Perfect sequel to the movie! So if you liked the DREDD movie, I think you will like this one! So this volume contains 3 stories, first is DREDD: THE DUST. This story involves Dredd looking into a murder that happened during a Dust storm, I could be wrong but I think its a shortened version of what they probably would have done for DREDD 2(So sad we won't see it!); but overall I thought it was actually very good, its good murder mystery with an interesting villain and good artwork! Then we get the two Anderson stories: "Deep End" and "Judgement"; both were really good, they get Anderson just like she was in the movie, Badass, smart, but also caring and sympathetic to some criminals who deserve it. It nice solo stories where you can get to know Anderson a bit, without Dredd hogging all your attention! They also start to move closer to the comics, as things from the comics start to get established in the DREDD movie universe which was cool to see! But overall if you wanna see more of DREDD which we can't see on the big screen, defiantly give this one a read! I hope we get more comics based on the movie!

Judge Anderson is the best judge in Mega-City One, change my mind
As I sip a cup of synth-caf while recuperating from the latest drokking block war, I thought now would be the best time to type a few lines about this delightful little romp into the Judge Dredd universe. This collection, which is set in the same continuity as the 2012 Dredd film, features three short stories: "Dust", "The Deep End", and "Judgement Call." All three are standout and each has something to recommend it. My personal favorite out of the three is "The Deep End", primarily because it's a showpiece (literally, as Paul Davidson's art is great!) for how great and necessary Judge Anderson is within the Dreddverse; she's the one glowing light of hope in the otherwise grimdark post-apocalyptic shitshow that is Mega-City One and, arguably, planet Earth. If Judge Dredd is the judge Mega-City One deserves, Judge Anderson is the judge Mega-City One needs.

I loved the whole book. The first story of three was the most engaging with its hook of finding out who the murderer is and how he's killing his victims. Some very gruesome panels detailing the victims after death were very effective, quite shocking to an effective degree.
The second and third stories each gave something to consider. In the second, we see Anderson realise her potential and power, which was very impactful to me. IN the third, the dilemma of morality, legality, and justice all spin together, and through Anderson's actions, leaves the verdict of whether she made the right call in the end of the story to the reader. Personally, I found this one the most interesting.
As a whole, definitely worth the read. Great art, good writing, and different styles of stories that ensure at least one of them will stay in your mind.

Just not enough depth to anything. 3 short stories with extremely simple storylines and crude drawings. The first story is a detective story where everything between the big events is removed. They don't even investigate anything. Just find the bad guy right away and fight him. That's it. There is no exploration or interviews to figure out more. We get a flashback sequence telling us how the bad guy came about. But it should have been a cat and mouse game.
Then 2 stories about Anderson the blonde pretty girl judge. Again barebones. One story is just her being interviewed. It's all quite pointless. The other one is her fighting criminals which she defeats without doing anything physical at all. There are no themes or moral values to find here. For a Dredd story these stories tell us nothing about the fascistic society.

Three short but intriguing stories set after the Dredd movie, the first focuses on Dredd investigating a strange set of murders, while the second involves Anderson dealing with the pressures of being a street Judge, and the third one sees her getting her one year evaluation and going over one of her most recent cases. The limited page space doesn't allow for as much character development but each story acquits itself, its just that there's nothing dangerous either, perhaps because they didn't want it to affect a sequel movie.

Three short stories in Judge Dredd universe. Action is non-stop as expected :)
Considering short story concept don't expect character development or some convoluted plot because this cannot be packed in this format, authors assume you already know the main characters (Dredd, Anderson), way they operate and in general background of the Mega-City One law enforcement policies.
Do note that these stories are more in line with the Dredd movie then original comics. For me this was not an issue and I enjoyed the comic.
Recommended.

Stories set in the world of the awesome 2012 movie that do not live up to their source material. For whatever reason, I don't like stories from Judge Dredd Megazine as much as their 2000AD counterparts, and this is no exception.
The stories are fine, but they don't really do anything interesting with either character, only slightly developing them from their movie stories. And the art looks like a throwback to the 90s style, and not the better parts, either.
Not something I'd seek out, especially if you want more Karl Urban-style Dredd.

Good but not great
I enjoyed reading this, but there wasn't much to it. It's just three short stories. A Judge Dredd story and two Judge Anderson stories. Not bad or anything, but just not much there.

Anderson is a more humane approach than most judges and has cool psi powers.
