ABOUT PIERO RIVOLTA
Award-winning author Piero Rivolta grew up in Milan in a family of automakers. He left Italy and moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1980 with his wife Rachele, a painter. They have two grown children, Renzo and Marella. Bridge Through the Stars is his first novel since the publication of Journey Beyond 2012 and his Florida fiction series, Sarasota Sunset in Sarasota, Alex and the Color of the Wind and The Castaway. Piero is also the author of four poetry/prose Just One The Rest is God, Nothing Is Without Future, Going By Sea and One Life, Many Lives.

Born in Desio, Italy in 1941, Piero earned a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Politecnico di Milano at age 24. Two years later, after his father’s unexpected death, he became the world’s youngest CEO of a car manufacturing firm, Iso Rivolta. Beginning in the 1940s, the company designed and built motorcycles and the popular egg-shaped, front-door Isetta bubble car. Until Rivolta sold it in 1972, when the golden age of the small, independent Italian car manufacturer ended, he continued to develop and produce various models. Among them were the highly esteemed Iso Rivolta GT, the famous Grifo luxury sports car and the Formula 1 racecar, the Iso Rivolta Marlboro.
In addition to his writing and work in the automobile industry, Piero has raised jumping horses in Italy, run a spinning mill in Brazil and engaged in real estate development in Europe, Central America and the United States.
Deeply involved in the arts, Rivolta helps to organize many cultural events, and is cofounder and president of the annual La Musica chamber music festival in Sarasota, Florida, where he resides.
