Short Stories to Bolster Your Spirit
Petite, playful, and profound. These words help to describe Patsy Clairmont's size, message, and humor. Gifted with both a quick wit and a sure command of God's Word, Patsy can simultaneously bring laughter to her audiences while imparting deep, life-changing insights.
Known today as a best-selling author and popular speaker who addresses thousands of women at national conferences, Patsy once suffered as a prisoner in her own home because of agoraphobia (fear of open spaces). Her experience has given her a deep appreciation of God's healing power.
In Stardust on My Pillow, Patsy courageously and skillfully breaks new ground, offering her message of God's grace for the first time through the medium of short fiction. In fourteen touching and tender tales, she explores the mystery and faithfulness of God's goodness and love, as experienced and demonstrated by his people.
Patsy is a bookish woman who loves words and has a penchant for dark chocolate sorbet. Since spelling bees in grade school, childhood Scrabble games, right up to her current addiction with Words with Friends she has been known to spell it out, to say it like it is.
Much to her surprise Patsy has written a stack of books that continues to light her passion for the printed page. And nothing pleases her more than to share her faith through laughter and tears and to encourage others to flourish.
A former agoraphobic Patsy never imagined the expansive plans God had in mind for her. She just wanted to make it to her neighborhood grocery store and safely home again. Instead, for the past 35 years she has been traipsing throughout the U.S. and Canada, interspersed with trips to Israel and Africa and she has even spoken at the Pentagon for the Flag Officers Bible Study. Patsy has spoken to millions of women (and men) offering spiritual and emotional hope.
Patsy has written books in several genres including devotional, fiction, children’s, and gift offerings. She is one of the founding speakers at Women of Faith and trains people for the platform.
Patsy is the author of over 35 books best-selling books and currently lives in Franklin TN.
My favorite of the short stories in this book was "Chattanooga Choo-Choo"! Some things I learned while reading this were: There's times you'll just need to do what needs to be done! This is a way-marker! The best way to grow out of small is to stand tall! You don't have to feel brave to act brave! Never let a kindness go unattended.
A lovely compilation of 14 short stories; all with a theme of faith running through them. As a fan of Oatsy Clairmont, I must admit this was a wide diversion from her previous books. The is her first foray into fiction and I must say I was delighted.
3* This book of short stories is just the thing to read before falling asleep at night. Patsy wrote the perfect collection to comfort and inspire a weary heart and mind.
This is one book that I have been trying to find more copies of (they have always been sold out or on order when I'm looking) to give a gifts to several people in my life.
Patsy will give you her life experiences in such a way that you can't help but laugh as you accept the truth of her words. You share Patsy's laughter, but you can also share her tears. She's a very big person in a very petite sized body, and she'll make her presence known as you read her stories either in this book or any of her other books or videos.
Love love loved this book! Pastsy is such a great author. This book made me laugh and cry sometimes simultaneously! Plus it's short stories so you can set it down and pick it up with any amount of time between and not have to reread anything. (You won't want to put it down tho.) there is one story that is actually letters between siblings that I have read to some of my friends because I loved it so much.
"Cloistered" & "Runaway" were my favorites, however I enjoyed all but one of the stories. I even let a couple of tears run at "Stardust" & "Kaleidoscope"---"Mrs. Cass's neighborly ways" was written from the perspective of an guardian angel who was assigned to this little girl. Didn't like this one and I don't know why exactly
I read this at my husband's recommendation. These were all neat stories!! Laughed, cried, smiled, forgot my own significant problems: The last one, "Christmas Cabin", came at exactly the right moment (God's perfect timing!), as I was going through similar trials and feelings in my life.
A collection of short stories that are meant to be uplifting. There were about three that I really enjoyed but I had a hard time getting into the others.
