With a love story, of course, the most romantic love story of when Rod and Julia met.
God must have conspired with the angels to put Roderick Owen of Shenandoah County, Virginia, and Julia Helm, of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in the same place on one magical day in Spring, 1840. All nature paused, as though holding its breath, waiting to see what would happen.
In this short novella, acclaimed author Marsha Ward tells the story of the Owen Family origins, describing in her delicate language the tender feelings of two people who need to find each other in a very small window of time.

With a love story, of course, the most romantic love story of all: when Rod and Julia met.

MY TAKE I've read several of Ward's Owen stories. It was fun to read this short novella that tells the story of how the mother and father of the family found each other. It's very much a case of insta-love, but it's set in a time when people married for less romantic reasons than physical attraction--and they were both religious which was important for both of them.
A sweet love at first sight romance between Rob and Julia. Rob promised his mother that he would find a night Christian girl to marry and he did. He looked for years and the minute he saw her he knew she was the one. Heartwarming and sweet. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.
Rod had to marry a Christian woman. He looked for years . Suddenly he met Julia ,she was a very nice person. Rod fell in love with her this is a very lovely romance story. I liked it very much
This is a sweet, pleasant story of how the Owen parents met. It will be of most interest to those who have already met the clan, but anyone can enjoy it. There is little conflict, but there is plenty of tension as the couple look forward to their wedding and life together. The characters are believable and interesting.
