Impressive! Terrific new author for myself to follow. I have been looking at books by Kerry Washington for quite some time and finally have had the great pleasure to read this story. The book did not disappoint. The story revolves around a UK police department and follows the main character Jessica Daniel, who happens to be a hardworking detective and also she is working through a few personal traumas while investigating a serial killer's movements after a new murder shows similar signs of his m.o., although this man has been imprisoned 17 years for his crimes. The public is outraged at his release so the ex -convict is given a new identity and and some police protective custody for a small amount of time, since there are too many people who would enjoy seeing this man's demise. There are many twists and turns within this story that kept me quickly turning page after page not wanting to stop reading. Every chapter had suspenseful situations and delightful interactions among the many likable and entertaining characters. This book is part 5 of a series and i felt this story stood strong as a stand-alone since it gave enough background history to enable me to understand everything that was taking place and not having a series if questions about the past books. I truly enjoyed this book and feel Kerry Wilkinson is a wonderful writer and I will certainly read more books by this author. I want to thank Netgally and the publisher Bookouture for allowing me to read this book for my honest and unbiased review. I highly recommend this book and given a rating of 5 Impressive 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars!! .

Kerry Wilkinson has done it again. The Jessica Daniels series are police procedural at their best. Well defined characters, an engaging plot and a dry sense of humor. The amazing thing is that at book 12, the series shows no sign on going slack.

Jessica’s miserable week starts off with a rock star possibly being targeted, a serial rapist being released from a secure hospital under a new identity, and a bride-to-be picketing the police station over a missing fiancé.

Jessica’s a complex soul. “Jessica was never sure who the real her was: the outgoing, confident person at work, or the introspective silent shadow that ghosted around the void she called home.” DCI Topper is a great addition. He thinks like Jessica and has no stomach for the office politics that encompass police work.

Jessica is mellowing and there’s not as much snarky humor as in past books. But I love how the team continues to grow and gel. In the end, all the different stories get tied up with neat bows.

My thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book.

This is the 12th book in the Jessica Daniel series by author Kerry Wilkinson. A good solid read that kept me gripped but if I am honest not the best in the series.
Damian Walker's voices in his head told him to abduct five women and was sent to prison for his sins. Seventeen years later he is about to be released back onto Manchester’s streets with a new identity. Within hours of his release there is another attack which bears a similarity to his previous crimes. Damian Walker pleads his innocence and can prove it was not him but who would try to frame him. DI Jessica Daniel and her chief are told to keep an eye on Walker, but she has other things on her mind.

A good read and could easily round my rating up but with only 5 stars to choose from difficult to mark higher.

After reading several of the author's books featuring Jessica Daniel without really relating to the Greater Manchester, England, detective investigator, I think I've finally warmed up to her. To be clear, all the books I've read have been very good - it's just that Jessica herself wasn't a character I would be eager to sit down with at a bar and share drinks. This installment, though, won me over; so Jessica, if you ever cross the Pond and land in northeastern Ohio, I'm buying.

How that mental switcheroo came about is a sort of yin-yang thing, actually. There are so many different "plots" going on in this one that it's almost hard to keep the players straight (and the bits with the rock star who thinks a ghost is out to get him and bridezilla-to-be whose fiance has gone missing are, quite honestly, borderline silly). On the other side of the equation, all those story lines provide greater insights into Jessica's background and personality, thus allowing me to get to know, and like, her better - so all's well that ends well. And speaking of endings, as is the author's norm in this series, there's a cliffhanger - but it's not nearly as in-your-face as in previous books.

Jessica is still struggling with the loss of Adam, the love of her life and the victim of a car bombing meant for Jessica. He's been in a hospital in a coma from which he's not expected to recover for quite some time, pitting her hope against reality. She's also desperate to find her teenage friend Bex, a runaway who's been living with Jessica but suddenly went missing. The primary story, though, is the release from mental hospital custody of Damian Walker, who abducted and gruesomely murdered several women 17 years earlier. Deemed "safe" for society, he's been stashed in a sort of witness protection program under a new name. Not long afterward, another woman is murdered in a similar fashion, raising suspicions that Walker is neither safe nor sane. Problem is, he wears a leg monitor 24/7 and clearly never left his house. Among those most upset is Anne, one of Walker's years-ago targets who managed to survive with serious physical and mental injuries.

After yet another woman turns up dead, Jessica and her team are charged with finding out whether Walker is somehow escaping or someone else is trying to frame him. In between, she has to deal with that very annoying bride-to-be - who's managed to make a media spectacle of herself and the cops who aren't helping her - and that rock star who seems to have taken a shine to Jessica. Oh yes, and worry that Bex flew the coop because of something Jessica said or did.

All in all, another satisfying series entry. I thank the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review it.

Oh, Kerry Wilkinson, how cruel you are to end your books with a cliffhanger and then force us to wait endlessly (it seems) for the next in the excellent Jessica Daniel series!

DI Jessica Daniel is as busy as ever! Based at the Longsight Police Station in the Manchester area, she has a caseload that keeps her working day and night. In this outing, Jessica teams up with DCI Lewis Topper as they monitor and work a bit behind the scenes while the rest of the team gets the groundwork on.

After the serial killer known as "Jaws" is released from a secure hospital after 17 years and is relocated in protective custody, the former Damian Walker who attacked 5 young women (only 4 died), is meant to be known as Eric Seasmith. Fitted with an ankle bracelet and monitored by 2 witness protection officers, Millie Evans and Clayton Gordon, Eric is set up in a house for his own safety as the public outcry escalates when it becomes known that he's been released. Supposedly well away and in the company of the two WPOs, the city goes nuts when 2 women are found killed in the same way as done by "Jaws". NO SPOILERS.

The second case Jessica becomes involved with has to do with a visiting rocker, Blaine Banner, who claims he is receiving death threats. In addition, a young woman named Ellie Scanlon, is picketing the station and clamoring for the police to find her missing fiancé. Whew! Jessica has a lot on her plate and it's just as well because she has to face some serious decisions in her personal life especially since she's back to living alone since Bex has gone.

As always, the author juggles all of the parallel plots and keeps the action moving forward. The great interplay between the team members, the snarky dialogue, and the personality of the characters is always entertaining. Jessica has calmed down with age and maturity no longer such a liability with her reactions and impulses. I love seeing how the team is changing and evolving. The police/crime elements are there as well, and I'll continue to eager await the next installment in this gripping series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the e-book ARC to read and review. Hey, when can I expect to see #13??????

Eye for an Eye is the twelfth book in the Jessica Daniel series by Kerry Wilkinson, and after binge reading the series over December I couldn't wait to dive into this book, especially with the cliffhangers and unfinished events from the previous books.

After the long break between reading the first book, to catching up on the series, I had forgotten how much I love this world, and how 'real' it feels....it's up the motorway from me so it's pretty easy for me to imagine the accents, the tone of voice used, as well as any slang words used.

Eye for an Eye was everything I expected from the author, as well as the series itself, below are some key things that really stood out and made this a five star read.

♦ I loved seeing some old faces back with Jessica and working as part of a secret team, I really did miss the banter and in jokes.
♦ The addition of a new face to the team,Ruth Evesham, not only added another person to the mix, but also has you hoping she will be a new ally for Jessica.
♦ Jessica shows her tough side and how she's not a person to mess with, but also another side to her, one that has emotions and has to make tough decisions for the future.
♦ It had me in tears....a lot, especially over a tough decision.
♦ I missed Bex and her spark, how she gets along with Jessica so well and how mothering Jessica is towards her.
♦ I love the setting and how it all feels like a possibility
♦ I enjoy trying to solve the mystery before the end....which I never seem to succeed in doing :)

The Jessica Daniel series is one that never gets old, each new book bringing a whole new story as well as an underlying sub plot that continues through several books. I really don't want this series to end, but I also know an end is coming soon.

Eye for an Eye – Manchester’s Finest Inspector

Those who do not know Detective Inspector Jessica Daniels, where have you been? This is one female detective, who having to fight her way up in the police, with enemies on the inside and out, certainly likes doing things her own way.

Daniels is based at Longsight Police Station, a couple of miles outside of the city centre, and is base to many of Greater Manchester Police’s finest. When after a briefing Acting Chief Constable asks for her and her line manager, DCI Topper to remain behind she is suspicious. Knowing nothing good ever comes from these sort of briefing, she knows she was correct when told their assignment.

Her and Topper have been given the job of backing up a witness protection team who have Damian Walker, a convicted killer to manage. A new name, a new house, a new area of Manchester, everything should be fine.

When bodies start appearing, that are similar to the crimes committed by Walker, Daniels and Topper have to run a parallel investigation. Little do they know what that will cost, especially as they can only ever be reactive, especially when Walker’s new identity and house is announced on social media.

Walker is on the run and has taken a hostage of one of the protection officers, and nobody has a clue where he might go. At the same time there are reports that the officer’s pregnant wife has been taken also. Daniels knows she is up against the clock for a successful outcome to come out of this disaster.

At the same time Daniels must deal with rock star Blaine Banner, who is playing a series of homecoming gigs at the Manchester Arena. At the same time, he is convinced that someone is trying to kill him, not that it helps that he spends most of his time out of his mind on drink and drugs.

While outside Longsight Police Station a bride-to-be is picketing them demanding that they find her fiancé and that the police are not doing enough. When the gossip sheets get involved, Daniels must ignore them and carry on.

Whether she can solve all the various investigations going on, as well as search for her room mate and keep her sanity is the big question. How will she be able to solve these alleged crimes and get on with the rest of her life, you will have to read to find out.

Once again Kerry Wilkinson has delivered a brilliant Daniels thriller that will keep you guessing all the way to the end.

I liked this one, but I'm getting tired of cliffhangers and major plot points that don't go anywhere for several books. It originally worked with the Adam explosion storyline, but when that didn't end up going anywhere , I started to lose faith that there was a plan for the others.

I have already read several books by this author and every time he surprises me with a different kind of story telling. It seems like he is like several writers living in one body. I never know what to expect, but he delivers time after time.

I totally love Jessica. She is my kind of girl the way she gives the impression of giving in but always coming out on top and she often made me smile.

I like the way the author mixes some jokes with the suspense. I had figured out a part of the secrets, but it did not disturb me. There was so much going on in this story that the author could keep me entertained.

I normally hate cliffhangers but when it is certain that a sequel will be written to explain everything then I don’t mind. I hope from the bottom of my heart that we will know what happens next soon. 4 stars.

Thank you, Kerry Wilkinson, Bookouture and Netgalley.

I love the Jessica Daniels series and this book is another great read.
Jess is faced with a gruesome murder just after another murderer, Walker, has been released. She thinks she’s going to investigate it but the powers that be put her and Topper on a parallel investigation keeping an eye on Walker, who now has a new identity.
As well as this she is the point of contact for a rock group staying in a nearby hotel and she gets called out for threats against the lead singer, but all is not what it seems.
Bex is still missing and Jess is really struggling to cope as she doesn’t know why she’s gone or who may have took her.
This is a gripping read and I can’t wait for the next book.

Kerry Wilkinson has gone and done it again, releasing the 12th book in the Jessica Daniels series, An Eye For An Eye, is there any more that Kerry can publish, a relentless series which just gets better and better the more Kerry writes. If you haven’t read any of the books regarding Jessica Daniels, I would regard it as a must to obtain the full effect of the continuation of the series.

An Eye For An Eye opens with the release of a known serial murderer who killed women seventeen years previously, Walker spent his years incarcerated in a hospital where medication controlled his psychosis. Within a short after his release a murder is committed bearing all the hallmarks of his past crimes, is he stable and no longer a threat or has he committed another heinous crime. Jessica becomes embroiled in the case surrounding Walker supporting witness protection, but also investigating the possibilities that Walker may have pulled the wool over the experts eyes and is not reformed.

While Jessica tackles one investigation, she is compelled to examine another, a rocker Blaine Banner believes he is being targeted and someone is trying to kill him, if this wasn’t enough Jessica’s case load just intensifies, cumulating in three investigations including a missing fiancé.

Jessica’s personal life is still in a perpetual state of turmoil, but her gutsy and strength of character, is what pertains to get her through a day. Jessica in this series has decisions to make which will affect everyone surrounding her. Kerry has built strong characters into the plotline some I didn’t care for but hey ho we can’t all be perfect. If I’m truthful Blaine Banner was a character that don’t sit well with me, maybe because of his childish antics in procuring the services of the police to pander to his insane revelations pertaining to the attempt on his life.

Kerry managed to build a plot which held my attention and had me gravitating to the main investigation but also as light relief the side plots facilitated a smooth transition of different investigative styles that Jessica portrayed according to the scenario.

An Eye For An Eye is a thoroughly captivating book which I couldn’t leave alone, the intense and suspenseful narration had me literally begging for more, roll on the next in the series,

Thank you to Kerry Wilkinson for the advanced readers copy of An Eye For An Eye to read and review in exchange for my honest opinion.

The police and his last victim – who miraculously survived an attack seventeen years earlier – learn that Damian Walker has been released from custody. He had murdered four women and was attempting to murder the fifth when she escaped and Walker was caught.

DI Jessica Daniel and her boss DCI Lewis Topper respond to the call of an eighteen-year old girl named Casey Graves who was murdered in an historic hall in a park. It is down pouring rain. The murder is remarkably similar to the ones that Damian Walker committed.

Topper and Jessica make a visit to Walker, who is in witness protection with a new name that he does not like and is uncooperative but his minders say that he did not leave the house, and he has an ankle monitor that backs this up. They next visit the hospital where Walker was incarcerated. The doctor assures them that Walker is cured and is no longer a danger to society. Only a very few know Walker’s new identity and where he now lives.

The police and the media are in a dither. Speculation is already rife in the media and the police have to begin an investigation of the young woman from scratch. The lead on the Graves case is given to another team led by Superintendent Deacon, but Topper and Jessica decide to run a little investigation of their own with very few trusted officers beneath them – DS’s Izzy and Archie, DC’s Dave Rowlands and Ruth Evensham.

Jess is also looking into the disappearance of Liam McGregor. His fiancé Ellie Scanlon has been all over the radio and television claiming that the police are doing nothing. She is picketing the police station on a daily basis. Jess also has had to deal with her feelings about her own fiancé Mark being in hospital in a coma. And let’s don’t forget her having to be at a rock star’s beck and call, the paranoid and junkie Blaine Banner. He sees ghosts and claim that someone is trying to kill him, but there doesn’t seem to be any evidence – he either eats it or forgets it.

Another woman is murdered and this puts Deacon’s team in deeper and they have nothing. They have been told to stay away from Walker, that he was not involved. But was he? Did he manage to get out of the ankle monitor?

In a thoroughly surprising move, we learn the name of the murderer and the conspiracy surrounding the murders.

This is a very well written and plotted novel. I really like Jess and Topper, and the way they get along and also with their team. They are of a like mind and they get the job done. This novel has a painstaking police investigation with some action as well. I like police procedurals, especially the ones in which the investigating team get along well. The book is well thought-out and follows a linear path. That is to say one event logically follows another. Ms. Wilkinson has written a very good book and I await her next one. I have truly enjoyed all of the DI Jessica Daniel books, but this one surely tops them all!

I want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for forwarding to me a copy of this absolutely great book for me to read, enjoy and review.

It's been a while since I read the last Jessica Daniel book. Although Mr Wilkinson has been keeping me busy with a couple of stand alone books in between times, I have really missed the lovely Ms Daniel and was extremely excited when I got my hands on this book. It's book 12 in the series so there is a quite a bit of catching up to do if you haven't been following from book one but, believe me it would be well worth doing that before tackling this one, obviously for background, character development, and series arcs, but also because they are, in my opinion, really darned good!
In this book we catch up with Jessica as she is told of the release of Damian Walker. He has been kept incarcerated in a hospital after abducting women some seventeen years ago. Now stable on his medication, he is deemed no longer a threat and has been released into the community and given a new secret identity. Obviously there are some who don't agree with this decision and believe that he is not reformed and should never have been let out. Shorty after his release, there's an attack that bears a lot of resemblance to his crimes. Are the naysayers right and he has struck again or is someone trying to recreate his crimes to frame him? Jessica is soon on the case but her time is also being taken up by a rather fit rock star who believes that his life is in danger and keeps calling on her when strange things happen to him. To top it all, there are the usual shenanigans going on within the force as well as Jessica's past catching up with her, leading to some rather painful decisions she has to make.
Well, it's all going on in this book but then, with her personal life once again in turmoil, Jessica needs some good crime solving to get her head stuck into. And she definitely doesn't go lacking here with the allegedly reformed criminal being released and the rather juvenile, badly behaved rock star to practically babysit. She has to have her wits about her in the release case as things really don't make sense for quite a long time. All the theories she comes up with have some element of impossibility to them, at least on the surface. I have to admit to having a slight inking as to what was going on but, at the end of the day, I was nowhere near the full picture. With this crime being rather heinous and the rock star death threats being somewhat intriguing, Mr Wilkinson pops in yet another small thing for the Police to get to grips with and I found that storyline to be rather welcome as respite to what else was going on around and about; loved it!
As with the rest of the books in the series, it's the characters that really make the story come alive. I am not just talking about the usual familiar faces of Jessica's police family, although they are all front and centre in this book, dishing out all the usual interaction and banter that I expected. There are also some cracking extras in this book itself. I have to give a special mention to rock star Blaine Banner and the shenanigans that go on around and about him specifically. I just thought he was brilliant and would love to see him popping up again maybe in the future. Manchester obviously plays its usual part, almost as a character in its own right, but specifically key for some elements of this story.
And now we come to Jessica, she has a bit of a rum deal personally in this book, mostly to do with her love life past and present but that's all I am going to mention here. Spoilers. Suffice to say that she is her usual no-nonsense, gutsy, hard working cop that I really quite admire.
Finally, I have to mention that other thing. If you've followed this series you'll know what I am talking about. Not a fan of cliffhangers. Especially not a fan of then dragging on too long but, as this author and this series is so good, I am willing to let my fury die down and just sit here, waiting patiently for the next book. Hopefully things will become clear soon.

Eye for an Eye is the 12th entry into the Jessica Daniel series and it is a good one. Three separate stories are intermingled here, all unrelated but all interesting in their own right.

Jessica is back on form, continuing to show the vulnerability explored in previous entries. Her friends and colleagues take a bit more of a back seat here. There is not as much time spent on Dave and Archie, and almost nothing on Hugo and Caroline. Instead we see her growing relationship with Topper as the main interplay. I wonder if this partnership will continue in future iterations?

For my personal taste, the whole Blaine Banner piece was a little overdone and completely out of the realms of reality. The other side story, regarding the missing fiancé, however, was something I could certainly see happening in real life.

Quite interesting too is how the character of Jaws is portrayed, almost with sympathy which is a welcome change from the usual monster that you would find in such novels.

Overall Eye for an Eye is a good entry into the Jessica Daniel series, and is recommended to fans of the protagonist.

I was first introduced to DI Jessica Daniels when I was off sick from work after an accident, I became engrossed in this series and had so many to read, so much so, I felt I was Jessica Daniels by the time I was due to go back to work ha ha!!! So when I saw that the new one was out, to say I was delighted is an understatement.

There are a few different plots going on in “Eye for an Eye” with the main one being about a serial killer “Jaws” being released into society. Damian Walker attacked and murdered 4 women, the 5th one got away but not before having her stomach sliced open! She is outraged when 17 years later, she hears of Walker’s release. He is being given a new identity, a fresh start, what about her, she has to live with what he did to her for the rest of her life!

When the body of a young woman turns up, its up to Jessica and Co. not to prove that Walker committed the crime but in fact the opposite….. to prove that he did not do it. Instead of Walker being the criminal, he was the one being protected, a victim of past circumstance perhaps. How would you feel protecting a serial killer?

Jess has also been tasked with the disappearance of Liam McGregor who went missing from his stag party. His fiancé Ellie Scanlon is picketing outside the police station on a daily basis accusing them of doing nothing to find her “Liam”. How can she find someone else’s loved one when she has no clues as to where Bex is?

As if she hasn’t enough on her plate, she was also given the task of “babysitting” rock-star Blaine Banner who claims that a ghost is trying to kill him!!!

With so much going on with work and Jess having to deal with so many personal issues including the disappearance of Bex and oh poor Adam, she is caught between a rock and a hard place having been told he will never wake from his coma and that there is no brain activity, the decision has been made to turn off the life support. How will Jess cope with all this, how could anyone?

Another fantastic instalment in this series and what a cliff hangar to leave it on, seriously why do that to us fans…. I need to know NOW!!! How long are you going to make us wait with baited breath!!!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion

As soon as I received this free preview I realised just how much I have missed Jessica Daniel this year. The storyline is as enthralling as ever.

There is the usual band of familiar faces at Longsight plus some old characters from the past.
This is not a standalone book. For anyone not familiar with the series I would strongly recommend going back at least a few books, if not to the beginning, to become familiar with Jessica’s story.

There are many well-developed characters and all kinds of conflicts. It starts with a serial killer being released after serving his sentence, and Jessica is tasked with keeping his new identity safe.
The rivalries within the Force makes for some interesting interplay between the characters as more cases come into Longsight. Jessica is still dealing with events from her personal life and there is an old threat in the background that has never been resolved.

The book flows smoothly through the events provoking a whole range of feelings both good and bad. Kerry Wilkinson knows how to transport one narratively to the heart of Manchester and gives his readers a true feeling of belonging and of sharing in all the emotions that he elicits in his story.
I really enjoyed reading ‘An Eye for an Eye’.

A 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ INTRIGUING READ!!

"Eye for an Eye" is a heart-stopping read! It's well-written and full of suspense!

Jessica is working a case that's similar to a case 17 years ago. Two young women have been attacked and Jessica must find out who did it.

Bex is still missing with no idea where she's gone - her biological mother goes to Jessica to see if she has any information. Will Bex contact Jessica? Where is she?

The ending is intense! As Jessica and her team put the pieces together - the people you didn't suspect are the ones involved!

Jessica has so much on her mind - she's living two different lives - one with Adam and his condition and one with her police work. It's the only way she can function. Jessica is a private person; she doesn't trust herself to express her pain. I feel for Jessica - her pain is gripping and tragic.

Kerry has written a knock-out story! The characters continue to grow and develop; especially Jessica - she's been through so much.

Kerry's books keep getting better and better! I highly recommend the entire series!

I look forward to reading book 13... "Silent Suspect"!

Detective Jessica Daniel is still reeling from traumatic events in her personal life. Bex, the homeless girl she’d taken in, is still missing. And Adam, her fiancé, is still in a coma, and a decision over what to do will soon need to be made. EYE FOR AN EYE was an outstanding book in the series, with several different investigations going on at once. In one, Jessica tries to figure out if a rock star is actually being harassed or is just crazy and on drugs and hallucinating the whole thing (this plotline was funny and Wilkinson’s writing is delightfully snarky.) In the main storyline, a serial killer who savagely killed their victims is being let out after many years in a psychiatric facility. He’s been allowed a name change and Jessica is one of the police officers assigned to protect him at times, and when copycat killings begin occurring in the area, to get to the bottom of things. That plotline was intricately plotted and well done. Looking forward to the next in this series! 5/5 stars.

This book is the twelfth in the Jessica Daniels series and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The author balances Jessica's work and personal life so well.

A convicted murderer, Damien Walker, has been released from a psychiatric unit after seventeen years; given a new identity (against his will) and placed in a safe house. Jessica is tasked with keeping an eye on him. Another murder, with similarities to Walker's historical ones, occurs. Could Walker have done it or is there a copycat murderer on the streets of Manchester.

Jessica's time is being taken up investigating constant calls from rockstar, Blaine Banner, who is playing a week of concerts in the city. He is convinced someone is trying to murder him. Is he imagining it? Does he have a 'thing' for Jessica?

Jessica has worries in her personal life with her fiancé, Adam, and her young friend, Bex.

All in all this is a brilliant book and I highly recommend it - it certainly kept me guessing.

Eye for an Eye, Jessica Daniels #12, by author Kerry Wilkinson is another very good and anticipated addition to this series. Oh WOW! The books get better and better with good characters, believable plots, and suspense. The reader also feels the internal upheaval of Jessica's private life in regard to Adam. Oh My Heart, that was sad!
In this book, there are several things going on in Jessica's life and making sure a recently released criminal is not leaving bodies for her to find is the top priority. Administrative politics is ever a challenge to negotiate when Daniels and Topper are told to watch the movements and dig into the history of Damien Walker without appearing to be investigating. Yes, more double-talk to cover someone else's career and to also solve the mystery of who is killing these women in a close MO as Walker.
Eye for an Eye is a very good choice for readers who enjoy a strong female character, life-like situations, and suspense!

I was lucky to be sent this book free by the Author, And am I so pleased I was, having followed Jess's journey through the police Force amid all the exciting cases and crimes throwing myself into the midst of everything as it happens, who needs to be a fly on the wall, I was there, in my head anyway. An Eye For An Eye threw me straight back into it all, trying to work out who was guilty of what and who was planning what, the usual banter between the work colleagues always makes me chuckle, another exciting Jessica Daniel book for me with murder and suspense, twists and turns and banter thrown in too excellent I loved it and shall be buying it when it is released to add to my collection, Keep up the good work Kerry and thank you

Eye for an eye. From the first paragraph I knew Wilkinson’s plan to slow down his Daniel publication had paid off. Brilliantly written, layer upon layer is laid out. I trust wilkinson to lay it out, sort it out and finish with something that makes me desperate to have the next book in my hands. I don’t want to give any spoilers but there were many pointers that one lingering story line would not be resolved in this book but would hopefully rumble in this - actually maybe two threads. A self contained novel and a particular enjoyment was that the back story gets reminded but as a previous reader I wasn’t bored by the catch up bits that some authors handle more clumsy. Wilkinson has great humour, and I felt Jess, despite everything going on was allowed to be a witty character again.

I was lucky enough to receive a free copy of this book from the Author.

Absolutely loved the 12th iteration in the story of Jessica Daniel. It's amazing how much the character has evolved from 'Locked In', reading the synopsis of the first book at the end of this one. Her new boss, DCI Topper is an intriguing character, someone who is more like Jessica, and I can see their relationship forming for further books.

As always, I love how the story comes together as Jessica's brilliant mind and her colourful character gets the better of the bad guys, her colleagues and her friends.

A worthy addition to a great series.

I really just never get tired of Jessica Daniel. She is snarky, professionally rebellious, and the people she surrounds herself with make for a good time, even in the throes of a case. I also stay intrigued with her personal life and the developments in it, including some closure on her fiancé and the mystery of what happened to Bex.

This book is not one that would be easy to pick up if you have no background. It’s possible, but I’d definitely recommend picking up the rest in the series first. I love these books!

I Was sent this book free by the author.

It takes you through a journey with old friends and new characters. The story immerses you into areas of Manchester and makes you feel as though you are there witnessing the events as they unfold.
It was a fast paced storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat. Sub plots were intriguing and the main plot had depth and substance with twists and turns at every corner. I found the whole book thoroughly entertaining and a must read.
