"Arise Awake and Stop not til the goal is reached"
Vivekananda left a body of philosophical works (see Vivekananda's complete works). His books (compiled from lectures given around the world) on the four Yogas (Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga) are very influential and still seen as fundamental texts for anyone interested in the Hindu practice of Yoga. His letters are of great literary and spiritual value. He was also considered a very good singer and a poet.By the time of his death, He had composed many songs including his favorite Kali the Mother. He used humor for his teachings and was also an excellent cook. His language is very free flowing. His own Bengali writings stand testimony to the fact that he believed that words - spoken or written - should be for making things easier to understand rather than show off the speaker or writer's knowledge.

A compilation of quotes of the Great Swami Vivekananda. Each quote was worth a meditation. And at times that is exactly what I did. I read the quote and contemplated about the relevance of the quote in my daily activities and how does it or does it not ring true in my life experiences. A very good book for mental exercise.
I usually don't like quote books. They remind me of textbooks. Also I read the Kindle edition which was really bad. That is the real reason why I gave this a 3 star. The alignment was all wrong and photos which were added, I presume, to enhance the appearance were not clear or at times not even visible.
I would recommend reading a full book of Swami Vivekananda rather than this one. This is an advice I also would hope to follow in the future.
Swami Vivekananda was a great Hindu monk and philosopher. He truly put forward the ideas of religion and 'bhakti'. This book contained some of the most famous philosophical quotes of Swami Vivekananda. His quotes were really influential, philosophical, and religious.
Most of the quotes in this book were good. Some weren't as nice as the ones which i liked, but overall, this book was inspiring. I am going to write three of the quotes of Swami Vivekananda which I really liked.
" If you want to live your life, you have to die every moment for it. Life and death are only different expressions of the same thing"
"Experience is the only teacher we have. We may talk and reason all our lives we shall not understand a word of truth until we experience it ourselves."
"In the world take always the position of the giver. Give everything and look for no return."
This review is solely for the kindle edition of this book. It is horrible. The pictures don't display. The formatting all wrong. It takes away the pleasant reading experience that should come with a spiritual book like this. But you can muscle through this, if the words are all you care about rather than the finnese of the book. Collection of quotes is quite good, would have appreciated contemporary language for better understanding.
Lacks finesse and professional touch. There are so many books out there of Swami Vivekananda's quotes, and if you are choosing to be the writer/composer of one of them, you ought to be better than the others. Didn't feel the energy and enthusiasm while going through the quotes. I left this one in the midway, as there's one quote by Swami Vivekananda himself - there are plenty of books to read, choose wisely where to spend your time.
Content was good and inspiring no doubt about that. However the book was not readable from Kindle or Kindle cloud reader. The words were all flying around

Greatness of this stature is perceptible to mist ordinary people, as the dream vision of Buddha seen by a Chinese emperor would exemplify - he woke up and sent for his minister to ask about this golden God, risen West, whom he'd seen and asked if the minister knew about it. Thus came the conversion of the emperor and his realm, after his envoy had returned from India.
As for the book, well compiled, with several of his sayings immediately lifting one and reassuring that one could always find a refuge here. But then, this is true of his very being - to see a photograph, to be in the presence at a spot known for him, is to experience presence of Divine that he was.
Quoting, one could a great deal, but best read the book. ................................................................................................ ................................................................................................
Swami Vivekananda's vision and thoughts are really thoughtful and inspiring, some of the words really touch you and you feel that how wrongly you are lively this life. If you are young age there is still time for you to improve and follow the right path which your heart tells and not by seeing or listening to others and if you are old aged then think about ur past actions and try to correct those actions in your present life and be a good person what you always want to be.
Nice and inspiring thoughts. A very quick read. Some of thought provoking thoughts of Swami Vivekananda jee in the book. Downside of the book is it has more pictures than thoughts of Swami Jee. The page could have been better utilized if more thoughts were included from his collective work. Another problem in the book is that source is not given after every thoughts, so one can refer it in the original material of complete works.
Inspiring Thoughts by Swami is a collection of 100 thoughts. The thoughts are inspiring, motivating, making you do something great for your society, your country.
The thoughts in this book are of wisdom and focus more on the importance of dharma & karma. This is a short book but is more important that you shouldn't miss it.
It won't take more than half an hour to read this book.
This just might be a compilation of Swami Vivekananda's thoughts, but in being so, it also is a compilation of the most beautiful and poetic thoughts. I read it in a sitting and saved most of the thoughts to my notes. As described, his words flow freely, like a cool and calming gush of stream - of bliss and enlightenment.
I would love to leave my favourite thought from the book here,
“Truth can be stated in a thousand different ways, Yet each one can be true.”

This is not a book for complete read. Take a a inspiring quote and read it again and again, you will get new perspective every single time along with your life.
I think, if a person read the book after every decade, that person will different perspective about his/her life.
A must have book for all those who wish to start their day with confidence. Just randomly pick any page & one will stumble upon great wisdom uttered by the great legend. Marking this as finished is just for the sake of keeping track of my reading trends, but real learning will happen only when I revisit this book frequently and try to follow at least few of the things mentioned by Swamiji.
A collection of a 100 inspirational quotes of Swami Vivekananda. A spiritual soldier, a multi-disciplinary scholar, a wandering monk and orator par excellence are some of the adjectives that best describe Swami Vivekanand who spent his life in search of truth and God.He and his works still stand as an inspiration and motivation for youngsters and the rest alike.
We are in that era where we need more thoughts to make our life better. It's take less than 30 min to finish this book and worth for life. Day to day life require thoughts to pump ourselves. Worth to have this book and I'm gonna to read each day.
"Even the greatest fool can accomplish a task if it were after his or her heart But the intelligent ones are those who can convert every work into one that suits their taste"
Swamiji has concentrated the crux of spirituality in these few words. Even if one can inculcate only one of his quotes it will bring about a great difference in one's life.
