Colorful brush pen and Photoshop illustrations accompany a charming story about the bond between a baby dinosaur and its father. In timeless fashion, the two play Hide and Seek, and Babysaurus just cannot find his father. As he checks in with other prehistoric animals, none of whom has seen the large dinosaur, he describes his father with pride, making note of his physical attributes, including a long neck, long legs, and enormous size. Clearly, those other dinosaurs have nothing on his father, and when the father has been found, it's time for Babysaurus to hide. This picture book provides some basic information about various types of creatures alive several eons ago while also reassuring young readers that the little one's father is always close by.

Babysaurus plays hide and seek with his Papa. When he cannot find him, Babysaurus asks other dinosaurs he meets for help, finally discovering Papa was right there after all!

This book will be perfect to use with toddlers who are just learning about dinosaurs. Herbivores and carnivores exist peacefully side by side in this tale. Lomp has chosen shortened names for each dinosaur that Babysaurus encounters (Stego, Anky, Mosa, Velo, and Edmont), making it a breeze to read aloud. Eagle-eyed readers will see Papa at various times in the black background, making this a into a seek and find book after the story is read.

Picture book. Babysaurus and Papasaurus play hide and seek. Papasaurus hides, and Babysaurus asks the other dinosaur kids if they have seen him. The other dinos are all named in an abbreviated form of their actual name (Anky, Edmont, Velo, etc) which could be seen as cute or annoying depending on your personality-- I didn't mind it but it drove my husband nuts. At last Babysaurus finds his Papa. I like the style of the illustrations- the dinos are brightly colored on a background done in shades of black and brown. A simple enough story that could be a gateway to longer or more advanced dinosaur stories or non-fiction if the child is interested.

This is a little reminiscent of Are You My Mother? as Babysaurus searches for Papasaurus in a game of Hide and Seek through the world of dinosaurs. Very simple, digital illustration. Another cute "daddy plays with baby and will always be there for you" kind of story.

The black backgrounds Are wonderfully juxtaposed with the bright, vivid and emotive drawings of dinosaurs. The story is mostly just a description of what papasaurus looks like and can do, but it’s very cute and full of joy.

A game of hide-and-seek between father and son Brachiosaurus. The story displays a positive father and son relationship and introduces young readers to some basic attributes of various dinosaurs. I’m becoming a fan of Lomp’s books.

Cute way to introduce different types of dinosaurs to very young readers. Similar feel to "Are You My Mother," which is sweet. I do wish there was a page at the end that shows the dinosaurs with their real names included instead of the nicknames used int he text.

Almost exactly the same as the Mamasaurus book. My baby loves both so I'd say they're both 5 star for their intended audience.

Cute pictures. A dino version of Are You My Mother, but with a father. Cute to see the different ways they named the various dinosaurs. Anky. Velo. Ha ha. But nothing amazingly brilliant.

3/10/18 Daddy read this to SS with SD present. SD picked out Papasaurus in the distance on one of the pages--and I had searched each one to see if he was somewhere! Good eyes, SD. She liked the book. SS is pretty mellow on some books, but he sits very well for them and he pays attention. So I'm taking that as an enjoyment.

9/26/18 Used as opener for Favorite Things theme. Kids guessed it was because I liked dinosaurs. It's really because I like a dad who plays with his kids--oh! I'm married to one. :-) Kids in ST seemed to like it.

This book was adorable! I LOVED the artwork! The dinos are in brilliant colors and the background is all dark grays and black. This makes the dinos really pop! Plus they are ridiculously adorable!! The story was cute as well. I would recommend it to anyone who has a little girl or boy who loves cute dinos and bright colors.

Babysaurus plays hide and seek with Papasaurus. Papa hides so well that Babysaurus has to ask the other dinosaurs, "Have you seen my Papasaurus?" Various descriptions follow as Babysaurus describes how his papa is different from the other dinosaurs' papas.
A cute book that will appeal to dinosaur enthusiasts but is also simple enough for younger storytime audiences. I'll definitely try it with the preK group and maybe even the toddlers.

Love the vivdly colored baby dinosaurs against the black-of-night background. That alone conjures scary feeling of being left alone. As Babysaurus seeks his hiding papa, he finds Stego, Anky, Mosa, Velo, and Edmont. But none of them have seen Papasaurus. Finally, Babysaurus finds who he's looking for and it's time to reverse the Hide & Seek.

Babysaurus and Papasaurus play hide and seek in this celebration of actively involved fathers.

It is a refreshing change of pace to see a father as competent parent as well as the primary caregiver. Read this with your little one to counteract the clueless father trope ingrained in popular culture.

It's time for hide and see with daddy dinosaur and baby dinosaur. But where does a a giant papasurus hide, and how does baby saurus find him? Learn about a few other species of dinosaurs along the way, although it helps to be familiar with them, or their names won't really make sense. An enjoyable read for all the babysaurus' out there.

Dinosaurs! One of children's most highly requested subjects when they come into the library. This is a GREAT book. The illustrations and the story are quite engaging for Daddy/Grandpa bedtime story time with the tit bougres and tit filles.

Papa hides and son goes looking for him, encountering other dinosaurs. Doing rough brushstroke outlines combined with a black background was a poor choice. It makes the edges of the characters weirdly uneven.

Crazy cute illustrations, but I wanted more from the ending. Was also hoping for some non-fiction info in the back about each dinosaur. Now I need to read Mamasaurus...
