La Cabeza De Alvise

Rate this book

Wertmuller's talents do not lie in writing novels. Although somewhat comedic, the writing is insubstantial and weak. This book would have been better executed as a film. I can envision Giannini as Sammy, fully realizing the ironies inherent in the plot, and offering a performance perhaps rivaling 'Seven Beauties.' Alas, the characters instead lie flat on the page.
