Shy and curvy Jade Summers has almost lost hope she would ever get her happily-ever-after. After all, she was never lucky in love, so why would she be now? She came at the Alma Venus Agency for Mail-Order Brides because she thought shape-shifters made better husbands than human guys. Now, she isn’t sure anymore…
Dragon-shifter Kaden Grimmr needs a bride. And fast. He’s the Alpha of the Emerald Wing, and he believes it’s time to divide his father’s clan and take his dragons to a new place and a new future. The problem is that his father, Calder Grimmr, refuses to give him his blessing unless he gets himself a mail-order bride so he’d one day have heirs. Kaden has no choice. As much as he hates the idea of mail-order brides, he’ll have to make a compromise and find one.
He wants a marriage of convenience. She wants true love.
When Kaden messages her and tells her exactly what he needs, Jade wants to refuse him. But he’s so tall, hot and handsome that it’s very hard to say “no” to him. Maybe, if she takes this one risk, true love will be waiting for her at the end of the road.
Emerald Dragon is a full, standalone novella, with a happily-ever-after, and NO cliffhangers. Intended for readers 18+
Cara Wylde loves to write about strong, feisty women and their hot Alphas who will do anything to make them happy. Her books are filled with romance and just a dash of mystery, suspense, and that eerie atmosphere she fell in love with reading too many gothic novels. With a master's degree in Comparative Literature, she can't help but play with tropes and themes from various genres, trying to come up with fresh perspectives on the paranormal characters her readers love so much. Vampires, shape-shifters, demons, witches... Cara will always make sure they get their own twists.
When she's not writing, Cara is reading, planning her next story, or daydreaming. Her idea of pure heaven is a day filled with nothing but her laptop, a huge coffee pot, relaxing music, and a new, exciting project.
As with book 1 in this series I struggled to like the hero! I felt Kaden was quite judgemental towards Jade. She is clearly nothing like Andrea, even though she is her friend. He is emotionally distant and a bit of an idiot!
Jade has had a horrible love life so far and thought things were picking up with Kaden. But her self-esteem takes another blow at his treatment of her. I really hated his dismissive tone when she told him of her fears about his friend and his slimy attitude, even when he knows his own sister is uncomfortable around him (I want to know why! I have an idea and I'm hoping Sylvia will get to reveal all!!)
I'd rather the ending was a bit more detailed on Viktor, I feel he just skipped away with no punishment!! Hoping I'll love the next hero a bit more!!!
Voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
I'll be honest to say I had a hard time liking Kaden. It wasnt even because of his dislike for Andrea which was warranted. It was his attitude and his treatment of Jade. She's already self-conscious of herself and has a low self-esteem which he sorta knew at the beginning and still he avoided and ignored her. Treated her like crap. It was difficult to like him all that much. I liked Jade and I liked how much she came out of her shell a bit. Started to stand up for herself even with Kaden. I sorta felt sorry for Andrea but not really because what she did was kinda bad. I wasnt much of a fan of hers in book 1 either. There's always going to be characters we dont like. We dont know by the end if Kaden will ever come around and at least accept Andrea as his father's mate. Felt a little unfinished in regards to Viktor. I wanted a better ending for that guy but we dont always get what we want in books. Although I didnt enjoy Kaden's character I still enjoyed the book. I hope Sylvia gets a book because I'd like to see her happy too.
The second book in this series was good, but I wish the author had developed Kaden's character more. I never really got a sense of why he is the way is he. He grew up in a loving home. Yes he lost his mother, but not until he was very old (in dragon years). But he seems so cold and uncaring. His sister even tells him he doesn't care deeply about anything. He admits in all his years, he has never been in love, just has hook-ups. but Jade has been treated terribly by men. She needs someone who will treat her with care and love. But he doesn't even show up for their first meeting, nor the second one. I loved Jade. She has been dealt problems but she is optimistic, and wants to find someone to love and who will love her. She doesn't care about wealth and things. She wants a partner in life. I wish this book had showed a little more romance with the two of them. He took her for a ride on his dragon, but then their only other interaction seemed to be in the bedroom. No real talks, no walking together. Nothing. I feel the story moved too quickly. I needed to see these two interact to learn about each other.
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the second in the Alma Venus Mail Order Brides series and ends in an HEA. Dragon prince, Kaden, needs a bride to escape his father and rule on his own. He chooses the human, Jade. The only relationships Jade is used to are abusive, so she accepts Kaden's offer. Kaden comes across poorly in this story. He finds out that Jade is a friend of his step mother, whom he hates. Kaden treats Jade horribly, yet Jade accepts everything. She isn't used to being treated well, so Kaden seems normal to her. How is this portrayal of Jade uplifting to anyone? Once the HEA came, Kaden dug himself into a hole so deep I really disliked him.
>Jade is sexually harassed by Kaden's BFF, Viktor. When she tells Kaden, he yells, accuses her of being mistaken and runs off. He runs off a lot. Kaden really ruined what could have been a great story line. The author needed to turn Kaden around a lot more to make him worthy of Jade.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 3 stars.
Jade Summers has had bad experience with human men she wants love and happiness so she decides to go and apply to the Alma Venus Agency for Mail Order Brides and find this dragon Kaden Grimmr and he just wants baby and her to leave him alone to do his job of protecting his emerald dragons but once he sees her and things take there course lol well he falls in love with her and his dragon wants her first before he does talk about stubborn men lol love this book it was funny sexy and exciting read loved it so much page turner all the way. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Michelle
I received a free book and voluntarily chose to review this book. If you haven’t read any of the Alma Venus books, don’t worry. The author has put enough information in this book for you to understand the current climate of this world. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series. Each is a standalone. I loved the previous books and I was not disappointed in this book. My strong woman that I look for in most of my books is here, but she isn’t as strong as she could be. She gets stronger as the story unfolds. I saw that one reviewer didn’t like Kaden but I could see what was going on in his head. So I gave him a lot of slack to get his head working better.
Kaden wants to take his Wing of the Clan to Ireland, his father has just one little condition. He needs a bride. Jade has had a couple of bad relationships in the past and is hoping to get a new start, by becoming a Mail-Order shifter bride. Jade is pretty awesome, even though she has been through the ringer, she still wants to take a chance on finding love. Kaden is an over grown child, with an attitude problem. I love when his sister calls him on his crap. Someone sure needs to! Felt like Viktor got away with too much, he deserved to get what was coming to him. I really hope that Sylvia gets her own book at some point!
Jade decided to become a mail order bride for shifters, when all her relationships with human men have ended badly, so she enrolled at Alma Venus. Kaden Grimmr wants to move the Emerald wing to a new location, but his father won't allow him to do so unless he takes a bride. These characters are fascinating, sexy, and well written, the plot is exciting with surprising twists. Another fantastic read from the Alma Venus Mail Order Bride series, definitely a must read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Wow! This is the second story in a side series following the Alma Venus shifter brides stories. It's amazing. A jaded dragon must find a mate. He's been hurt by another brides devious and selfish actions. Can he move past the sting of that betrayal and find a mate of his own? This fantastic will keep you on your toes as Kaden ping-pongs between hot and cold with his bride. Can Jade be the bride he needs and move past her bad history of male interactions and embrace her new life? This story is so good! It's addictive and makes you want more and more!
I have been wanting to read something from this series for awhile and am glad I got to. But the story was either moving too fast or too slow and the main guy felt like a ridiculous child. No one really called him on it, they just kept telling her to have patience or don't worry. Well she should have worried or at the very least not left herself at his beck and call. She just seemed like she should have made him work a little harder at proving she was more than just a means to an end and he was mature enough to marry.
The hero is a jerk and treats the heroine badly for most of the book but manages to redeem himself towards the end, eventually. The book itself was a fairly easy read but not exactly something that is going to make it onto my keeper shelf. The problem with these insta-lust stories is there isn't really much foundation to the story so when we get to the end it is ultimately unsatisfying. On the plus side the hero hated his stepmother - the gold-digger Andrea - at least someone does! His sister and father seemed far too quick to forgive her for my liking.
2nd book in this series, just as well written as the 1st book. This is a new author to me and have found that she writes an interesting tale. Her stories flow evenly and consistent. This book blended the previous one in very well and just enough for you to know what went on previously. Another library keeper and am looking forward to the next one in the series. Highly recommend that you add to your library and read it. Great stories
Jade decided after dating losers to join the agency for a shifter marriage. Dragon-shifter Kaden has to chose a bride under his father's orders. He has an instant attraction to Jade and sends for her. Does he really want her? This couple is so frustrating at first until he finally wakes up to himself. A short well written story that stands alone but more fun if you read the first book.
This was a Fun read with some definite angst thrown in! So enjoyable!
Emerald Dragon was fun! The intro was eye opening at first but, I am glad things changed. Kaden was so unsure of himself! He soon learned that things aren't always as they seem. I am not telling you anything more! It's A Must Read! Voluntary review!
EMERALD DRAGON ALMA VENUS MAIL-ORDER BRIDES by Cara Wylde started & finished 7.13.17 Jade must be patient and understanding with Kaden in this erotic short story. 3.75 stars
I felt like the story was rushed, there was not enough meat to it. Jade is sweet and seems like she has been through a lot. Karen comes off as an arrogant s.o.b. who doesn't deserve someone like Jade. And Victor was a jerkface.
The world of Alma Venus continues to enchant in this latest installment. Everything would be perfect for Jade if only her new groom Karen would open up and lighten up.
Second book in series. Getting better. Well written, few editing errors. Characters better developed than first book. Plot still leaves something to be desired but overall better than first book.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Jade & Kaden's story very much. I love reading a happy ever after story it makes me feel better after a very hard day. Thank you for writing this story.
While I liked the storyline, Jade and her back story and having read the first book so I knew what had transpired I felt there was part of this book that was missing.
This is book two in the series but can be read as a stand alone. This book has a better cast of characters and enjoyed it much more then the first book.
Didn't want a mate but to get what he wants that's what he will get. Something you don't want but it hits you in the face. This is what this book is about
I loved this book. Each and every one of the Alma Venus books are unique and wonderful on their own. Kaden and Jade are wonderful characters. I would love to see Sylvia get her own HEA. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
The plan is to leave the family home and start anew somewhere else, of course there's also the nagging bitterness over the new step-mother. Dad has the last laugh though when he tells our hero he needs a bride before they can go. So two emotional wrecks find themselves instantly attracted to one another but unable to communicate.
Title: Emerald Dragon Alma Venus Mail-Order Brides Book 2 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Cara Wylde Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PRN #DragonShifter #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ ••••••••••••••••• This book is really good but if you did not read book one you wouldn't really know who the people are in book two. In ohau phenomenal Book Two is, I loved it. Jade Summers is a twenty-two year old human who is a mail-order bride at the Alma Venus Agency. She will be the bride of a dragon-shifter if she ever gets picked that is. Jade wants love, it seems like she won't ever get it. The offers that she has received just weren't for her and then she gets an offer to be a bride of convenience, what's wrong with her? Then how could she say no to his charm? She could tell in his texts that he probably always got his way, she knew she shouldn't but she was going to say yes. Kaden Grimmr is a Dragon Shifter, he is also Fyrstur of the Emerald Wing. He want to move his wing to Ireland but his father won't let him unless he has a bride. Problem is he doesn't want a bride, he doesn't trust any woman not after what happened to his father with Andrea his new stepmother was a thief but he didn't want to have a money grubbing woman as a bride. When he looks through the catalog he figures there's nobody for him there, then there she was. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
