The stakes are high, time is running short, and the path to freeing Diya is fraught with conflict and danger. Now, more than ever, Malina will need the support and expertise of her allies: Ajitah's quiet strength, Loki and Drake's magical expertise, Aaron's support, and Carmella's compassion.

But most of all she'll need Garuda--her anchor in the storm.

With her friends by her side anything seems possible. All they need is time. But fate can be a cruel mistress, and what we need isn't always what we get. A war is on the horizon, and Malina will learn that when it comes to war, one loss is never all you're given. And in order to win, she'll have to play dirty...

A much better book than the previous ones! I enjoyed it quite a bit and am pleased that it wrapped-up that well:):):) Yes, there were a bit of teenage moments and I think that young adults are the best target group for the series, but I think all could have a pleasant summer afternoon on the beach lazing around and reading it:) However, I am on vacation and I am on hiatus from writing reviews this month, so I am going to go lazy around a bit more - it is a beautiful day!!!

I was so excited when I started reading this trilogy, but as I progressed further into the story, my excitement dimmed a little bit. There wasn't anything wrong with the story, I just didn't really feel it. There was so much happening at once - alternate universes, doppelgangers, gods, demons, people with amnesia, people dying and people being born. I think that if you want to put all of this in one book, that book should have at least 300+ pages.

And I'm sorry, but when I read this line:
"The seal had no effect on your primal instincts."
"Then what did?"
"Love."
I couldn't help rolling my eyes. From the fairytales to Harry Potter, answer is obviously always "love". I'm sorry, but I find it to be quite a cliche.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this trilogy and I don't regret I started reading the story. It undoubtedly had interesting story and characters. It's just that at times, it felt rushed.

Buddy reading the final installment of this series with the wonderful weekly Wednesday UF group over at BB&B.

I have to say I enjoyed the last installment in this series a lot more than the previous one. It probably helped that the whole love triangle nonsense from before was basically sorted in the previous book, although the romance was still a bit of a slow burn but everything ended the way I wanted to, so that made me very happy ;-)

Also the pace of this book was a lot better and the plot very captivating. With time running out for Malina and her friends to free her mother and stop the Daughter of Chaos from starting a war and ending the world as they know it, this book was quite action-packed and gripping.

This was definitely an interesting and enjoyable UF series.

Overall this was a fun series that stepped outside the normal UF box of vampires and werewolves…oh my. It chose more Indian and eastern culture lore to pull from and the main character is a Hell Hound/Naga half breed. You don’t see that every day. The possible love interests are just as strange and different; neither are a vampire or werewolf just to keep with the change of pace.

The only down side to this series other than the love triangle (which just isn’t my thing) was that since all three books are shorter in length there isn’t a ton of time for character development. Everything is usually go go go. So at least there is a lot of action happening.

Malina finally has figured out who she wants and now she just has to save the world to be able to keep him. I enjoyed most of this story. The fight to keep the hell portal closed. The team up against the mean supernaturals by the good supernaturals. I even enjoyed some of the multiverse stuff that was included even if it made my brain hurt sometimes. The ending was a bit rushed…boom boom boom and tada done. But overall it was a pretty interesting and diverse story.

The romance left a smidge to be desired since I really didn’t want to deal with the love triangle anymore and even though Malina made her choice in the last book it still dragged out a bit in this one. There is also a moment at the end where Melina was reluctant to let the man she knew she didn’t love go. It was selfish and really hit me wrong for some reason.

There was one hot sex scene finally and then another sex scene thrown in, in the worst place ever that made me scratch my head but other than that I like the budding relationship between Melina and the man she chose.

I’m glad I read it but I think the spin off was possible a little more developed story wise. I’ll possibly check out another series by this author at some point.

Not impressed with this last book, I wasn't invested in the story or the characters and the epilogue was useless

From the incredibly creative minds of Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy, comes a unique, and intricately woven, paranormal story involving Hindu gods and their interaction with mortals and supernaturals. It’s a fast paced read, but with plenty of twists and turns in the plot to keep you intrigued and reading well past bedtime. It’s also a beautiful, and seemingly insurmountable, star-crossed romance between two characters that ought to be mortal enemies. If you like Patricia Briggs, Yasmine Galenorn, and Nalini Singh, you owe it to yourself to read this series and other works by both Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy.

I was given an ARC from the authors for an honest review.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*

I'm so sad the war is over! Malina has been through a lot in this series, going from protective assassin to accidental murderer to... world savior? I loved that gods were a known thing and the reason for saving the world all that time ago, but while they sleep, it's the older enemies that came to take over, and this installment is where it all goes down.

War is here. Malina knows that if she doesn't get her act together and find a solid way to take down the Daughter of Chaos without killing her mother, she'll lose yet another thing she loves. She's already lost people she cares about, she can't afford another. And speaking of lovers, I had a great time with her having this love triangle between her, Aj and Garuda. At first I was for sure all the way for one guy, but then she had to go all sappy on me and then I got confused, and even when it was clear she chose her guy, it was still sad (bittersweet?) to see things end with the other. No regrets, though. I love the way it all worked out.

The action was great, I liked that it was a mix of fighting and adventure. I'm an impatient person so there were moments when I wanted to skip the important bits of other POVs to get back to Malina, but still, it was a satisfying read. Loved the writing style, the world, the action, the raw romance, and the heartache it gave me in at least three instances. Recommended read!

What a disappointing end to a series I thought would be shelved as a favourite. In the first few chapters of this installment, I realised that not only did I no longer actually like Malina as a character, but I really fucking hated her.

Here's a quick breakdown of all the reasons this series fell apart for me:

1. Malina went from being a badass assassin in Book 1 to a pathetic shell of a cheater in here.
2. The insta-love between her and Garuda made me want to rip out my own throat.
3. There were so many world building aspects that were just thrown in but were pivotal to the story making it feel rushed and like it belonged on a fantasy based fan-fiction dedicated Tumblr rather than be an actual published work
4. It was a complete cluster-fuck of fantasy

description

OH, and one more thing that completely fucking bothered me to no end

When Malina made the decision to take Garuda with her to see the Naga because he lights her lady parts on fire while simultaneously making a cold-sweat break out all over her body in primal fear (such a solid foundation for a relationship, I know), not once does she think "Oh, maybe I shouldn't take him to see the species that he tried to exterminate because I'M AN IDIOT WHO NO LONGER HAS A BRAIN AND FUNCTIONS SOLELY ON MY NEED TO FUCK A CHARACTER WHO TRIED TO KILL ME A BOOK AGO."

This whole debacle made me realise that both Malina and Garuda were selfish self-serving assholes who I ended up rooting for to be executed. I can't help but think what a waste of $5 this was. I could've gotten a meal from McDonald's, thrown it directly into the bin, and still felt more satisfied. All for the exact same price.

Really amazing! Packed with action and romance, and not to mention a very steamy lovemaking scene... I really liked the chemistry between Garuda and Malina. It's been building up the whole time, and finally we get to see it in all its glory in this book.

"I've lived long enough, Malina. And if living any longer means living in a world without you, then..."
-Garuda

There were quite a lot of characters introduced in the end, but I was satisfied with the conclusion. I didn't particularly care for their

This is the third book in Jasmine Walt's and Debbie Cassidy's The Gatekeeper Chronicles, in which the series comes to an epic, and humble end. The series begins with Marked by Sin, and the principle setting is an alternative London that savors of Bladerunner, Steampunk, and a sort of contemporary city for Hindu deities. That is the starting point. The alternative realities are even more surreal, and completely fascinating.

I want to discuss the qualities of the book more than a detailed plot exposition which should be discovered by the reader anyway. Although I have not yet had the pleasure of reading any of Ms. Cassidy's other fiction than in this series, I have read most of Ms. Walts' works. There is something I find very refreshing in Ms. Walt's fantasy. There is good. There is a right. There is an inherent morality in her worlds. Her characters often get dropped into hells from which they fight, crawl, or finesse their way out, but the striving is always wholehearted, defiant, and persevering. One feels cleaner and uplifted reading her tales, and that is not very common in these days. The struggles are daunting, the victories are not cheap, and in fact not everyone wins here or even comes out alive.

This is my favorite book in the series. This series is my favorite of those by Ms. Walt. I think it is her strongest work to date. Multiple subplots are handled with elegance, and do not distract from or disrupt the main narrative. Whole stories within the story are told, to a purpose, within a few paragraphs or even lines. Supporting characters are so solid, so vivid and interesting, that the world is made deeper and richer even with cameo characters. While all her works are well written, I do think Ms. Walt has risen to a new level with this series. The lights are brighter, the shadows darker, the tale is more complex, yet more elegant and seemingly effortless in presentation. The apparent effortlessness is a result of careful work and expanding skill.

I strongly recommend this series. In order, the books are Marked by Sin, Hunted by Sin, and this final book Claimed by Sin. Each book is a delight, and each improves upon its predecessor. There are some details I still wonder about, but the conclusion of the spiritual war in this series is epic, and the final Gatekeeper is true to her charge. This is an ARC review.

This is the last book in this trilogy and it is a bittersweet ending.

In this installment, Malina is still feeling the loss of Eamon quite strongly and dealing with it the best way she can. Debbie Cassidy does a great job at showing how real she is, how we all could relate to this character- and in fact, many of her characters are like that; easy to empathize with and relate to on many levels. As the story goes on Malina has to plan and figure out how she is going to get rid of the daughter of chaos. She starts to explore more of the multiverse and we get unique looks into the past worlds that made up the modern one. We learn more about certain characters and so many twists are thrown in that my head is still reeling!

You can really feel what the characters are doing and see everything going on. I really enjoyed the unique plot, it was truly original and it was refreshing to read a different idea. Having it more about the Indian gods was really what made it a fresh idea, well that and the hellhound aspect; I love the Greeks and Romans but these gods were a new idea that had me intrigued from the get-go.

I have enjoyed this series so much. The end was quite fitting and it leaves you with more answers than questions, which is a huge plus in my eyes. Fantastic story/series that I highly recommend!

This is the last installment in the series, there was plenty of action in this one, the final big bad battle.

I was right about Toto...just saying!

The story threaded through was amazing and I certainly didn't see half of it coming. I can't even. No spoilers and all I can think to say is spoilers, GAH!

I would have loved to have gotten to know Garuda and various characters better. Had more in depth interactions between the characters, but how much can you put into a trilogy with such an in depth story and keep it flowing?

This is a 4.5 for me, I would have loved an extended epilogue, I know some of the characters crossed over to Carmella's story but I would have loved to have seen where everyone ended up. Ajitah and his boys, Loki, Drake, her Grandfather. But the ending we got for Malina was pretty sweet.

There are soooo many things to say about this series, but first.... those covers??? This new release/update of this emotional trilogy features gorgeous new covers that seem to fit the theme a bit more than the previous ones, though those stood out as different and unique.

As for the story.... oh yes. So much yes. This is the end of the journey for this little grouping and it's brought to a stunning, painful, yet hopeful conclusion. The Daughter of Chaos, loss, Garuda... ALL of it. It's the end, and it truly is Epic.

I was unsure of Malina when I first started The Gatekeeper Chronicles, but by the end of Book 1, she had become a new Favorite, and that has not changed in the years since I first picked these up. This reread felt just as intense and exciting as the first read-through. A 4.5 Read that I highly recommend.

Ending to series are bittersweet to me as I would love to also read more but the author did a fantastic job and it couldn't have been any better. The series is seriously binge-able and everything you could. The series takes you through all sorts of emotions and you just can't but get sucked into what Malina is feelings. I won't say too much but I just recommend you dive in and explore the world the author has to offer.

This series is so so good! It’s been one awesome journey and one I am sad to see end but I also wanted the answers to all the questions from the previous books! Find Malina‘s mother, defeat the daughter of darkness and fight the final battle. There’s danger and loss, there’s failure but also joy and a conclusion fitting for this incredible series, one that I will happily read again!

**Spoiler Alert** ARC Review, Claimed by Sin

Jasmine Walt and Debbie Cassidy’s third book in the Gatekeeper Chronicles trilogy is the heart-stopping conclusion of former assassin and Hell’s gatekeeper Malina’s story. Her story began in Book One, Marked by Sin, where we learn Malina is an accomplished assassin preparing for her 50th kill. Her true nature has been magically suppressed by her adoptive father and the god Narada. By Claimed by Sin, her nature – Hellhound and Naga – has been revealed, her true father has died, and Malina is in the throes of self-destructive grief.

Complicating Malina’s life is her confusing love relationships with colleague Ajitah and sometime-colleague and Naga killer Garuda. Only Malina knows Ajitah is a god, and she cannot tell anyone, least of all Ajitah. She has been both repelled and drawn to Garuda since the beginning and realizes her attraction to Garuda is stronger than to Ajitah in Book Two, Hunted by Sin.

On the hunt for her mother – and the Daughter of Chaos – Malina gathers her friends and allies, two witches, a witch blood, an assassin, Ajitah, and Garuda. Working in concert with the gods and IEPEU operative Melody Parker, the team frantically moves against time to stop the evil Kubara and find the Daughter of Chaos before she destroys all worlds.

Malina travels across worlds and realities in her search for the Daughter of Chaos. She meets her alternate self and is gifted a precious daughter to love and protect, strengthening her bond with Garuda. But feelings must be placed on hold as the rollercoaster ride races faster and faster toward the ultimate showdown between the forces of good and evil.

Risking her life again and again, Malina goes for broke as she meets with her Naga grandfather Vasuki, absorbs the seal of Hell’s power that is rapidly killing her, enters the mind of the insane witch Velocity, and meets the Daughter of Chaos for the final time. She learns the true nature of the Void, the antithesis of creation, and feels compassion toward this bitter enemy of all she holds dear.

Get ready, readers, because Jasmine and Debbie’s final book in this world of fantasy and adventure will leave you both satisfied and breathless!

First the pros- it's action packed and plot heavy.
This was such a promising series but this book seems so rushed, like a first draft that should have been further developed or that the authors had a word limit that was insufficient to cover the events they wanted to. Nothing in this story is fleshed out. The romance goes from an attraction to ever after in the blink of an eye, without any actual relationship development. (I don't feel like this is a spoiler because this is a carryover from the last book). So many characters are introduced, most little more than a name. They were indistinguishable and if I hadn't read the first two books I'd have no idea who ANY of the characters were or why I should care. As it was, I couldn't care about any of the characters because they barely existed. There is so much plot, but because nothing is given the chance to stew or rest or develop, it all seems meaningless. Because everything goes right for the main character at all times (sometimes because the multiverse wills it, which doesn't feel like much of a reason when an author/s wills everything in a book), there's nothing at stake. Even when we're told the world is ending for some indecipherable reason involving multiple versions of the same universe it's hard to care especially when it's just solved almost instantly. It even cuts to a random nothing character to show them fixing a problem, which has nothing to do with the main character. Why?!
The main character is kind of an a*hole. When the world is "ending" she takes a random break to , meanwhile people are getting killed but she gives no f*cks because all her "friends" - really more names than characters- have strong plot armour on. Additionally, she

This is the last book in this trilogy, and I am sad it is over. Ms. Walt and Ms. Cassidy have written a unique and great tale, and I loved every minute of it. To be honest up front, this review might be a little vague as I don’t want to give away any spoilers. In this installment, Malina is still feeling her loss quite strongly and dealing with it the best way she can. I really like how real she is, how well the authors draw the characters in general. You can really feel what the characters are doing and see everything going on. I also enjoyed the unique plot; it was great learning more about the Indian gods, and we learned about even more in this book. And, let’s not forget her love interests. I was sad about the one who didn’t get Malina’s heart (I would like to know more about him), but I thought the one she chose was the right one. I have enjoyed this series so much, Ms. Cassidy is now someone I will definitely check out again, and I already follow Ms. Walt. The end was quite fitting, and, again, I really hate to see the series end. But, it was a great ride! If you love this series, you will love this concluding title! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I'm so sad that this last book means this series is over! I've really enjoyed this whole series and have loved the characters. But like the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and this book was good.

We start off a few weeks after the last book finished and it's easy enough to get right back into the story and all the action. This book really is ram packed full of action but it's not over the top with it as it's well written. I love how the characters relationships all build up and add to the final crescendo of the finale and I really, particularly love the multi verse of the world building.

This whole series has been really exciting to read and I enjoyed it that much that I could've read at least another 4 books in this series. However I felt that the authors have done justice to the story line with this final book as it rounded the series off nicely. My final wish though is that hopefully, just maybe some point in the future the authors will return us to this world with another series as there are some characters I really would love to learn more of.

**SPOILER**
I liked the first one, the second one a bit less, and parts of the third were great and other part were gag worthy. A strong woman of her time, good to her friends, compassionate to her self. A little disconnected but trying to do her best. She gets some good news bad news situation and her life is changed forever; you were stolen from your family as a child and I am your father, who loves you and never stopped hoping I would find you. The man who raised you was forced to train you as an assassin and give you orders for innocent people and oh yeah the last kill was your uncle and by the way your father's family line are Hellhounds, tasked to guard the gate between Hell and this existence. Yes that throw anyone for a loop, but she became colder, sharper, more selfish, single minded and hornyier. Me Me Me and oh yeah what about me.... The story was great but I was so happy to see the end of this story and Malina. That chick got on my last good nerve. Save the world, get the big cock and go away please and thank you.

What can I say about the third book in this trilogy?

It's a heart wrenching one bouncing between realities and other characters revealing they weren't quite who we thought they were initially!

Definitely will need to read the trilogy as a whole to get the story.

We get to read more about the history of how the hellhounds were created and where the gods came into that.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading every page of this wonderful urban fantasy story!

All sorts of mythical creatures and realities for the fantasy fan to get their read-on on to!

Wow, this book had me turning pages and reading like crazy! Malina wants to save her mother from the Daughter of Chaos and she's going to need all her friends and the help of the sleeping gods to do so. With the passing of her father, she's more determined to do what she must to get her mother back. Good thing she's such a great warrior, cause Malina's going to need all the skills she posses just to survive. This book has danger, magic, love, friendship, unbelievable creatures, gods, adventure, destruction, heroes and an epic final battle to be fought!

Truly exceptional ending to this wonderful tale

I have enjoyed this tale beyond measure. I loved how you wrapped it all up in the amount of pages you two had and did not loose anything vital to Malina's story. I also appreciated the other two points of view you two wove into the story. It really added depth in the final chapter. Malian and Garuda will always be one of my favorite literary couples. I am sad to see it end, but grateful for the way it did. Thank you guys for a memorable read!

Whew! What a ride!

This book is the best of the best, in my opinion. The final battle of good against evil. Excitement, romance, action, you name, this book has it all. A fitting ending to a great series. Malina finally figures everything out and saves the day, the world and all alternate worlds as well. But not going to spoil it for you. Read this whole series and you will see what I mean. Jasmine Walt is a master story teller and sucks you in on page one with every book. This final offering of Malina's story is no different! Read and enjoy!

I was not disappointed with this series from Jasmine Walt. I am a new fan of Jasmine Walt's books but I became an avid fan real quickly. I feel this series could have been a longer series, but who am I to question works of art? This is the 3rd book in The Gatekeeper Chronicles. This books focus on the game plan and the final showdown with the Daughter of Chaos, their objective is to free Malina's mom. I enjoyed the journey so far with this series and I really enjoyed the personalities of the characters, they felt "real".

Claimed By Sin is the last book in the Gatekeeper Chronicles Series and I am very sad to see this series come to an end. Malina is such a great female lead - strong, stubborn but good hearted. She makes rash decisions without thinking but it is only because she is trying to do what is best for those she loves. I really felt for the one who did not win her heart and would love to see a spin off with him and his family. I look forward to more from both of these Authors.

Amazing ending to this trilogy! I was lucky enough to beta read as well as read the ARC! I loved this series from the very first book so I absolutely couldn't wait to see how it all turned out! This book is so wonderfully well written. So many twists and turns that you just don't know what happens next! Malina is an absolute favorite of mine, I just can't get enough of her story. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thrilling adventure in an urban fantasy world!

Great ending to Malina's story. From being kidnapped as a child, growing up to be an assassin and now as a spellbound, who will someday as a hellhound, responsible for maintaining the seal to the underworld. Malina is now trying to find a way to separate her mother from the Daughter of Chaos, who is determined to destroy earth as people know it. The Gods, along with others help her on her quest.

Last books are hard because they carry all the hopes and dreams of the series. I would've like more at the end to help wrap up all the details but I wasn't disappointed. If you liked the other books you'll like this one. I never got the depth or connection I wanted from the characters but the story was entertaining.
