While raised in a military lifestyle, adversity and the will to adjust became a normal for this Author. During this time of youth, she developed a heart of adventure and a driving force to know more about the things that enticed her vivid imagination.

Author Tosh Baker was inspired to write her first novel: Stranger Within, in the wintry months of 2012-2013. Seven years and five novels later, she decided it was time to share this one with the public.
Late 2012, Tosh had received a call from her ex-husband Dallas−−he was distraught, as he shared the disheartening news, of his recently discovered terminal illness: “I have been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. The doctor said I have about six months to live. Do you mind seeing me through this?” He asked.
Tosh and Dallas had been close friends through their marriage of twenty-three years and remained close friends even after their divorce. They had raised a daughter together and despite their differences, the pair made their situation work for them.
Tosh opened up her home to Dallas that day and invited him to spend his last days, in the comfort of family, who loved him.
Dallas enjoyed crime shows, filled with suspense and thrills. While he was restricted to the confinements of his hospital bed, Tosh spent the last three months of his life, caring for him through a hospice program−−twenty-four hours a day.
When her cherished friend had become incapacitated and bedridden, Dallas had asked Tosh to tell him a story and she recalled his exact words, as he asked, with a childlike desire: “Tosh, make up a story and tell it to me−−something like a Criminal Minds sort of thing. I just want to hear you talk.”
Tosh thought about it and knew it would be therapeutic for both of them and considered their restricted confinement. They lived miles out in the secluded country and had been dealing with a blistery winter in the state of Illinois. They both knew that keeping their minds busy during this time was a must, as they faced this certain isolation together.
She had hoped it would give them something else to think about, other than the inevitable outcome, of his diagnosis. After setting a rear view mirror up at her desk, she positioned Dallas behind her, propped up in bed.
There and then, Tosh began writing her very first novel and reading each page aloud, to her beautiful friend. She remembers Dallas hanging onto each word and craving page after page.
A month after the story had ended, Dallas moved on from this life and into another journey. He will be forever missed, by those who loved him.
I can only hope you enjoy the suspense filled tale, as much as he did.

If you love insta-luv stories, this book could be for you. I'm all for intra-attraction, I know romances move fast in fiction, and u-hauling is a real thing. But this book took all that to a completely new level. As in second meeting (which was on a professional level, no less) these two are smitten. Shortly after, declaring their love, the swapping rings.

I was excited to read about a more mature couple (these two are reportedly in their 40s) but neither acted that way, and constantly being referred to as 'the girls' made them come across as much younger. (The girls sported a look of innocence...The girls both snickered...The girls talked about the days events...)

I don't consider myself a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but was the poop talk really necessary?
And I thought our driver was about to shit himself. I about died when he blasted that stinking far, acting like we didn't hear him or even smell it.

That little boy probably farted and she wanted to kick his ass.

Madison opened the door to find Kat in a heated conversation over a pile of shit.
I gingerly picked up Kat's shoe...I cleaned it off....
Then, snickering to herself, she thought, I better not let her smell it.

As if all that wasn't enough, these two 'mature' girls women have a fat old time making fun of Jehovah Witnesses. I avoid religion like the plague. I don't like being preached to, but to each their own, so I found the JW bashing really distasteful.

Oh, so why the stars? If you weed out the shit (pun intended) the author has huge potential.

All about true love.

In the majority of the love stories it takes time to find each other. In this story the spark jumps over very quickly. You see the relationship develop into a strong connection. The only bad thing is that Kat is still in the closet for the outside world. But true love can overcome any roadblocks on your path. Or not? This book was fun to read.

This was an enjoyable story about love at first sight and coming out. It had a couple of twists that made it even more interesting. They fell for each other super fast but then you got to see their love grow throughout the book. I very much enjoyed it. It was my first book by this author but it won't be my last.

The characters in this story are very sweet and believable. They are not afraid to be themselves with each other. Sometimes you need to take a risk for love. I liked the narrator and the fact that they didn’t edit out any mistakes. It was like the characters were really talking.

I recieved this book free from the author for an honest review. I had an incredibly hard time finishing this book. I never really got attached to the characters, and I really wanted to. I can usually finish a short book like this in one day, but I kept stopping the story for boredom.

Tosh did a great job of creating a work that allows two women from vastly different social places to develop an authentic relationship. One of the nice things about this story is the age of the characters. So many lesbian novels currently seem to be about younger women. The personalities of the characters are believable and engaging. I enjoy Tosh's writing style and Hilarie did an excellent job of narrating. She was able to help the characters really come to life. I will continue to read the adventures that Tosh creates.

Just missed it

I wasn't really prepared for this book. I have never read this author before and was hesitant because of it. After seeing a review and post thinking a tattoo artist and DA would be a fun hot combo to read I gaveit a go.
Point being I wish i had Ku to have read it. They rushed in happend to find the special someone and both "knew" it after first meeting within first couple chapters

Tosh Baker’s novel, In the Eye of the Beholder: Only You, is a love story with a very satisfying ending. The reader will love the characters since they are like everyday people fighting for love, and acceptance. Madison a tattoo artist, and Katherine a successful DA, are different in every aspect yet when they meet their differences are forgotten. The secondary characters are charming and colorful as well. Overall, a wonderful love story that will take you to a journey of two people who meet and learn to love each other. If you want to escape for few hours or days pick this novel up and immerse into a world full of possibilities.

I really tried, honest

I got a little more than half way through this book but had to call it quits. Where was the editor? I liked the characters, but the writing left a lot to be desired. The author had these characters " giggling" way to often, annoying, but what made me slam the lid shut on this one was the use of the word "supposable" instead of supposed to..I wish the author good luck on any future books, just pay for an editor. I got this book via kindle unlimited, so....
