Red Riding Hood runs a local Tavern with her grandmother, Ruby. She doesn’t need a man in her life to be happy, and she prides herself in being an independent woman. During a busy night, a highwayman named, Robin One Eye, shows up offering her protection as a pack of werewolves in the area have become a threat to the local public. He requires a fee, but Red refuses; she's ready to to take her chances with the wolves.
Unfortunately, One Eye keeps coming back, sabotaging her business and threatening clients, forcing Red to seek help with the one and only, Alpha King. A hot, arrogant werewolf who's had his eye on her since he stepped foot into Farrington.
But Red's been independent for far too long to get tied up again, especially when William not only wants her soul, but heart as well.
Can be read as a standalone adult fairy tale romance.
Joanna Mazurkiewicz was born in Poland. She moved to United Kingdom when she was only nineteen and just finished high school. She had aspired to be a writer upon completion of the Harry Potter series but also enjoyed reading books like ‘Gone with the Wind’, ’Animal Farm’ and ‘The doll’. She graduated from Swansea University with a bachelor degree in American Studies. While studying in the UK she made a decision to start writing fiction in English. The “Whispers of the Sprite” is her first debut novel and she is currently working on other projects. Joanna lives in Cowbridge, a small town in South Wales near Cardiff with her boyfriend Bruce. She enjoys cycling around Welsh countryside some of which has become the settings in her first series.
Oh my god what a book! This book was so good. Extremely well-written and had a wonderful plot. This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone. But I will do suggest reading the first book as well.
This is Pamela's story or red is she's known to most. You guessed it this is Red Riding Hood. And how she met the alpha King. And unfortunately has she met and Evil Highwaymen. But red is stubborn she wants to be independent if she doesn't want to man to control her. And that's what she's worried is she commits to William. But William won't give up so easily. He's determined to save her from The Highwaymen. And whatever it takes to make sure she is his. As for him he would do anything for her love. Let's just hope he's in time to save her.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too
This little book is packed with action as we're introduced to two more of the magical races that inhabit this world and all the tensions that exist between them. It's a very fast read with lots of fight scenes and plenty of steamy encounters. The chemistry between Red and William is off the charts. It doesn't matter if they're fighting or... not, the sparks are constantly flying between them. I adored Grandmother Ruby. the feisty senior citizen was one of my favorite parts of the story. It took me while to get past the macho jerk words that are the first things we hear William say and learn to like him. Red's overly independent nature drove me batty, especially when she kept putting herself in harms way simply because she refused to ask for or accept help. I love that Martha makes a return appearance in this book and she sort of gets to repeat her performance as a fairy godmother. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This story sees the characters from book 1 going on a holiday. This causes problems in the kingdom.
Highwaymen take over and start extorting money from businesses and kidnapping people. Blaming everything on werewolves.
Red friend of Cindy, doesn't want to pay her hard earned money to them, but threats and accidents make her change her mind. Soon she finds herself in a world of trouble and only the King of werewolves, the Alpha can save her.
They met with several hard challenges before their ending.
The characters are great, but the story got a bit gross in some places. Also inconsistencies with terms used did take the shine of the story. Taverns and horse drawn carriages say one era but then a cape is being unzipped. Struck me as odd. I was also less keen on the terms used for the sex scenes. They were of the modern time not really fitting.
Overall it was a good read but not as good as the first one.
I love Joanna Mazurkiewicz's books. They are absolutely amazing. I love the how she takes childhood stories and turns them into something more. Cindy's story was amazing in every way and Red's story is no exception. This is beautifully written and the I love the cover to the book. Red is an superb character. She is strong and proud. She is very determined and independent She will make you wish you could be her. LOL. William and Red have such hot chemistry and it is explosive. They will burn the "pages" of the book. LOL, I loved this book and didn't want to put it down until you reached the end. This is defiantly worth reading. I voluntarily review an advance reader copy of this book.
After Cinderella time came for Red, her friend. She has a tavern that się runs with her grandma Ruby. She's fully independent and she doesn't do relationships. One day, some men appear and they want money for their protection. She declines. Some problems start to Begin. She will look for help from Alpha King only Man that would be able to help her. And he is handsome. What will happen with tension that grew between them as she is a girl that doesn't do relationships? Will he manage to get her Heart? I liked it, it would be 5s if Red wouldn't do that much involvement with that many Men.
Description: Alpha King - Adult FairyTale, Red Riding Hood Book #2 William - Alpha King, hot, arrogant werewolf Robin One Eye - Highwayman Ruby - Grandmother An adult twist on a old fairytale that is well crafted with a enchanting plot & dynamic characters. The chemistry between Red & William is sexy & sultry. With a well blended set of supporting characters that accentuate the manuscript. Grandma Ruby is the best character. A bewitching tale that is brimming with action & adventure. A wity read that I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
The adult Red Riding hood and oh my. This story is awesome. Where the classic story was wonderful as a child, this story is absolutely wonderful as an adult. Ruthless highwaymen, steamy wolf shifter and Red. I don't want to tell you what the story is about because I want you to be as surprised as I was waiting for what happened next, but I binged this story from the beginning through the end because I wanted to see what happened along the way and how it ended. I definitely recommend this as a great little vacation from reality.
This book is an adult version of Red Riding Hood. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to read more! Red falls for William the werewolf after being very stubborn headed. But the story is great. I could read this book again!!!! Definitely worth taking time to read. I received this book free in an exchange for an honest review!
I’ve lost track of how many books I’ve read from author Joanna Mazurkiewicz I started reading The Ice King and realized I hadn’t read The Alpha King so I went and read it first. A very good read, as is everything from this author, well written and enjoyable. A somewhat twisted retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale.
Uh. Modern, fantasy setting with too much modern vernacular. And showers. I just...I did not enjoy it. But you know you have to gawk at train wrecks. Setting is confusing and POV changes made it difficult to follow. Also felt like I was reading some bad attempt at FanFiction by a 12 year old. The only thing adult is the mention of sex, lady parts called lady parts, and alternate names for male genitalia. I regret reading this.
Like I said by the previous one I like fairytale, adult one also but it was not for me. I know there are some of you who will rate this one 5 but sorry for me ist stil a 2.5⭐️

Good book some dirty scenes that are worth reading ;) it’s about red who owns a tavern with her granny and faces challenges throughout the story. I would recommend it, It can be read as a standalone that’s what I did and I’m satisfied with the ending. Has 168 pages so it is read relatively fast.
Another fast paced read. I liked Red’s character, feisty and independent. Plus William really works well with her. Their romance together feels well earned.
I would've given it more if it wasn't for the infuriating heroin. She just didn't set well with me I mean come on the Alpha king wants you as his mate but you refuse to be and prefer to have casual sex with him instead because one of his species could or couldn't be responsible of your parent's death, news flush we don't stop having relationships with humans because one killed another, just get over it not all people are the same or in this case werewolves are the same. So Red's been hurt before who hasn't. Hated the heroin's reactions to pretty much everything in this book could've enjoyed it more if Red who claims to be open minded and dependent would step down from her high horse and get slammed in the head with some logic and figure that being in a relationship doesn't mean sacrificing your independence and your nature it just means shearing it with that significant other.
