Little sister next door by Riley Rollins a fab five star read. Riley Rollins writes a good descriptive story, she lays the words on a page in a way that when you read them they play in your mind like a movie playing on a wall in front of you. I am one of those annoying people who read and watch a film at the same time or cook and read, but this book I shut everything off I went into a dark room with my kindle and just read. It was refreshing and funny, passionate and fun filled. I may be bias as I am a little sister but I loved how protective Joe is even risking things to keep her, showing a different side of himself, a side that makes you feel certain things. If you take a chance and try this book I know you will enjoy this great read.

Just one more chapter... just one more chapter...

It didn't take me long to get sucked under by author Riley Rollins' classic addictive storytelling in this latest release, and I didn't come up for air until the final page.

In Little Sister Next Door, Rollins delivers another five-star read with solid, carry-through on the plot and subplots, combustible chemistry between the love interests (Joe and Maggie), steamy teasing that draws on every sensory nerve and will drive the reader mad waiting for the couple to hook up, and the perfect HEA that ties up all the loose ends and fits the couple and story to a T.

As usual, Rollins gives readers a story that's unique: there may be elements that remind you of common themes, settings, or whatever, but that's where any similarities end.

Two characteristics that stuck out to me:

-- this "second-chance at a first-chance" romance built off an existing history that wasn't outlandish or unbelievable, and the plot evolved naturally by the two of them building on that foundation and moving forward -- how refreshing they each felt the same way about one another, were willing to admit and own it, and figured out how to solve problems that arose; and

-- the dialogue and exchanges between Joe, Maggie's older (and protective) brother Dean -- as well as those between Dean and Maggie -- were realistic, natural, and believable.

Little Sister Next Door is a steady, fast-paced read with energy, romance, steam and sizzle; a feisty and independent spitfire of a heroine; a genuinely classy, all-around "gotta love him" hero; a solid cast of primary and secondary characters, and their respective relevant subplots; and an attention-holding story from start to finish.

This is a story that starts out in childhood and grows until they are adults. Maggie never had a protector until Joe came into her life and he stayed there and only left when he went off to college. Maggie's family life was not a good one and they did it have much in way of possessions. Joe is from a wealthy family and best friends with her brother Dean. Both their dad's servered in the service together and due to some honor on his part Maggie's family is allowed to live in the guest house on their property, along with college funds. Maggie had a little girl crush on Joe and it never leaves her as she knows it's one of a kind. Joe has always cared for Maggie and never knew how deep until she returns from college as a grown woman, who he did not recognize right away! It's nice to see that their attraction is the same but neither thinks it will happen for reasons they believe they shouldn't. Taking a chance proves to be just the right choice for them. There is differntly many misunderstandings with them and all the other characters and it's nice to see how they all work on them. The events surrounding the storms is an interesting take and just shows you what true love means! The family members on each side give them a run for their money and taking one step at a time is all they can do. They believe in living in the present and make their decisions with their relationship that way throughout the story. I'm curious to see who the next story from this wonderful cast of characters will have a great story about them! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Little sister next door is about a girl named Maggie, who is 22 and a recent college graduate, and Joe, who is a decade older than her and has always seen her as a little kid sister. Joe and his family has always taken care of Maggie and her older brother Dean since she was a little kid. Maggie has come back to the town where she grew up and Joe is finally starting to see her as a grown up woman; however, he is not used to seeing her so independent. Maggie has a big dream, running a relief company for people who were in a disaster, like a tornado, hurricane, etc. I loved that about Maggie because from her and joe's backstory you see what struggles she has gone through. She grew up with an alcoholic dad and a brother who was slowly becoming one. Joe was always there to protect and take care of her--and her family eventually took them in. I didn't like Joe's grandmother because she kept calling them the charity family and always thought Maggie and Dean were a burden to her family. She didn't want her grandsons hanging out with them and thought they were a terrible influence. Overall, I liked the story--I wish there was more to it but it was generally good.

I did like it but it was not great, if you live in tornado zones then you will understand what was going on, I didn't, I've seen movies about the tornado and the damage and this book talked about an organization that will give food, medical help, lessons and relief from the bad storms. Joe (33) is 11 years older than Maggie (22) he runs his family's multi-billion dollar news station, he gave up his dreams for, Growing up he was the oldest of his younger brother, Ryan, his best friend, Dean, and Dean's baby sister Maggie. He protects her from everything.
Maggie has had a rough childhood, her mother dies at a young age, a drunk father and a older brother that drinks and parties and has no time for her. She gave Joe her heart at 7 and begged him to marry her then as she can always have him to protect and never leave her. But he does, He also unknowingly breaks her heart when she catches him with some woman.
Years later she is done with college and started a relief organization and she came home to Joe's family guesthouse to get her job ready to be in tornado damaged towns.
Joe and Maggie will be fighting each other's heart and their family's acceptance, with their love survive the tornado's destruction or will a mean old grandmother and a older brother keep their hearts from being one with each other...

All grown up now and very far from the little scared girl who always felt like a charity case, Maggie is on her way back to the place she called home. She is also going back to a man she grew up with and who she has always loved, in fact she has saved herself just for him. Will he remember that promise? The one she asked him and he promised her he would?

He has always adored little Maggie, he is ten years older so he was going off to school and getting into his life. He was like a big brother to her. Now that she has returned to the little town, and now that she is all woman, Joe has no intention of allowing his promise not be kept. He is picking her up at the airport and already knew he was a goner.

Maggie is in town to start living her dream. She loves what she does. Chasing storms basically is her life. Once in town the storm has followed her, in more than one way. There is a weather phenom going on, but there is also the storm between her and Joe, and it is turning out to be heavier, hotter and more intense than any weather phenom that could happen.

At first Joe fights his attraction to Maggie, after all she is the sister of a great friend, and he for so long thought of her the same way....a little sister. But that little girl is a grown, beautiful woman and a force to be reckoned with. Maggie is not going to hide her feelings, she has had them for so long, she is tired of fighting them. The constant draw between these two make the dynamics that much hotter and sweeter and full-filling.

When Joe and Maggie finally get their chance to be together, they have hurdles to face. Maggie's brother being a large one. He knows all too well how Joe has been with women, and he doesn't want his sister in that path. The only difference is Joe doesn't want that either. In fact coming from the well to do family that he does, he has always toed the line in order to keep that money. Now he is willing to give it all up, even all of the money, just to be with Maggie. Maggie is head-strong, she is not willing to give up doing what she loves to be controlled by the money or by Joe....and they are back to arguing, and making up. Such a delicious circle they go in.

They banter, they argue, they make up. There are secrets being kept by all involved in this book, some juicy, some shocking but delicious, some you think you knew but really didn't. All the secrets and all the love shared in this book leave you wanting so much for Joe and Maggie and finally allowing them the happily ever after, and it is happy is all the reward you need.

Sometimes we find our soulmates when we are young. We believe they are it but as we get older life makes us question it.
Maggie and Dean were children of a drunk father. The had the good fortune to live on an estate of a military buddy of their father's. While Dean began to follow in his father's footsteps, Maggie was left on her own. Until Joe. he took care of her when she was small. He made sure she was fed and looked after. He was her knight in shinning armor. When Joe is leaving for college Maggie makes him promise he will marry her one day.
Fast forward. Maggie is returning home after finishing college. She has a plan to start a company that will help those in need, especially during disasters.
Joe is now CEO of his family's company but he feels something is missing from his life. he is just not sure what it is. Enter Maggie.
When Maggie and Joe connect again their chemistry and connection far surpasses the one they had as children. Though both remember their promise on the swing that day.
This is a well written story with characters that you want to get to know and you can see some of the secrets that are being kept.
The story has both a strong protective alpha - Joe but an equally strong female in Maggie. She wants Joe but not at the cost of not being herself.
I was given this book for an honest and voluntary review.

When Joe promised little Maggie all those years ago he would be the one for her- he didn't realize what impact that would have on them both now that they're fully grown adults. Getting one look at Maggie all grown up standing in the bus terminal has taken the once just fiercely protective Joe of the girl who lived a few steps away like an over protective brother would be and quickly morphed into one of passion and more love than he knew he was capable of having.
While this is what Maggie has always wanted, she is not willing to give up herself for everything she has worked for. Finding a happy middle ground with the storms raging between them will have them in for the fight of their lives.
Well then! This book was so different and exciting! I loved the " twists " ( <<<<--- I love a good pun ) and turns in this one! Sexy and swoon factor that I am still over here sighing about! I love Joe's wild, passionate side, and how hard it is for him to control himself around her, I swear I could feel the connection coming off the pages! Love the bits of humor thrown in, and the hearts squeeze's that had me awwing even more! Sexiness throughout I was all about sweet, angsty, romanced me right up tale!

Joe Decker remembers Maggie as the much-younger sister of his best friend whose family lived on the Decker estate. Maggie has been in love with Joe since she was too young to know what that even meant, even though he never saw her as anything but a kid. Now she’s back after college with big plans and an even bigger need for independence.

This love story was unusual in that they get to the cementing their relationship part rather early on instead of at the very end, which allows the story to extend into how they make it work for the long run. They have to deal with family interference (on both sides), trust issues, protective instincts, and current vs. past perceptions of each other. In the midst of all this, they’re educating and preparing citizens for weather emergencies, running from tornadoes, and uncovering secrets from the past. It’s an authentic, complicated journey that only strengthens their love for each other.

This story has an abundance of heartwarming romance, nail-biting adventures, and deep and abiding friendships all built on a foundation of a love strong enough to sustain both families forever. It’s one of the best-written romance novels I’ve read in a very long time. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A great read by Riley Rollins about a young woman, Maggie, who has been in love with her older brother's friend, Joe. He doesn't recognize her when he first sees her and when he realizes who she is, he is stunned. Maggie doesn't pull any punches and lets Joe know how she feels about him after weeks of being home and both have the same memories of when they were younger, Joe promised to marry her when she was all grown up. When he joins her on a mission the sparks are definitely there and they finally give into their feelings. But there are things and people against them, her brother and his grandmother. Not only that but the doubts that her brother instills in her about him. All that doesn't matter because Joe proves to all how far he will go to be with her.
A great story with steamy scenes and I really enjoyed them both. Joe wasn't a man wh*** and didn't hold back his affections for her once he started and Maggie was fearless and motivated and proved to everyone she was a grown woman. I only wished there was an epilogue as I would have like to see them more into the future.

Good HEA story

I liked this story a lot. The characters were well rounded. I wished it was longer and had a more in depth conclusion. I would still reread this story as well as more by this author. Did come with a bonus story,(not part of this review) that I will be reading too. New to this authors work.
Overview. Maggie grew up with a hard life. Her dad was a drunk and they lived on the Decker's family land in a cottage. Maggie and her brother Dean depended on themselves as well as the Decker boys, Joe and Ryan. Joe was 10 years older than Maggie and best friends with Maggie's brother Dean. Ryan and Maggie were close in age and we're friends. Joe looked after everyone. It's how Maggie first fell in love with Joe. So when Maggie comes back from college she is shocked to see Joe now and Joe is now seeing the Woman she had become. But Maggie's vision of her future had her career of helping people with her foundation but she also wanted Joe. But will the two be able to reconnect their love. Will her brother Dean except that Joe and Maggie as a couple or demand them separate for good?

Magna cum laude graduate Maggie Blake is going home to start a foundation to help people in need. Maggie had grown up loving her brother Dean's best friend Joe and had begged him to promise to marry her when she grew up. Before Maggie had left for college, she'd seen Joe with a girl and decided whatever feelings she had for Joe needed to stay buried in the past. Executive Director Joe Decker doesn't recognize the beautiful Maggie when he arrives at the bus station to pick her up. Maggie is no longer a little girl and Joe's protective feelings toward her are no longer brotherly. Joe joins Maggie when heads out to an active tornado zone to help tornado survivors, and the danger they encounter makes Joe realize that she's the love of his life. But Joe has his work cut out for him ... neither Maggie's brother Dean or Joe's grandmother Bess approve of a relationship between Joe and Maggie. Will Joe and Maggie be able to get their HEA?

Note: I received an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Ok-let's make it obvious that I do not include spoilers in any way to the best of my ability with my book reviews, so read ahead. :)

I simple, LOVED 'Little Sister Next Door', the title alone is SO simple it barely does justice to the complex and interesting story Riley Rollins gives us. I found each character to be not your A-Typical type romance characters, and the story itself like the "issues" the couple faces, the context and locations where it all happens are also really interesting. (Again, this is hard to describe without ruining something from the book).

I usually really like books by Riley Rollins but this one just felt even better. It has the hot moments you want in Romance, and it keeps you invested as you go along - there's no moments where you are stuck waiting or get bored, so needless to say you will enjoy it from the beginning to the very end.

It was a great read and I can't see why you won't enjoy it yourself so go ahead and pick up this book. It'll be a great read.

Little Sister Next Door by Riley Rollins is a fun and sexy book. Well written and with an engaging storyline I found it an excellent read. This is the story of Joe and Maggie. Joe has been friends with Dean (Maggie's older brother) since they were kids. Maggie has always tagged along after them and has always had a crush on Joe. Before leaving for college little Maggie begged Joe to promise to marry her when she got older. Now many years later Maggie returns from college and Joe is blown away by the instant attraction he feels for her. Is this attraction worth risking everything for Joe? What will happen when Dean finds out? Read the book to find out. You will love it. This also includes a bonus copy of Riley Rollins The Baby Contract. A wonderful story of a man that desperately wants to have a baby and the surrogate he hires to make his dream reality. I've read this also and it was a very sexy and heartwarming romance. Maggie has been in love with millionaire Joe since she was a tiny child. Hanging on his every word and following him around like a puppy, her brother's best friend was her hero for years, and when he went away for college, she asked him to promise to marry her one day. Many years later, Joe finally lays eyes on the girl he promised to marry when she was 7 years old, but she's no child. In fact, she is the most compelling woman he has ever laid eyes on, and he's seen a LOT of women in his time. Now that Maggie is out of college, the eleven year age gap is big but not forbidden, and Joe is determined to do everything in his power to make Maggie his and only his. Maggie's ideals and her social work degree have enabled her to set up a relief company specializing in helping the needy in her native Texas, particularly those hit hard with the tornados that regularly devastate the state. The company and the work that Maggie does prompts Joe to want to help in any and every way possible, but this also leads to misunderstandings, doubts and danger. Great read - I truly enjoyed my ARC copy.

Maggie is heading back home to Texas to show that she grew up and is making a life for herself, no matter what happened in the past. While growing up in Texas, she loved Joe, her older brothers best friend, but he didn't return the feelings quite like she had. He was just there to protect her and care for her. After getting home, Joe picks her up at the bus station and boy has she changed. Instant physical attraction, but he will fight it due to the past and her brother. Pretty soon they can't fight the feelings anymore and he makes her his everything, even when her life is in danger. They fight over her protection, but when he knows that she is doing good in her life and is fulfilling her passion, he knows she is the one for him. They still have one battle to fight though, their families. With they will or not? I absolutely loved this book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Knocked this one out of the park.

Little Sister Next Door is a great story about a young woman named Maggie who is 22 years old and recently graduated college. Joe is the neighbor and friend that has always been there for Maggie and her brother Dean.

When Maggie's car breaks down, Joe is sent to pick her up at the bus station but he can't find her. He sees a few people waiting around, including a gorgeous girl with short skirt and boots on. When he calls Dean to say she isn't there, Dean calls Maggie and then she turns around and sees Joe. Little does she know but Joe was really checking her out when he didn't realize that was Maggie.

It was such a great story. It had all of the longing from both sides, as well as great suspense when the storms roll through.

I want to read more. Had lots of good action and great hot parts too. Would love to find a man like Joe. They don't get better written.

Thank you Riley Robbins for such a wonderful book.

This is a tempting book for readers of romance. You have Maggie who has loved Joe for years. He was always there for Maggie and her brother . But Joe always seen Maggie as a little sister type until the day her picked her up at the bus station on her arrival home from college. Four years away has definitely changed both people.

Maggie is strong, independent and still loves Joe. After all she has saved herself for just him.
Joe is Maggie's brothers best friend and this could cause trouble. In the mist of internally fighting his attraction and Maggie making it very difficult this story blooms into a very sweet romance with challenges and a few heated scenes.

There is a bit of something for everyone in this book. Well written, great storyline and lovable characters. I've just added Riley Rollins to my must read list, which I have to say is growing with the lot of talented authors out there.

Maggie's been in love with Joe since she was a child. Being her older brothers best friend just meant Joe was always around. But now that Maggie's done college and come home, it means complications. She's an adult and her brother, Dean, and Joe need to stop treating her like a child.
Maggie is very excited to be out in the field to help people now that she's done school and has her degree. She wants to be able to be there for people before natural disasters strike. Being back in Texas lets her help the people living in tornado zones. Dean and Joe refuse to let her go without them even though she's with others from the company. Being in the middle of the danger zone Joe realizes his feelings for Maggie but with his best friend being her brother Joe is fighting it. But when disaster strikes the team, it may be too late for Maggie and Joe.

This story had so many emotions in it! Forbidden attraction, undeniable sex appeal, love, betrayal and terror. 💗

Joe and Maggie sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G.....

Joe and Maggie's story will leave you reeling long after the last page. What starts off as a little girls crush on her older brother's friend ends up being the kind of love that will last you for a life time.....but don't worry it's not just a story about how a little girl ends up with the boy of her dreams, it's about what happens once she's got him and how they as a couple have to work to keep it.....through in some misunderstandings along the way, some server weather, a few twists and turns and some interfering family members and you've got the makings of real love story, that will leave you with the belly flutters and swooning hard.

The character's are likeable and well written, the story line was developed and the chemistry between these two is undeniable and off the charts hot!!

**I received this ARC in exchange for an honest voluntary review** Interesting little twist on a second chance romance with a bit of the taboo of best friend's little sister & an 11 year age gap. Sometimes at a young age, you just know who will be the one. Joe has been the constant protector of his family, including the Blake children Dean & Maggie. 15 years have passed since the last time Maggie & Joe have seen each other & now she's grown up to be independent, passionate & ambitious with her disaster relief organization. Will Joe finally see her as she sees him? Lovable characters, even if some were acting hypercritical about Joe & Maggie's relationship. Great storyline & pacing, along with the added attention to the dangers emergency relief responders can endure & how people suffer from/ through natural disasters. Loved the mini flashbacks as well. Would recommend :)

Maggie has loved Joe almost all her life. He's a lot older and always thought of her as a little sister to be protected, cared for, and looked after, but when she comes home after several years away he is knocked out by the change in her. She's vibrant, driven, full of passion and determined to make him see her as a woman. How can he resist?

Little Sister Next Door is a very special romance! The connection between Maggie and Joe leaves no doubt in your mind that they are meant to be together. This is a really great love story with sensuous love scenes, not to mention the intense and dramatic storm scenes. This book drew me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. It's definitely a Riley Rollins favorite. I loved it.

The blurb of the book tells a promising story of romance and scandal. If, like me, you like your books to make grammatical sense as well as structural sense then this book is not for you. I found it difficult to keep track of who the characters were with the author having not introduced them to the reader properly. The main characters Maggie and Joe were easy enough to understand but it seemed the depth and detail for the other supporting characters in the book were foregone. I also had to sigh when within the first moments of reading the book, the characters were discussing businessmen (and women) writing 'checks' for Maggie's foundation, I was unsure whether this was just a grammatical mistake that had slipped through the editors grasp however, the entire book is left flawed with these little mistakes making sentences for the most part not make any sense.

The story, what little I did read of it, takes place in a tornado zone and follows the main characters taking part in relief efforts. Since there was no mention of this in the blurb, I was surprised. Ultimately however, it wasn't the plot so much as the dialogue that lost me. I didn't feel a developed connection and even though the main characters had a history, the relationship just seemed to rushed.

DNF - I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't make it past the halfway mark. The dialogue between Maggie and Joe( I couldn't even think of his name and had to look it up, that's how much I lost interest) annoyed me. I tried to move past that, but the story line just completely lost me. This book wasn't was I expecting it to be and sometimes that turns out for the best, but in this case I found myself disappointed....

Love Little Sister Next Door. Maggie and Joe are wonderful and so are the secondary characters. Kinda hoping we get to see there story's too. Maggie is Independent and sure of what she wants professionally and on a personal level and she's not afraid to go after what she wants on both levels. Love her fire and her spirit. She has so much passion and it shines through in the book. Joe is so protective of everyone. Especially Maggie. He's amazing even when he overbearing. I absolutely fell in love with him. There amazing together. I loved this book it gave me something different and I absolutely enjoyed it. Definitely recommend.

I truly enjoyed this story. I like all of the books by Riley Rollins that I have read but this one just seemed to touch me a little deeper than the rest. A beautiful love story that starts in childhood, is set aside then starts again. They have to learn who the adult version of their love is but that only seems to make their bond stronger. Setbacks, honor, storms and family all get in the way but in the end its just love. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

**I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Readers Copy of this book**
This review is a bit of a challenge for me to write because I wanted to like it more than I did. Joe and Maggie were well written, interesting characters, although he at times needed to get the stick out of his as*. He was so worried about being responsible, he almost missed out on hi future with woman he loved. There were some plot lines that felt forced and unnecessary for the story (it almost felt like a throw in to get the word count up). With all that said, I loved Maggie, strong, independent, passionate, everything you could want for a heroine in a book. Because of the extra plot stuff, the read didn't always move well for me, but still an OK book. Riley Rollins, I'm still a fan.

What do you do when you find your true love at the age of seven? Maggie has always wanted Joe she just thinks it a long lost dream that would never come true, being the fact that she was his friend little sister. Joe is a CEO of his family company not by choice but by family obagation never in his wildest dreams would he think he get what he wanted out of life that is until he meets Maggie ten years later. Maggie and Joe have some long memories of the past that neither of them can let go of is that enough to open a few hearts and let the love in. I guess you will have to find out for yourself. I received this book as a arc for a honest review and I can say that it will tear at your heart to were Joe and Maggie life comes part of your world.
