There were a few mildly helpful suggestions, but most of the book contains obvious "solutions" that mostly boil down to "just stop procrastinating, work on things a little bit at a time, and make progress." Also, the wiring style was irritating; sounded like a high schooler trying to up the word count to fluff up an essay to a required length, plus the "humor" wasn't funny or endearing, just trite and cutesy.
Some people are procrastinators and other people just procrastinate certain tasks or responsibilities in life. This book explores different causes of procrastination and many proven ways to help deal with and stop procrastinating. I enjoyed the inspiring quotes throughout the book. The lighthearted way the author wrote from personal experience made the book very real and enjoyable. Many people can benefit from reading this book; it is an ideal book to give to new managers to help them succeed.
I tried to read this book, but the onslaught of platitudes and attempts at connecting with the reader via cringy humour made it impossible (“Millennials, am I right?? Hahaha.”). I recommend reading The 5 Second Rule if you’re looking for an actionable way out of a procrastination loop. It’s twice as long, but the author respects your time enough to keep the content focused on her method.
A quick read with a lot of great points on what procrastination is and why we do it. Also, included some decent strategies to counteract procrastinator tendencies.
Gave realistic approaches to combat procrastination and also dove into the psychological aspect a bit. Some great tips and tricks for different kind of procrastinators.
I really enjoyed this book and know some of the tools and ideas will help as I have already used some of them in the past. It's by no means a quick fix, it just gives you some tools to help us function. I did procrastinate about actually implementing any of the tools and I have only used one so far, it helps though I tend to have an issue sticking to these new routines so we shall see how it goes.
