Once a cheater, always a cheater.

Cypress told me only a half-truth once again. When I asked if he’d been with anyone, he said no. But it turns out, he kissed someone, and he won’t tell me who or why. A kiss is forgivable if it were someone else, but Cypress already has a bad track record when it comes to fidelity. I don’t trust him, and after this lie, I’ll never trust him. I ask for divorce papers—and for the first time he cooperates.

Cypress doesn’t try to contact me again. An entire week passes and I don’t even get a single text. Not only does he honor my request, but he’s finally given up on this sham marriage too. But then Amelia stops by for dinner and confesses the truth. “I’m the one who kissed Cypress…and he’s the one stopped it.”

I expected this betrayal from Cypress—but not my own sister. There are no words to describe my heartache. I know she’s sorry, and I know I’ll forgive her because I love her, but that doesn’t make it easy. She pushes for Cypress again. “I just needed you to know the truth—that Cypress has always been faithful to you. I don’t want you to lose the greatest thing that’s ever happened to you...” The divorce papers are already signed, but now I wonder if I should give this marriage another try.

One more try.

This series was so beautiful. And it felt like reading a single book. It had continuity, suspense and a lot of feelings. I enjoyed every story (because there are three couples, but 5 main characters for me).
It was the kind of series that included the reader in the story. Or at least, this is how it felt to me.
I loved Bree's story more than the rest. To go through so many things and in the end to see the light at the end of the tunnel... To be loved even though you can't remember how you fell again. This proves true love really exists.
I also loved Ace. He seemed such a playboy and turned out to be the perfect family guy. I hoped he would have a happy relationship until the end of the book and he did! He deserved it. I loved his way of thinking and the little gestures he made.
Such a well written series! Well done!

I love this amazing angst filled series. There are numerous relationships here to navigate through the drama to reach their HEA. Bree and Cypress ( my favorite) Amelia and Ace, Amelia and Evan and Blade and Celeste and even Bree and Amelia. Whew! The journey is a blast, the grand finale is swoon- worthy and the epilogue almost gave me a heart attack. When I read book one I had no idea it was part of a trilogy. It’s legit! Plenty of story here for three books. So fun! 5 stars.

Disappointed. I had always been behind Cypress from the first book. I mean, seeing his dedication during her amnesia, most people would. But then the kiss with her sister? Sure, he didn’t initiate it. Sure, he ended it. Sure, the sister was in a bad place.

But this whole book is basically everyone EXPECTING Bree to get over it. Oh, my boyfriend cheats on me? Get over it! My sister kisses my husband? Get over it! Why? Why is she always the one who just HAS to get over it? Did Bree cheat on Cypress with another guy? Did Bree kiss her sister’s husband?! She’s done NOTHING to deserve the bad choices they made. Yet, she’s the one who hurt most, and they expect her feelings to be what? Non-existent?

I’m so annoyed with it that I’m giving up. I don’t care about the ending anymore. This is just ridiculous. At this point, she should walk away from the two of them and start afresh elsewhere.

Bree was right. There’s a ton of other men around, and Amelia HAD to kiss her sick sister’s husband??? There must have been an intention for it to happen. Ok, it clicked in him that it was wrong WHEN it happened. But before? They could’ve fucking avoided getting so close that kissing someone when you’re depressed sounds like a good excuse lol. Plus, neither of them was ever going to tell her, not until she asked. That’s still betrayal. And they just expected her to GET OVER IT, or they’ll “make her”. Wow.

So disappointed in the ending, Bree should have cut her losses and left her cheater husband and disloyal sister, Ace should have gone back to Lady and left PITA amy, and Blade should have told Celeste to bog off.

Previously: Cypress cheated on Bree a few years ago while in college, she lost her memory and has gone back to that time when he cheated, the feelings are fresh and she HATES Cypress. Seeing him with Vanessa is bound to set her back, then he tells her that she comes to the restaurant now and again, Cypress should be grovelling at her feet for the rest of his life after what he did to her.

Why did Cypress go outside to talk to Vanessa alone when she asked, what could the woman he cheated on Bree with years ago possibly have to say that he should be interested in when he knows how much she upsets Bree. Idiot.

Why does she still pop in to his restaurants now and again.

Why did he tell her to call if she needs to speak to him, why not just tell her to get lost.

Why did Amy use depression as an excuse for her bad behaviour, kissing your sisters husband because you're horny and sad is unforgivable.

Why when she finally got Ace to commit did she consider going back to Evan (SHE'S A DRAMA QUEEN)

Celeste was annoying and another fickle, wishy washy character that I just skipped over her parts, poor Blade was short changed on a partner.

My Thoughts.....

What a very interesting ending to a truly good series. There were so many twist and turns that will put one on quite a emotional ride as you read through this series. I would definitely suggest that you start with the first two series so you will know what all has gone on earlier in this whole captivating story. All of the characters from Bree, Cypress, Amelia, Ace, Blade, Celeste to even Evan were all well developed giving the reader a relatable and believable read. The titles for all of these series were just very unique as this author always seems to give her readers some interesting reads. I will say it was a good ending for all of the characters in how this author was able to gives all a HEA in this well written and one awesome story.

I honestly skimmed and skipped to get to Bree and Cypress's chapters. I could care less about the others and found it kinda annoying. It also pissed me off that they tried to sweep the kiss under the rug as no big deal. I don't care what the circumstances are you don't kiss your sister's husband. Amelia even later admitted to only Cypress that she would of taken it further if he hadn't pulled away🤯 So I felt Bree was justified in her anger and I was pissed that everyone was trying to make her out to be a drama queen that overreacted. With that being said I love how Cypress love's Bree.

I give Cypress and Brees story a 5. The problem with this trilogy is that there’s just too many POV’s and too many sub stories. I would rather have read one live story per book. When you have Essentially 4 different stories going on it just gets boring to me. Truthfully I skimmed a lot of the other stuff just to get to Bree and Cypress. The writing of their story was good the rest was watered down filler. There was cheating by Cypress at the beginning of book 1 but he more
Than redeemed himself.

In the final book of the First series, we get the conclusion for all three love stories that we have emotionally invested in the first two books.
While the three love stories were different in how they became and how they ended up together, they had some common threads. And it’s that common thread that I liked because in a way it bonded the friends together because not do they know how it feels to go through the heartache and pain but they understand how to get past it.
Bree becomes a lot less annoying in this book and it makes me like her in the end. Cypress finally is able to woo his woman and she finally is able to let go of what happened with him and Vanessa. Cypress is that swoon worthy man that we all want in our lives because he never gives up on her and he is straight up book boyfriend material.

There was still that back and forth with Amelia/Ace/Evan. That struggle of doing what is best and what we want is something that I love reading about. Because while I get annoyed and frustrated (more because I just want my couple to end up together) I appreciate the fact that it’s not that easy when kids are involved.

Like with many of her other series, I love the relationships that EL Todd writes with the main characters in the stories, not just the romance ones. The friendships/bonds that the four have in this story is strong and carefree that you can see how easy their relationships are. They joke back and forth, protect each other, and are not afraid to be who they really are around each other. A real testament to friendship.

All three relationships have a HEA but it’s mainly Cypress and Bree that we see in the epilogue as Cypress finishes off with the final nail in the best boyfriend coffin. He swoons not only her but all of us and I know that I would like more of him.

This is another GREAT series by E L Todd!

Because the books in this series are not standalones, it's hard to write about it without spoiling it for other readers. But here's a little: First of all, I feel sorry for Bree because of what Cypress did to her, but then he pays for it ... over and over again and then I feel sorry for him because he has truly changed and would never do that again to Bree. Then there is Amelia, Ace and Evan. I feel that Evan blew it when he left Amelia for a younger woman, but he is the father of her children and will always hold a place in her heart. And Ace is just a good guy and all he wants is what Evan walked away from .... Amelia and a family life. And last is Blade ... when he finally finds the woman he wants to settle down with, she just wants a fling. Will Blade find his happily ever after with Celeste ... or will they part after the summer?

You will get emotionally involved in the characters stories ... you will laugh, and cry with them as they navigate their lives. At some points I just wanted to shake Bree and say "get over it ... or not, just make up your mind and let the Cypress get on with his life". And Ace could have been a little bit selfish and fought for Amelia. And then Blade ... just walk away already! But isn't that the sign of a great book when you want to though it against the wall! I highly recommend this series ... believe me you won't regret it!

I graciously received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.

Let me start off by saying that if you did not read this series you missed a good thing. This group of friends stood by each other through thick and thin. No matter what, they were there for each other. Each set of characters had their romantic issues going on. there was a plenty of angst going around for everyone. I have always been team Cypress. the patience and love he showed in all three books was amazing, Bree eventually realized she had a keeper. It was Amelia's turn to be annoying. Even though Evan deserved nothing, I didn't like the mixed signals she gave off. Ace was also a patient man. Just when you think everything would be easy with Blade, Celeste throws a wrench into things. there was a lot going on and I hated for it all to end. Great series. I hope we get to visit this group of friends again.

This was an incredible series and this book gave it the perfect ending. I loved to see how everything came together for these couples. Their struggles and joys made them all very east to connect with. This series is more of an everyday life kind of read. The circumstances are ones we all face in life and EL did an amazing job making this series one we can all relate to in one way or another. Her writing is flawless and filled with emotions that will have you loving her one minute and not liking her very much the next but that is what I love about her. Her books make you feel and put yourself in the characters shoes so you can experience things as they would. I can’t wait to read more from EL in the future.

This installment see's all of the couples struggling to be together in the end. While this book centers more around Blade and Celeste, on the peripheral is Bree and Cypress and Amelia with Ace and Evan. As the dance continues we are shown more depth of the characters and the drive to find their HEA's. There is angst and drama at throughout, but the ending is sweet. Thank you E.L. Todd for the journey you took me on with the three books.

This cannot be read as a stand alone book. You need to read both 400 First Kisses and 325 First Fight before this. In the first two books, and even at some points during this, I thought that I would have preferred three separate books. One book for Cypress and Bree, another for Ace, Evan and Amelia with a third for Blade and whomever. However when I gave myself time to think it over I actually now prefer this format. Yes you are balancing quite a few different plot lines in your head BUT this was showed the depth of love and friendship between all 5 characters. As all their love stories were running concurrently, it also prevented any overlap of information in books. Also, no matter how well a series of books is written, if each one focuses on a separate couple then, even if they feature heavily in subsequent books, the dynamics of their relationship are always missing.

One of the things I loved about this was how human some of the decisions, and also indecisions, were. Cypress had worked hard to prove his love for Bree and his determination not to give up reinforced that. The whole crux of this plot line is whether she can learn to forgive and let go again, I could understand her difficulty with this and for me all her actions and reactions were really human.

At the end of book 2 I really disliked Amelia's seemingly stupid repeated action . In this book she is torn between Evan and Ace. At the end of book 1 I would have been #TeamAce the whole way. However some very clever writing by the author had me really liking Evan and I felt as torn between these two men as Amelia was. I have a love-hate relationship with love triangles - especially when both guys are decent because you know someone is going to end up devastated. Whilst Evan had been the biggest $**t going when he cheated on and divorced Amelia, in this book we see another side of him. We see a truly contrite man desperate to win back his wife/ex-wife and be the husband she deserves.

Then we have Blade, in love for the first time ever, trying to persuade Celeste to stay in the US with him. There are some shocking revelations in that quarter and an awful lot of angst. Of all the characters in the book I struggled to connect to Celeste. Partly because we never 'hear' her voice but also because (and this is where the half star went) too much of the interaction between her and Blade were sex scenes. I love a very steamy read and don't mind sex scenes or graphic detail BUT I would have liked more 'connecting with the other person' scenes between Blade and Celeste because actually, unlike the other couples, I wasn't convinced by this relationship. It seemed to be more lust than love.

Some people get HFN's, some get HEA's and one or two walk away with a broken heart. I loved the scene near the brown door with the ivy and I may have joined in with the crying. I personally felt that the epilogue was a little unnecessary, but it was sweet and tied things up in a bow.

I do rate and recommend this trilogy of books.

This summary makes you think that we’re still fairly focused on Bree and Cypress, but this time around we actually get to see a lot more about from Amelia/Ace and even Blade. Their stories really propel this third installment forward, giving us a glimpse into what’s going on in everyone else’s lives.

Bree and Cypress of course continue to be a focus, watching what happened at the end of the last book cause struggles in this book. I have to give Cypress a lot of credit for how much he still stays with Bree even with how she plays with his heart and emotions. Every time he starts to make progress she goes back into her head and messes with him some more. He makes progress, gets Bree into the sense of dating and being a married couple and all of a sudden, her insecurities come up when he sees Vanessa, the woman that Cypress cheated on her with all those years ago and that makes her run. Add to that she learns that Cypress kissed someone (or someone kissed him) after her accident and that causes her to run again, making it impossible for them to be together.

If that roller coaster wasn’t enough, we get to watch Amelia play games. (frankly i like her but not so much here). Evan, her ex-husband finds a way to eke back into her life and into her family, and in a moment of weakness when Amy feels bad for herself because Ace walked away from her, she sleeps with Evan and that muddies the water. Evan thinks that he’s going to have a chance to get back with Amelia, and she even believes that it could be possible. Ace being the amazing guy that he is, he walks away – he doesn’t want to get his heart broken and he doesn’t want to force a family to split so he’s miserable but he also knows that it could be worse.

What happens here is that Amelia is forced to make a decision that will leave someone destroyed, and they go bachelorette style where she has to date both Evan and Ace to help make her choice. I don’t care for this frankly – i think that she’s not being fair to either but who am i to say anything right?

Then there’s Blade. The guy that we don’t know much about since we don’t even really get to see too much of his personality in other books, but at least this is his chance. We finally watch him get smitten with someone, a girl name Celeste who owns a bakery in Carmel, who’s French, sexy, independent and yet only spends some of the year in the US because she’s got family friends and a business in Paris as well. Oh yea and a boyfriend. So you an imagine the mess that this creates when Blade falls for her, realizes that she’s likely going to go back to Paris and then learns that she’s with someone else. He walks away after putting an ultimatum out there and what results is a very sad. Blade.

Where we end this trilogy is a place where we have hope and want to have hope for these friend and we want to see love and romance win out. I don’t know if that’s possible but i think that we can all hope for the silver lining. It seems like it could happen until an accident happens AGAIN and causes another head injury and puts us potentially back to where we started.

You need to read this one to see where this roller coaster lets us off because it’s a wild ride and there isn’t a moment to breathe before another loop comes along.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 perfect ending stars.

I never doubted it, but I seriously fell in love with this series, and each individual character who lived their own lives with their own problems. Time heals old wounds, but a new wounds arise each one of these dynamic group will face fear, make heartbreaking decisions, and move on with their lives.

This story is not a stand alone and should be read in order. If you don't wish for spoilers stop reading this review right now.

So as Bree finds her perfection in Cypress, the man that she fell for, then destroyed her then to win her back in the sweetest of ways. But just when things are perfect, one last hiccup will threaten everything they have worked for. Bree has relied on her sister, Amelia (Amy) to bring the past to the forefront, but one accident will once again throw her marriage to Cypress into the ocean. For Cypress winning Bree back was his only plan, and nuts tub are perfect yet another rock smashes the glass of Bree ‘s heart. This will be the final fight, he can't keep going back and forth with her. She wants to try everything or he’ll walk away with nothing!

Amy has enough going on in he life right now, between a husband who wants her back permanently and lover Ace she is caught in a triangle of epic proportions. Having Bree offside as well will kill her. Her sister is her everything and losing her is not an option.... So while the boys do territory thing Amelia tries to make a mends with Bree. As single mother Amelia just wants to be loved, treasured, everything Ace is and does for her, but now ex husband Evan is back she will have to make the biggest decision of her life. The man whom she fell in love with, married and had 2 beautiful girls to, or the man who makes be feel line she’s the only woman in the world? Ace stands up for what he wants, but it may be ask to late.

Finally the last of this team, Blade, he can’t cut a break until Celeste walks into his life. She’s driven, smart and stunning. This poor sap never had a chance to win her as he finds out she has a boyfriend waiting for her in Paris. His world crumbles around him as he falls more in love with her. With the ultimate ultimatum, Blade will put everything on the line. It’s all or nothing, in yet another triangle, not everyone will get their perfect answer.

Some will proceed, others will be left heartbroken, but for me as a reader, I was left further sucked into the world of Bree, Cypress, Amelia, Ace and Blade more than ever... I want more of them, their future’s , their everything’s 💜💛💚💙

3.5 Stars

Well all good things must come to end and I have to say this journey was very interesting. Since this book is the ending of the series I don’t want to say too much and give any spoilers. We do get the conclusion of all three storylines and I can’t lie some were more interesting than others.

Spoilers:

Ok so I’m lost as to why Vanessa suddenly shows up repeatedly now when she never did before? To be honest, I thought perhaps Vanessa was the person who hit Bree with the car which caused her brain trauma.

The Ace, Amelia and Evan storyline was soooo frustrating and sad. I DID NOT want to feel bad for Evan, the buttmole! Now I understand that Amelia went through a lot but, geez, that girl used depression as a reason for every wrong thing she did.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I wasn’t a major fan of Celeste; I didn’t hate her or anything, I just didn’t connect with her.

Now the reason for my rating is because although the ending was beautiful, I felt this book was just a repetition of book 2. More Bree dumping and taking back Cypress, more Cypress saying he’s done trying to please Bree but then he tries to get her back, more tortured Ace, more of depressed Amelia; it just became a little too repetitive.

Now the one thing that I always wanted to know from the beginning of the series was: what was it exactly that convinced Bree to give Cypress another chance the first time? Cypress said she broke off their arrangement then came back to him later on, saying she wanted to give their relationship a real shot. Maybe I missed it but I can’t find it anywhere in this book.

WOW!! What an epic conclusion to this series. From the beginning I was so intrigued by this story. The characters were amazing and the story line flowed between all the characters and the problems they were dealing with seamlessly.

Cypress and Bree were still trying to get it right and after the cliffhanger in book 2, it was a bit dubious whether they would be able to work things out. Cypress is even more amazing in this book, if that is even possible. His love for Bree is unwavering. I freaking love him.

The story that broke my heart the most was Amelia and Ace’s. OMG! I was bawling because again, it seems this author has a way of getting around my cold heart when it comes to cheaters. I never thought I could feel sorry for Evan. I definitely don’t want to spoil this one but keep your tissues handy.

Blade and Celeste…now here’s an interesting plot twist. Suffice it to say that Blade has one hell of a mountain to climb to get Celeste to choose him. It seems everything is going smoothly, as they spend more time together and get to know each other. Until a major bump in the road threatens to end Blade’s relationship with his dream woman.
These three stories are amazing by themselves but together, it’s just brilliant. I’m sad it’s over. I’m going to miss these characters.

That epilogue…OMG!!! PERFECT!

This was just an amazing ride from beginning to end. I think what I enjoyed most was their friendship. The 5 characters involved loved each other so much and would do anything for the other. It made the story so endearing and heartwarming. E.L. Todd hit it out of the park with this series.

i actually enjoyed the first two books but this one was such a letdown. had to dock three stars because of blade and amelia, i’m sorry.

i couldn’t care less about what happened to blade. reading from his pov made me want to tear my hair out. he was so immature, and his chapters read like a horny thirteen year old after losing his virginity. it was awful. he was insufferable.

and amelia? god i couldn’t stand her wishy washy ass even more. i would like and sympathize her better had she had more self respect. she was too pathetic. i didn’t even care that she was using ace for sex because he made her feel wanted, like a woman. i mean it’s what she deserved. but then she jumped into bed with her ex-husband so easily when he decided he wanted her back. like? he didn’t even have to do much.

the worst part of it all? she even kissed her sister’s husband… she blamed it all on feeling lonely and the wine or whatever. and it just made me hate her even more. because this seemed to be like a pattern with her.

and when she made ace wait while she wanted to decided between him and her cheating ex-husband? i was so done. skimmed through all her chapters.

The third and final book in the First Series was an awesome read. We find out what happens in the lives of Bree and Cypress, Amelia, Ace, and Evan, Slade and Celeste. The book is filled with doubts, demons from the past, understanding, heartbreak, and love. Will Bree forgive Cypress and Bree? Will Amelia decide who she wants to spend her life with? Will Cypress and Bree get back together? Will Slade win Celete’s love? You definitely want to read this book to find out how everyone’s life turns out.
E.L. shows us her great talent as a writer in this final book of the series. She has taken her plot and her characters to a new high in this book. The characters are two dimensional and bring us their emotions. The plot takes its path with a few twist and turns. I received an ARC and I leaving a honest and voluntary review.

218 First Hugs is the 3rd and final book in the First Series. I could not wait to see how everything ended. As always, I was not disappointed. E.L. Todd has a way of writing a stories that completely captivates the reader. This book can't be read as a standalone. It picks up with Bree and Cypress trying to find their way back to each other or walk away. The Amelia, Ace and Evan love triangle becomes truly heartbreaking. Blade and Celeste's relationship takes a very unexpected turn. I love these characters. Their heartbreak and struggles will bring you to tears. The love and support they all have for one another is truly inspiring. Prepare yourself for lots of twists and turns. This is so much more than a 5 star read!

I didn't like this series at all. It was mostly taken over by the other characters in the book. Bree and Cypress took a backseat. Cypress didn't even get his own POV which I didn't understand. She gave everyone else one. Your guess is as good as mine. We didn't get to see Bree's life before, or during her accident. To be honest these FMC's weren't that great to be fighting over. The men neither. Disappointed. And the epilogue wasn't that great. We didn't get to see into the future. She just hits her head again to wake up and remember everything from the past. Even the thing's she had forgotten the first time around. I'm not sure that's how amnesia works. This author makes it seem like we can just keep hitting amnesia victims on the head, and sooner or later they'll remember everything 🤷.

Bree's sister kissed Cypress, admits she'd have taken it further if he didn't stop her, and then blames it on her depression. I'm sorry but mental health issues are not an excuse for shitty behavior, and I'm tired of books being written like the depressed person is the victim. I understand that there used to be a stigma, and it's not 100% better yet, but FFS ppl get help and do better. Kissing your sister's husband is NEVER ok whether you're depressed, lonely, drunk, etc. I think Bree should've never spoken to Amelia again. Sorry, not sorry. Also, Amelia who was so upset previously about Ace not wanting to be with her, then plays games with him and Evan?! Amelia should've ended up alone and miserable. Ace and Bree deserved better.

The first 2 books got 5 star. This one was a big let down.
Just got gross.

Only thing that pulled it back that I was starting to think E.L Todd was going to do was give Bree her memory back.
Glad they were happy in the end.

It’s the women. The men are great. Love they all want a family someday.

Amelia. She was behaving like a slut. Really terrible person.
Willing to sleep with both men on their dates competing for her affection. But I’m so glad she didn’t even finish her date with Evan. Only thing that saved her just a smidge in my eyes.

Celeste. She’s just gross for her open relationship.
And then she initially picked Henry.

Let me down this book.

Ahh!! I couldn't wait to read the final conclusion to this series!! So many questions that I needed answered! Will Bree finally move forward with Cypress and finally forgive him? Will Amelia take Evan back or will she end up with Ace?! And what's going on with Blade and Celeste? Will he win the girl or will she go back to her lover in France?! So many decisions!! I love the way this series ended!! Great ending to a great series!!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left my honest review.

This is the conclusion of this series and while I was annoyed with breeze character for the first half of the book, I loved her by the end. Cypress was amazing from the start of the series to the end of the series, well I can’t to start start of the series but if you read the first book you know what I mean. Then we have Ace and Amelia and I really loved both of their characters. While I love Blade, he honestly just didn’t do it for me. I really enjoyed the whole series though what a little bit a mystery, steam factor, humor, it was all rolled into one enjoyable series. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
