The Game

Grant has a great idea, but he needs someone’s help to make it happen and that person will only help him if someone falls in love with him. Grant thinks that Abby is the perfect woman for it. Abby is his new personal assistant. She has to move in with Grant, because he works from home and then she’s always available to him. Grant tries to spend much time with Abby, but she keeps her distant. Grant will have to work hard to make Abby fall in love with him.

I liked the characters, but I liked Grant the most. Grant is smart, rich, determined and confident. He has a dream and worked hard on it. He wants it to succeed and will do anything for it. Grant wants Abby and that want only grows stronger the more time he spends with her. She’s different than other women. It’s refreshing for him.

Abby is kind, nice and shy. She likes her old boss a lot and she isn’t too sure about her new one, but she’s determined to make it work. She works hard. Abby connects easily with Grant’s staff. They take care of her and Abby likes to talk with them. Grant learns Abby to accept some things and I especially loved the epilogue.

I didn’t hate nor love The Game. It sometimes felt rushed and I never really connected to the characters. I also didn’t understand why Grant did what he did when Abby first visited his home. It isn’t the best action if you want someone to fall in love with you. I would have stayed even further and longer away than Abby did.

The Game by Kira Blakely a winning five star read. Kira Blakely has fast become the author I tell people they must read when they ask for a recommendation, I have loved everything I have read by her and this is no exception. It’s a standalone read, but you may have seen one or two of the characters in Untamed by Kira Blakely.
Grant Ainsworth Herbert is a man with a plan, his grandfather threatens to cut him off so he goes out of his way to prove he doesn’t need him, but in doing so he has to get a woman to fall in love with him. Grant must get a woman to love him after he asks his ex to help him by putting her name on his app, but after he broke her heart she won’t let him off easy. The woman he chooses is his new PA.
Abagail Gomez simply thinks she is starting a new job, but when it develops into so much more her life starts changing quicker than she can imagine, the problems she faces will bring her to a place where her life may never be the same, secrets will be revealed and she will be shaken. Will Grant be there to pick her up, or will she pick herself up?

Abby Gomez has just started a new position as a personal assistant for a tech CEO. On her very first day she finds her new boss Grant in a very compromising position over his desk, but he is not embarrassed or ashamed in the least.

Grant takes what he wants, when he wants and he’s always able to find a more than willing woman to meet his needs. The problem is, is that now he needs a favour from one of his exes and she’s not giving him the time of day until he can prove that he’s changed his ways.

He needs to send a woman who has genuinely fallen in love with Grant to speak with his ex about the business arrangement, before she’ll consider supporting his project.

Game on. Grant hires Abby with her in mind as the perfect candidate to fall for him. She’s young, single, seems easily influenced, but his charms and power do not work on Abby as he expected. She’s been through a lot in her short life and is much tougher than she seems. She’s not going to be bulldozed and used as a billionaire’s plaything.

The one thing Grant didn’t take into consideration is that he might actually start to fall for Abby. She’s strong, smart and sexy and completely catches Grant off guard. This was supposed to be a game, with him as the lone winner, but now that he’s having feelings for Abby, he’s not so willing to trade her affections for a business arrangement anymore.

I thought Grant and Abby had great chemistry and I loved watching him fall for her. The twists near the end completely caught me off guard, but I do see how it brought some closure to those involved. Overall another great romance by Kira Blakely!

Abigail turns out to be the one he had been missing in his life. Grants own PA is more hot than he thought and she is what he wants to keep.
A sweet story line about how to break down the wall that are around his heart. How to become alive and realise what you have been missing out on.
As always Kira Blakely has delivered an amazing story which caught me from the first chapter. Very well written and with lots of steamy chemistry between the two main characters. Both have got big family issues that has to be worked out before they can go on and have their HEA.
This story has twists and turns and is a sweet romance read. It is not that predictable as many stories are and that was only a plus.
If you do not count the timeline issues and the lack of explanations of some things in the story, it is a great and recommendable read if you like romances.

This is a hot and sexy adult romance story. I loved the story although at times it had me madder than hell. Grant a sexy billionaire hunk of man candy and Abby a beautiful strong woman that has deep emotional damage is too be his personal assistant,and Grant needs her to fall in love with him to help him get his ex's permission an endorsement for his new apps for woman. But both damaged people find love happens when you least expect it an no matter how you fight it.I think this panty melting story is a great read. I can't wait to see what's next by this multi talented author. I voluntarily decided to review this arc because it's a great adult romance story.

I was hooked on The Game from page one. The characters have depth, a past that has shaped who they are now and lots of chemistry. The book is filled with secrets, lies, suspense, passion and lots of emotion. Once again Ms. Blakey doesn't disappoint her readers...this is definitely a one-click read. This book was given in exchange for an honest review.

Headline: I have voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC version of The Game by Kira Blakely.

I really enjoyed this book. Kira did a wonderful job writing about Abby and Grant and their journey. I love how it actually goes through the whole thing. The HEA was nearly perfect. Every time I thought we were getting to the wind down another twist happened and I loved it. This was an all-around great book and I would recommend to any romance lover. Happy reading!
P.s. this was me halfway through the book.

What fresh hell is this? DNF right after they met...why? Because the first meeting was after she watched him having sex with another woman...and watching him orgasm...and then pulling up his pants and walking over to introduce himself.

Jesus Christ...romance novels should not include this, let alone start with it. Uggghhhhh.

Kira Blakely doesn't disappoint. A PA starts a new job, not knowing she's the center of a challenge between colleagues. Tragedy, triumph, love, hate, sex, fear, family, death, & an unexpected baby.
If you want something to capture your attention, this one surely will!!

Grant wants to start his own company to get out from under his grandfather's control. Lindsey told Grant that if he could get a female to truly love him, then she would endorse his app. Grant saw his best friend's assistant, Abigail Gomez, and knew that the repressed and uptight female would be easy to manipulate. After offering Abigail more money and getting his friend's approval, Abigail went to work as Grant's assistant. When Abigail meets her boss, Grant, for the first time he is having sex with some random woman in his office. From this point on Grant make it his mission to get into Abigail's pants instead of actually getting to know her as a person. Abigail keeps pushing Grant away because she does not want to become needy and depend on a man like her mother. Can Grant take the time to get to know Abigail and manage to get past her defenses to get her to love him and save his company?

The author does a great job of character development with Grant and Abigail and shows the reader glimpses of the awful pasts that shaped them as individuals. I felt that perhaps that Grant falls in love too fast for being such a womanizer. However, I think that it is their lack of family and loss of mothers at such a young age that solidify the bond between Grant and Abigail. There was plenty of chemistry between Grant and Abigail with a bit of drama and suspense thrown in too. I am a big fan of Ms. Blakely's writing and she never fails to disappoint.

When Grant wants his ex girlfriend to let him use her name for an app he is developing she tells him if he can make a woman fall in love with him she would endorse him. Well Grant has tried plenty of women but his ex Lindsay has managed to disprove every one showing that they were fake so he convinced his friend to give him his personal assistant Abby.
Abby is a little confused but it pays better and she could use a change but she is overwhelmed by the looks alone of her new boss, however she puts her game face on and fights her attraction to him.
One drunk party later they end up together to which Abby tells Grant it can't happen again so Grant tries a different approach to win her heart but that fails so he gives up and goes away not telling her where he is. When papers show up that have to be signed Abby tracks him in the woods with his bodyguard/ friend Roger and they make up. When Abby and Grant begin to share Abby suggests that Lindsay's name on his App would be perfect so she goes to talk to her and convinces her to do it but she says something that bothers Abby. Abby shrugged it off but when they go to London and one of the maids says the same Abby can't deny her suspicions any longer and leaves Grant.
Grant realizes how much he loves Abby and Abby knows she loves Grant but she doesn't know if she can trust him because her mother trusted her stepfather and he left to her causing her murder. The secrets that Grant and Abby find on this journey will make or break their relationship and the story will give you so many twists and turns you will be curious the entire time.

Grant has to make a success of his company or find himself under his grandfather’s thumb for the rest of his life. He’s developed some apps for women but needs his ex’s name attached to really make them successful. The only problem? He broke her heart and she’s not inclined to help him. But, the ex tells Grant that, if he can actually make a woman fall in love with him, she’ll do it. So far though, he’s sent her women that she’s all too easily been able to turn against Grant, so it’s certainly not real love. When Grant hires Abby to be his personal assistant, it’s with a carefully crafted plan to win her love. Abby isn’t very easily persuaded though, and in the process of winning her heart Grant realizes the he’s the one who has fallen in love!

This setup has all the makings of a nuclear bomb blowing up in Grant’s face. Add to it the surprises surrounding Abby’s mother’s death and Grant’s ice cold, manipulative grandparents and it’s just one big, entertaining mess. In this book, it was the heroine who really shined through for me. Abby had a painful past which she moved beyond to become a strong woman who knows her own mind and is confident in the person she has become. I really enjoy Ms. Blakely’s books because the reader can skim along the surface and read only for enjoyment, or pause and discover the deeper, more valuable subtext, and this one is certainly worth the read.

Kira has done it again.
Grant Ainsworth is a man with a mission. He is out to prove to his grandfather that he can make it in the business world. He has developed apps that will take his business to the next level. the catch - he needs an ex Lindsey Holland to endorse them. Lindsey told him she would only endorse them if he found someone who would fall in love with him for him. Enter Abigail Gomez.
Abigail is going to be the new PA for Grant. She has heard many things about him but she trying to not have them cloud his view. Their initial meeting is a shock to Abigail when she sees him having sex with another woman on his desk.
As Grant tries to weasel his way into Abigail's life and get her to fall for him, a feat he believes will be easy, Abigail has other thoughts.
As these two dance around their attraction to each other a funny things happens - the find out they like each other. Grant is surprised that he actually has feelings for Abigail.
Abigail goes to see Lindsey to see if she will help with the apps unaware of the proposition that she made Grant.
This story is a romance with some twist involved. Not everything needs to be insta love and this certainly isn't.

Grant is tired of his grandfather’s threats to disinherit him so he decides to take matters into his hands. He comes up with a plan that involves his ex, who is a psychologist, endorsing some apps for women that he developed. The only problem is their relationship did not end well and the only way she will agree is if a woman falls in love with him so Grant decides his new PA is the perfect candidate.

Abby is looking forward to her new job and she likes the financial benefits so the only drawback is to keep her attraction to her new boss under wraps. After a little too much alcohol at a party they end up sleeping together however Grant’s plans go astray when the next days she wants it back to business only.

Grant is starting to develop feelings for her but will he be able to convince her to give him a chance and what happens if she finds out about his real plan?

I loved how the characters changed as the book progress as Grant was able to put someone else’s needs before his and as Abby overcame obstacles she just became stronger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

So she is making his life harder by saying she'll consider being part of this if he makes a woman fall in love with him. This playboy doesn't want to do this but he needs her help. Abby seems like the perfect person to fall in love with him. Will he get her to fall for him? What is going to happen if he does? Will he also lose her for taking on this challenge? Y'all should read this!

I read a lot of personal assistant/boss relationships. Sometimes they get too cliche and too predictable. I feel like for this, it was different. He had this challenge that he needed to succeed, which only added more drama and suspense. It was hard knowing that this could possibly be his downfall. This book was great, I loved all the characters. I even loved his ex, I think if you created a new book with her in it, it'll be interesting.

Wow, this book is an absolute gem that you NEED to READ! From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with. Games, deals, indispensable pawn, venture and passion continue to keep you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. The story held my attention and was entertaining, but also was heartwarming and emotional. Emotions that come from letting go of the past and looking toward the future. I was fascinated with the characters of Abby and Grant and how the romantic relationship builds between the two. In order for his company to succeed, Grant accepted a challenge to get a woman to fall in love with him by an ex-lover, whom he needed to get a product of his launched. What he wasn’t expecting was the plan to change and Abby! There are several surprises and plot twists and turns within the story that makes it interesting. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

What started out as a way to prove his worth to his grandfather, so he isn't cut off from his money, becomes so much more when he find out that there is more to Abby than being a great PA. Grant is in need of a woman to pose as his "lover" for his grandfather, after he ticks off his last girlfriend she isn't willing to help him out, so he finds a person that will "work" for him and then no emotional entanglement will get in the way. Abby thought that she was going to be working as a PA for a rich and spoiled man, she doesn't have any fanciful ideas that there could be more. After tragic life circumstances Abby is trying to move on, that is until her past confronts her. Will Grant be there to help her or is Abby on her own again.

This is a great book that is intense from the very beginning. Kira is an awesome writer that captures your imagination and takes you along for the ride. Ups and downs you are never disappointed. I voluntarily read a copy and love it, I always wonder on what inspires a title and this title is spot on.

Like all Kira's books this one was amazing, how she can pack so much in such a short space continually astounds me. It is a book on love, trust, forgiveness, family (the good, the bad and the ugly of), of prejudice of race/colour/nationality, it is a story of bullying and trying to fit the mould when you are just not made that way. It is book of introspection, of letting go and it is a story of the misconceptions that can be held for a lifetime that become a boulder hanging off your shoulders. Having said all that it is first and foremost a book of the love between a man and a woman and the ups and downs that they face to get to a HEA. Like all good Kira Blakely books there are scenes that are steamy hot as well as laugh out loud moments, a tear or two might escape and fear is often present. Another brilliant read and one you won't want to miss

Had the privilege of reading and ARC copy. Kira always pulls me in and keeps me enthralled. Grant is starting an app business and needs a personal assistant. He is playing "The Game" of lying to his employee to try to get Abby to fall in love with him so he can not only make an ex jealous, but to get her to endorse his new women apps. But once he meets Abby and gets to know her he falls for her before she even starts to like him. Abby is a strong young women who has had tons of tragedy in her life since come to the United States from the Philippines when she was a young child. Seeing how hot her new boss is doesn't make work or life easy for her. She tries to ignore his advances, but her body won't let her deny what her mind thinks it want too. They both are able to work out their family issues with each other and keep the love strong!!

Wow! This story was an amazing read! I couldn’t put it down.
The story is about a man,Grant, who has grown up using women and a woman, Abigail, who has issues trusting men. It takes you through their relationship as it grows. The battles they go through. They both have demons from their past that impede their relationships with others. This book was filled with twist and turns, memories, deceit, lust, hot sexy scenes, forgiveness, and love.
Kira Blakely takes you on an amazing trip through two people filled with demons from their past. She shows an empathy and understanding of people’s inner feelings. She has the talent to bring her character’s personalities to life. She blends her main characters and the people that are also in the book. Her story line flows easily. She is indeed a talented writer.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I enjoyed this story. Abby tries to deny her heritage, hating how she was treated growing up. Grant is looking to use her heritage for his own personal gain. He believes that she will be the one he can manipulate into fooling his ex girlfriend who he wants to endorse his business since she is an admired business women. His ex has told him he must make someone fall in love with him before she will endorse his business. Since Abby denies her people she also denies who she really is and tries to hide behind trying not to stick out. She is strong due to her past, but this is a must read to find out just how much stronger she becomes because Grant tries to trick her. Also, will Grant's game be enough or will he fall victim of his own game? Who's past will truly hold them back more? Who truly makes who stronger?

Abbey goes to work for Grant after he obtains her from Mr Landers as she is told he needs her as his PA and he is offering more money. In reality he wants to make her fall in love with him to get his ex girlfriend to join forces with his company and a new app developed

Abbey is a very complex character due to issues in her past and her relationship with Grant is lovely to watch it bloom, their chemistry is amazing. There are lots of twists and turns and is not particularly predictable which is great. I will admit that the story is more interesting than I thought it would be and is actually a fantastic read, I highly recommend this book

This was a great story. Grant is looking to launch some new apps for women and he wants an ex-girlfriend of his to put her name on the apps. His ex-girlfriend says the only way she will endorse his apps is if he can get a woman to truly fall in love with him. So Grant tries sending some women her name but they can't convince her they are in love plus she turns them against him. Grant finally hires Abby as his personal assistant and sets out to seduce her and make her fall in love with him. His plan works out really well, only he falls in love with Abby as well. Grab this book to fund out what happens when she finds out the truth. Will their love survive? Will Grant's grandfather tear them apart? This is a definite must read.
