Harry's one of Hollywood's biggest actors, has made a name for himself in prestigious films and lives the life of a superstar. There's just one thing missing to make it picture-perfect, but the one Harry's in love with is completely out of reach for him. Enter Louis, one of Hollywood's biggest actors himself, who just came out of the closet and taps new genres in the industry. When Louis sacks the role Harry auditioned for in Scorsese's next big film, their irrational feud starts. Who could have guessed it would get even worse when for promo season, their teams decide to present them as a couple for publicity?
In short, Harry's in love with someone and doesn't care about dating anyone else, Louis never felt home in L.A., Liam writes love songs for someone he shouldn't write love songs to, and Niall makes everything better with good food.
Loved this one. The character development is the best, really good pace, funny, had parts that made me want to scream bc fluff. Would definitely want to read again. Louis and Harry are actors and they have to fake date, Harry's in love with Luke but slowly starts liking Louis. The sexual tension is the best thing ever. Also Louis is hilarious, super funny and relatable. Honestly just really cute scenes and the best romantic/fluff/smut. Not best communication but that just adds to the angst. Not too much angst though. Hate each other, fake date, physical attraction, well thought out story I think it's very symbolic. Bit educational. Really good overall. It's a bit addictive and a really interesting read. Seeing their relationship develop is always nice. It's not too long and a good story overall.
Summary for my own memory: **SPOILER WARNING** Okay so from my reread I remember a bit. Harry and Louis went after the same acting job but Louis got it instead and so that reinforces their prior hate for each other. Harry ends up getting a smaller role in the same movie. All the while, Harry is in love with another actor, Luke. Louis has had trouble coming out with his label but after finally being able to do so even though his management uses it as a career move), he is asked to date Harry for PR for promotion for their new movie together. They fake date while Harry pines over Luke who just split with his boyfriend Chris. We find out that Harry has been in a series of PR relationships because he's been trying to keep himself open for Luke and the minute Luke is finally available, Harry's forced to finish his contract with Louis. They slowly start to get along, know each other and fall for each other. It's enemies to friends with benefits to friends to lovers. Louis is a virgin at first but him and Harry sleep together and that becomes a problem later as Harry feels betrayed for not having known before it happened. There's a jealousy trope and pining and fighting against feelings and all the good stuff. They end up falling in love and then the PR stunt is over. They don't see each other for a while. Louis goes to see Harry because he can't help his feelings and he finds out that Harry went to go see Luke. They fix the miscommunication and it works out. It's a happy ending.
i will never forgive this world for framing fanfic’s reputation as something shameful. i love everything about the damaging angst i feel whenever i read this. #blueandgreen4eva
