I don't like Leo that much. He was selfish, cold and ...I just did not understand him. He didn't take Hazel seriously, he never thought that maybe her reason was important to others too. I was very disappointed when he didn't stop the project for her. Or at least do something instead of cutting her the tree and saying "here, take this stupid tree" when he came to, apparently, apologize. He let her sleep in the dirt outside his house where a bear could easily kill her. He tossed her an eaten apple after almost two days of her starving, he let her freeze outside in his porch on a storm and when he finally let her inside, he looked through her bag, grabbed her mother's diary and made fun of her parents' memory. I just don't see how this should be a likeable hero. I tried to like him. I really did. But as the story went on he just turned worse and worse. He was cute for a second in the epilogue, but then he said how he only let her inside his house because of the storm and I just...no.
I am disappointed. The story started so good, I loved Hazel and her character. Her mother's diary and her parents' story made me share a couple of tears. Sadly, even after falling for her, the "hero" thought it was only sentimental bullshit.
