Secret Stories of Disneyland: Trivia Notes, Quotes, and Anecdotes

Rate this book
Disneyland has a lot to hide. Well, that sounds nefarious, so how about, Disneyland has a lot for you to discover. And I don't mean wait times and ride descriptions. I mean the deep, rich, hidden legacy of the park. Its real secrets. No one knows Disney history better than Disney historian Jim Korkis. In this book, the latest in his best-selling "Secret Stories" series, he unearths still more theme park gold and presents it in bite-sized stories that you can enjoy while waiting in line, sitting in a monorail, or whenever you have a few moments to fill with fresh Disney knowledge. With over 90 "mini chapters", organized by theme park "land", plus a special section devoted to some of the attractions that exist beyond the berm, you're sure to discover new lore about the happiest place on earth.

Always fun

It's always fun to read about Disney. There's nothing particularly surprising in this book, but it's a pleasant read. My only nit to pick is that the writing is somewhat inelegant.

Jim Korkis knows his stuff about Disneyland. He never fails his readers in what he writes about. "Secret Stories of Disneyland" is no exception. It is a book I will keep close by on my shelf of books i always refer to.

There are two ways to attempt reading this book. First, the traditional method of reading from the first page to the last. The second is to utilize the book as sort of a travel guide of each particular land at Disneyland. If you only have time to visit one particular land one day, and you have chosen Tomorrowland; read through that section and jot down places and things you want to see.

As with most Theme Park Press books, this one is just under two hundred pages. Just the right size to stick in your backpack for a day at the Magic Kingdom.

Can't wait to read Korkis' latest tome- More Secret Stories of Disneyland: More Trivia Notes, Quotes, and Anecdotes."

Interesting and Fast

The only downside of this book is that it makes you want to visit the very expensive Disneyland again. There’s a lot of interesting information the the average person would never know.

Got this for my kids before a trip this summer. More history than trivia, but still interesting.
