What does a pathetic class of misfits have in their arsenal to combat their schoolteacher’s alien technology, bizarre powers and...tentacles?!
Ever caught yourself screaming, “I could just kill that teacher”?
What would it take to justify such antisocial behavior and weeks of detention? Especially if he’s the best teacher you’ve ever had? Giving you an “F” on a quiz? Mispronouncing your name during roll call... again? How about blowing up the moon and threatening to do the same to Mother Earth—unless you take him out first?! Plus a reward of a cool 100 million from the Ministry of Defense!
Okay, now that you’re committed... How are you going to pull this off? What does your pathetic class of misfits have in their arsenal to combat Teach’s alien technology, bizarre powers and... tentacles?!
The battle for Koro Sensei’s life against a multinational operation’s soldiers and weaponry is difficult enough, but now his creator and former protégé, mad scientist Yanagisawa and Grim Reaper II, join the battle to destroy him—and they’ve both had major enhancements! But the stakes abruptly change when a 3-E student is fatally caught in the crossfire… If there’s one thing that enrages 3-E’s teacher, it’s harming—let alone killing—his students! Koro Sensei’s fury and ingenuity know no bounds, even as fate inexorably catches up to him…
Yūsei Matsui (松井優征 Matsui Yūsei?, born January 31, 1981 in Saitama, Japan) is a manga artist known for manga Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro. He was an assistant of Yoshio Sawai, the manga artist of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (Shirota Masakage made a cameo appearance in Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo).
Essentially the Big Finish we have been waiting 2o (you read that right, count 'em, TWENTY) volumes for, with the mop-up 21st yet to read. The set up is this, briefly. Koro Sensei, a tentacled monster, is going to destroy the planet; he becomes a teacher and challenges his low level class to kill him. But they fall in love with him, connect with his surprisingly progressive and enjoyable teaching techniques. I can't tell you how this works out, obviously, I can't say much at all, but I was both surprised and satisfied and moved with what Matsui did with this penultimate volume. I read it greedily, in one sitting. Loved it!
Part of that is simply because it's over. This has been an amazing series, and I’m glad that there's one more volume--something of a coda--to go because I'm not ready for it to be completely over yet. Having been privy to these characters’ lives for so long, they feel like old friends.
Without giving too much away, you pretty much knew it was going to have to end this way. Anything else wouldn't have been true to the integrity of the story.
The entire series, not just this volume, is highly recommended!
I’m not crying over a book about a Pervy Tentacle Monster.
It’s just raining. Inside. On my face. Maybe the roof is leaking on this perfectly sunny morning.
Stars this series is so punchy, so good, pulls up on all the emotions, is beautifully drawn, gives nearly every character due attention, likes, and dislikes despite the sheer size of the cast.
The end (I understand that the final volume is pretty much just an epilogue). Ultimately I don't know if I am better off for having got through this but it was definitely enjoyable at times and silly enough. This volume wraps up the main story in a pretty satisfying way. There's one last action set piece and the emotional beat that you knew was coming.
I hope that everyone has has a teacher that makes you feel as worthy as Koro Sensei did to his students (even though he wasn't always the best influence).
Nooooo! The ending...OMG the ending! And it's not an ending it's a "to be continued" but it's....oh the feels! Also that last wordless page is just.... beautiful.

4.5 stars
Oh, my heart. I freaking BAWLED my way through the second half of this. I genuinely didn't expect this to hit me as hard as it did. The only reason this isn't five stars is that the actual battle side of things felt like it went for a liiiiiittle too long, and as a result the second half felt very slightly rushed given the amount of emotion that happens in that second half. But all things said and done, this is a heartbreaking but phenomenal penultimate volume of this series that has brought me a lot of joy.
The creator brings all the feels as he goes all in on a Dead Poets Society/Goodbye, Mr. Chips ode to teachers...with assassinations. A strong and bold ending to a fairly consistently entertaining manga series.
So there I was, past the witching hour (let alone my bed time), full on gasping for air through suppressed sobs (so as not to wake the whole household), and I had this moment of self-awareness:
How did this author make me care so much about characters that don't even exist???
It would be impossible for me to articulate how much I have loved every second of this series. It is by far one of the best stories I have ever (and probably will ever) read, and I recommend it to literally everyone. I adore every single one of its innumerable characters, and my god, if the series has not gotten you to believe in friendship and goodness and living life to the fullest by this volume then you seriously need to see someone. Preferably someone like Koro Sensei.
I cried on this one. I expected what happened on this book to happen on the next volume, but alas I was wrong. Still, I loved how everything came together in this one. It had some shocking things apart from the last chapter that I did not see coming. Otherwise I loved it.

This was some fun and interesting ride! I really enjoyed the series as a whole! And for a series quite long it kept changing just enough to stay catching but kept the tension going over all installments!
