Elle James is my go-to author when I want a hot romance and a mystery to solve. After some real clunkers I needed a take-me-away book, and this one is it. I tend to horde Elle James books, like my favorite candy, and read them when I really need her brand of Romantic-Suspense. She has yet to disappoint. If insta-lust offends you, find another book. Montana Dog Soldier is fast paced, sexy and just wonderful. I love the backstories and how they were told. I loved everything about this book. But like most Elle James' books - it was too short. I guess I'll just have to read another!

Joseph "Kujo" Kuntz is mad at the world and has retreated into the mountains of Colorado without much of a plan as to what to do with his life after his medical discharge from the Army Delta Force. When his buddies track him down three years later to drag him back to the real world, the lure they use is the threat that his former canine service partner will be euthanized if a home can't be found for him and a new job that will use his skills and training with the Brotherhood Protectors in the Crazy Mountains of Montana.

FBI Agent Molly Greenbrier has been sent to the Eagle Rock, Montana to do surveillance on a possible ISIS training camp. While using a drone she comes under attack, the drone is shot down and she takes a tumble off the side of a mountain only to be discovered by Kujo and his dog, Six.

As Molly recovers, the attraction flashes fast and hot between Joe and Molly. But there is a mission to complete and an ISIS faction to rout before they can explore the attraction that threatens to overwhelm them.

I'm an Elle James fan. This one had her usual--hunky, protective, former military hero; a strong yet vulnerable heroine who is his equal; great action scenes. Plus, this one had Six. I love books where the dog is a fleshed-out character, and discharged/slated to be put down Six was a great hero. I love how rescuing Six meant Kujo (Kuntz, Joe--not Stephen King's rabid dog, although that was a running joke) was rescued, too.

There was nothing wrong with it. I just wanted more. A little longer, perhaps. The resolution happened fast for me.

This was my first Brotherhood Protectors book in her series. I have a feeling I'll be reading more of them.

This story is part of Ms James’s series, Brotherhood Protectors. Rest assured that it’s a stand alone. I have not read the previous books, and had no problems .
In this one, our main characters are ex-Delta Forces Kujo, Molly, an FBI agent new to field work, and we must not forget Six, the ex-Army dog.
While serving , Kujo suffered physical and personal injuries, and was medically discharged 3 years ago. He lives an isolated life as a mountain man. He has lost friends in the war, his teammates , his purpose in life, and with skills useful only in the military, he just exists.
He is pulled out of the mountain when a couple of his Delta Forces buddies come to visit and inform him Six, his dog in the Army, is about to be put down.
Molly in the meantime, goes to Montana because of suspicious activities in the Montana mountains . Probably of ISIS origin. She encounters Kujo twice. The second time when he rescues her.
Needless to say there is an attraction there.
All in all , a story filled with intrigue, suspense, bad guys, strong ex-military men, and s strong female character, as well as romance.
But what really got to me, was the author’s reminder that when the troops return to the USA, many do not have the skills to integrate into civilian life. We, as a nation, must support these men and women who fight for our freedom. Thank you , Ms James, for that reminder.
I was gifted copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Montana Dog Soldier is charged with tension as they navigate this new environment as bodyguards. Along his journey, he encounters a diverse cast of characters, including resilient women who exude strength and empathy, showcasing their remarkable tenacity in the face of adversity.

Montana Dog Soldier is the sixth exciting tale of loyalty and courage, and looming threats jeopardise their lives and the lives they swore to protect. This story not only highlights the fierce devotion of its alpha heroes but also emphasises the importance of connection and resilience against a backdrop of uncertainty and danger.

Great Drama

Elle does not disappoint. Storyline constant with what soldiers experience once they leave their military “home”. Brotherhood Protectors is a segue way for them to believable embrace. Story for a mature audience.

Just Okay

"Montana Dog Soldier" might better have been titled "Molly and the Montana Dog Soldier." Former Delta Force soldier, Kujo (short for Kuntz, Joe) and his canine partner, Six, had both been medically discharged due to injuries incurred in Afghanistan. Part of the plot revolves around how Kujo and Six were reunited after being discharged at different times. Almost immediately following their reunion, the duo save the life of an FBI agent who was seriously injured while fleeing her attacker who had left her for dead. Following her rescue and recovery from her injuries, the intrepid FBI agent Molly Greenbrier, pretty much dominated the story line and in doing so, her skill set as an agent miraculously blossomed as she stumbled into a terrorist training camp while on her very first field assignment. Really? I had really looked forward to this story, which is Book 6 of the Brotherhood Protectors series but it didn't live up to the hype surrounding its release.

Montana Dog Soldier

It was pretty good, just a little too short. I like Elle James' work, I just wish her books were longer. The wrap up at the end was too quick. Six stole the show though, so that's alright.

recensione a cura del blog “Libri Magnetici" by Meghan

Quattro petali.

Joe Kuntz, Kujo to his team mates, has fallen off the grid. When an injury got him discharged from Delta, he had to leave his friends and hi war dog, Six, behind. Now essentially hermit in the mountains his life is simple and lonely. But when he is tracked down by former team-mates with a job offer and more importantly that Six needs him.

Molly is on her first real solo fieldwork mission. She came across intel of an ISIS training camp in Montana and with resources stretched, she was granted authority to carry out some recon on her own, no interaction with the bad guys. Pity the bad guys didn't get the same message!

When her drone is shot down and then she is shot at and forced from the track she was riding on, Molly realises that her cover may have been blown. Rescued by the enigmatic, stubborn and taciturn Joe and his dog Six, she is in no shape to argue but she is not about to spill all her secrets. But when Joe's cabin is set alight he is pulled deeper into Molly's case and he brings in the "Brotherhood" to assist. Molly realises she was never quite as Solo as she thought!

Excellent book. I have only read a few of the others in this series but it in now way hampered me or detracted from my enjoyment of the book, they are all able to be read independently. Wonderful web of PTSD, wounded veterans, small town politics and big time romance. Joe is a great hero, even when he doesn't want to be! Six almost steals the show though, he is a cutie with a strong work ethic. Molly is a great, strong, character. She is a professional law enforcement officer and no wimpy damsel in distress!

I love this book! I love the characters especially Kujo and Six. Also the chemistry of the two main characters Kujo and Molly. It started when Kujo was found by his former Delta Force teammates and informs him about his former pet partner, a german shepherd military dog, Six. The Six was injured from his last assignment and since then he was passed down to other people until decided to end his life. But Kujo decided to take care of Six and went to Montana to join Brotherhood Protectors even if he still has some doubts and not sure to join his former teammates new work. Ever since his last assignment that cause his Injuries and forced to leave the military life he became a mountain hermit for 3 years until Bear found him and informs about Six. While waiting for his first assignment for Brotherhood Protectors Kujo met Molly, a FBI agent who went to Montana for undercover job and find the ISIS camp. She was injured while taking some survalance when someone shot her drone and tries to kill her by the mysterious man wearing black. Luckily, Six and Kujo was there and saves her life and bring her to his cabin. Both Kujo and Molly has feelings for each other and they're paired up together to bring down the Terrorist group who wants to destroy the peaceful Montana.

It's a nice book to read and fast paced suspense and romance all in one. The chemistry of Kujo and Molly are there and I love Six!!

>Book Review – Montana Dog Soldiers

>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 6th in the Brotherhood Protector series and ends in an HEA. Even though I’ve never read the previous 5 books in this series, the book was easy to follow and didn’t rely on the past books to make sense.

>Joe was involved in a career ending explosion in the military. His dog, Six, was able to continue to work for a while. Joe, suffering from PTSD, became a recluse for 3 years until old buddies talked him into adopting a now retired Six and working in a private protection company they formed. I love the bond between Joe and Six. Even though Six is a trained dog, he is still man’s best friend and shows it with all of his interactions with Joe.

>Molly is an FBI agent trying to capture proof of a terrorist cell training in the mountains near Joe. Joe and Six find her badly injured and care for her. The pull between Joe and Molly is so sexy. Joe is the perfect alpha male with a heart of gold, while Molly is a determined spit fire always getting into trouble. The story line is predictable, but the interactions between Joe, Molly and the other Brotherhood members were all fun to read. The interactions with the bad guys were all suspenseful and created a page turner of a story.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 5 stars.

Joseph “Kujo” Kuntz’ last mission in A-stan was a rescue that didn’t turn out that way. The hostages died, Kujo had a TBI and a shortened leg, his dog, Six, was reassigned and he was discharged. Monumentally depressed, Kujo makes do off grid in a rented hunting cabinet in Colorado, on his military pension. Until his ex-teammates come to let him know he needs to go adopt six and get to Hank Patterson’s place in Montana and get himself a job! He does.

While awaiting his assignment to get to town, Kujo and Six are hiking in the mountains and meet FBI agent Molly Greenbrier who’s following up on a tip that there’s an ISIS training camp in the area. It was not a good meet and they go their separate ways. Moments later, Kujo and Six see Molly’s drone get shot out of the sky and moments later, she gets run off the mountainside, hopefully in a ditch. When they rush to her, Molly’s alive, badly injured and refuses to go to the hospital in case the shooter’s hunting her.

When Kujo goes to check if any part of the drone is salvageable, he finds a crate with military marking and by the time he gets back to his cabin, it’s in flames. Luckily, Six and Molly were unharmed. After trading information with Hank, Kujo and Molly look around town and barely escape when they leave a local business.

Montana Dog Soldier is the sixth book in The Brotherhood Protectors Series by Elle James. This series is a great blend of romance, action, and suspense - which is all set against the rugged backdrop of Montana. These books introduce us to a team of former military heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting others, all while navigating their own personal battles.
Ms. James’ characters are definitely the heart of this series, and each protector is uniquely crafted, with a mix of strength, vulnerability, and charm. Their camaraderie and loyalty to one another also creates a sense of family that adds an extra element to the stories/series.
These plots are fast-paced and packed with twists, cleverly blending high-stakes danger with heartfelt romance. Whether it's a SEAL turned cowboy, or a sniper finding love amidst chaos, each book delivers a satisfying mix of adrenaline and emotion. Elle James also weaves in themes of redemption, trust, and healing, making the series not just entertaining, but also heartfelt.
With gripping storylines, endearing characters, and just the right amount of heat, this is a series that will leave you eagerly reaching for the next installment.

This is a great series!

Montana Dog Soldier is the sixth book in the Brotherhood Protector series but each story stands alone and you won't feel lost if you don't read the others first. The other books are really good, though, so I recommend reading them.

The story starts out three years in the past and lets us know how Joseph "Kujo" Kuntz was injured. Next, we learn what Kujo is doing now – which isn't much. Things gain steam pretty quickly after his former teammates find him and recruit him to join the Brotherhood Protectors. There's more, too, involving a former bomb sniffing dog but I'm not giving anything away here.

My attention was grabbed me right from the start – the story is filled with suspense – and I finished it in one sitting. Who can resist a former Delta Force soldier and his dog? I sure couldn't and I thoroughly enjoyed reading another great story from one of my favorite authors, Elle James. I was also happy to learn that she has more books planned for this series.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I love the Brotherhood Protectors, former military they grab my heart. This book takes that love a step further and adds a military working dog. Oh my heartstrings!

Joe 'Kujo' Kuntz has hidden himself away from the world, when he was medically discharged he lost his career, his friends and his dog. He's about to start a new project when Bear and Duke show up with the news that his dog Six was up for adoption but has issues that caused him to be returned a couple of times. They also offered him a job with Brotherhood Protectors. Not that Joe was having any of it, well until he thought about it.

Okay so I was sniffling and hadn't even made it to root of the story.

FBI agent Molly Greenbriar is using a drone to search for evidence of a terrorist training camp in the Crazy Mountains near Eagle Rock. When she runs into trouble it's Six who finds her and Joe who gets her to safety.

Assigned to keep her safe, they quickly begin to make connections both for the job and personally.
A fast-paced, action packed, emotional, and sizzling read.

I am already starting the next book in this series, I just might be addicted.

Loved this book! Kujo is a Delta operator with a dog partner when his is seriously injured in a blast and loses his career and his dog in a single moment. After recovering, he escapes to the mountains to nurse his wounds. He stays there for years and only leaves after two of his Delta brothers find him to see if he wants his dog back and to offer him a job with them in Montana. The dog is scheduled to be euthanized as no one else is able to work with him or manage him. Almost before he knows it, Kujo is on his way to get his dog back and then head to Montana.

Molly is an FBI agent without field experience that is sent alone to rural Montana to rule out an ISIS training camp is there. She has barely launched her drone to surveil the area when it is spotted, putting her in peril.

These circumstances bring Kujo and Molly together to try and figure out what is going on, while also trying to avoid serious injury or death.

This is a fast paced romantic suspense that fans of the genre will love. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Montana Dog Soldier (Brotherhood Protectors Book 6)
by Elle James

Joseph "Kujo" Kuntz a Military Dog handler sustained a shrapnel injury that left him with a limp, it forced him to leave the Army, His Military Dog Six, and his team. He lives in the bush for a couple years, angry with the world.....Then he finds out that his injured military dog “Six” is now up for adoption. He picks up Six and accepts a job with Brotherhood Protectors in the Crazy Mountains of Montana, hoping to find new purpose and come to terms with his losses.

FBI agent Molly Greenbrier is following a lead that an ISIS faction is near Eagle Rock, Montana. She is operating a drone, when she’s attacked in the mountains and left for dead. Kujo and his dog Six witness the attack and rescue Molly.

Kujo is assigned as Molly’s protector until the team can neutralize the source of the threat. Together they struggle to locate the faction while fighting their own desire.

This was a good book...of course I loved the Dog Six!!! The rest of the characters were great too.

Molly is a FBI agent sent on her first field assignment. She goes to the mountains of Montana looking for a terrorist trading camp. When her drone gets shot down and she is chased by a guy on a four wheeler, she jumps off and rolls off a cliff and lands behind some boulders. Kujo is former Delta Force and was hurt when a bomb exploded near him. He has a bad leg and TBI, so he has lived up in the mountains for three years. When some of his buddies show up and convince him to go work with them at a security company and rescue his service dog before he’s put to sleep. Now he’s getting ready to start a new job when he and Six find Molly pretty banged up. He takes her to his cabin and fixes her up and tries to keep his hands to himself. When it becomes obvious Molly is in danger, Kujo becomes her protector, along with Six. They both look into the training camp but when Molly gets taken, can Kujo get to her in time?
Steamy, action, and nail biting suspense. The ending just sort of ended, there was very little build up to it.

Montana Dog Soldier by Elle James is the sixth book in her Brotherhood Protectors series and I have to say one of my new favorites. I loved Joe " Kujo" Kuntz and felt his pain not only with his limp but his feeling of failure when faced with a IED strapped to the hostages. He hides out now in a Colorado wishing for a ability to still be on Delta Team.

When the guys from Brotherhood show up with a plea for Kujo's former partner, Six, now injured and needs his partner to adopt him. Will he also accept Hank's offer to work with The Brotherhood and include Six as a partner?

FBI agent Molly Greenbrier received a tip of a possible ISIS training camp in Eagle Rock, MT she desperately wants to be a field agent and to find the cell would pave the way towards her goal. But after her drone is shot down and she's attacked while fleeing. She never expects to have Six find her as well as Kujo, help her heal and keep her safe. But it will take all of the Brotherhood men, Kujo, Molly and of course Six to find the cell and stop their upcoming attack.

This the sixth book in the Brotherhood Protectors series. Joseph Kuntz "Kujo" has been discharged from the military after receiving a shrapnel injury on his last mission that left with a limp. Kujo was saved by his K9 partner Six. When some of his former team members come for a surprise visit and tell him Six has been discharged from the military as well and he is not doing well Kujo decides to sign up to foster Six. Kujo has taken a job with Brotherhood Protectors and has moved to the mountains to heal and get some solitude until he is needed for his first mission. Kujo and Six are out for a walk when they encounter Molly Greenbrier in the mountains. Shortly after they go their separate ways an attempt is made on Molly's life and Kujo saves her. Kujo is attracted to the spunk woman but trouble seems to follow Molly and Kujo and six are trying their best to keep her safe. The characters are great. The story is original and there are so many twists and turns to the story if held me captive until the very end. I love this book.

Montana Dog Soldier by Elle James

Book 6 in the series. Stands alone.
Economic conditions, job loss, financial disasters or extreme stress can lead good men to bad. They can become desperate, do stupid things and lash out.
Rumor has it that there is a terrorist cell operating training in the mountains of Montana. The FBI has sent Molly to investigate.
Joe just moved to Montana for a new security job with his recently reunited Army service dog. He is soon working with and protecting Molly to find the terrorist activity.

I'm glad the service dog was able to find a home with Joe. While the book starts with Joe having suffered traumatic brain injury and knee surgery, he has recovered enough to work well with Molly and his new boss and coworkers.
Molly is a bit naive but it is her first field work.
Overall a good romance adventure. I've read better by this author but will try again.

Kujo and his military dog, Six, have been separated after Kujo was severely injured in an explosion 2 years ago. When he was healing and trying ti find himself again, Six was taken away and used in other deployments. When two of Kujo's friends find him in an isolated cabin in Montana and tell him that Six was also injured and is about to be put down because he in not adoptable, Kujo goes to get him and, together, they start to heal. Meanwhile, Molly, a new FBI agent is in the same mountains, trying to get evidence that an ISIS training camp is located near where Kujo lives. They stumble across each other as Six forces Kujo to find her after someone tries to kill her. This book was the kind you don't want to put down. It gives new meaning to the power of love between a pet and it's human. It also makes you realize how the power of love can help people heal and learn to trust again. I LOVED IT!

This book was excellant. This is my first book by Ms. James and I wasn't disappointed! This book shows how our country forgets about our wounded veterans and service dogs.
It was so great that Kujo pulled himself together to save his service dog 6 from being put down. after two members of his old unit found him in the mountains and offered him a job with the Brotherhood Protectors. 6 is a great dog. It was so great how he bonded with Molly when he meet her in the forest.
Molly an undercover FBI agent is looking for a ISIS training camp.
The relationship the three of them formed was terrific. I loved how when Molly was kidnapped 6 went crazy and alerted Kujo of the problem and followed the truck to get to her.
This was a very written story and now I'm going back to read the previous stories of the Brotherhood Protectors. I love this series!

Action and exciting from page one

This is the 6th book in the series and I read it in one setting. The whole series is great. I found the first one a little slow but picked up speed quickly. I was so glad I hadn’t given up as each of the series really pick up speed. I have read most of the books by Ellie James and from what I have read she is great in action stories, and exciting love stories. On reading the reviews one person said she couldn’t count the times she read the heroine wiggled her nose and acted disgruntled by it,so I paid attention and only found 3. There may have been some I missed, but by being so engrossed in the book I couldn’t have cared less. Great Military action is Ellie James triumphant card, and i love 💕 her books. I would recommend her books to anyone who wants action and exciting books that never fails to amaze me!!! Now on to book 7.

Loved It!

I enjoyed this book. Lots of intrigue and action and hot steamy scenes and who can resist a dog!?! Kujo worked with Six, a bomb sniffing dog, in his job with Delta Force until his medical release. Three years later Six was injured and is on doggie death row because families keep returning him. Two of Kujo’s buddies make him aware of Six’s predicament and a job opportunity in Montana with the Brotherhood Protectors. On their first day in Montana Kujo and Six run into Molly, an FBI agent, on her first solo mission doing recon. Molly is investing a possible terrorist training facility in the area. When her drone is shot down and she is chased off a mountain ledge by someone dressed in black, Kujo and Six save Molly and try to keep her safe.

Montana Dog Soldier by Elle James is a phenomenal military/security services romance. Ms. James has provided readers with a stellar cast of characters. Joe, aka Kujo, was injured in an explosion and forced out of the military. FBI agent Molly is investigating a possible terrorist camp in the Crazy Mountains. Kujo and Molly's story is loaded with action, suspense, humor and sizzle. This book will capture your attention and keep you reading from cover to cover. I loved reading Montana Dog Solider and look forward to reading more from Elle James soon. Montana Dog Soldier is book 6 of the Brotherhood Protector Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I read a print copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Joseph "Kujo" Kuntz was in the Army as a dog handler until the day that he was injured. Now he has become a loner. He lives off the grid and has little to no contact with other people. Till one day two of his friends came to see him. They told him if he didn't rescue Six, his German Shepherd do, they were going to put him down. They also offered him a job. Little did he know that he would love the solitude of Montana and re-train Six. Molly Greenbriar is an FBI analyst. She has picked up chatter that there might be an ISIS cell here in the US. Somehow she ended up in Eagle Rock, Montana by herself. Little did she know she was being targeted. Kujo and Six to the rescue along with the rest of the team. Loved this book.

What more does a man need than his dog and his woman?!

Molly, a green FBI agent, thinks there is an ISIS camp in Montana. She cons her boss into letting her check it out. Truthfully Molly was both green and seasoned at different times in the book.

Kujo (loved how author came up w that) or Joe has been a hermit for the last couple of years. Lost his place on the teams from an injury and his dog. Living off the grid in Colorado until Bear finds him. His dog is retired and will be put down if he doesn’t adopt him and offers him a job in the Brotherhood.

Kujo finds a remote cabin in Montana and witnesses someone diving off a four wheeler. When he finds the someone it is unconscious Molly. This story was well paced and good team work.
