This is another theoretical and analytical piece by some Croatian academic. This one is dealing with the history of american horror novel. Although the style of writing is very approachable and engaging, it is very obvious that the selection of works that are being mentioned is not very well planned. Some of most important authors are not mentioned, well, actually the whole damn last 80 years are not mentioned except in the context of 2 authors ( Ellis & King), and writers that are being mentioned are not well presented. Lovecraft's and King's life work is presented through some side-works of less importance and not wholly characteristic for the author's style, while their most prominent works are completely omissed. It's like the author of this study didn't know or understand some of the author's opuses very well.
