When I watched the excellent cinematic trailer of this book a few months ago, I knew Keshav Aneel, the bestselling author of Promise Me a Million Times, had come out with another masterpiece.

The cover is gorgeous, enticing any potential reader, and along with the blurb, it sowed seeds of intrigue in my heart. I began reading with interest, and within a day of receipt, I finished it—the book is so well paced and captivating. When I put the book down beside my pillow after reading it, my eyes were wet and my heart was fluttering. It took me a while to rein in my emotions and calm myself.

Once again, this young author has done a phenomenal job. I must say the protagonist is one of the best characters I have ever encountered in the world of international fiction. Vishesh is extremely realistic and beautifully etched. He has some flaws and weaknesses (thus making him more real), but he is so adorable that he makes space for himself in your heart and compels you to root for him. Even the supporting characters—his parents, his girlfriend, and his friends—are well written, thus adding to the charm of the book. The emotional conflict of the protagonist with his loved ones and the struggles that he has to face while chasing his dreams is described so realistically that you can totally relate to it, especially if you belong to an Indian middle-class family.

Throughout the book, as is expected now from Keshav Aneel, wonderful motivational quotes come to greet you and teach you valuable life lessons. The language is lucid, simple, and thus perfect for a short book like this. The ending is also wonderful, and I'm sure that any mildly emotional person will be reduced to tears.

'The One from the Stars' is a memorable, inspirational, and emotional book, and I would recommend this to readers of all fiction. 4.75 stars from my side.

"You've got to be a beginner, before you become anything else."

That's what he was, a beginner to dream the impossible, and yet be determined to it. A soul who was ready to take off, in belief of his wings.

Vishesh is a dreamer, who wishes to be something which isn't under the white collar jobs of our society, and obviously something which isn't cliche isn't considered to be stable and settled for Indian parents.

Lost by his convictions to try some more, to be what he is and to live a bit more of himself, he fails, time and again, he continues to fail like never before and hence starts the struggle to meet up his parent's expectations. Struggling to live a dream of his own, he loses his parents, friends and the love of his life, only to kiss back this one undiagnosed disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

The One From The Stars penned down by Keshav Aneel is a book which will take you on a rollercoaster ride to identify your inner calling because in the end, that's what is important, that's what you're meant to do and that's how you're to be at peace and happy.

This book depicts that dreams do come true if you're determined to be on your own path, the path which is designed and to be defined by you, and such is the story of Vishesh and many more like him, who're born in a middle class families, but are one from the stars, so they could achieve the glory of the moon.

Personal Input - This book shared a lot in common with me, since as a non conventional dreamer myself, a lot has been shared between me and the protagonist. It's like you feel connected to the one who's defining his life to you in words. This book made me cry at instances which I cannot define right here, right now, but giving sleepless nights is something for which this author's work is known for. In one word, this is another supercalifragilisticexpialidocious work of Keshav Aneel.

The one from the stars: A wonderfully written emotion capturing tale by Keshav Aneel.

A truly soul touching tale of a middle-class family guy, about following his passion along with humiliation by own parents, his struggle with life and own mental health issues.

Even after getting this much he doesn't hurt people, make his own way of living far away from the world. Each word and phrases are written with so much of emotions that person like me can relate to it.

It's a great story of dedication, challenges, and failures. Honesty in the world of cheaters is conveyed very transparently. I can say it's a tale of so many of youths who are dealing like this or certain similar ways.

The book is so high five so I will also don't hesitate to give a high five rating to this book.

Book Rating: 5️⃣/5️⃣

"The cost of not following your heart is spending the rest of your life wishing you had " Keshav Aneel

The story is about the struggles of an aspiring author Vishesh narrated from the perspective of his friend.
In the journey of pursuing his passion vishesh face setbacks and in the meantime, he is diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

Is he achieve his dream?

I really enjoyed "The one from the stars " because it's commentary regarding toxic parenting , Mental illness and it's have relatable characters

The story would have been better me if the climax more appealing , I felt climax rushed for the sake of ending the novel

I especially appreciated the view of the author regarding mental health, and he sucsessfull In it. Overall, it's a feel good experience. Worth a read.

Well... Like most of the deceiving Indian author's books, this one had a really really interesting synopsis. (Should I say that was interested coz it resembled my very own life to an extent? Maybe)..
As it turns out, this book was not at all written well for my taste..
Plotline is medicore but the execution is very poorly done..

Writing is the biggest turn off of the year...
Some scenes had a potential to shine out bright if not for the cringy writing..

Also, the ending really really spoilt the book for me..

I enjoyed the book.I read the author's first book("Promise Me Million Times") but I liked "The One From The Stars" most. The story follows a boy called Vishesh who is following his dream to become a writer. But in his endeavour, his family does not support him.Instead, his parents discourage him to take this path. But he is so adamant about achieving his dream to become a writer, he does not pay heed to their discouraging comments.Because of this, his relation with his parents deteriorates. He feels that his parents do not understand him. They ridicule his dream of becoming the writer. In the meantime, he suffers from the OCD.Will he be able to become a writer? Will his parents finally understand their son?To find an answer to these questions, read the book.
Personally, I really liked the Vishesh's character. He is hell-bent to achieve his dreams.I really enjoyed his journey filled with struggles.

When I read the first page, I knew it that this book is for me. Wasting no time, I finished it in one single read. (ignoring the pain in my spine) And it was worth it. I could relate my own life with the main character of this book, Vishesh. His science and mathematics is less than average (so do mine), he is popular among his pals for his brilliance in English ( not maundering, but me too), he wants to become an author so he reads and writes (no doubt 😉) and so on. His life resembles so much to mine, except for one thing. He couldn't succeed in making his parents supportive. I can go on and on admiring this book. It's an easy read and I recommend this book to everyone who dreams of taking the 'ROAD NOT TAKEN'. The book is itself dedicated to the dreamers of middle class family who can't pursue their dreams due to lack of financial support. Author has packed alot of emotions in this gem of a book. I severely wanted to give 5 stars but couldn't as some things didn't happen the way I wanted them to. But that doesn't mean it's not worth a shot! Go and read it!!
Plus: page no. 82 was tormenting AF!!!

The Book has been written beautifully. It feels like we're connected and imagining situations happening in the book. It is Inspiring one. yes, the message to never give up on your dreams, your Passion has been beautifully given. The journey of Vishesh, how every middle-class boy goes through this pain of living up to their parent's expectations, sacrificing their dreams, their passion. Living life on terms and conditions that parents have set and not complaining to them.
How friendship never die though you're away from your friends, How Passion never fails, How much it costs to follow your heart, Running away never works, it's all about having faith in yourself. Marks don't define person's destiny but their work does. I read this book in one go and trust me I could feel how Vishesh was going through. A plot is designed beautifully with right words at right time. It had everything from Inspiring lines to beautiful poems, Love, friendship, faith, anger, and reunion. A complete package. A super amazing story that I would like to read again.
A must read book with a beautiful message of never giving up on your passion, on your dreams.

Truly Passion Rules us All, Always.

I have to acknowledge at the very beginning that this was a total roller coaster ride. It is easy to relate to Vishesh. We all know at least one person like him – a simple guy who just wants to live out his dream. Instead he is stuck trying to accomplish what his parents want. But when there is a will, there is a way and as Vishesh struggles in his journey, he never gives up his dream. Even when he had no one by his side. It is impossible not to like him.

Its an amazing book worth reading..
The cover is just awesome and beautiful love the cover and title is also attractive. The story is narrated by protagonist's friend Dhruv in a simple way and it is reliable. The story is beautifully penned down by the author and it has a strong social message. I cried while reading this book and it was totally a page turner. There were not many characters and story revolves around the protagonist Vishesh. There were three friends of Vishesh, his parents, sister, girlfriend and there were characters which have small role. I was like yar aisa kyu ho raha hai vishesh ke saath. Really enjoyed reading it totally loved it.

Actually, I expected more from it. I ordered the book when I saw it's Goodreads reviews & was amazed by the introduction at the back cover of the book - The story of a dreamer whose parents want him to join Govt services but he wants to be a writer. Struggling to keep his passion alive, rejected by his family & gf, but still he achieves his dreams.
Somewhat appealing, but what you find in the book is actually not that awesome
*Spoiler Alert*
A guy who is 25 something, stuck in a job which he doesn't want, earning money in a company where he finds the work unethical, a burden to his parents. For the 1st half of the book, you are just damn frustrated about his helplessness, but after the time when he leaves his family & life. I expected the protagonist to do odd jobs if he had to & gather the one lakh he wanted to publish his book, instead of that he has left everything & is wandering. That's not how a dreamer fights for his dreams! That isn't in any way inspirational. if it was not for his friends, his work would never have been published.

There are so many undeveloped ideas & unexplained additions to the story whose relevance to story doesn't make sense, those that the writer forgot to address - what happened to the Martyr's parents who were sold policy by Rahul & how did things go at the office after the documents were burnt? what happened to the girl who vishesh saved from committing suicide, what about the five people who's lives were saved in the car accident, what happened to the bride for whom he went to Kathmandu. Some basic questions - Why did people ignore his play in Kathmandu, if he was such a great artist? Why would he perform his play for 6 years in the forest? If it was not for Dhruv's Coincidence of visiting Kathmandu, he would have stayed in the forest forever.

The ending was so abrupt & quickly finished that I was quite unsatisfied with the progress of events. An inspiring story would be the one where in a writer fights everyone in the world to fulfill the dreams only he can see. Not the one wherein your protagonist is a helpless man with no knowledge of what to do next & the OCD, why the hell was it even there in the story, it doesn't make any sense. Dissatisfied!!!!

A beautifully written book by Mr. Keshav Aneel.

According to the Author himself, He is all about his dreams and a very emotional person at heart who loves travelling to peaceful places❤️

According to Keshav, this particular story is connected to every child who comes from a middle class family background.
This book stands for an unsaid or very less said emotion of every heart, that despite having all the potential, due to lack of money, has to willingly or unwillingly quit on dreams and take a safer path owing to parental pressure.

I personally believe, everyone can relate to this story. Every middle class family goes through certain situations wherein they have lack of money or sometimes lack of confidence in their children, a parent just wants their child to settle in a very nicely paying 9-5 job and not pursue their dreams because they can pay less.

From the point of view of the parents, they are correct in their manner and they think what they're doing for their children would lead to their better lives.

From the point of view of a child, he just wants happiness in life and pursue his dreams.

Right from the childhood we've been taught to dream. Time and again we are asked by our elders what is our dream??

All a child wants is internal happiness in doing what he is doing.
Just help then achieve their dreams and look how happy and smiling they will forever be❤️

This is exactly what you will feel after reading "THE ONE FROM THE STARS"❤️

This book showcases every emotion in such a beautiful way that I kept on reading it and stopped when the book finished❤️

A 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars❤️

I have been reading novels since I was 7 or 8 years old but not once in my lifetime have I cried while reading a book. Since lockdown started there was no buying new books, no going out, etc…

I wanted to read some good books but had to do with the ones I had already read. So, finally, when all the restrictions recently opened I ordered some books from Amazon.

About the Trailer of the Book

One of the books which I got was this book i.e. “The One from the Stars by Keshav Aneel”. Before reading the book, I saw its motion trailer on Youtube. The trailer itself had made me curious and impatient for the book. I had goosebumps when I saw the trailer so it was quite obvious that I was more than thrilled and excited about the book.

Even the opening of the book, where the author leaves the message to his readers, is so powerful that it gives you a preview of what lies ahead.

Storyline

This story of Vishesh is exactly how every middle-class child goes through this pain of living up to their parent's and society’s expectations, sacrificing their dreams, their passion. Living life on terms and conditions that parents have set and not complaining to them.

The central character, Vishesh, is perfectly crafted and holds the entire soul of the book. Narration is what carries this book to the next level. The language in its simple words says a lot of heavy things.

The Best Part

For me, there wasn’t a moment where I couldn’t see it happening or relating to real-life or keep my eyes dry. The story of Vishesh is practically everybody’s story. The way the author intensifies and evokes such raw emotions using his characters just absorb you more into it.

The best part about the book is that it is not tied to any specific audience. Each character and each instance of the book will resonate with everyone regardless of their age or background. It's one of those rare books that a child, teenager and parents can all read with the same intensity and still take back a lot of insight and perspective of one’s life.

Who Should Read This Book?

You should pick the book if ever you had to give up on your dreams because you had a society to please. You have to pick this book if you love a good story about living life and facing one’s fears. You have to pick this book if you are looking for a book that can jostle you, harass and emotionally drain you yet leave you smiling. Be prepared because the book can be really intense. In short, you will never be able to close this book without getting your heart touched emotionally.

In fact, I recommend that every child and parent should read this book. Perhaps a lot can be understood and changed and this book can be a good source for that.

Message

This book perfectly shows how friendships never die though you're away from your friends, how Passion never fails, how much it costs to follow your heart, running away never works, it's all about having faith in yourself and that marks don't define a person's destiny but their work does.
It gives a beautiful message of never giving up on your passion or your dreams.

I'm not going to say anymore as I may start giving spoilers, but yes, this book is amazing.

Please read this book, not because it deserves to be read but because you deserve it!

P.s:

If you want this book, you can get it from amazon, it costs = ₹174
If you want to see the trailer of this book, it is available on Youtube on the author(Keshav Aneel)’s Youtube channel.

"Making a judgement on basis of a report card, with exact same parameters for all, when all are visibly different, is stupid"

Starting from the cover its beautiful and eye catchy. The title "The One From The Stars" must say after reading the book there can be no better title than this. The one from the stars is beautiful novel with unique plot and amazing story line. Characterization was perfect and readers can connect to the story. The book is an inspiration to help you follow your own path. Liked every bit of the book. Truly inspiring. The language of the book is simple which will make it easy to read for the readers. The every scene is so well written than you can actually get images of them in your mind.
This is a story of  main protagonist Vishesh Raghav and his friends and parents. He was born to a middle-class family. He has very little chance of living out his unconventional dream. Being influenced and driven by his family to pursue his chances of a government job, Vishesh tries to live up to their dreams. But it is not easy for him and his support system slowly breaks down. Furthermore, he is diagnosed with OCD. With every turning page the curiosity to read further keeps on increasing. For me the excitement comes at peak when Vishesh Raghav leaves his parents’ home after dropping e-mail to his friends. The dialogue deliveries are perfect and are full of emotions and inspirations. With every turning page the curiosity to read further keeps on increasing. Its a combination of friendship, emotions, dreams, passion and life. Its a inspirational novel for youngsters.

"You are the best solution to all your problems...

Have faith, have confidence in yourself, and it'll be done...

It's all that you need..."

A highly recommended book to be read by each child that is chasing his/her dreams in the most challenging era. A must read also for all the parents who believe that forcing something on a child just for the sake of society and worst past experience can yield no good to the family and their lives.

Boring N Honestly Frustrated

Keshav's novel sparked interest in me because I have already read one book by him 'Promise me a Million times' and expected this to be good but seems like the author has pulled only one moral for all his books. In every book of his is about hope and dream with romance like a grated chocolate on a cake. I personally didn't like the story at all, was expecting something new. The author is really amateur in writing needs to upgrade his skills.
Coming to the story part it's about a vivid dreamer and who is passionate towards his dreams.

The story is about Vishesh a dreamer who believes in following his dreams but lacks motivation as he is rejected by his parents and girlfriend but still he achieves his dreams. There are many areas in reading which are not explained and doesn't make any sense, was confused as to why those lines or short story was added. Some of them are what happened to bride for whom he went to khathmandu? What happened to those five people who were saved in the car accident? Who performs in forest ? Had dhruv not come or the coincidence didnt happened he would had stayed in forest forever. This is not the way any dreamer behaves. I am unsatisfied with the progress of events. I don't even know how all the other readers are rating this 5 and calling it an inspiring story.

Any inspiring story would be like the protagonist struggling and fights for what he/she wants despite being thorns on their path. In this any such thing is not shown. The story for me was baseless in many pages I read.

I have to DNF this cause of many reasons. I feel it was an effortless book; from the cover to the writing. I really thought when I was scrolling through Amazon for my book shopping I bought an amazing book, same as most readers I was deceived with the synopsis and the good reviews.
Unfortunately I could not be more wrong. I struggled after the prologue. The writing was so raw. At first I thought oh no not another Chetan Bhagat( well Chetan Bhagat wrote better). I felt at one point it was so mentally unhealthy cause I am 25 years old and the character is 25 years old, I come from an Indian Family and so does the character, we come from a middle class family as well. Coming from an Indian family you got be either a doctor, lawyer, engineer or work with the government. This guy’s dream is to be a writer and nothing else. The insults his got from his family, his girlfriend left him, with all this he just swallows it up resulting in him diagnosed with OCD. Despite all this his friends did advice him as to getting a secured job and you can still pursue your dream, he was still adamant and only wants to be an author. I stopped at page 40 and told myself enough it’s mentally unhealthy.

What a book to start new year 2020.
The book has everything, love, friendship, family, heartbreak, spirituality, etc etc.
I wanted vishesh to find a partner (But again its an expectation from society!..) Many instances you feel like slapping visheshs parents.
Get to know OCD disorder , though heard f it before never knew could affect the person to the extent explained in the book.
I liked few instances when dhruv requests vishesh to comeback and allow his father to die peacefully,
or when vishesh begs his mother to follow his passion for one last time and when visheshs song is sung by a band in IGT and his books getting published.

i am definitely a big fan of the author Keshav Aneel, he is awesome.

THE ONE FROM THE STARS BY KESHAV ANEEL
Dhruv is the father of Somaya who is waiting for results of class XII. Dhruv explain about his four friends mainly about the Vishesh Raghav. He has dream to become a good author \ writer. But their parents never support him.
Without knowing to their parents, he used to write in his dairy and laptop. Due to the pressure from parents and the work he got some mental disorder problems. He leaves his house to chase his dream.
Does his writing gets published?
How does his parents felt when their son had left the house?
How did struggle outside after leaving the house to chase the dream?
Did he come back to see his parents and his friends?

Read the book to know more.

This book is the worst, the author has no skills at all. I was deceived by all the good reviews with 5 star rating on good reads and Amazon. The story, the way it is narrated, is cringy. The dialogs could have been a lot better, there were grammatical errors, no one would have proofread the book I guess. The story is mediocre and I felt the author Drags the story even though it is a short story of 151 pages. I brought the book because there were a few lines in the book that were really motivating, and the synopsis felt good. But the book is mediocre at best don't buy this.

I like the way the author tries to make his readers emotional through his writing style. But I think at some places in the story, the plot should have been a bit more detailed, not just things changing from one situation to the other all of a sudden.

I'd recommend this book to others, for it truly does the job of soaking the reader inside the story and it would be very hard for you not to finish the story in a single sitting.

Kudos to the author! :)

A good read thou remotely anything about romance

It's good for a read thou what I personally think is it's title makes an image of a romantic book thou which even it remotely is not. What I loved most about it was the writing style and the author didn't did that moving around the bush part and kept really short.
I am not being a critique but I didn't felt anything inspiring in the story neither it is a romantic story still I don't know how is it in the romance category.

although i feel writer ended it in rush. ending could be much more better.
it's an inspirational novel, and writer succeeded to show what he believed, no doubt. But not as expected. Nothing new, we have heard all these inspirational quotes already but in different way.
story was interesting, though.

This is a beautiful book that portrays a story of young boy, who had dreams and passion. Lack of family support to pursue his dream, makes him depressed and lost. Read the book to know how he came out of it.
The book is a potential plot to convert to a movie.
