A treasure map, a destiny, Junko Hattori naked! What istn't to love? The adventure continues!

The main character is still resisting becoming the next demon king. Fate, and a bunch of minor players, are bound and determined to help him be all he can be, whether he likes it or not...

This is a fun read.

I am not a huge fan of the second novel trick where they do a pullback and reveal that it’s actually some grand epic. I just wanted a fun story.

Again a very fun novel, but the story was really slow paced. Nevertheless I enjoyed reading it, because Akuto remainds me of Artemis Fowl, with his refined way of speaking and mostly, for using his brains.

Sped through this one. Again, it ups the action but also has a lot of rom-com moments drawn out. Definitely a more mature series, which should be apparent by now.

I was kind of hoping for learning more about the agenda of the group at the end of the last volume, but we're still a bit in the dark. There's a lot of different agendas going on politically, like different clans that have their vision for the future or morally, and these are clashing. It all gets a bit confusing, so I'm hoping the next volume open does recap some of this stuff, particularly Junko and her rival's differences, and the big baddy for this section.

Akuto's suitor count went way up this volume. If you were hoping for a more focused pairing, well, that's not this series.

There are some fun moments, but it can get a bit exasperating watching Akuto be demeaned and villified page after page. This isn't really a heart-warming, feel-good series.
