Nolan worked his whole life to get there. Qualifying for the National Figure Skating Championships was the brass ring he had reached so desperately for - training incessantly, suffering agonizing injuries, heartbreaking losses, and eventually, his potentially life-altering qualification.
But the night before he is set to take to the ice, his long-time lover shatters his heart - along with his concentration. The rising star suffers a wrenching defeat - only to find out soon thereafter that he's carrying the baby of his former paramour.
Enter Matthew, the devastatingly attractive up-and-coming alpha figure skater. Matthew rolls into town and begins training alongside Nolan, and the two quickly begin to hunger for one another. As their romance develops, Nolan makes a decision: he's keeping his baby, and quitting skating for good. But he neglects to tell Matthew about the baby until after they've slept together. When Matthew discovers the truth, the revelation proves too distracting; he leaves town to prepare alone for his upcoming regional competition. But for Matthew, the distance doesn't help - the beautiful omega is never far from his thoughts.
When heartbreak and disappointment lead to unexpected passion, two men begin to discover that sometimes one road's end can lead to the beautiful beginning of another.
Unbridled passion meets dogged determination in this 50,000 word gay mpreg alpha/omega romance novel. Gliding gracefully through choreographed scenes of uninhibited lust, “Skate With Me” is exclusively intended for adult audiences.
I really enjoyed this story from Austin Bates, it's got feeling and heart and I loved these characters! Nolan is at a point in his life where he has some major decisions to make and he is struggling with it, does he choose his career as a successful figure skater or the baby he never expected to have. He doesn't expect to meet Matthew, a fellow skater but when he does the two quickly grow close.
While Nolan has come to terms with his decision about keeping his baby and his feelings for Matthew, but he hasn't told Matthew about it yet and when he does, well it certainly becomes a real test of their bond. Matthew doesn't think he's ready for parenthood and wants to focus on his career, but even with the distance he puts between them Nolan doesn't leave his mind.
I really enjoyed this journey, it isn't always easy even when it's true love. I loved seeing Matthew realizing how he actually felt and bond with Nolan's baby as these men become a family together. Austin Bates does a great job showing that sometimes life doesn't always go the way you planned but when you find the right person, you will make it work together! Another enjoyable book from Austin Bates filled with heart and love and I'm excited to see what he does next!
*I voluntarily reviewed and advanced copy of this book.
Nolan has worked really hard to become a professional ice skater but after being deceived by his partner, he finds himself in a very difficult situation. Matthew wants to be a great ice skater and the best way to become one is to train with the best one. What it started like admiration soon become love. The best book by Austin Bates till now. Although it has some problems at the beginning, Matthiew’s following Nolan looks like he is stalking him, I can see how his style of writing is getting better. Nolan’s character is very believable and the one I like best. I could feel his dilemma trying to decide what to do with his life without having to renounce to the thing he loves best. I like the way he helped Matthew smooth his movements and I like how hard Matthew worked and how devoted he was to skating. A beautiful and emotional book about how love is the great wheel that moves us through life. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I enjoyed this book, the backdrop of the skating world was o e that I found interesting as I skated a lot as a teen. I found both the MC likeable; but 're that I would have liked a little more from Matt prospective. A lot of his story is not rd and I think the book as whole would have been more cohesive if we he s rd more from Matt and could had the the opportunity relate to him more. My only other issue was I felt the end we a s too rushed - it seemed like the author was just telling us the MC finally got their HEA just to finish the book. I found its great let down, although overall I did like the book and looked forward to d reading g more as I had opportunity. I would definitely recommend this read !
MM, mpreg. Nolan has a very difficult decision to make, one that may change his career as an ice skater and future personal life. The father of his child wants nothing to do with him and is the root of his current lack of self esteem. Matthew shows up hoping to skate with Nolan and does not see one bad performance as the end of his career. Nolan is keeping the real reason deeply hidden and the truth is more than enough to shatter their fragile relationship. Both men have to make difficult decision, ones they did not think they would face any time soon. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I really like this book and loved the story but I didn't like that the story was only in Nolan's perspective and not Matthews and I also didn't like the the story was written in the 3rd person
And even though this is a minor detail MOST because I looked it up, most kids start to talk around 2 years old and in the story Axel didn't start talking until he was 4 and a half years old so I would say that a character mistake in my opinion
Austin you made me CRY! That being said Skate With Me was a fantastic read! Nolan and Matthew are a perfect couple and the skating scenes are outstanding! This is a must read for a good M/M romance.
This was a sweet read though I did have a hard time warming up to Nolan, especially when he did what he did to Matthew, It just looked a little sleazy to me and Matthew's anger was understandable.
Nolan's ex was also irritating, but I couldn't decide if he really was just the asshole of assholes or his attitude had more to do with always being in Nolan's shadow (and then maybe I could sympathize with him a bit) I couldn't tell.
Really mixed feelings with this: loved Matthew and the coach and Nolan's parents, but spent eighty-percent of the time loathing the ex and being absolutely annoyed with Nolan.
