I really liked I adored this book! It was all I can ever wish for in a book!



It is charming, it is funny and it is romantic! It's romantic comedy at its very best. I thought I was over chick-lit. Turns out I was wrong. Very wrong. It had all the elements of a good chick-lit.

The heroine was easy to relate to. I adored her from the first page. Her family didn't treat her right. She was engaged to Mr Wrong. And she turned it all around. She grew so much over the span of the book.

The hero was swoony. As in chick-lit, he was a bit in the background. But it didn't matter. I routed for them and he was the perfect hero in a romantic comedy.



The plot was smart and well-crafted. I needed Kenzi to stand on her own two feet. She could save herself. And that made me so happy!

If you have a thing for romantic comedies - this is a must read! I've been disappointed by so many hyped books and I've been in a book slump, but I'm so happy to announce that it is finally over. My only wish is that I had been able to read it in one sitting. But life kept interrupting. I will read this soon again, and then I will shut life out. No words can convey how much I adored it.



And the epilogue. Best. Epilogue. Ever.

3* 'Tummy Flip Test' Stars

Cute story! Fans of romantic movies will really enjoy this one. I thought this was more 'chick lit' than romance, but it is still a fun romantic story with some over the top silly moments you might remember from some of your favorite movies.



The Story
Kensington Shaw is about to marry Bradley, the only problem is he doesn't pass the TFT: 'Tummy Flip Test'. But he is successful, everyone loves him, and he is ready to start that family she wants so much. Her hard-to-please mom even likes him, and her overly competitive sister-in-law Ren actually approves. He is perfect, right?

Then one day Shane, a British hunk and 'the one who got away' seven years ago, shows up at her office and turns everything upside down. You see, Shane still passes the 'Tummy Flip Test', BIG TIME. And he has never forgotten Kensie. Now he is determined to prove he is the right man for her, and uses their shared love for romance movies as leverage.

“So what should I be waiting for exactly?” Swallowing hard, I wait. I can’t believe I asked that. Shane takes a step forward and turns, stopping me with his hands. Warm copper eyes level to mine with intensity. “Me. You should be waiting for me.”

My Thoughts
LOVE LIKE THE MOVIES was a fun and witty romantic story that leverages a lot of great scenes from popular romance movies. I felt a bit lost as I haven't watched all of the movies referenced (or I have long forgotten most of the movie!), but I still really enjoyed the premise. (And now want to watch many of theses movies!)



It is told through Kensignton's POV, so in addition to the romance storyline we also watch her journey as she deals with her many (many!) family problems, with her work issues and possibly losing her job, with her questionable friends who may not have her back, and with Bradley's jealousy and his less-than-noble character.

The best parts (of course!) are the scenes with Shane and their heated moments as they re-enact different scenes from their favorite romantic comedies. Oh, they get a bit corny, but in a cute and sweet kind of way. You will be cheering for Shane by the end.

Unfortunately, Shane is a quiet and under-developed character, mostly because he really didn't get a lot of dialogue. He gets surprisingly few speaking parts for being the main 'hero' of the story, but we do get the benefit of Kensignton reminiscing about their previous relationship which helps us get to t know him better. Still, we never get a solid idea of what he is thinking, but what we do see is sweet, romantic, and convincing.


Final Notes
The sensuality / steam factor was pretty low. It's a bit more than kissing, but not by much. If you are looking for a hot and steamy contemporary, this isn't it. But if you are in the mood for a cute, sweet romance with some light humor and a bit of corny romance movie memorabilia, you will enjoy this one.

Lastly, I should mention that Kensington does NOT cheat on Bradley, and this isn't a love triangle. Both of which I was very thankful for!

من الواضح أنني سأتجه للروايات الرومانسية كثيراً الفترة المقبلة 🙄😂

لا أعلم ماذا فعلت بي هذه الرواية،
لكنها ببساطة أخذتني من عالمي إلى عالمها!

عشت مع بطلة الرواية حياتها البسيطة والمعقدة في نفس الوقت.
تعاطفت معها أحياناً، وشجعتها أحياناً أخرى.
فرحت وحزنت معها.
ضحكت وبكيت.
أحببتها وكأنها صديقتي!!

لن أتحدث كثيراً عن هذه الرواية اللطيفة للغاية
لأنها حب كالأفلام!

افتكر إن آخر قصة رومانسية كانت من مفضلاتي هي الجزئين نسيم الصبا و الأمواج السبعة. ولاني لا أميل للروايات الرومانسية مؤخرًا، فترددت أمام "حب كالافلام" و فكرت بتبديلها برواية جريمة 🕵‍♀️

و اعترف اني كنت مخطئة و اني استمتعت جدًا بصحبة "كينزي". السبب بسيط إن "كينزي" فتاة عادية، حلمها تختار شريك حياتها و تكون أسرة.

"كنتِ تقولين إنكِ لا تريدين حبًا فقط، بل تريدين حبًا كالأفلام."



مع مرور السنوات و مع اقترابها من الثلاثين و كأنه deadline، بتتحول أحلامها و أمنياتها الكبيرة لأحلام عادية.

"ربما لن تكون حياتي كالأفلام، لكن ما يزال يمكنها أن تكون جميلة."

نست "كينزي" أحلامها مع روتين الحياة و محاولاتها لإرضاء أهلها حتي في اختيارها لشريك حياتها و عملها.

"إنه يطابق المواصفات، لكنه لا يناسبك أنتِ"

و لفتت  نظري لتساؤلات منها

"أحياناً أتساءل عن حياتي، هل أعيشها لأنني أحبها أم لأنني لست شجاعة بما يكفي لأغيرها؟"


"كينزي" كانت صديقتي لمدة يومين، شاركتها ترددها و حزنها و صدمتها و تفاجأت معها و سعدت لسعادتها و حاولت مواساتها و دعمها ضد خذلانها من المقربين منها. و تعلمت منها ان السعادة اختيار يسوقه القدر إلينا في وقته المناسب.

"ربما لا توجد سعادة أبدية مع شخص ما دائمًا، ربما تكون سعادتي مع نفسي."

سعادة "كينزي" كانت بظهور "شاين" حبيبها السابق في الجامعة و بعودة "شاين" استعادت "كينزي" ذكرياتها، احلامها، شغفها بالافلام الرومانسية الأمريكية، و منها كانت بداية احياء "كينزي" و بحثها عن ذاتها و محاولتها لتغيير حياتها.

So many romcom scenes, loved it! The scene of Shane and Kensington from 27 dresses, that everybody knows is underrated, is there, and well, this is definitely underrated.



*A teeny tiny detail though... Only fans of the movie will get it but still: The scene is not from their Bennie and the Jets dance in this gif but from when both are shopping for Tess's wedding stuff.

It was so good; I know it's going to be one of my re-readables' whenever I'm in a reading slump or do not want to pick up a heavy read!

The story is about Kensington, who is 30 and engaged to her boyfriend, Bradley, whom her family loves and she thinks she loves... Then comes Shane Bennet, ex-boyfriend, as a client in her company (where Bradley also works) and they have to work together on a project where they have to reenact 10 rom-com movie scenes for the completion of the project.

The last thing that I want to state is that it is more of a fluffy rom-com, so don't expect anything more than a kiss. But there are real laugh-out-louds in this.

Özel Bir Kadın / Pretty Woman

Bu kitap da bu tarz filmlerden ilham almış ve o filmleri izlerken yüzünüzde oluşan gülümsemenin aynısını vaat ediyordu.

Konusunda akla gelebilecek bütün klişelere yer vermesine rağmen kitaba bayıldım, çünkü romantik komedi demek benim için klişeler demektir. Ve ben bu filmlerin ciddi anlamda delisiyim, defalarca izledim, yine izleyebilirim. Herkes gençlik döneminde erkek oyuncuların posterlerini duvarına asarken, ben Meg Ryan ve film afişlerini asardım.


Mesajınız Var / You’ve Got Mail

Kensington, yani esas kızımız, bütün film repliklerini ezbere söyleyebilen, yapılan herhangi bir film göndermesini asla kaçırmayan, duyduğu şarkının hangi filme ait olduğunu hemen anlayan, iflah olmaz bir romantik komedi delisiydi. Ailesindeki ve etrafındaki insanların davranışlarına rağmen, herkesi mutlu etmeye çalışırken kendi mutluluğunu unutmuştu. Kendisi için tek istediği şey, ‘Filmlerdeki gibi bir aşk’ yaşamaktı ve bu isteği de zamanla, hayatın akışında geri planda kalmıştı. Nişanlı olduğu, birlikte mutlu olduğunu düşündüğü birisi vardı ve bundan sonraki bütün planları onunla bir aile kurmak, birlikte çalıştıkları işinde başarılı olmaktan ibaretti. Ta kiiiiii 7 yıl önce ayrıldığı üniversite aşkı Shane😍😍 ona mesaj atana kadar?!



Shane’i ne kadar sevdiğimi anlatamam diye düşünüyorum. Çünkü ben bir erkek karakter yazsam, o kesinlikle Shane olurdu. Shane kusursuz, hatasız, mükemmel bir karakter değildi. Ama geçmişte yaptığı hatalardan ders almış, olgunlaşmıştı. En güzel yanı, Kensington’ın kendisini yeniden bulmasını sağlaması, ailesi ya da etrafındaki insanların değil, kendi mutluluğunun önemli olduğunu ona hatırlatmasıydı. Her hareketi öyle ölçülü ama aynı zamanda öyle kararlıydı ki ne yaptıklarından rahatsız oldum, ne de sevgisinden şüphe duydum.

Kitapta, birçok filme göndermeler ve filmlerden alıntı sahneler vardı. En eğlenceli bölümler de bu sahneler oldu. Daha önce izlediklerimin müziklerini açıp onların eşliğinde okudum. İzlemedikleriminse hem sahnelerini hem de şarkılarını bulup izledikten sonra okumaya devam ettim. Haliyle kitabı film izler gibi okumuş oldum ve her canlandırma, gözlerimin önünde oynanıyormuş gibi hissettim. Favori sahnelerimse, Benimle Evlenir misin, En İyi Arkadaşım Evleniyor ve tabii ki Sevginin Bağladıkları oldu.😍😍 Meg Ryan ve Tom Hanks canlandırmasında, gözlerimden kalpler çıkarırken aynı anda ağlayabiliyordum.😁


Sevginin Bağladıkları / Sleepless in Seatle

Tek olumsuz yanını da belirtmeden geçmeyeyim ki çevirisi çok kötüydü, tam anlamıyla Google Translate’te çeviri yapılmış gibiydi. İngilizce cümle yapısı, dilimize uyarlanmadan, olduğu gibi çevrilmişti. Geçmiş zaman, şimdiki zaman, geniş zaman ne kadar ek varsa karışık olarak kullanılmış, çoğu cümle, kelime kelime çeviri yapılmış gibi, devrik cümle halinde bırakılmıştı. Ama bu olumsuz yanı bile kitaptan aldığım zevki azaltamadı, bir süre sonra tarza alışınca gözüm çeviriyi bile görmedi açıkçası. Kensington, benimle dertleşiyor, yaşadıklarını anlatıyor gibi düşündüm.

Çok sevdiğim kitapları ne kadar anlatsam da kendimi ifade edemiyormuşum gibi hissederim. Bazıları Kalbini Dinler de öyle bir kitap benim için, hakkında saatlerce konuşabilir, sevgimi dağa taşa haykırabilirim. Uzun zamandır bu kadar beğendiğim, beni hem duygulandırıp hem güldüren bir chick-lit okumamıştım. Listedeki izlediğim/izlemediğim bütün filmleri seyredip tekrar okuyacağım bir kitap oldu.


Mesajınız Var / You’ve Got Mail

Benim gibi romantik komedi filmlerinin, izlerken yüzünüzde oluşan mutlu gülümsemenin, Sen Uyurken, Mesajınız Var, Harry ile Sally Tanışınca gibi filmlerden sonra damağınızda kalan tadın kölesiyseniz, bu kitabı mutlaka okumalısınız. (Yorumu yazarken bile gözlerimden kalpler çıkardım.😍😍)

Die 29-jährige Kenzi ist verlobt mit Bradley und träumt von einer Traumhochzeit und anschließender Familiengründung. Alles scheint perfekt zu sein, doch dann überschlagen sich die Ereignisse. Nicht nur, dass ihre Schwägerin schwanger ist und Kenzis Verlobung damit bei ihrer Familie in den Hintergrund fällt, es taucht auch noch Kenzis Exfreund Shane wieder auf. Plötzlich ist er ein wichtiger Auftraggeber, und Kenzi soll mit ihm zehn berühmte Film-Romantik-Momente nachspielen. Ihre Gefühle fahren Achterbahn...

Mein Leseeindruck:

Die Geschichte von Kenzi wird hier aus ihrer Sicht erzählt, was mir richtig gut gefallen hat. So kann der Leser sich gut in sie hineinfühlen und ihre Gedankengänge miterleben.

Kenzi ist eine sehr sympathische Protagonistin, die ich gleich ins Herz schließen konnte. Es hat mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht, ihre Geschichte mitzuerleben.

Die Story ist romantisch und humorvoll, hat aber auch Tiefgang. Eine sehr gelungene Mischung, wie ich finde.

Der Schreibstil ist leicht, locker, angenehm; eigentlich perfekt für diese Art Bücher. Man kann sich in die Geschichte hineinfallen und den Alltag hinter sich lassen.

Wer Lust hast, eine romantische Geschichte zu lesen, der kann mit diesem Buch eigentlich nichts falsch machen. Ich hatte sehr schöne Lesestunden mit der Lektüre!

رواية لطيفة للغاية تحمل نفس طابع الأفلام الأمريكية التي تجمع بين الرومانسية والكوميدية. وتحكي عن (كينزي) التي كانت وظيفتها على المحك، وفرصتها الوحيدة في إنقاذها تأتي عن طريق حبيبها السابق (شاين) الذي كان قد خانها وهجرها. ويوافق (شاين) على توقيع العقد مع شركة (كينزي) بشرط أن تمثل معه عشرة مشاهد من عشرة أفلام رومانسية معينة. وتضطر (كينزي) إلى الموافقة لتتوالى الأحداث الطريفة والرومانسية.

Yaa sen ne kadar güzel bir kitaptın öyle. Çook ama çook sevdim. O değil de, bence her kadının hayatında böyle bir erkek olmalı. Gerçekten müthiş iyi bir erkek karakterdi. Bana göre fazla ponçik ama olsun, böyleleri insanın ömrünü uzatır yemin ediyorum.

Kurguyu çok beğendim, tüm filmleri de izlemek üzere hemen kaydettim. Oynadıkları film sahnelerini çok güzeldi ya. Kitabın hemen hemen her sayfası içimi ısıttı. Bir oturuşta okuyup bitirdim. İşim olmasına rağmen ara ara kitaba bakmayı asla ihmal etmedim, çünkü kitabı düşünmeden duramadım. Kızın arkadaşı da yalnız iyi mal çıktı, maşallah istese bence bir orduyu bile idare edebilirmiş bana göre. Helal. Dediğim gibi, düşman başına.

4.5 Hilarious, Romantic Stars!

… “The world doesn’t always make sense, but in a good romantic comedy, I’m guaranteed a happily ever after.”….

Love like The Movies is not only an enchanting, entertaining, and amusing love story but also depicts a young woman’s journey of self-discovery and finding the courage to stop letting other’s make choices for her.

Kensington Shaw is on the brink of turning thirty. Her fiancé may fit her families’ approval more than hers, but Kensington can accept that because she’s ready to settle as she envisions her life plan of marriage and children finally coming to fruition.

All is going as planned until her ex-boyfriend, Shane Bennett, shows up as a client at the ad agency where she works. Desperately needing this account, she agrees to his proposition of living out ten Romantic Comedy movie moments with him, and then he’ll sign the contract.

Combining Contemporary Romance, Chick-Lit, and Romantic Comedy the author has crafted an engaging read with lovable, quirky characters. It’s filled with witty, clever dialogue and there are many laugh-out loud moments. This book sparkles and I could hardly believe this is a debut.

One of the aspects that make this such an appealing read is that most women can relate to a few of Kensington’s situations. She’s spent most of her adult life measuring her self-worth based on other people’s standards and not her own. Along the way she’s lost the essence of who she is as she conforms to other’s ideals. Heartache also played a major role in her decisions. Shane Bennett shattered her world when he walked away years earlier and now with his return, the carefully, designed road map she has for her life is quickly becoming utter chaos. There are so many hilarious, uproarious scenes readers should beware!

Coupled with the humor, you’ll also find tender, sensuous moments as well as somber and very relatable events. Shane is a sexy hero oozing charismatic charm and one of his best qualities is that he totally gets Kensington. His re-appearance throws a major kink into her plans and initiates a flood of internal searching.

If you love to watch Rom Com, I’m sure you’ll recognize many of the movies used throughout the story. I don’t think I’ve read anything quite like this and I loved it! The author very cleverly incorporates a few of the movie quotes/phrases perfectly into the character’s dialogue adding even more pleasure. Not only is this fun and highly entertaining, there’s also a beautiful and romantic story within these pages as well as an amazing Epilogue. Highly recommend to everyone who loves this genre.

Çoook güzeldi, çok klışeydi ve çok sevdim ,tam bir romantik komedi filmi tadindaydi😍yer yer sıkıldım çünkü adı geçen filmlerin yarıdan çoğunu izlemedim ve hangi filmdi diye derin düşüncelere daldım (daha az film olabilirdi ya da ben daha çok romantik komedi izlemeliymişim )O yüzden 4 veriyorum, bahsi geçen filmlerin hepsini izlemiş olsam eminim tam puan alırdı...

بداية الرواية خطفتني بسبب لستة الأفلام الرومانسية تنصح الكاتبة بمشاهدتها عشان نندمج أكتر مع الرواية.

رواية نقلتني لعالم أفلام التسعينات وخاصة أفلام توم هانكس وميج رايان، حالة من النوستالجيا تملكتني بالرغم من القصة الكليشيه بس كنت بنتظر الوقت اللي هقرأ كام صفحة منها.

كنزي بنت رومانسية حبت واتصدمت وقررت تعيش حياتها من غير مجازفة في أي حاجة تخصها ، خططت لكل حاجة بأمان ووصلت لكل حاجة ممكن تحلم بها أي بنت وظيفة كويسة وخطيب وسيم وأهلها راضيين عن حياتها الشخصية والعملية.
بس في حاجة ناقصة مش حاسة بفرحة كاملة أو رضا تام عن حياتها، وشاء القدر أن يلعب لعبته ويعدل في خططها بظهور حبها القديم كعميل لشركتها وتصميمه على تنفيذ مشروع شروطه مشاهدة وتنفيذ مشاهد من الأفلام الرومانسية اللي بتحبها.

D&R'da Parodi indirimi olunca 'hadi bir cesaret' deyip aldım. Bir giriş yapayım, 50 sayfa filan okuyup ara veririm diye başladım. Ama bırakamadım elimden. Su gibi akıp geçti. Ne zamandır ilk sayfalardan beni kendine bağlayacak bir kitaba denk gelsem diye bir isteğim vardı. Bu kitapla dileğim yerine gelmiş oldu ;) Elimden gelse hiç elimden bırakmaz, bitirene kadar okurdum!

uzuuuuuuun süredir kitabı elime alıp okuyamıyordum, yoğunluk filan fistan. ama bugün okuma kararımı verdim ve bitirdim! ve aşırı bir mutluluk duyuyorum, çünkü kitap aşırı sevilesi bir şeydi. romantik komedi izlemişim gibi hissediyorum. hele son bölümde shaw'ın yaptığı vs. her şeyiyle mükemmeldi. daha önce böyle bir kitap okuduğumu düşünmüyorum, kesinlikle şans vermelisiniz!

It's official, I'm a bitter, old lady. Not even my love for movies saved me this time.
What's the phrase they use, when they want to break up? Ah, yes, "it's not you, it's me".
And in this case, it's really me.
I've lost the ability to feel something for this kind of stories. Romantic comedies makes me want to kill everyone involved, with a few exceptions like My Best Friend's Wedding and Sixteen Candles. (Maybe even Pretty Woman)
Not to mention that chick-lit is definitely not my genre, anymore.

I cannot sympathize with a 29-year-old woman (I'm only a year younger) who evaluates her life in terms of marriage and babies. I cannot help but cringe when I read that a woman wants a big wedding, followed immediately by a baby because she's almost 30. I find it depressing, not just for a woman, but for a human being in general.
We're more than that. We're more than a bundle of crazed hormones looking for a release. Our purpose in life must be something deeper, more meaningful.
And it's not that I hate weddings or babies, don't get me wrong. I just think that a woman who wants to spend thousands of dollars for her "big day", just wants to show off. She wants to make her friends and relatives jealous, wants to be the star for a day, forgetting probably that the ceremony involves two people, not just her. Why should it all be about the bride? What has she done to be regarded as an idol? I see a wedding as an affirmation of love between a couple. They are, together, the stars, they're a symbol.

Maybe there's just something wrong with me, because I don't feel this need to get married or have babies.
I don't think I'm a loser because my boyfriend hasn't proposed yet. I don't need a big ring on my finger to prove people that I'm happy. (Considering how the story was developing, Kensington didn't need it either)
I want my lover to listen to me and be my friend. I want to share my life with him, I don't care if he spends all his money on a stupid ring for me. I'd rather do something together with it.

I'm so sorry, but I couldn't go on. I'm sure you romantic people will love it, though.

حب كالأفلام .. رواية حب سينمائية بامتياز

عادة لمّا بنقول على رواية إنها "سينمائية" فده بيكون فيه تقليل من "أدبية" أو "فنية" الرواية، كإننا بنقول إنها مجرد سيناريو مرسوم حلوة، لكن الحقيقة إن رواية "حب كالأفلام" للروائية الأمريكية فيكتوريا فان تيم قدمت نموذج معتبر جدًا للرواية المكتوبة بحرفية وذكاء، واللي فيها استخدام لتقنيات السيناريو السينمائي، بل وأكتر من كده اعتماد على أفلام رومانسية معروفة.
واحد من تحديات هذه الرواية الأساسية في ظني إنها عرفت تقدم قصة حب ذكية ومحبوكة وتشد ليها ال��ارئ بتفاصيلها المختلفة، مش كده وبس، لأ وتعتمد على "قائمة الأفلام الرومانسية"، وتجعل موضوعها جزء من الحبكة الرئيسية للرواية، لأننا هنلاقي البطلة "كينزي" بيتعرض عليها مشروع إنها تعمل مطعم وتستخدم في ديكورها لوحات من الأفلام دي، وده طبعًا من خلال "شاين" اللي كان حبيبها السابق. في الوقت اللي هي فيه بتجهز فعلاً لخطوبتها.
العلاقات بقى بين البنت وعائلتها، وبينها وبين خطيبها، بيتم رسمها بذكاء جدًا، ومواقف عديدة بتخلينا نحس إن الرواية مش بعيدة عن أجواءنا الشرقية، رغم الانفتاح اللي عندهم طبعًا، البنت برضو مهتمة بصورتها أمام العائلة، وهنلاقي عندها تضارب بين الحبيب السابق والخطيب الحالي، وبعدين هندخل في مجموعة من المواقف والمفاجآت، الل أكيد هتنهي الرواية/ والفيلم نهاية رومانسية حالمة .. بس جميلة
تنضم هذه الرواية بكل تأكيد إلى قائمة الروايات الرومانسية الجميلة، وكان ظريف إني تعرفت عليها أثناء إعدادي لحلقة برنامج عن عيد الحب، واتأخرت في قراءتها شهر بحاله، ولازم في هذا الصدد أشكر الصديقة القارئة المحترفة أسماء رمضان، لإنها قرأتها قبلي وشجعتني أقراها جدًا. وأشكر تطبيق رفوف برضو لأني تقريبًا لولا إني لاقيتها عليه مكنتش هقراها 
وطبعًا شكر واجب أيضًا للمترجمة هند عادل على الترجمة الاحترافية وتقديم رواية محدش تقريبًا يعرف عنها حاجة
الروايات الرومانسية الجميلة زي إيه بقى؟ زي نسيم الصبا كده مثلاً والأمواج السبعة، واللي عنده اقتراحات تانية يقولها.
عاوز أقول في النهاية إن حالة هذه الرواية الفريدة خاصة جدًا، ولايمكن التعبير عنها بالكلمات، يجب على كل قارئ أن يتعرف عليها بنفسه.

Kenzi has everything she could ever dream for. A good job working for an advertising agency and the perfect fiancé. Even if she's constantly runner-up in her family's affections to her oh so perfect sister-in-law, things look pretty good.

Then her ex-boyfriend, Shane walks into the advertising agency and she quickly discovers, the agency is having financial problems, her job is on the line, and they desperately need Shane's business. She is ordered to do everything she can to secure the account, but she wasn't expecting to be re-enacting scenes from her favorite romantic comedies.


Love Like the Movies is great fun. It really does read like one of those great romantic comedies of the 1980s and '90s. It's a book that will leave you with a silly smile on your face and feeling good for days.

I should note that some might shy away from this book because it's about a love triangle. I know that's a trigger issue for many readers of romance. It's a trigger issue for me as well, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say I had no problems with this book at all. That aspect doesn't really play into the story all that much and lovers of cute, quirky romances will love this book.
