The Sleeper SEALs are former U.S. Navy SEALs recruited by a new CIA counter-terror division to handle solo dark ops missions to combat terrorism on US soil.
MICHAEL's MERCY
When things go bad, in Michael’s world things go horribly, terrifyingly bad.
It’s been a year since hardened Navy SEAL Michael Stanton walked away from his career. He never thought to go back, but then his former commander calls with the news that an old friend was murdered while undercover – and he needs Michael’s help.
Knowing the next dead body might be his, Michael takes his friend’s place at the home of a terrorist. His official mission is to find all he can to bring the man’s operation down. His personal mission is to find out who murdered his friend.
Mercy got the job as a maid that her sister had last held – just before she disappeared. With the police lacking leads and interest, Mercy decides it’s up to her to find out what happened. Inside the huge home, she meets Michael and becomes immediately suspicious ... and immediately attracted.
When they collide in the worst way possible, she realizes he's not who he seems either.
Can they each find the truth about their objectives and about themselves? Or will the terrorist get wind of the traitors in his midst and take care of them before they can take care of him?
Each story in this multi-author branded series is a standalone novel and the series can be read in any order.

There was very little romance. No "I love you" was exchanged. No pet names. There wasn't an epilogue about the couple. The story just ended with them agreeing to see where they relationship were. It was lacking.
The entire story takes place in a mansion. She's there as a maid and he plays the gardener. So boring. I skipped a lot of pages. The mystery only concludes in the last pages and before that the reader is in limbo.
I didn't like how the heroine portrayed her sister. She was murdered in cold blood and the heroine laments that they hadn't seen each other in years and that it was so untypical of her sister to actually work. And then she decides to take her place, where her sister was murdered, and of course she doesn't fear anything or anyone. Just does these maid-things and being TSTL, all the while using her real name, address and credit card number. Yeah, no comment from me.
It was an ok story, but didn't held my interest. There's no connection between the main MC's. So I'm going to abandon this series and I'm going back to Susan Stokers books.
Is it because this latest installment in the Heroes for Hire series is also part of the Sleeper SEALs series that it was so good? This was so much better than most of the books in this series. It was mystery from page one! It was intriguing and definitely a page turner! Both Michael and Mercy were superb in their roles and quite cute together as a couple! The only predictable thing in this book was knowing Michael and Mercy were going to end up together, but that was a nice given. It was a refreshing change not having Levi and his people meddling and trying to matchmake. Everything happened at its own pace and that made the story so much more enjoyable.
Overall this was a very good read and I can only hope the next book falls in line with this one because I was literally at the end of my seat glued to this book, page after page because I just had to see what happened! It was really good!
This book is not only part of the Heroes for Hire series but also part of the multi-author Sleeper SEALs series. Even so it can be read as a stand alone novel. I think because it was part of the Sleeper SEALs series it was a little different from the previous Heroes books. This book focused less on the "hero" or "keeper" theme and more on the actual suspense element that brought the two main characters together. I have to say I enjoyed this one more than the other recent books for that very reason. So while there was a romantic aspect, the suspense was more prominent in the plot. The epilogue for this book does set up the characters for the next in the Heroes for Hire series.
We're getting the band back together. Oh wait, same idea, wrong term. Greg, a former commander and SEAL, retired four years ago, and then his wife died before they could enjoy it as planned. When he's at his usual poker game with some high ranking friends, he's presented with an offer to not only fight terrorism, but to lead a team again, though this time everyone will work a mission on their own and he'll oversee all of it. He's missing his wife, their kids are grown and in college, and he's bored out of his mind. Of course he's going to accept.
Michael left the SEALs a year ago after being injured and has made peace with his new life as a civilian. He has become burnt out, suffering from nightmares of all he'd seen and done, and he knew it was time to leave. But, when his old commander calls, sharing the news a former teammate had been murdered while undercover, Michael doesn't hesitate to accept the opportunity to find out what happened to Sammy. Sammy was a multi-tasking employee for a man many viewed as respectable, honorable. Michael will unearth his secrets if he has any.
Mercy and her older sister, Anna, didn't have a pleasant childhood, nor were they all that close despite Mercy's efforts to the contrary. Anna rebelled against their strict and perfection loving mom after repeatedly falling short of her expectations. Instead, she lived her way, wild, and Mercy lost all contact with her. She tried to reconnect with her, but was rebuffed. She receives the heartbreaking news Anna was murdered, and know she needs answers. So, taking compassionate leave from her job, she applies for and is offered Anna's now vacant job as a maid for a highly thought of politician.
Michael and Mercy are hired a day apart, both there with alternative motives though they are the same, to determine who is responsible for the death of someone they cared about. Though both knew they were being watched, neither had any idea as to the depth of their employer's scrutiny. Michael and Mercy are also aware of each other, and when Michael discovers Mercy's connection to Anna, he knows she could not only endanger herself, but also his quest for answers.
As they both work toward finding the answers to the death of those they cared about, a connection between the two is steadily growing, as is the attraction, and it's becoming so much more than a side effect due to proximity. However, danger is all around them, and it may get even closer, as those responsible for the murders look to vanquish anyone that may ruin their plans.
Will Michael and Mercy find justice for Sammy and Anna? Will Mercy risk everything to learn what happened to Anna? Even if it puts Michael, and herself, at risk? Can Levi and Ice convince Michael to join their company? Will Michael and Mercy have a chance at forever? Or will the opportunity be taken away before they even have the chance?
One-click now and follow along as two people, determined to do right by a loved one, find the truth and so much more.

"Michael's Mercy" by Dale Mayer
My Thoughts...
This author gives the reader quite a interesting read dealing with the special ops/ navy seal type of military read which dealt with Michael Stanton and Mercy. I liked how these two were brought together giving the reader a 'cute couple' that were out to solve the mystery of what had happened to a another operative [Sammy] and a estranged sister of Mercy [Anna]. With Michael [ex Navy SEAL] working as a gardener/driver and Mercy working as a maid will they be able to pull off their role and come together and solve what was going on with these terrorists and not get caught while being undercover while working for this prominent future politician? Be ready for a little bit of it all ...from the attraction, drama, suspense, emotions, murder, romance, adventure, and all of the dilemmas of some very interesting intriguing dimensional characters. Will Michael and Mercy make it out alive? Well, you will just have to pick up this novel to see how this author will bring it all out to the readers.
This was a entertaining enjoyable story that will keep your attention all the way till the end.
Michael’s Mercy is jam packed full of intrigue, suspense and romance. Not only do we get a story with new characters but avid fans of Dale Mayer’s will love seeing some of the characters from the Heroes for Hire series.
Michael and Mercy are two of those characters that fit perfectly together. Both are trying to find out what happened to their loved ones, and they find love themselves. Mercy is that strong willed, sometimes frustrating, and persevering heroine. Michael is the perfect loyal, dedicated, selfless Alpha and together they make a great team.
I highly recommend Michael’s Mercy and all the books in Sleeper SEALs series to any military romance reader out there. Not only will they get a taste of each author involved in the series but they will get to meet many new characters to fall in love with.
This is the tenth book in the Heroes for Hire series and the third book in the Sleeper SEALs series that can be read as a stand-alone.
A Navy SEAL is murdered, execution style, while undercover investigating a suspected terrorist cell on US soil, a woman he became involved with on the premises was also killed for her association with him. The subject under surveillance is a wealthy Texas man with future political aspirations.
Retired Navy SEAL Michael Hampton is pulled back into action, by his former commander who now heads a clandestine counter-terrorism division outside of the normal military chain, to find out what happened to a murdered SEAL and to complete the special dark operations mission the man had been on. Michael left the service to recover from burnout and to have some semblance of a normal life, which is working his Texas ranch. He’s refused prior attempts to recruit him back into action but the deceased SEAL had been a friend, the brother-in-arms that everyone in their unit always looked out for so Michael couldn’t decline the assignment. Taking his friend’s place as the gardener/chauffeur of the target’s estate he’ll find out what’s going on and avenge his friend. He’s not the only new hire, the woman who’d also lost her life was replaced with a woman who doesn’t really fit in.
When the police informed Mercy Romano of the death of Anna, her estranged older sister providing little information about the life she’d led or why she’d been murdered Mercy took a leave of absence from her marketing job to work as the maid of an estate, the same job her sister held to discover what happened, what her life had been like, to somehow touch the sister she’d missed. Anna had been the wild child who walked away from the family years ago, Mercy hadn’t been able to reconnect with her and wants answers. She’s over her head with the physical labor she’s not used to and the danger of her task but she’s not giving up. She’s observant of people and knows that the other new hire is not the landscaper he seems, an intense tightly wound man that does not fit the mold of his profession.
There’s a definite dark mystery at the estate, lots of rules to abide by and restricted areas and curfews. Both Michael and Mercy separately wonder what is going on and what is being hidden from view. Both undercover from the boss and undercover from each other but Michael’s connections learn who Mercy really is and he confronts her, the outcome of that conversation not to his expectation. They are strong determined individuals brought together by similar objectives, working together, protecting each other. It was adorable how they became heroes to each other, Mercy was gutsy and as protective as Michael with an unerring ability to sense what he’d been hiding from himself since he’d retired.
That this book didn’t focus on the “keeper” theme of the Heroes for Hire series which often seems like exercises in matchmaking was a nice change. This is true romantic suspense, two people meet amid an action and suspense backdrop not having thought about the possibilities of finding or not finding a love beforehand to realize they have an attraction they’d like to explore in between staying alive. These two made a cute couple who improvised rather well as they navigated the dangerous territory they were in and the feelings evoked for the other. This reader loved what began as a marketing scene, appearances became all too real with the chemistry that existed between Mercy and Michael. Though the mystery was solved a clear update of exactly what the villain had been planning domestically was missing.
An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.
This was an action packed suspenseful romance in this multi author series with Michael finding purpose in his life again by joining this private group to solve the murder of his SEAL comrade Sammy. He had to go undercover at the estate owned by Freeman and work as a gardener replacing Sammy who someone killed along with a woman named Anna. There was a new maid that was hired the same time as him, Mercy. As it turns out she was the dead woman's sister who came on her own to uncover who killed her sister. The story gets suspenseful when these two start working together to solve these murders and take down the killers and fall in love at the same time. As he was set on protecting her at all costs she was just as determined to help and protect him. It was very exciting as the secret group with Levi and Ice helping them take down the bad guys before more people turned up dead because of Freeman's ruthlessness. Almost being killed themselves they survive and are determined to stay together forever after what they endured. He decided to join the group permanently and come out of retirement but only with her by his side to. They relocated and bought ground by the compound owned by this secret group together to get their happily ever after and Michael got over his PTSD and Mercy found closure for her sisters death with their love for each other. All of these books in this series have been fantastic and I cannot wait to read the next suspenseful romance in this series.
Michael's Mercy is book 3 in the Sleeper Seals series and after reading the previous two books this one was just as good. I haven't read any of Dale Mayer's Heroes For Hire series but have the first three books loaded onto to my Kindle to catch up. It was action packed from the first page to the end.
Michael Stanton walked away from the Navy SEALs but when his former commander calls to ask him to take on a new type of Sleeper Seals, but when Greg mentions that his brother in arms Sammy has been killed he doesn't hesitate to help find his killers. When he gets to the estate as acting gardener Michael knows that there is something really wrong. He meets Mercy the new housemaid who has taken her late sister's place they both decide to figure out what is going on and how to stop it. Levi and Ice want desperately to recruit Michael for their business and hope that if they help Mercy and Michael perhaps he'll join them.
Even though Mercy and her sister weren't really close to her wild child sister there are too many questions as to why Anna killed with Sammy. But the job proves to be exhausting and she finds that everyone seems to watching both of them closely. Michael fins a jump drive that was left by that will help solve their murder . When secrets are revealed by Michael, Levi, Ice and Mercy it will take everyone to stop the shipment of arms and find Sammy and Anna killers.
Michael Stanton was hired by the CIA's special ops division of Sleeper Seals to help fight terrorism within the United States. He was retired and really didn't want to get back into that world. However, his brother seal Sammy was murdered on a mission. So, Michael decided to find out who killed him and why. He also wanted to take them down if he could. While he was there, he met Mercy, who was there to find out what happened to her sister Anna. But neither one of them new why the other was there. So they met each other and talked. There was so much secrecy going on it was actually hard to talk without being followed or checked up on. So Michael and Mercy started to work together because things were changing fast and Mercy wasn't leaving. That's when the action started. And, of course, a bit of romance. I'm not going to say anything else. But I loved this book. It was a great read.
I'm loving this author's military romances. Strong alpha heros and their feisty women. Michael is a former SEAL recruited for an undercover mission and Mercy is a young woman determined to find out why her sister was murdered. Lot of action, drama and intense moments in this book. I was glued to my kindle hoping for a good result. The story was well paced and the characters enjoyable to read about. The couple had great chemistry and I was invested in their journey and HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Michael's Mercy is the perfect blend of gripping suspense, who done it, and with a great big love story thrown in it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Dale Meyer truly knows how to keep her reader enticed and enchanted with a story. Michael and Mercy are the perfect blend of broken souls who only needed someone who believed in them and something to believe in to be the perfect couple. Mercy is a heroine you can get behind and root for as she saves Michael as much as he saves her. A great addition to the Sleeper Seals series.
Well, this was a mild story compared to the other Sleeper Seal's books I have read so far. This story begins with Michael not wanting to get "back in the saddle" again until he found out that one of his teammates was killed. He then finds Mercy at the estate where Sammy was killed. It was a little mundane when all we read about is Michael and Mercy doing maid and gardener work. It kind of gets exciting in the last two chapters. At least these two survive and find their happily ever after! Good job Dale! I would recommend this book.
Action packed, HEA SEAL story. This one's about Michael, a retired Navy Seal who lost is wife. He's called back in by his old commander, who's working for the CIA, to solve the murder of one of his fallen brothers. Michael meets Mercy, the sister of the other murdered victim, at the estate where the murders took place. Surprise surprise Levi and Ice are in this one too, hmm wonder why? Guess you'll have to read it to see.
While writing review the stars posting keeps failing on amazon. Been waitong for Michael's story for a little while now. So glad it did not disappoint! Michael and Mercy were a good match. Both broken for different reasons and neither looking for anything except answers so the reward and outcome were that much sweeter. I really enjoyed the mystery of this book. Bravo Dale another great HEA! Write On! Davia
I love all of Dales work! Michael's Mercy is no exception! Mercy finally finds her sister, too bad she was murdered! Michael was recalled to find out how his friend died. Both end up at the same place. Once it becomes clear they are both there for the same reason, they sort of team up. Michael wants Mercy away from there to keep her safe, which she's having nothing to with. in the end it all works out in more ways than one!
The best way to sum up this book is "more please". I love Michael and his special lady and raced through the book to find out their story. It was a quick read (for me) but I enjoyed it. I love Dale Mayer and her military series (SEALS of Honor -- own them all; Heroes for Hire -- have most of them). Michael's Mercy is a part of the Heroes for Hire (a few of the Heroes wander through this book - yeah). Well done! More please!!!
I enjoyed the story line. Mercy looking for her sisters whereabouts was definitely a situation where one didnt know where to start looking. I could feel her and Michael's emotions as they looked for the answers. Definitely a must read. Cant wait to continue this series. But I am also intrigued in reading Heroes for Hire. Only problem is I don't know which series is supposed to be read first Seals of Honor, Sleeper Seals or Heroes for Hire.
It was a little slow in the beginning and a couple of times I thought that I would move onto another book but I was interested enough to find out what would happen. The ending was a little faster pace. I wondered if I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the other book in the series. I read this as part of the Sleeper’s Seal’s series. I am I interested enough that I will try another book of this author.
This is the 3rd stand alone book in the Sleeper Seals. I liked the story and the concept. Not sure if all the attention to details were necessary at the beginning, as it created hiccups in my mind as the story progressed. Very worth reading tho. More suspense/murder than Romance.
Michael and Mercy both met while undercover trying to find out how Mercys sister was killed in her job along with Sammy which was Michaels friend. Lots of mystery and trying to find out what is going on in the estate . Then surprise feelings between Michael and Mercy grow but can they stay a live to explore them?
Michael's Mercy was a good addition to both the Heroes and Sleeper Series. Michael and Mercy are trying to find out why her sister and his teammate were both killed. They both go under cover at the Estate, where Sammy and Anna worked and died. Michael will help Mercy to find the truth and Mercy will help Michael find himself again. Happy Reading!!!!📚📚📚
Making my way through the series a little late, but I'm going to see it through. This was a new-to-me author. The terrorism angle was a little unclear. The Mac Mansion having a mixed crew was also a far stretch, but the two main characters were interesting. Plot had you reaching for unforthcoming details but I liked the resolution.
This book was just ehh for me. It's my first by Dale Mayer, I listened to it while reading the sleeper seals. I thought the bad guys didn't were to fluffed up. There was very little romance and the story just sort of droned on and on. I also didn't care for the narrator's voice. He didn't have any passion.
There were many instances in this book where I would love to strangle the “heroine”, and I was just halfway through the book, she’s got such a stubborn and oblivious personality (some may argue it’s a -try looking at cup full personality) but really I just want to slap her silly just reading her character responses to situations. Ughhhh so unbelievably frustrating!
Really enjoyed Michael's Mercy! This is a stand alone book but had characters from other previous books. It was a fast pace book. The story was good. You will enjoy this quick read.
These books in the Sleeper Seal's series are all so good. They have so much action and mystery yet still have a great love story. This book was very well written and holds your interest all the way through.
I have never had the pleasure of reading aDale Mayer book prior to this one. I am glad that she is a part of the Sleeper Seals Series because I want to read more of this particular series of books she has written.
I love a good military romance. Especially the kind that jisf happen. This story just unfolded and ended with a bang! Now I’ve got to read the Heroes for Hire series when I finish the Sleeper SEALS series!! 😊
