Loved this series. So much good imagery and fantastic characters. There was definitely a slow point during the skull throne which was rough to get through.

I'd recommend audio books over reading them outright for the sake of all the cultural references the author makes to the world he created. I'm fairly certain there are some paragraphs written almost entirely in a different made up language.

As the books come closer to the end of the series the author pulls from a great bank of characters and history that was well placed throughout the books.

I highly recommend for any fantasy fan
