Jake Ross never had it easy. He's learned to accept he won't have the life his friends have. With an abusive, alcoholic for a father and a younger brother far too good for this world, all Jake focuses on is keeping his kid brother safe.
But when their father goes one step too far and introduces Weldon to their lives, it sets off a series of events that will change all their lives.

If you're into the fluffier side of life, you have my blessing but will you please take the next exit. For the rest of you depraved pervs, enjoy your stay ;)
OMG! This was awful. This started off good. Not great but good enough. Somewhere around 55% it started to go downhill fast. I’m not just talking about the story. The writing and editing started to deteriorate as well. By the 5th episode, the author stopped caring about editing and started confusing the characters.
In short, the story was about a father who sold his two sons to a sadistic overlord. The sons are beaten, raped, and drugged. At one point, I thought the overlord was starting to show some feelings for one of the brothers, but nope, that didn’t last.
The bothers get help from the inhouse doctor. Violence ensues. The overlord is killed. The brothers are save. The inhouse doctor, and one of the brothers become a couple. The fucking end.
Extremely fast paced, confusing time jumps, massive plotholes/unexplained scenes, clinical writing, nothing taboo, and a really unsatisfying ending! 🤦🔪🔪
These are the types of books that tend to press the ON button for my evil murderous urges!!!
Taboo #1 I almost couldn't concentrate because of the excitement....almost :) ---all sounds off - oke guys *tjik tjik* *go go* - finally alone and *sigh* let the game begin---
Only thing I knew that it's taboo..but how will it be... from this author's hand you can expect the most extreme.... After a few pages I tried to imagine what in the hell could happen... but I have no writers brain.....that's why I'm at the other end of the process....I read and let me surprise with the unexpected.....
Trey - Jake - Weldon
What started as a read where you think "ahhh okay....yeah... hmmmm .. heheh" ended as a *Jesus fucking Christ - fuck - fuck - sick - noooooohh* I did not just read that...
Flash one - Trey meets Jake at a party. Beautiful and bruised Jake has an od at that party and Trey is his savior. Flash two - When Jake is back home you can feel the tension building, he has a *sick* father and a lovely younger brother. They have visitors..... Flash three - Jake wakes up and not in his bed..... and he can't move.... Here is where I stop talking because damn.....Read it yourself!!!
It's a short read and I have soooo many questions and thoughts.... I can't wait.... #2 will be released in a few days...o my god
Very Kol Anderson story, it has already every disturbing ingredients in it and there will be more
I loved every page !
Taboo #2 Shall I start with the cursing and then continue the review....?
The amazing thing with this story is you'll be thrown back and forth rational and up and down emotional. Interesting guy this Weldon you could almost like him... no no....did I said that out loud? Sick girl... Jake......Jaaaaakhh *crying* *bawling* Trey .... disappointing shittertheshit Again Weldon damn.. I think he has two heads, a sort of Jekyll and Hyde.... just guessing And where are daddy and Colton? So much to come....or was it cum....
The different pov works very well. To see it through the villains mind is very satisfying, I can't help it. You always get to view a rogue through other eyes or opinions and now to taste his feelings and motivations does just concretize it. The absolute power......damn.... Only is everything as it looks? I must say... i don't think so....
I think the cards are turning. Only I'm afraid to believe my eyes.....as mind-fucked as this author's stories always goes I'm will not try to fill this in and just patiently (read:*tap tap impatient*) wait for book 3 Great piece of work.... I loved it!!
Taboo #3 This short read is part of a serie dark reads. It's about a young guy named Jake who is sold by his dad to a cruel man named Weldon. Weldon has a whole circle of 'servants' working for him. Jake's brother Colton is also kept by this Weldon and Jake is trying to free both of them... only nothing is what it looks. You think it will be alright and then.... Why things are happening....we will learn while reading. Many questions will rise and you will try to find balance and you will not get it. It's mind-f*cking and that's the point!
It's recommend to read #1 and # 2 first. An extremely amazing written story and it will make you greedy for more and more...
So painful......More questions raising...Why.... Weldon....mr Jekyll and Hyde himself...why? Mace....damn I don't trust anyone anymore....is there any human thing in him? Trey....again I don't trust anyone anymore....what is your game....? Colton...so sorry for him....why him? power over....? Jake.....sigh.....in the middle of this shit hole... Doesn't know and understand why and what is happening....
Crazy story, very captivating it made me hungry for more and more. As always very well written...always making me feel insecure about the next step....making me stop to think about a next page....because my brain just can't reach that level. Waiting is my next step....for #4
This is for the ones who can handle dark violent reads which make you flinch because of many hurt and uncertainties...then... with other words... a #mustread I loved it!!
Taboo #4 This was another hard one....part four from the serie Taboo a short one..
Jake prisoner of Weldon... Master of torture in superlative degree Colton getting drug addicted by a Masterplan from that same Weldon Trey slave of a man who has all the winning cards in his hand....Weldon Mace another piece of shit, i didn't figure him out yet, working for.....Weldon.
After been sold by their father, Jake and his brother Colton have been separate kept hostage by a very cruel man named Weldon. Weldon has big plans for both boys. And all the plans are involved with pain from the highest level. It's beyond imagination....
Jake has one goal, after put the idea away to kill him self.....he had to safe his baby brother from the hands of all the torturing. How in the hell is he gonna do that...his own body is already broken.....his spirit....?
"I was certain I was about to die from the heartache. But as much as I wanted it I knew I’d never be that lucky"
One thing you should know....Weldon is a watcher....try to imagine what....and multiply by ten My jaws hurt from gnashing....
Who invents this all.... Master writer of dark (painful) reads of course. Written in a very appealing way. Every letter eagerly taken. Always unexpectedly released like a real present.....i only missed the bow around it.... So i will bow to this special author for this great job....
*tap tap* waiting for my next present #5
Understand this read is not for the sensitive ones. There are red flags all over. But if you like dark reads..
Taboo #5 The last one from this Taboo series. Recommend to read the first four to understand this story.
After been sold by their father Jake and Colton are kept hostage by master of torture Weldon. Even though Weldon has a weak for Jake he never stops torturing him and his brother. All the time you will ask yourself 'how the hell will this end?' Trey, under the spell of Jake, but also Weldon's partner in crime, has his own ideas how this all will end. Because it will end some way or the other.....
There are more and more parts open to the daylight and it's confusing as hell. Maybe my brain is dry because it gave me some kind of a headache....i turned back to the earlier parts of this story to see what I forgot. And that was just a great idea....to read this in one sit! Part 5 is less violent and more revealing.
Ingenious story with a somewhat satisfying end, but in the context the only appropriate. Written in a fast pace, captivating and thrilling, complete attention necessary. A mustread for those who love some violence, torture and cruelty....but also last but not least an intriguing story with people who bond.....
This book was picked for me to read in a pick it for me challenge. This was a complete series of 5 small short quick reads. Jake Ross never had it easy. He's learned to accept he won't have the life his friends have. With an abusive, alcoholic for a father and a younger brother far too good for this world, all Jake focuses on is keeping his kid brother safe. The first book was a little confusing to me at first but once I got into it I really liked the story. Trey meets Jake at a party he becomes is savior. This book has different pov book 3 too me was the best. Jake and his brother have been sold by there father to a man named Weldon. Jake tries to rescue Colton but doesn't quite go according to plan. In the final book 5 we get to see what happens to the brothers. This series was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I have read this author before he writes some good dark erotic books.
The elements of the stories though, dark or taboo, I read without batting an eye.
What really bothered me was the implausible relationship at the end. I didn’t see any building of a believable connection between these two AT ALL.
Then the author makes me think there was going to be a connection in another direction, then drops it. The author did things on page to raise my expectation for this connection to happen, but it did not happen.
This book would have been more shocking/taboo if THAT connection had taken place or the book ended with that relationship, even as an HFN rather than HEA. However, I think it probably would have been unpalatable to most readers and the five installments of this series would not be getting the high ratings and rave reviews that I’ve been seeing.
Ok. I’ll conceded that most would have been pissed off at an HFN that I’m thinking of.
Kol just has a way of making the most Messed up, Dark, Crazy, Extreme books just so damn intense and intriguing. Kinda like a train wreck you can’t look away from. Lol. This is the complete series of the Five short Books. These books might be short but they do not Lack in any way or form. There is so much packed into them.
Taboo 1 - Trey and Jake meet at a party. They saves Jake only for Jake to encounter Hell the very next day. Seriously. Jakes dad Benner deserves a special place in Hell for what he does.
Taboo 2 - Jake and Weldon... Jakes dad sells him to Weldon, and I mean Weldon could almost be a nice guy, he almost seems like he wants to be “with” Jake. He’s dark and Handsome. But he’s really just a Monster in disguise.
Taboo 3 - Weldon and his Cronies Mace and Skoll. Jake knows Weldon has his brother Colton. To keep Jake in line. He knows Jake will do anything to keep Colton safe. But Anything just isn’t enough. Jake thinks he can rescue him and of course it goes horribly terribly wrong.
Taboo 4 - Darker. Colton’s getting addicted to the Drugs Trey is injecting. Jake is dealing with torture at the Hands of Weldon. And then it happens. Poor Colton.
Taboo 5 - Trey Actually tries to help Jake take down Weldon and help Jake and Colton Escape. It’s almost a complete Disaster but you can’t take down the devil without rising up to him. I was only sad to realize Weldon wouldn’t receive any kind of torture back that he totally deserved. His death was way too quick for my taste.
Taboo#1 Damn....well...I always know going into a Kol book that my heart is going to be ripped out...trod on a few times and not always put back...In this one it's no different...My heart was ripped out in the first few pages just seeing Jake like that.....What happened later on well that just ripped it into pieces....This is a short read but the first of the series and we all know Kol likes to drag us around after him....His little demon minions who just love to jump into his torturous books......Jake is protecting his brother Colton but I don't think he realised just how evil his own father is....Yes Benner...Your evil....just because you "changed your mind" doesn't make you the good guy.....Did you enjoy watching what Weldon did to your son....His first time shouldn't have been like that......Weldon is even more evil and he hasn't even started yet....This is going to be a torturous journey for us and for poor Jake....I'm hoping that the small glimpse we had of Trey is going to be Jake's saviour....A truly great start to the series x
Taboo#2 Well damn....I don't know what to make of this one....I mean Weldon seems nearly normal to Jake and is treating him almost like a real boyfriend....I'm thinking his darker side will come out to play again but what is in store for Jake....I really want him to not get attached to Weldon and that Trey can help him get out of there.....Because I really think deep down he doesn't want to be there x
Taboo#3 Wow....This series is just getting more and more intense....Jake tries to rescue Colton but doesn't quite go according to plan....I'm not sure what to think about Mace...whether he'll end up being a good guy but I do know I'm not keen on Trey....Why doesn't he help Jake?....What does Weldon hold over him for him to do what he's doing?......Weldon is pure evil and the scary thing is I don't think we've even seen half of what he's capable of.....Jake has to put up with what he throws at him and It's just going to get worse x
Taboo#4 Omg......I think even though this is a quick read I think it is the hardest of the series so far....Poor Colton does not fair well in this one and Weldon is his usual evil self...I really hate that guy....What makes him think he can hurt people like that.....This really is an amazing series...Kol is the master of dark books....An absolute must read x
Taboo#5 Final Chapter So this is th This has been a great series....perfection from Mr Anderson xe final chapter..We get to see what happens to Jake and Colton...and to be honest I loved it but I so wanted Weldon to suffer more than he did.....Oh boy they had every chance to really hurt him but at least they came out of the other side x
Glad it's finally over. This story was brutal, painful and shocking. I didn't think I'd be able to finish this book. I cried so many times and felt anger. I was so sick to my stomach and in my own physical pain at the sexual abuse and torture. I had to know how this story ended. I had to believe that Jake and Colton would get their happy ending after all the shit they endured. This was not an easy read.
I don't like when an author leaves what they're writing open for interpretation, which is kinda how this felt. Also it was always clear who the speaker/thinker was talking to.
Stared out good. Very dark, tons of abuse and rapey mcrape rapey, but then it got a little confused along the way. Jake and Trey are in love with each other? Since when did they have time to have a romance? The one night Jake almost od'd or somewhere between the beatings and rape enacted by Weldon and his cronies? Then we get to part five (which needs a whole lot of editing btw) and the whole story seems to implode. We never get the full story about Ryan/Jackie/Try nor are we ever told why Weldon has it so hard for Jake. Colton goes from jail bait to perfectly legal in the matter of seconds just so KA can make him a junkie and put him in a rape scene as well. The end is so convoluted I don't even know where to start complaining. Unfortunately there's not a good solid story here. It's just torture/rape porn.
Well this sure was a fucking mess. It started great, as in dark and with the possibility of becoming darker and darker but...no? I mean, the big bad guy pays a stupid amount of money for the virginity of Jake but instead...he just rapes him with a bat? Why did you payed that much money for, you idiot?
& I mean, just when you think evil will prevail, it doesn’t but it doesn’t in a weird, convoluted way. The time jumps are...jumpy and if you’re not careful you will get confused.
Jack ends up in a relationship with his savior...a relationship that came out of fucking nowhere and it has 0 chemistry between them. Jack says “I love you” to him but he doesn’t love him. He is just incredibly grateful and lonely. You won’t fool me with that I love you, author!!

Different. Dark. Definitely not for those who like a fluffy romance 😃. I have passed over this author so many times but I'm definitely going to keep him in mind for when I need a change of pace.
I finished only because I needed to know how it ended. Otherwise I don’t know why this book is called taboo because there’s nothing taboo about rape and torture.... confused
[SPOILERS] I know some people are upset that the hints that the main rapist / torturer would end up "falling in love" were dropped, and instead he was killed at the very end. I was actually relieved about that, because I really hate the rape-turns-into-love trope in BL / MxM stories, or any of the "sure he abused and tortured him at first, but it's okay because it's all because he really loves him SO much!" BS [END SPOILERS]
There are definitely some valid criticisms about the book, though. The ending was really abrupt, the relationship between Jake and Trey wasn't developed as well as it could have been, and it needed another proofread
