I've never hated a fake character more than I hate Sosa. that fool was a special kind of crazy!!!! Auri was a special kind of stupid too. the only one that I loved throughout this whole book and who got the short end of the stick was Deleon. He was bae all the way and Auri did not deserve him!!! Such a great book and my first read by this author.

I have never cried so much reading a book, it was so emotional. I was routing for Auri the whole way, everyone she cried for losing Deleon I cried with her. Sosa is a prime example when you hold hate and unforgiveness in your heart it poisons you. Deleon's love for Auri was so strong and pure, he was so forgiving. Great job 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Whoa this was an intense read for me. From the very beginning I knew that Sosa was going to be a problem. I’ve never hated a fictional character as much as I hated him. Auri was so naive that she couldn’t see what Sosa was doing to her. In the beginning I was sad for her, but by the middle I was angry that she still couldn’t see how this man had changed her life for the worse. Deleon an angel in disguise. That man was everything that Auri needed and she didn’t see it at first, but finally got it together. Sosa reason for being the way he was, still didn’t make up for all the scandalous things he had done. I’m glad Auri got her happy ending, she needed it. Great book Latoya Nicole.

Great read!
My first time reading this authors work but it won't be my last! Sosa was a devil in disguise and I'm glad he got dealt with. I hated Auri so much. Like girl get it together before you lose ya man. Glad it worked out for them tho. I felt bad for Jess, she should've cut led losses.

Best book I've read this year!
Yo this was my first book from this author and it sure won't be my last! I took so many intermissions reading this book and I regret that. This novel was EVERYTHING! I never hated a male character as bad as Sosa because he was truly a broken and disgusting soul. I hated how Auri kept doing Deleon because he was being soft on her. Sosa got what he definitely deserved and I'm glad the story ended on a good note with D and Auri. This was a DEFINITE PAGE TURNER and I definitely gonna check out more of Latoyas catalog. If so could give this story more than 5 stars I honestly would.

Well damn another good read
Man this author pen game is dope as hell. This book is truly a page turner. Sosa got exactly what he deserved. Deleon really loves Aurianna bc he stood by her though the relapses and rehabs. They finally got it together and are engaged and Faith is alive and well.

Well that was some type of ride!
First CHITOWN STAND UP!! #WestSideGurl #BornAndRaised ok this book stretched me to my limits! Sosa was insanely crazy! Like where did that type of crazy come from? All of this because his mother got strung out?! Greg and Jess got off too easy for me!! Greg was a cheater and a whimp his wife should of left him when Sosa made her toy with his thing! Jess deserved to be found out she was a pure snake! Deleon personified the patience that a person needs when dealing with an addict. Auri is a hot liquid mess! Too book smart and not enough of the streets. I appreciate her character being as smart as she was because most people believe addicts are stupid which most of the time isn't the case! Auri wore my nerves out! She was too weak. Delow is my favorite I would love to read more about him. This was hard to read cause it hit close to home but I did enjoy it.

Auri takes pride in education. While most people her age is partying she has her head in the books. Being the top of her class at Harvard is hard work but she is focused on finishing it all. When Christmas break comes around she is excited to see her family but her best friend has other plans in mind. Wanting Auri to lossen up they go to a party and it all begins with Sosa. When Sosa sees Auri he has the perfect plan for her to help him become on his team. Auri soon find out that addiction is not love and Deleon is determined to make sure she see the real her, But what happens when you might not want real help ? Will Auri lose it all?
What a real story. From page one I was very interested in this book. The pain , Felt so real you couldn't help but keep reading hoping for the best. I can say Latoya has worked her way to being one of my Favorite authors!!!

This book defies the statement, "once a good girl goes bad, she's gone forever". Latoya shows us the consequences of not understanding the difference between naivete, weakness, and innocence. The book also touches on people who are so in awe of your accomplishments that their awe inspires their envy; hence, Auriana and her "bestie". Addicted to His Pain reminds us that thinking for yourself and not worrying about what others think about it is not such a bad idea. Let Latoya take you on ride and show what happens when you become so lost in loving the idea of being loved that you forget what love is. This is an excellent standalone.

Hooked from the beginning
Omg.. this book was so good. I was so hooked I read it straight through within hours. Auri was a smart girl on the right path and one wrong decision turned her life upside down. Sosa was so wrong for her. He had her so hooked and blind that she couldn't see it. Deleon love her from the beginning. Even after all she put him through his heart would not allow him to walk away. Her best friend was foul too. She didn't mean Auri not good either. I hate she died though. I definitely recommend reading this you will not be disappointed.

YES YES YES.... I started off being a little leery... AURI just had me hotter than chicken grease thru this book. Never really understood why she felt the need to be so mistreated... Jess...what a friend she was...NOT, at least she felt abandoned by her parents, Poor Rich girl. But SOSA that child was seriously EFFED up.. Delow, what a nut for not caring about anything but his money.. Deleon Whew the true captain save a person. Excellent Representation from Chicago..I will check out the authors other books

This was a wild ride...I couldn't stand Auri at first...she was so weak, but I've never been in that position to be facing addiction. I never had a desire that strong to fit in either, but she was beyond dumb sometimes. Jesus was a jealous snake and Sosa was a demon...I hated him soo much. Deleon was bae but he was confused a lot. Delow redeemed himself. I still don't like Hannah tho....the plot was everything tho...I didn't see that coming...that history between Sosa and Auri and her people...whew

Toya this is why I love your writing so much. You the only one I know that can make you laugh cry then wonder where this come from in one book. This book is a must read. Deleon tried to run from his heart but no matter what he kept going back. He was Auri’s savior. Sosa mad me wanna jump through the book but that twist at the end was all that. I understand now why Sosa was so pressed for Auri. Poor Auri I felt sorry for her and mad at her at the same time. I’m glad for the happy ending. Great job bae

Wow is all I can say.
So this is my first book by this author. I must say she did not disappoint and I'm glad I read this book. It was really well written and I didn't notice and errors. Thumbs up for that. I would definitely recommend this book and I'm going to share it. So Sosa is such an evil soul. Deleon is such a hard lover. Poor Auri was gullible. I was like babygirl are you ever going to get it together. Read this book that's all I have left to say.

I thought I was going to die when I got to the end. What an Excellent book!
This book was more than l expected (in a good way). I loved all the twists and turns. Sosa was just evil it's hard to believe the father never recognized him or that he never tried to take a shot gun to him when he tried to make his wife suck him off. He did all those things to personally and then he ruins his daughters life and he still does nothing. Ooooweee this book was tooooo good I recommend every one reads it

Sosa was one evil person. The thinks he did based on his past was sickening. Auriana was just a pawn because she was intertwined in Sosa's past by way of her father Greg. Deleon was Sosa's cousin, but they were like night and day. With everything Sosa put Auriana through, she should've been checked out. Thank goodness for Deleon being there for her time and time again.

This book was so good. My girl always come through. I felt so bad for Auri. She was very naive. And Jess... She turned out to be the enemy. She didn't deserve what Sosa did to her but she wasn't no good either. Deleon is another book bae. A savage if pushed but a sweet heart. I'm glad everything worked out for him and Auri and baby Faith. I cried for her. No baby deserves that cruelty. Sosa got what he deserved...

WOW......such a Wonderfully written and DOPE & Heart-touching story!👌 Yes, it was hard to read the back and forth journey between Auria and DeLeon then the PSYCHOTIC one with she & Sosa, but this a story the Needed to be told........a Conversation to be had!💯 LaToya Nicole did an AWESOME job of laying the groundwork for Orgasmic conclusion......GREAT work, Ma'am!💜

This book took me through so many emotions. Auri went through the fire and came out a polished diamond. Sosa was a bxxxh for the way he treated her regardless of what went on in his past. I loved Deleon he was a man in love and didn't give up on love. It was a bit depressing at times when you see how Sosa did Auri but she allowed her weak mind to get the best of her. Good read

Uhhh. . Sosa made my ass itch!! And this is a prime example of parents sometimes thinking they sheltering there kids, and they be nieve and dumb as hell to the streets smh not saying this was the exact same thing .. but Almost .because homegirl was a follower 4 REAL 🙄 THAT friend of hers was just as thirsty as they come! She got what she deserved! Overall great read ! Definitely will recommend

This was my first read by this author and it wont be my last. The story was well developed as were the character's. Latoya really made you feel like you were there. I felt every emotion possible with this book! I mean it was an emotional rollercoaster....kudos girl! Im almost mad it ended..i stayed up literally all night because i couldn't stop reading!

Latoya is very very talented! Audi ticked me off to the point for being dumb but this book was a lesson for her! The title of this book is so fitting and it was an incredible story to read! I hate Sosa with every fiber of my being but by the end I understood how he became that way! Please one click!!! You won't regret it!

I enjoyed reading this so much! Omg I hated Sosa so much and I also hated how weak auri was. When she took the first hit and started her downward spiral I kept saying noooo don't do it! I'm glad she finally got it together and I'm glad Deleon loved her enough to help her! Great story! Looking forward to reading more of your work!

Great book
This was a great read. Very entertaining. I did not want to put it down. They went through some stuff and that made it very entertaining. Enjoyed the characters even though I did not like some of them. 1st time reading this author and will be reading more of her work. Good job!!

Wow!
This book had me hooked from beginning to end! From the gate it started off good !! I’m so glad Auri was able to get herself together an get away from Sosa an her addiction! This book was everything ! I enjoyed every bit of it. Even though it has me totally stressed out by chapter 5!
