Don't miss out on this fun story everyone will be talking about!
USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 2 of 6
Delia is doing temp jobs very few that she enjoys. Her cleaning lady is missing. Then she finds her body in a car at the parking garage she is working at.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic family and friends relationship adventure novels 😲😃 2025 👒😊
I'm enjoying the story, a little slow. But I need some calm in my life now. I like that Jack is part of the story, he had a bigger part in Coma Girl and we got to know more about him. Carlotta was a nice surprise. You're correct about not liking Mae/Della, but she's a work in progress. Keep writing, I'll keep reading. Pre-order part 3.
By my calendar, it is 19 August 2017 and it is time to look in on the daily Stephanie Bond submissions creation for each day in August. Downloaded through Amazon’s KU program, I know the story up to the end of August but I will refrain from making comments about situations after August 19 out of respect for those following the daily online posting.
Temp Girl Della Culpepper remains the apparently wealthy career woman we can envy for her success and money. We are fairly sure she is a “good” person as well although Della goes out of her way to offend with her superior attitude. We know from part one that she is at least temporarily unemployed, that she is way over her head in debt and is concentrated on treading financial water by borrowing heavily as much as she can while paying only interest on her mounting debt. By itself a recipe for failure, Della compounds this by determining to maintain her previous lifestyle while deceiving all around her about her reduced circumstances. As we begin part two, Della (under assumed name Mae) reports for work at Anita Temp, a temporary employment agency run by her former maid, Joon-Woo.
As well as a good story, this is an examination of life as a temporary employee. There should be a lot of empathy on the part of taxi drivers, seasonal employees (think Christmas part-time jobs) and event centered jobs such as those held by wedding planners. Mae’s first job is that of gift wrapper. There is a serious examination of the pain self-inflicted by paper cuts.
A huge problem Della faces is the one where she might meet people she knew in her previous fast-paced, money-driven life. They know the successful Della; she did not want them to know Temp Girl Mae. While Mae was able to do some jobs without fear of meeting former friends and colleagues, what would she do when she was assigned to a temporary job at the gym where she held a high-priced membership and everyone knew her? This called for some sort of disguise.
Then there was the problem of money. Temporary jobs could provide enough money to sustain her previous lifestyle. The salary of her personal assistant was worrisome. She couldn’t fire him; her deceptions would be revealed. She might even lose boyfriend Dr. Kyle. He was fabulously wealthy but he didn’t date (or marry) poor. Perhaps she could sell her high-priced clothes, especially the clothes which still had price tags attached. The only person she didn’t have problems with, a person who was annoying in the extreme, was Charlie Graham. His seemingly superior opinion of himself rivaled Della’s opinion of herself. Despite the annoyance factor, he was occupying more time in her mind than boyfriend Dr. Kyle. And Charlie knew the truth about her.
This modern-day Cinderella fantasy provides a lot of distractions from the daily routine. The daily publishing of a new installment gives busy readers something to wake up to. Folks like me who can’t seem to keep up with daily reads can get the monthly collection (sometimes in advance). This is fun reading.
This is part 2 of 6 part daily serial, part two is August.
Loving the concept of Stephanie Bond’s daily serial books, of which I’ve previously read two lots from authors back catalogue. Anyway in this one, which is called Temp Girl and is where an entitled diva called Della is forced to take jobs at a temp agency to get by, and takes a tumble into reality.
Part 2 has been just as entertaining and enjoyable as part 1. Even more drama if that is possible. Della is quite a character and highly selfish, although think that is starting to change for the better already. There is already a bit of a crime storyline happening in the background, i.e. the money that has been stolen, but I reckon there is going to be a bit more crime happening as Elena has gone missing and given the cliff hanger that we are left with at the end of part 2, I think it’s safe to say there is much more to it than just a missing person case.
So with that said, I am heading straight into part 3 which is the month of September.
Another hit for Stephanie Bond. I enjoyed this one more than the first one I have to say. In this serial we are starting to see a bit more growth in Dellas character she's fighting it but it's getting there.
Della is working for the Anita temp agency and the work is a bit humbling to her and also quite eye opening. She's fighting hard to keep this from crossing over into the life of privilege she grew accustomed to that she worked so hard to create.
I'm looking forward to seeing in serial number 3 what happens to Della. I highly recommend this serial to anyone. High kudos to Stephanie Bond for a job well done so far. We anxiously await the next.~Your Faithful Reader
Uuugggh so annoying... that I thought this entire book was on Spotify, zooming through 2 months of entries only to realize that it's still being uploaded in daily serial version, and I have to listen to it bit by bit for the next 4 months! Some of the entries are annoyingly short... less than 5 minutes long, and all along I've wondered who listens to these when they're being released like that, and why? Well I guess me, unless I buy the full audiobook. Because I got addicted to my nightly Coma Girl routine and moved on to the author's other serials once that was over. And it's a guilty pleasure as it is, because I'm pretty sure the target audience has an IQ of about 90, and yet I'm still hooked. Now I sound about as spoiled and whiny as the main character.
This instalment in the serials starts out with Della starting her temp jobs. Some of them were just hilarious. The mystery element starts to really develop in this episode. Kyle, Della’s boyfriend, seems to be a bit of a douchebag. If someone came along and punched him in the face, I wouldn’t be mad at them. Lol Im pretty sure another possible love interest may be developing. Only time will tell.
We start to get even a clearer picture of who Della really is; past and present. A lot of things are starting to make sense there. Della definitely has some baggage. Its going to be interesting to see how she handles some things.
Look forward to reading this each day! Della Culpepper is continuing to find herself falling deeper in debt and desperately thinking up ways to get out of her dilemma. Della continues to worry about her brother and how she can help him. All the while she waits ... for her bonus check, for her job to be reinstated, for Kyle to ask her to marry him ... to be continued in the next Book Parts.
I have really been enjoying Stephanie Bond's novella's have been superb! I keep thinkingI will read in real time, but get carried away and read each part as fast as possible because I am enjoying them so much.
What a relief to read a series during the holiday season that doesn’t make me want to scream. This series is funny and believable. Guess I was tired of holiday books that are all the same!
This girl need a reality check about all her lying . it's sad that she has a crush on Charlie but wants to be with a snob like erick . then she finds a dead body what next.
Della wasn't an immediately likeable character, but she's growing on me, and I'm definitely eager to see where she's going, and how she'll get there. She's already done some major growing from the beginning of the series. Onward!
