Full of daring theories and fascinating tales from the world of Ice and Fire, Game of Thrones: The Book of White Walkers delves deep into the most riveting aspects of White Walkers – who they are, where they came from and where they are going. How did the First Men cross the Narrow Sea, habitat of the Children of the Forest, and how did the war of technology and magic unleash the White Walkers? Was it really Bran the Builder who constructed the Wall and what horror lies underneath it? And is the Wall truly the permanent structure fans perceive it to be, or will it be razed through one of the many ways hinted at in the books? Finally, can White Walkers be truly defeated, and if so, how?
A perfect gift for fans of the TV show as well as the book series, Game of Thrones: The Book of White Walkers serves as both an introduction and an accompaniment to the existing media. If you want to find out how the World of Ice and Fire came to be or what might happen next, this is the place to start!
Interesting fact and conjecture but writing is lacking
Full of major facts along with some less well known nuggets. Makes some predictions for Season 7. Some annoying (lack of) editing that in a couple instances causes misinterpretation of the primary subject of sentences. Good free read but wouldn't purchase it. The info in here can be found elsewhere with more flesh on the bones.
Good recap of what happens. Like the book vs show comparison. The narrator has a very fake sounding accent that is very distracting. Good for people who want the comparisons, not needed for people up to date on the show/books
Wonderful and a brilliant story what a brilliant mind to be able to write like this and also must be so proud to have his books made into an epic series
Nothing here that I don't know already from reading the books and watching the show. Book can be proofread and copy edited more properly. It felt like I was reading a draft or something.
If you download the ebook, which is free for Kindle Unlimited members, it has a note that states that the book is constantly updated, so the audio and print may not match up.
The audio does not cover the last episodes of the series which are being split into two seasons. The first half just concluded and the second half will play out next year.
The audio covers all that has happened with the White Walkers so far in both the books and the television show. The TV show is ahead time-line wise of the books, as Mr. Martin has deadline issues. There are still 2 more books due in the series.
This is a good catch up on things you may of missed so far as well as a nice refresher for before the season of the show starts. It also covers some theories and speculations, that as a fan, you know you have.
Leanne Yau does an excellent job of narrating this Non-Fiction read about a Fiction series. She presents the information in a clear and precise manner.
I give this a 5 for what it is, but also want to put a warning out there for those that are just starting the series either in print or TV, there will be spoilers.
