Ernest Shurtleff Holmes was an American New Thought writer, teacher, and leader. He was the founder of a Spiritual movement known as Religious Science, part of the greater New Thought movement, whose spiritual philosophy is known as "The Science of Mind." He was the author of The Science of Mind and numerous other metaphysical books, and the founder of Science of Mind magazine, in continuous publication since 1927. His books remain in print, and the principles he taught as "Science of Mind" have inspired and influenced many generations of metaphysical students and teachers. Holmes had previously studied another New Thought teaching, Divine Science, and was an ordained Divine Science Minister. His influence beyond New Thought can be seen in the self-help movement.

Pretty good thoughts around the power of conviction in one’s belief surrounding the law of the attraction etc. Besides that I found this book to promote too much propaganda for his religious intertwining beliefs between Christianity and New Age spirituality.

This book was recommended to me by a friend. I decided.. what the heck. I'll go ahead and read it - maybe a chapter a day. (They are really small and quick chapters.) Pretty soon I had read the entire book. I love this book. For me, it speaks to the essence of spirituality. Love it. I have it highlighted, tabbed and marked up. There are few weeks that go by where I don't open it for a quick reminder about something!

A more accurate title might be "The Art of Prayer", as this book contains some of the most clearly practical suggestions for postive, effective prayer I've ever read.

Written at a different time, but all the more impressive for it... Ernest Holmes is a very bright light in American Spiritual thought. Timeless themes and True Light shine through his readings. It is highly relevant and useful reading today. It is filtered through Christianity - but it's the very best of Christianity, so don't let that stop you. Please. One of the best in my bookshelf if you want to take things higher, or remind yourself how to stay there.

It's one of the best book i'd ever read! It life changing and change my perspective of life. I'd never thought so, and it so meaningful and deep in a sense of simplicity. I will definitely follow up his other books! He is awe inspiring. What i love most is this "Life, live in faith."

This is one of the rare books that I will read over and over. It is inspiring and practical. For those of us on a search, it's one of many maps.

This is a book best read in short spurts over a long period of time. If you read too much at once it can seem redundant. Very inspirational...in small doses.
