Wow this was terrible! Not a love story by any means. First of all, Kelly is not likable at all. She is inappropriate with her friend’s husband, she is an attention whore and then for some strange reason that remains a mystery to me, her chance meeting with Kane results in her deciding that he’s the man she’s going to marry. She throws herself at him repeatedly even though he flatly says she’s not his type and he’s engaged. Now what kind of fool is this woman to keep going after a man who says that to you? She’s a lingerie model too lol. Forgot to mention that but nobody but this unpleasant man will do lol Then, without knowing anything about him at all with continued rejection from him, she decides she’s in love with him! I laughed so hard. Like what is this mess? It was just downhill from there actually from the moment the protagonist is introduced, I couldn’t wait to just get this book done. Luckily, it was short.
2.25 Stars. This was not a romantic love story about a couple working through cultural norms, beliefs and practices that challenge their resolve to be together. This was a story of Kane Takahashi, a successful Japanese restauranteur who seeks to honor his heritage and parents by dating and marrying a woman within his race. He has a long term on again-off again relationship with Akio, which is currently on; but sexually, Akio doesn't satisfy him. Kelly Boothe a Black American female lingerie super model is the heroine; but she and Kane have no romantic chemistry. Kelly is pretentious, darling this and that like Tula Bankhead or Bette Davis, she is pushy, disrespectful, bratty and dismissive. She meets Kane a gathering, decides she wants him dismisses his traditions and his girlfriend as inconvenient obstacles to her desire to have him. She uses her body and sex as lures that she gives and takes away. She is an unlikeable character. Kane is not blameless because he allows her to lead him around by his gentiles. They get the "HEA" but they did not meld as a loving couple.
This is the first book I've read in his series. Unfortunately, I didn't start with the first book, but nevertheless, I still enjoyed the book. Kelly a professional model meets Kane the Japanese billionaire. They fall in love but Kane refuses to acknowledge his feelings for Kelly. His parents have always told him that he must marry a nice Japanese girl to have his children and take care of the home. Kelly refuses to give up on Kane and tries to convince hmm they were meant to be together, however, when he tells her their relationship is over because he must marry his own kind has he lost Kelly forever especially when he reads she is engaged to someone else. I recommend you read this book.
Kelly is frikken bold, upfront & outloud. Can't believe how she went after Kane. I get Kanes' hangup in tradition and promises. I've never believed in arranged marriages. I guess there's nothing like a potentially near death experience to change one's perspective huh?!😏 Loved the familiar faces...And it's a great chase and capture. As for the 2nd story..Her Billionaire Alpha...I give it 2 stars..for effort. Never comfortable with the Boss sleeping with his or her employee. The writing style wasn't polished..like perhaps it's an early attempt? Sentence structure and wording is off. And the "love" between Regina & Derek - not believable at all. The sex scenes were trashy and the story seemed to be incomplete.
Kane : BWWM Interracial Romance ( Members From Money Book 9)
I'm intrigue love with all of the gentlemen from Members From Money, not because they rich because when they fall they are all information. There ladies are exceptional women and don't take no for an answer . The pages of these books just combust. I loved Kane and Kelly story it was Interesting ,intriguing and gave us a sense of how we can miss out on true love when we let other people hang ups weigh us down. The bonus book Her Billionaire Alpha was strange but good. These books are for mature reader's.
First book I have read by this author, very good. Kane was so caught up in keeping a promise he made to his parents that he almost lost the lo e of his life. Kelly saw Kane and knew he was the one for her whether he knew it or not. A really fun story. Loved all the ladies from the previous book in this series. Sometimes we have to live our own dreams and not our parents, that's what Kane learned in the end.
Out of all the books in this series that I've read, this one is the best. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the typo's and missing and added on words. Sometimes it was hard to read the sentence and understand the meaning for the jumbled up words. If this is the last one it ended on a high note
A Very Good and Sensual Interracial Romance Novella
Kane: BWAM Interracial Romance (Members From Money Book 9) is a very good and sensual interracial romantic novella that earned a rating of four stars. I enjoyed reading this installment of Members From Money and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading very good interracial romance..
I loved that Kelly went after what she wanted and forced Kane albeit after he almost killed himself to admit that he loved her too and they got married. I enjoyed the second story with Derek and Regina immensely they were perfect for one another. Kudos
Enjoyed reading Kane and Kellys story and she was too funny reminded me so much of Leesa. And I was so happy she had Leesa to lean on as well as the other women they all seem to get along very well. Kane was a hard nut to crack but happy she didn't give up completely! On to the next book!
Kelly was a confident & determined woman and very much like Leesa from "Bradley". Kane was a very successful man insisting he needed to maintain tradition even if it made him miserable. This in itself presented a challenge for Kelly to achieve her goals. Kane almost lost it all until fate intervened.
I'm not to going to lie it hurt when Kane said the hurtful things he did to Kelly, but he grew up with it drilled into his that he was to marry his kind. I was happy that Kane met his match in Kelly a woman who said what was on her mind. It was scary to read about when Brad fell and when Kane had his accident.True love overcomes all!!!
First book was had very good reading Kane took his time to get his woman The second book was more a little complicated With Derek they are both into everything, so they suited
I really liked the idea of different cultures and not just race was the basis of the angst in this relationship but the love was strong and this is what I look for great read!
I was uncertain what to expect from this chapter in the series. Kane and Kelly were adorable!! Not only was their story unique but very interesting. I was very pleased with how everything turned out for them!! I can't wait to read what the next few customers of this special club has to offer!!
The characters were interesting, it was nice getting back with the characters from books 1 through 8. It was really tough for an Asian man to go against tradition, that is a pretty well known fact. But, the female lead was approved pretty tough woman...
Another excellent reader. I am in love with these books! Even the short stories at the back are excellent! As I have said before, continue writing them, and I will continue reading them.
I enjoyed Kane & Kelly story so much! I couldn’t believe how Kane treated her in the beginning, but I could understand his belief. I’m so happy they were able to get it together! Great book as always.
Simply loved it. Totally enjoyed the Members of the Elite Squad series. I spent the week with them and there beautiful wives, and enjoyed it immensely. Bravo
I enjoy Katie Dowe's writing and this book was no different. Loved the story and the characters. Really enjoyed the way the other wives from previous books were featured.
This was the first book I have read by this author (and in this series)... and I loved it! True love finds a way. I love those strong female characters that go for what they want.
There was fire works from the word go. The author put a firecracker and a snow cone together and made a volcano eruption 🌋. Whew, way to make it work! Kudos!
At this point I’ve read several books in this series and the next, bit what I appreciated the most I’m this story is time. For most of the series’ characters there’s instalove and instamarriage and instapregnancy because this author tends to choose recklessness over responsibility (an issue for another day🙄), however, none of those gripes hold for this couple. Of course some of the same issues stand but for Kane and Kelly, there is an evolution and a process to them having their “happily ever after” which felt organic and extremely satisfying where some fall flat. This works best because while their issues are not insurmountable it makes sense that it took time to navigate through and resolve. I’ve enjoyed a few other stories but this is one of the few where I truly feel the couple had a solid foundation that wasn’t based on the idea that lust is love.
