Billy DeCarlo is an American author of novels and short stories. He grew up camped out at the corner newsstand, reading as many comic books as he could before the owner would throw him out. He writes out of love and in hope to change the world, or at least a few minds. He still believes there are superheroes, and sees evidence of them sometimes on the news. And villains, lots of villains.

Tommy Borata is back, still fighting cancer and the bad guys. This time he has a corrupt cop in his sights.

Like the first book, the style is gritty with some violence, sexual scenes, and swearing. It fits in with the characters though and doesn't seem gratuitous. Tommy continues his character development by trying to have a better relationship with his son, Bobby. Several other characters from the first book, including Lukas and Nurse Carmen, make an appearance. Overall a good sequel.

I received an ARC from the author, via BookFunnel, and I am voluntarily giving an honest review.

This second installment in the series did not disappoint. It was a very dark yet enlightening read as once again disadvantaged people try to make their final mark on the world. DeCarlo definitely had another bad guy for the reader to truly dislike and even hate, while rooting for someone good to make it when and where it counted. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series for sure. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of the book.

A lot of dark elements and demons in this book, cancer, danger, and a corrupt cop. A look at the dark world of corruption and the things people do to seek vengeance. The cop suspects that his alcoholic wife is cheating on him with his brother in law, he asks the old Korean to help him find proof. I received an arc copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Not Dead Yet

Tommy is battling cancer , making up for lost years with his son, realizing his marriage is over and having the strength to confront a corrupt cop. Instead of having his old friend Moses to help there’s Sensei and you do not want to mess with him. I enjoy the continuity of characters from book one in book two. 4 out 5 (Mc)🍦’s.

A GoodReads GiveAway

Fastpaced. That's a good thing. Interesting in that the main character — the cop — is ill. As is his sidekick, so to speak.
