowed to make a try for her own happiness, she answers an ad in the paper to become a mail order bride, believing that her life might finally be looking up.

But despite the promise of a bright new future she is devastated when her new husband turns out to be an insufferable cad, immature and given to drink.

Will her only friend in this wild new town—local Tavern owner and man of honor Jesse Helms—be willing and able to help Emma out of this terrible mess? And will Emma finally find true love in the process?

This is a sweet and clean Western romance and is a stand alone story with a HEA

This could have been a nice little story of a gentleman Jesse looking out for a mail-order bride Emma who gets hooked up with a not-so-nice husband Zack but unfortunately four or five swear words overshadow the very short story.

I have no idea why swearing is included in a story that is classified as a 'sweet and clean inspirational Christian' romance. I suppose that the swearing shows how not-nice Zach (the spelling of his name changes throughout the story) is but his drinking and total disregard for the mail-order bride Emma got the point across crystal clear without the swearing so the swearing was not necessary. Also the gentleman Jesse takes God's name in vain at least once so it isn't just bad-boy Zach who swears.

Sex - none; one kiss at the end
Language - quite a bit of swearing especially for how short the story is
Violence - none
Religion - none; I could not identify this in any way as being a Christian or Inspirational story. God was not mentioned other than when His name was used as profanity. No one prayed or mentioned faith or attended church.

Sweet, fast paced, interesting and intriguing. Jesse is not the typical male character in every mail order bride book, which is refreshing.

Mail Order Bride Romance ( A True and Decent man )
By: Angelica Rose

I really enjoyed A True And Decent Man ,one of Mail Order Bride Romance. The story and the characters are both well written and easy to follow. Emma is a young woman who works hard and is tired of her life. She answered an ad in the paper where a man from Colorado is seeking for a young woman to marry. Do these mail order brides always end up happy? I felt so sorry for Emma and her hard life she was living.
I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.

This mail order romance is about Emma, an orphan from West Virginia who travelled West seeking a better life.
Things didn't happen as expected and Emma handled the situation with grace, finding a new life.
I loved the characters and the story.
The book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
