Rule #1: Always be armed and alert when you're on duty.
Rule #2: Treat everyone and everything with suspicion.
Rule #3: Be unobtrusive.
and Rule #4: Do not fuck the client.

It's taken Lena years to shed her wild child image and be taken seriously by her family. With three older brothers and a father who thinks she's porcelain, she's used to having to prove herself.

At twenty-five, she is the youngest bodyguard on her father's security team. Well, she's never actually been assigned to a client but that doesn't mean she's incapable. She's a crass thrill-seeker, an adrenaline junkie and goddammit, she just wants to shoot someone - which is why she almost rejects the unexciting assignment to protect artist, Reed Lancaster.

Almost.

Too bad for her that her father doesn't trust her with any actual work. So she'll just have to prove him - and her brothers - wrong and look after Reed as if he were the freaking President. But first, she actually has to find the guy...

Reed.. Reed..virgin REED!!
I stopped counting how many times I reread this book a long time ago. I literally dont have words to describe this book.
There is no way you wont like a romance between sexually experienced-sassy-bold bodyguard heroine and awkard-shy-naive-virgin artist hero. Enter some funny secondary characters, action and truck load of steam.
Yes I’m drooling.
A must read.

I have never wanted to be an editor so bad in all my days. This book has so much potential! She writes this damaged virgin hero so, so well. I love it and I love him. I love that I was able to put this on my “busted touching himself” shelf! And this is a great premise for a story… damaged, shy, stuttering virgin hero and petite, outspoken, feminist bodyguard. Protecting him from a deranged killer.
His back story is well thought out. So is her’s and how she ended up with this gig.

So, so much to love about this.

But some scenes, especially in the early chapters are rushed. She observes him in public being shy and “realizes” he is a virgin. Hey man, some people just don’t like to be the center of attention. You can’t make the virgin leap from that,
Also, he goes from refusing to talk to her, to monosyllabic responses to this:
His head jerked up. “Gee, thanks,” he snarled. “What gave i away? The way I stutter my ass off whenever I’m less than two feet away from you? Or the way I jerked off last night because you wore a fúcking turtleneck and when I look at you for even a nanosecond, it’s all I can do not to come in my pants?”

That is quite a mouthful of deep reveals from someone who has not built up any relationship yet.

I know Lena is a tough as nails chick who speaks her mind but she is not remotely professional and comes on super strong to this hermit.

I love, love this story. I just wish I could advise this author. She can take her time, fill in the gaps. Expand this to a full novel. (Figure out his stutter… it seems to come and go.).
She has enough here to work with that it could become an amazing read that I would buy on Amazon.
(That reminds me, I had to get the Radish app to be able to read this book. It was a pain in the ass, but worth it!)

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 3/5
Innocence in losing it: 3/5
Build up to losing it: 5/5
Hotness of losing it: 5/5
Busted touching himself: yes!

Note to self: I don’t know why this was on my “to read” shelf. The hero is a shy virgin, which is cool, but the heroine isn’t and I hate that combo. If she has spread her legs for another man to crawl between, to grunt and heave and slime all over her, if the memory of her first time will always belong to another man, I have ZERO fucking interest in that shit. Hard pass.

Again! A must read and a totally amazing erotic novel that you just need to re-read until you can start quoting it. This one had me laughing, crying at the end and whatnot. Kimber Lee is truly best at writing erotica. The steamy scenes are on point, as always and I cant help but fall in love with Reed's character. Oh what a beautifully innocent but totally sexy beast he is! Oh God, I can never get enough of these books.

The story just touched some special cords in my heart....

The way the story develops, flinging in Lena and Reed at the perfect moment. It is something to behold. Well developed plot and amazing characters that you can easily connect to. Some parts of the story feel surreal and you literally get immersed in those parts. The sex scenes are truly actually "love-making" scenes. An intense depth in the way they have been portrayed takes you into the story, as if you yourself are a part of it. It was hot and sizzling and amazing.....

Despite the little minx that Lena is, I loved Reed more. Smart, suave and caring, he almost makes you wish for a boyfriend like him ;). Someone who can feed you soup when you are sick and break down his own house to give you a punch of thrill and excitement. All in all, if you are into romance, you'll love this book. Beautifully written and a new story. Quite different from the clichéd stories of the romance genre.

For a "fresh breath" change, it is the heroine leading the plot, the romance and guiding the guy about the ways of life. Yet, the guy morphs, slowly and steadily, into this hot, sexy and confident person who can charm the world with his persona. I picked up the book for this kind of romance....and I was delighted with it.

I've been looking for something very similar to this ever since I read The Education of Sebastian. It's so refreshing to read about a hero who's a virgin while the heroine is experienced and showing him the ropes. Just a heads up for people who want to read this book, you have to download an app called Radish to read the entire thing and you have to wait an hour for each chapter to be released but it supports the author!

I really loved Reed as a character although Lena was a bit frustrating at times (but I understand why because of her misogynistic family). Reed was an absolutely sweetheart who was trying to find his way in the world and trying to make his brother happy. He was so pure!

I'm definitely going to be rereading this book a lot!
