Wilshire College is known for its high standards and low inhibitions. In this collection of short stories, watch the luckiest man on campus be sucked into a world of sex, drama and skintight uniforms, and see him realize that he may have bitten off more than he can handle.Alex wants to avoid drama at all costs. He’s a contrarian by nature and a lone wolf by inclination. He’s written off the cheerleaders, the jocks and the popular crowd as a bunch of preppy rich kids he wants nothing to do with.
However, when the head cheerleader shows interest in him, he suddenly needs to figure out how to handle the situation. Should he cut and run, or dive in and take full advantage?
Rich Richardson is a writer and internet personality who began writing at the tender age of twelve, hoisting stories about sci-fi heroes and heroines in front of his family and friends.
His body of work ranges from high concept fantasy to down to earth fiction, but he considers himself a specialist in character drama above all. To him, a setting can only be as interesting as the people living in it.
Often taking inspiration from his day to day life, the protagonist of "The Elf Maiden & The Bard" is actually based off of a D&D character he used, shortly before being ejected from the game in real life for his drunken antics. "The Cheerleader Harem" also takes place in a college town based off of the one he grew up in.
There is a lot of sex in this book, but I just couldn't get into it with the MC. It's not that the book is bad, it's just that this particular story did nothing for me.
Two issues with this I personally had. It becomes repetitive quickly and it's not a harem. Very much not. It's mostly literotica i.e porn and little else. No real character developement or anything else happens.
As for the harem part, it REALLY isn't. It's basically just a guy who is friends with benefits with a bunch of girls. All of whom are dating/seeing other guys too and no deeper interest beyond that exists. Even the girl he seems to like and want keeps seeing other guys on the regular.
This is not a harem at all. MC is a slave to pleasure, weak-willed, and emotionally inept. It is a common trope for these kinds of erotic books, I get it, but this MC has no redeeming qualities at all to alleviate those mentioned negative traits.
Male bases erotica, pure and simple, the book is no more or less than what it announces itself to be.
Its pretty shallow and full of barely motivated sex. I was bored and needed some simple entertainment.
The one thing that I find interessting and realistic in this fantasy is that each of the female characters have her own motivation, turn on and particualr kinks and that at least resonates with me as a women.
What starts off as a fun sex-romp soon becomes very repetitive. Is it erotic? no. Is it well written? kind of(ish), its just too much of the same and you start loosing track of who he's actually slept with as Alex works his way through the cheerleader squad.
