Four blue ribbons from Romance Junkies! ~ BARELY UNDERCOVER by Sedonia Guillone is a fun and suspenseful m/m romance. Sedonia Guillone is one of my favorite authors, and this novella did not disappoint. ` Christina, Romance Junkies Reviewer

Kaz has been a jerk. Afraid to tell his long time lover about a health concern, instead, he makes a bunch of excuses about going undercover and makes himself rather scarce. When a case forces him to turn to Damien for help, he knows he finally needs to tell his lover the truth. Damien knows the love of his life wouldn't just run out on him. Something is wrong. Even though he's pissed, he wants his man back and when Kaz shows up to ask for help, Damien is determined to get the truth out of him, even if it means restraining him (in a sexy way) until he comes clean!

Sedonia Guillone wanted to be an author since the age of six when she first volunteered in the school library and the librarian had to put a limit on how many times she checked out her favorite books. Then at sixteen, a short story she wrote won honorable mention in a contest by the League of American Pen Women and there was no stopping her. Since then, her first M/M mystery/suspense, His Beautiful Samurai, was nominated for a Gaylactic Spectrum Award and has been required reading in a college gay and lesbian literature course. Her M/M romance, Men of Tokyo: Sudden Bliss won a Rainbow Awards honorable mention in the Conteporary category and her historical romance, Lady of Two Lairds was a finalist for The Romance Studio's Cupid and Psyche Awards and A Passionate Plume Ink Chapter of Romance Writers of America. When she's not writing, she's baking something, talking baby talk to her two cats, Iroh and Zuko and hiking in the woods of Maine with her partner.

The last by Sedonia Guillone is pure hot sex! I was uncertain when I read the blurb cause I'm not very fond of detective stories, usually they have too much violence in it, but I know well Sedonia Guillone's works and I like it. So I was willing to give it a try and then it is pretty short, 70 pages, so I thought, I can read it easily in one night.

But only after few pages I was totally involved. True the starting point is the need of Frank Kazaminsky, Kaz, a police detective to go undercover in a male strip club posing as stripper. And since he doesn't know nothing about how to strip in public, he has to ask help to Damien, his former lover, who at the beginning of their relationship, was a stripper in the same club to pay his tuition fees. But unfortunately he has dump Damien without a word six months before after a relationship lasting 13 years, and maybe Damien would be not so happy to see him again.

Instead Damien is very happy to see Kaz. Even if he is deadly angry with him to leave, he still desires him very much and maybe, he thinks to have made something to drive Kaz away. So after some embarassing moments, Kaz has to unveal his segret: he has some hearth troubles and doesn't want to be an half partner for his lover. But obviously this is not a reason for Damien to let Kaz slip away, giving that he is his first and only lover.

So I'm satisfying with this book cause most of it is about Kaz and Damien and their reborning relationship and the suspence story is on the background. It is only an excuse to let us know these characters and sympatize with Damien, who really is a sweet guy (very very sweet and with a deeply need for his lover) and criticize Kaz, who has hadn't trust in Damien.

The story is also stretches in only two days, so we have only a glimpse in the lifes of the two, and some flashback of their past life together, but I think that Sedonia Guillone has given us all what is needing in a fast and erotic "before sleep" reading.

The pick was easy it was short, it was sensual and it was detective story with promise of steamy gay sex between two gorgeous men. Frank Kazaminsky, Kaz, was a detective who neglected his health in the past and now was living with the outcome, however that freaked him so out that he broke with his boyfriend without explanation after relationship which lasted more then decade. Well that was the plot, right weak heart and beta blockers the main theme, no I am joking now. Kaz was hunting crime lord who was sitting on the pile of cocaine in gay strip club. Suprise modest Damian, teacher of Elizabethan literature, had past as a strip dancer and kaz got and idea how to get in to the club oh yes as the strip dancer. So the lesson began and their love and union was renewed with spice of danger.

One of the best m/m romance short stories I've read, the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was too short. The author does a superb job blending emotion and eroticism and plot. These two men were intriguing and grabbed me from page one.

Read this book if you're looking for some very hot sex scenes. The plot is almost nonexistent but there is a little. The chemistry between Kaz and Damien was amazing. I'd like to read a book with these two main characters in a real plotted story.

4 Stars! ~ Though I found Kaz's reason for leaving Damien a bit lame, I loved the way Damien got his revenge. These two are seriously hot together. This is another story that quickly drew me in. I'd love to read more about Kaz and Damien.

That was by far the shittiest,non-cheating reason to leave a lover after a long-term relationship I`ve ever heard of.Sadly the book`s not "bad" enough to give it 3 stars.:D

You really should read the first one, Barely Covered by Sedonia Guillone , but it isn't absolutely necessary. This one takes place 13 years after the first. Which left me with a lot of questions. Which makes it difficult for me to enjoy the book more.

Damien and Kaz met in Barely Covered. For a reason very briefly explained, Kaz left Damien. Then Kaz needed help. And he and Damien reunited. Personally, I think Damien took him back way too quickly.
