One virgin. Two weeks. Twenty billionaires. She can run, but she can't hide... The Chase. It takes place every year. If you're not invited, you'll never even know it exists. It's a game - a Chase - entered only by the world's richest and most powerful men. And one, lone, solitary woman. A virgin. Winner takes all. Literally. But our prey isn't as innocent as she seems - she's CIA trained, and kick-ass strong. And she gets paid $250,000 for every day she evades capture. Sounds simple, right? If only it was. When I entered, it was because I was bored of easy lays and easier women. But suddenly Cassie is back. She's the girl who stood me up at prom - who I've spent my entire life proving wrong. And the girl I never heard from again. But Cassie's not a girl anymore. She's most definitely a woman. And maybe she's not just the one who got away... Holly Hart always gives you a Happy Ever After, she hates cheating with a passion, and cliffhangers just as much as you do!
Librarian Note: There is more than one author by this name in the Goodreads database.
I make my bad boys jump from the frying pan into the fire, and straight into the heroine's bed. I like 'em bad, foul mouthed, and with eyes for the only woman in their life.
So let down! When I read "one intelligent female protagonist versus 20 male persuers," I was like, "Oooh... Sounds like an action and adrenaline packed adventure!"
Not.
A little bit bc of the hunt's format- it's anynonymus and takes place in the city as participants continue their lives. There are some nice plot twists, but also a hail Mary in the climax scene that was so unnatural. It brought a supporting character so suddenly to the forefront of the plot and didn't settle well with me.
But a huge part of my disappointment is because our strong undercover agent female lead is LAME- she's retiring the agency and is in the chase so she can start a business venture! We only get glimpses of her glorious past through by-gones. So exciting, right? Undercover agents in other novels are also glorified, living in the lap of luxury, but not our heroine. She stares open-mouthed in nice restaurants and hotels. Classy.
Nothing wrong with characters that react this way to wealth and strive for it. But what bothers me is it leads to the world's most nonsensical epilogue, where the couple is UNCOMFORTABLE WITH THEIR WEALTH. Read that again. Then, what they do with that money is give it away to "the most deserving" people they know. I honestly rolled my eyes SO HARD because it didn't make sense and I just basically skipped the ending, so I may have gotten those facts a lil wrong.
We also never get an "aha!" moment when Carson realizes whom the target is. I thought I skipped a chapter; I didn't. We're just suddenly thrust into the scene where he's claiming his prize with no insight before.
This was a pleasant read overall, but had quite a few flaws to make me hesitant to read from this author again.
WOW! This caught me already by the blurb and the story did not disappoint me. Holly Hart has certainly written a book that is filled with everything to capture you from page one until the last page. It is so unique that I surprised me a lot. I loved it! This story line is not like the usual billionaire stories and that amazed me. And I was thrown back by surprise of the twists and turns the story takes. A lot I did not see come. This book has it all: drama, action, romance, lust, intelligent woman, alpha males, second chance, hot scenes, chemistry and a lot of emotions. A really well written sweet story that you just cannot stop reading until the last page and the very unexpected ending. I love that the female character is so strong and fights for what she needs and wants. Story as already said very unique but it is also a bit quirky and has edges to it. Absolutely one I would recommend for reading.
I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and giving my honest review.
Carson is a billionaire playboy that just gets bored easily. He hear's about an exclusive game The Chase and is very intrigued and definitely is up for the challenge. Carson always thinks about Cassie, the one who got away and always hoped he would see her again. Well Carson got his wish and is reunited with Cassie but the timing is off because Cassie has secrets that can't get revealed. Great story and like-able characters especially Maks and the ending was very interesting.

Wow, I loved reading The Chase, all about Cassandra Vincent a young girl in her twenties who is part owner of an ice-cream shop called Patty's in NYC and Carson Drake a thirty-one year old Billionaire who is bored with his life. So both want adventure and both are willing to risk their well being on cold hard cash. So the name of the Game is called The Chase, twenty billionaires each put up twenty million dollars and each gets a key, when they find the prey they present their key and the game is up. Now the prey is Cassandra and she gets $250,000.00 a day for every day she is not captured and the game lasts fifteen days. The only thing the guys are given are locations that she frequents nothing else, and she is given no info on any of the billionaires. Let the game begin. The author wrote a very intriguing story, that will keep you captivated until the very end! Also included with this story were four others that will equally keep your attention! Byrne Book 1 Of The Bad Boy Irishman series. It's all about the Irish Mob in Boston and the family that runs it. Next is Burn Baby Byrne Book 2 in the Irishman series and is about the second twin named Kieran. The next is Scorched Book 3 in the Irishman series and it's about the third eldest Ridley Byrne who also is a twin and will keep you on your toes. The last story is called Faking It it's about Penny Walters a nineteen year old Personal Assistant to Michael Thorne who is a thirty year old Billionaire who is the CEO of Thorne Industries. He's never met Penny before, and she comes in during a meeting with CPS(Child Protective Services) who want to take away Michaels eleven year old daughter, because their have been complaints. Penny decides to protect his daughter and say"Sorry darling I got caught in traffic I would have been here sooner and she leans in and kisses Michael" CPS wants to know who she is and she says I'm his wife we've been married for a couple of months we never told anybody, we wanted to keep it on the down-low. Well to say CPS was shocked, and so was Michael, but he hid is shock very well! Read this book and find out how Penny & Michael fare in this quick pace book! To say that I was shocked to read four full fledge books in one would not even begin to cover my expression! Just wow, each one was amazing, this author knows how to tell a story and keep you completely engaged the entire time! I will definitely read more of her stuff!
This was the first story that I've read by Holly Hart, but it sure won't be the last! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hated each time I had to put it down to get something done. Cassandra or Sandra, now Cassie was a former CIA/ black-Ops agent. She finally left her dangerous assignments behind her and is now looking to go into business with her best friend Tricia. Tricia owns a small ice cream shop that makes delicious flavors. To really take their business to the next level they will need about 12 million dollars. Cassie has an agreement from an investor that if she can put together 3.5 million, the investor will put in the rest of the needed funds. But how to do that?
Cassie has only loved one guy and at 30 she still a virgin, as no one else appeals to her. She and her former high school boy friend were the class nerds. Extraordinarily brilliant and they loved each other. Carson asked Cassie to the Senior Prom and she accepted. But when he came to take her to the Prom, she and her family had disappeared. For Carson too, no one has ever measured up to his first love, Cassie. Meanwhile Carson attended two years at Harvard and then left because he wasn't learning anything new. He developed a sought after computer program and made millions, now he is a billionaire, but still alone.
One day while Cassie is with Tricia at her small ice cream shop Carson comes in for some of Tricia's delicious ice cream. Time stands still and they are once again a couple in love. BUT, Cassie has accepted the challenge of the Chase. She must remain in mid-town Manhattan for two weeks and remain a virgin until someone hands her a special key. Then that person will be entitled to have sex with her. If no one finds her after two weeks, she will be auctioned off to one of the 20 or so billionaires 'in the game'. Unbeknownst to her, Carson, bored as he was, also joined 'The Chase'. Meanwhile they keep spending time together and she keeps avoiding being intimate with Carson. Other billionaires are also trying to find her and all have been given clues as to where she usually goes in Manhattan.
Such a fun-filled chase and romp! I know that I will read this story again. It was that much fun. Of course we get a HEA at the end. Get the book, it is only the first story in what appears to be an anthology. More reviews to come if they were written by Holly Hart!
I read the reviews on this book and was super excited for the premise, but it left a lot to be desired and I feel like I read a totally different book than the majority of reviewers. The Chase was a great idea, but lacked execution. The plot was choppy and anticlimactic, the characters seemed overly immature despite life experiences and needlessly obsessed with money, the sex scenes felt like they were added just to check a box off, and the epilogue seemed totally out of place and written by someone else. also the metaphors and similies were a little out of control and didn't seem to fit the characters. Maybe it just wasn't my style of book (the only reason why this is getting a 3 and not 2 star review), but I've read other books that fit in this category that didn't feel like a waste of my time. The only redeeming factor are the other freebie books attached at the end that I will review momentarily. The three books that were part of the Byrne Brothers series I would probably give a 4 overall. They were fun storylines, even if I thought they could've been a little longer, all the story lines didn't feel so rushed. I also found the fact that all of the leading ladies and dudes looked similar a little annoying, but at least their I individual personalities varied. I did feel the books got progressively better with each brother, but honestly won't be jumping to finish the remaining brothers' stories. The final book Faking It, I would probably rate a 4 and felt it was the best of a!l of the collection. I again felt the plot was needlessly rushed, but a little more complete. I also felt the age of Penny seemed a little unnecessarily young - the storyline would have been just as effective with a slightly older leading lady. Overall, I really don't see myself reading any books by Holly Hart in the future.
Its an organized woman hunt for billionaires. Cassie is the prey and she will be tough to catch. She is brilliant, CIA trained and has several years in the field. For each day she stays free, she earns $250,000 up too 14 days. If a billionaire in the game finds her and presents her with a key, then she has to go with him to the motel and give him her virginity. If she avoids them for 14 days, then her virginity is auctioned off to the highest bidder. Why is Cassie doing the chase? She is tired of being a virgin and she needs the money. She and her best friend have plans for mass producing her friend's ice cream recipes and later selling the company to make a fortunes. Carson is a bored billionaire who takes incredible risks to feel alive. His friend Maks tells him about the chase and he is interested in the challenge. When he is investigating one of the places his prey is known to hang out, he meets Cassie. For a short time in high school they were best friends and boyfriend/girlfriend. He was supposed to take her to the prom but she was gone when he came to pick her up. Deep inside he never got over Cassie so he is thrilled to have a second chance. Cassie has had strong feelings for Carson too. He was the only male she ever thought about giving her virginity too. The day of prom, her dad was outed as a spy and they had to be moved and put in special custody. She wasn't allowed to contact him. Now Carson is back in her life she regrets signing up for the chase but she doesn't want to let her friend down. This is a good book with lots of feelings and action. I really loved Maks and his murdering of the English language. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

I haven't read any of Holly Hart's books before, but after reading The Chase, as well as the 4 additional novels generously included within this book ( Books 1 through 3 of the Bad Boy Irishmen series and Faking It), I can assure you that these won't be the last Holly Hart books I read. I've found another go to author.
Holly writes stories that are complete and don't leave you wondering or wanting additional information. They include characters who you want to get to know better. And she doesn't disappoint. You get to know and understand them. They sometimes have flaws or are somehow damaged, but they're never weak or irritatingly irrational. They're survivors. Each of the primary players in every one of these stories was real, complex and very likeable. And none were cookie cutter samples from the same box.
These are not clean and sweet romances. There is some relatively graphic sex and sometimes some violence. But, in both instances, it is not excessive or inappropriate. It works with that particular story.
I would absolutely recommend this book, or I should probably say these five stories, to anyone who enjoys this genre. You will not be disappointed.
A great read by Holly Hart about a billionaire, Chase, who is actually bored and tries to find excitement to fill his time. He signs up for a "chase". You buy in and try to find the woman with little clues, once you do you take her back to the hotel and claim your prize. What he doesn't expect is to run into to his H.S. love, Cassie. He has changed but so has she, he is no longer the geeky looking kid and she is no longer the lanky geeky girl. They can't believe they have run into each other 13 years later and even though he has the chase to concentrate on, he can't because of her. But what he doesn't know is that what he was looking for is right under his nose in more ways than one. A really great story that has a bit of suspense, action, lust/love and finding out that even though you have all the money in the world it can't buy happiness or peace. I also enjoyed the fact that once all the secrets were out and they were honest with each other, they were all in, no more secrets and no misunderstandings or people trying to tear them apart. There were also a few laughs with his best frien Maks that will make you smile. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
Excellent & unusual contemporary billionaire romance. Carson was brilliant and became a billionaire at an early age but soon after became bored. In high school and college he got so bored he started taking calculated risks. One of those risks was to enter a $20,000 million contest against 20 other millionaires to catch a woman that is trained in evading for 2 weeks. The man that catches her will be the winner and she freely gives up her virginity to him. The woman receives $250,000 for every day she isn't caught. Cassie is done with years of working for the CIA. She and her best friend are trying to obtain money for the start up of their unique ice cream shop. She too hears about the Chase. Next thing Carson and Cassie accidentally meet up not realizing what's ahead. They ended up getting into something that is dangerous and unexpected. The book has laughter, intrigue and suspense as well as romance. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author. (This particular copy was only a couple of hundred pages).
I just finished The Chase by Holly Hart and I absolutely loved it. I was thinking about about the preview of the story and just couldn't figure how twenty billionaires were going to be in the story, but the way Holly wrote them in goes beyond the way I had thought.
The story about Carson and Cassie starts when they were sweethearts in high school but also a strong friendship. They were close until the day that Cassie didn't show up for the prom, and her family moved over night.
Then the story begins 12 years later. And a new game called The Chase. Carson is a bored man who has more money than he could ever spend by himself, and Cassie is an ex fed operative and currently in need of money to help her friend Tricia start a business. So they both join the Chase. But neither of them knows the other is involved.
When they see each other for the first time in 12 years you can feel the electricity. Then they keep running into each other and the Chase begins.
Incredible story. The more I read, the better it got. Loved how all the characters were written. Thank you Holly Hart for such a sweet read.
I love getting into a book that makes me think! I mean really makes me think. Things like, could this happen, DOES this go on already. Holly Hart’s creative unique writing style that I adore shines brightly in this fast paced sexy, fun dramma’d up plot twisting romancing tale. We are talking second chances ( one of my personal favs ) Russian mobs, a tech-savvy way too smart for their own good sexy and they know it billionaires,*Carson *. A strong independent woman with more secrets than the CIA ( haha ) who can take you down without a second thought*Cassie* and the people around them who care the most- all getting wrapped in one intriguing expensive gamble. * Maks & Tricia * The Chase was a page turning hot masterpiece that kept my eyes glued to the pages! I was not about to miss a single detail of this craftiness with its excellent twists and turns with so much witty banter between Maks ( I would have him talk all day ) Tricia, Cassie and Carson I did not want the Chase to end! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
This was a really fun read! I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. It was definitely different and just written well. Cassie is ex-CIA and looking to start the next portion of her life and is going to join the Chase in order to raise some capitol. Carson is bored after he has become a billionaire and retired. He needs something to stimulate his mind and he ends up joining the Chase as well. They run into each other again (used to date in high school) the day the Chase starts, having no idea that they are both participating. Forces pulled them apart back then and now they can't stay away from each other, even with the Chase in the back of their minds. I thought that the story was well written and flowed really well. It had plenty going on to keep your attention the entire time. I had to figure out what was going to happen next and how things were going to work out for Cassie and Carson. There is a lot of sexual chemistry in this story but the sex is on the low side, though explicit when it happens. I loved the characters and the action in this story. Just really well done. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I had heard of Holly Hart, but had not read any books by her yet as I was not really wanting to start reading new authors at the time. So, when some of my favorite authors mentioned The Chase and how great it was, I decided I would try it through KU. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased it.
This book was nothing like I thought it would be. The overall theme - a woman willingly being chased for her Virginity by billionaires and one just happens to be a former boyfriend - seemed like it would be a good salacious erotic romance. But what I found was a great suspenseful story about so much more. It's hard for me to find a story these days that is so well written I can't predict what's going to happen next. The surprising twists hit me hard, leaving my eyes wide open and my jaw dropping. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book where the heat of romance is perfectly balanced with the rest of the plot.
Carson is bored, really bored. His friend Maks tells him about the chase and Carson is interested and wants to win.
Cassie needs money to start the company she wants with her friend. The chase will give her money, a lot money if she stays out the hands of the 20 billionaires who want to catch her.
What Cassie doesn't need is her old high school crush Carson back in her life, they found out they still have feelings for each other. But they don;'t know they are both doing the chase. This gives funny situations and some hot ones too when they go out for a date any way. The way she blows of other contestants is a funny read.
But finally Carson understands (with help of Tricia) why he keeps on running into Cassie, she is the chase. Solving this and winning his price, doesn't stop is, since the bosses of the game think they cheated. What follows is some kind of thriller action.
Great read with funny, hot and action moments. Loved it!
Not exactly what you would expect but very well written. It's a story about a young woman and her best friend. They are starting a business together her friend, currently the owner of a small ice cream shop, wants to go big time. The woman, Cassandra, has a background of CIA and is in the process of getting out. Because she's supposed to be selling her business (really just a CIA front) to raise the money, She needs to find a way to come up with the cash. She enters The Chase, for every day she evades capture she gets 250,000. If she doesn't get caught she then gets the proceeds from being auctioned off to the highest bidder. This is an interesting plot since entry fee for the men is 20 million dollars. The prize? Cassandra's virginity. The story leads quite a tale with enough twists to keep you biting your nails. This book also includes three other full length books, which are also very good.
Cassia and Carson were high school sweethearts. They were Army brats. They were also extremely geeky. Cassie and Carson spoke their own language that no one else understood. It was sweet teenage bliss, until prom night when Cassie disappeared and Carson was devastated. And utterly embarrassed. Years later they are reunited under unusual and uncertain circumstances. Cassia has entered The Chase, where she will be hunted by the wealthy elite. The longer she goes without being caught, the more money gets added to her bank account. And there's an extra special prize for the lucky winner. It takes a number of encounters and a few rejected advances, for Carson to realize that seeing Cassie again after all these years isn't just a coincidence.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and was not compensated in any way.
Holly has thrown us into the 'Chase' a 'secret' yearly event where men with more money than sense 'compete' for the virgin that year....it's a bit unbelievable to be honest but boy does Holly sell this!
Carson and Cassie know each other. They have a past. A connection that threatens what they both set out to achieve but this nerdy connection means that feelings long forgotten are quick to resurface and that throws them (and us as readers) into a game filled with suspense and drama abound!
How this plays out and ends, you will have to read to find out but let me be honest, you won't regret reading this unique take on second-chance/billionaire romance story that had me extremely engaged and impressed with Holly's skill as an author!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reading Copy of this book.
I gave up on Chapter 11 even before the Chase actually started. Want to know why? I could not connect with Carson. He had a bad case of poor-little-rich-boy that was so annoying....so, so annoying. There was actually nothing redeemable about him for me.
Then the fact that he transformed from the geek in high school to the obnoxious billionaire who sleeps with anything and everything and even when he signed up for the Chase was because he was bored...my working class brain jist found him to be crass and annoying as shit.
Then for Cassandra, the girlfriends giggly giggly shit she was doing with Tricia all the time also annoyed me.
The book has potential, just not executed to my liking or taste that I cannot swallow past Chapter 11.
This is an amazing book! Cassie and Carson are in this game to win! Their history makes this a wonderful second-chance love story, their current lives make it a fun billionaire/virgin story, and their chemistry makes it hot, hot, hot! The setup of the game - the 'chase' - results in an action-packed romp that will keep you turning the pages faster than your Kindle can handle. Holly Hart is such a talented writer, her attention to detail and ability to write such emotional depth really make this a beautiful love story with lots of twists and turns on the way to the HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Talk about a page turner, this book was great. Well written with great characters and a strong storyline. Once I started it was hard to put this book down. This book is so creative and it really makes you think. Twenty billionaires and two weeks all chasing the same girl. What a story. Cassie an ex CIA operative needs to raise money for her new venture and what better way than to have them financing her venture via participation in this Chase. And a second chance romance for Carson and Cassie who are completely polar opposites than they were in high school and she's still a virgin. A great read. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and I loved this book.
As I was reading this book, I really enjoyed how the author was able to draw me in and see the characters as people. Sure, it's a far fetched (I would hope) theory of men having way too much money and time to even get involved with this kind of thing but it was entertaining to read about as an escape. About three quarters of the way through the book that it took a plot twist and things got to moving pretty fast and it kept reading to see what happened next. This was definitely one of those books that I just couldn't put down until the end.
This was an awesome read from start to finish. The first page had me hooked, it was brilliantly written, and had my mind trying to work out what was going on. Both Carson and Holly had became who they are now because of one night a long time ago, yet both of them effected in totally opposite ways. The ending was fantastic, and a big well done to Holly for touching on something people often chose to ignore, but she also showed an example of reaching out.
I received an ARC of this book and have freely chosen to read and review it. My review is fair and honest and in no way incentivised.
Please note the time for me to read this was in no way a reflection on the book, but my ill health
Carson is your typical billionaire, he's been there, done that & her & her & her too & he's bored!! That's until he hears about a game called The Chase where the richest men in the world go on a hunt for two weeks. The price to play $20mill, The prize a Virgin. While searching for the prey he bumps into Cassie the girl that stood him up at prom. Now his torn between chasing after Cassie & the virgin!! The Chase had me glued to my kindle from the first page & biting my nails till the end!! There's action, suspense, Russian mobsters, sleezy billionares & a crazy satanic _itch! Through all the drama love & friendship prevails!! I voluntarily read an advanced reader of copy of this book.
THE CHASE, This was a really fun story. I love the way Holly Hart can just totally take you on a different trip from any thing you might have been expecting. This is about Carson and Cassie/Sandra they are former high school sweethearts whose romance derailed when she disappeared before prom. Years later needing money to fund a business venture with her friend Cassie who is a former government operator decides to participate in a game that pays her a huge fee for everyday she is able to escape being found by bored billionaires who win her virginity. I would have loved to have been able to give this more than 5 stars!
A brilliantly written story with a different concept, I was hooked from the start, we have 20 billionaires who pay to find the prize, and the prize is Cassies virginity, she has to stay hidden in the city for two weeks without the billionaires finding her. She runs into her old flame Carson, each not realising they are both playing the game.
This was a really good page turner, there was loads going on to keep you entertained and of course an HE A
I received an advanced copy and I voluntarily leave my honest opinion
***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***A fantastic read. Holly kudos to you! This book is full of love, excitement, intrigue, and tear-jerking humility! Cassie/Sandra/Cassandra the virgin and ex-CIA agent is a badazz and so is Carson, the billionaire, and MMA student! Patricia/Tricia, the ice cream parlor owner, is no slouch herself. Maks, the Russian and Carson's best friend, may seem like a retard, but he has a head on his shoulders. The four of them make for interesting reading. And add The Russian Mob and Satan worshippers. I really enjoyed this read!

This book was a really great read. The storyline was very unique and kept it interesting throughout the entire book. I was definitely hooked! The way the book begins, you think that you know how it will continue on but then the author throws in a twist here and there to keep you hooked! I really liked how different it was from any book I've read. The concept of 'The Chase' was great and made a book about a billionaire and a virgin, that lets face it, can be overdone, into a completely new and exciting read.
This book has it all: suspense - check; romance - check; bored billionaire genius - check; sassy, brilliant, virgin ex CIA operative - check; funny feisty adorable friends - check; a game run by the Russian mafia - hmm check. Of course nothing can run smooth and this book has it all in spades, well written, characters that you love or love to hate and a story line that keeps you on your toes. What more could you want and what are you waiting for. Oh yeah I forgot the hot scenes too. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
