Michael Gilbert, a demon in hiding in the Human Realm, has finally started to climb back to the sort of lifestyle he had to leave behind when he fled his brother's assassination attempt. His first step is getting his new mining operation id southern Chile up and running. He plans to sell both minerals and raw materials for alchemists. Unfortunately, right after he takes possession of the mine, a massive earthquake causes several tunnels to collapse, and while there were no casualties, there is now a strange energy flooding the mine and his workmen refuse to enter.

In an effort to reassure his employees, Michael and his mine foreman go down into the tunnels to find the source of the strange power. Of course, after a large earthquake, one should beware of aftershocks. And when traveling into the earth in search of an unidentified power, being trapped with it could end very badly.
