PRESENTING A STORY OF TWO WOMEN WHO FALL IN LOVE - TENSION BY LYDIA SMYTH Elaine Bartley is a career woman who has long since let go of her romantic pursuits. A tragic relationship, 10 years ago has left her a broken woman. Elaine just gets by everyday until one day Rachel Ashton walks into her life. Rachel is very different from Elaine. She is in her twenties, free-spirited and uninhibited. Elaine is intrigued by the young woman and takes her under her wing and helps Rachel get her life organized. Rachel, at first thinks Elaine is very boring but eventually begins to understand and care for Elaine. However, when Rachel's conservative family and Elaine's past comes back to haunt them, will they be able to stay together?
Whatever magic spell some writers use to draw the reader in and get them fully invested in their story (Melissa Brayden...you know you do ;)) is sorely missing in this story. I really didn't care if the two MC's got together or not. All the characters in this book are underdeveloped and drab.
Two stars is a gift for this story. It was just barely ok for me.
