FBI Special Agent Vesper Cross, is partial to men with a big gun🍌.....When she gets in an arm wrestling match with a big man at the deli over a sandwich, she actually sees a big 🔫gun in a holster under his arm. He notices the custom piece🔫 she's hiding under her coat, too.

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review
Oh my Alice I always KEEP thinking I'm not going to like each characters any better than the ones I had last read, but heck I actually do feel like that FBI Agent Vesper Cross & ex Delta Force chum come Contractor Horse are 2, to be reckoned with.
Especially considering their 1 night of VERY HOT Sleepless Night of amazing sex & it MUST'VE been something unbelievable, considering as the very next afternoon she's the one person who answers the call about shots near by do she goes & she feels like she KNOWS he didn't commit any wrong doing & didn't feel worried, as she trusted her colleagues. She then tried to get to see Horse BEFORE he TOOK a deal, BUT wouldn't lots of people who's just met & sc***ed the night before NO MATTER HOW HOT & MEMORABLE it is, would not want to see them.
So jump 5 yrs, he's ALL she's ever been thinking about & he likewise BUT for the complete opposite reasons.
Then Horse had been out 2 days when El Guapo te one & same ego rang who gave him the last diabolical job to do another & here Horse decides to go in & asks The Contracted Russian Mob head, why when things start going down & who is the ONE & ONLY person does he feel like he can TRUST in this SITUATION & oh boy what a situation it becomes, when they see THAT BOTH of them have been CONTRACTED TO BE KILLED & god the thrill & tension of each & every turn they take is EXCITING & leaving you breathless in each & EVERY SENSE.
IF I COULD I'D MARK THIS OVER A 5*

This opposite sides of the line attraction is an action packed detailed read with the witty banter I look forward to in Alice May Ball's work. Sex appeal, stubbornness, and frustration seemed to walk together through the pages of these creatively written saga as well... Horse is just that- a work horse for the mafia- when he runs into the Spitfire, agent Vesper in a Deli who's ordering the same sandwich as him all bets are off with the women who should be off limits. Vesper knows mixing it up with the mob is the dumbest thing she could do, but she cannot help herself. These two are about to find, whatever reasons brought them together, they are going to need each other, whether they like it or not.
Fast paced, kept me wanting to know more, I could not help but be frustrated with them both when I realized things they had not yet! ( one of those I am cursing at my kindles because that would help somehow ) White Hot scenes are intertwined throughout the pages, with some heart string tugging moments added to the above-mentioned action packed madness made for another awesome read I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to others!

What do you get when a criminal mafia babysitter and a straight up follow the rules FBI agent cross paths? A story full of non-stop action and some serious sexy time! I enjoyed the “who can you trust” scenarios that this couple was in. I still have some unanswered questions with parts of the story but they aren’t questions that take anything away from this story. Horse a man for higher, he finds most of his jobs are taking care of the mafia, and he’ll make all your girl parts tingle. Special Agent Vesper Cross is a good girl and believes in the law and her fellow enforcers, but when she meets Horse by accident? she finds a temptation she can’t turn down. These two being so opposite and yet so right for each other makes this story a hard one to put down. I enjoyed the action, the twists, the banter between these two, and or course again the super sexy hot scenes. But will they learn to trust each other? Can they work together as a team? Will one betray the other? These are question that can only be answered if you read the story for yourself.

With only four minutes remaining to get back to the stakeout, Agent Vesper Cross had placed her deli order and was ready to dash back. But a big, beefy arm was reaching out for her sandwich! She claimed the sandwich as hers, but finally gave in and acknowledged that perhaps he did order first. At that point, he handed it to her and said he would join her for lunch. However, she had to get back to work. He asked about her work, having already noticed the concealed gun, and she told him she was in law enforcement – the FBI. With a big grin, he responded that he, too, dealt with enforcement – in his work with the Mafia!
I loved the fast pace and the humor in this book! What an enjoyable rollercoaster ride of craziness! The characters were wonderful and their chemistry was immediately recognized. Their actions put them in a situation where they need to depend on each other. Can these opposites cooperate to untangle the mess they are in? Get a copy of this wonderful book and join in the fun to figure it all out! Another perfect read from this author!

Talk about good cop, bad guy story. It took a couple of chapters to figure out the point of view thing, so things were a little confusing. Once I figured it out everything fell into place. Horse is the perfect bad guy, that is very likable. I really like Vesper and her fight with herself to follow the rules. With a series of misunderstandings things become even more murky for Vesper and Horse. Neither knows what to believe and who they can trust. When all is boiled away they both have each others backs. In my opinion Alice May Ball knows how to write bad guys that are likable and Horse is just that. I can say I love her bad guys stories better than her threesome stories, that is just me. In my opinion wrote a suspenseful, edge of your seat story. In my opinion it's worth taking a look at. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.

An amazing story that you can expect from Alice, intense, dark and humor. When they say opposites attract I am sure that they never thought of this couple being so right for each other. Horse is out of prison and looking for the person that put him there, he is a Hunter and always gets his prey. Vesper is dedicated FBI and one man pushes her off tilt.
An action packed story that keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to know what will happen next. This was one book that you are tempted to read the last chapter to find out "if" it works out.. But I would never do that. What an awesome reward for voluntarily reading a copy for the Author.

This was a fast paced action filled bang bang shoot em up (in many ways eye wiggling inserted here). The book starts off innocently enough but then it's off to the races to stay alive. Lines are blurred and there is no clean distinction between the bad guys and the good guys. Answers are a rare commodity. No one knows who to trust including them but they can't deny the passion, which goes from hot to smoldering at the oddest times for these two. The story is good and the plot is strong and the race is a matter of life or death. This author gives us a sexy action packed read full of deceit, lies, blackmail, betrayal and a whole list of other things in this fast paced read, try to keep up!

Vesper Cross is a special agent of the FBI and one night while doing her job she meets Horse who is an enforcer for the Mafia and exchanges phone numbers and then they meet for a drink then go to her house and have wild night then bag something goes wrong and gets him thorn in jail for something he has not done so he is out now and comes for Vesper and every one is after them one evil man and they are trying to figure out who framed Horse. A very well written book. A must read as far as I am concerned. What a wild ride this one is. She is law enforcement and puts him away for something he doesn't do and when he gets out he comes looking for her. And then what a mess and the adventure gets more interesting than it already is. Adventure, action, suspense, hot and steamy, and so much more. I highly recommend this. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

There were several things about the plot and the characters that I didn't like, and it's not my favorite book by the author. It was interesting, and not bad, just not my top favorite. I mostly just finished it since the author requires a review, otherwise I probably would have gave up midway through since the characters and plot just didn't click with me the way I would have liked. I was gifted a copy.

My favourite book of this series so far , Alice May Ball's characters are so real & might i add hot . Vesper & Horse are on two opposite sides of the law .He has a debt to settle with her but when they meet up again by accident , the power struggle begins with a sandwich. explosive story lines , tons of sexual tension & steamy scenes , enough to satisfy anyones appetite but still keep you wanting more .

Loved it!
This was a dark romance suspense thriller. She is FBI. He does jobs for the mob and is an ex-con. They end up running for their lives when they start asking questions. Everyone was after them including some they trusted. Very fast paced. Very hot love scenes. It will leave you breathless.

Being on opposites sides of the law sure makes for some interesting, magnetic attraction! Horse works for the Mafia, while Vesper is an undercover Federal agent. Loved this fast-paced, sexy read! Horse was one sexy beast. Great read, one you don't want to put down until you're done! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Vesper is a FBI agent falls for a criminal named Horse before she realizes who is is. They fight against the crime families, corrupt police department and corrupt FBI agents to get to the truth. Action all the way through the book with some steamy sex scenes. The story had you wondering who was involved and how high up the chain the corruptness went. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This is a great book horse is a free lanser for the mafia then he meets vespar who is an FBI agent then he went to jail for five years but he blamed vespar he doesn't know that she tried to help him when he gets out they both get on a kill list they work together to clear their names find the people who is the blame they do they fall in love he wants to change to get out of being a criminal

Ok I must say I read the first 3 books of this series and they read the same... all the alpha men were the one and done type and all the woman had balls but fell for the alphas same scenario different scenes so for me they fell flat but as I have to continue to read the series I hope it’s changes up

Oh I so loved this book. I want to be just like Vesper. She is so smart, feisty and can kick some major butt. Wow to be like that would be amazing. Horse just sounds so yummy. I would like to thank you for all of the hot and steamy love scenes. This whole story kept me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for that.

Horse and Vesper certainly have chemistry. The story is slow in parts and I kind of lost focus. It was a decent story line though. Plenty of action once it got going. The writing during the steamy scenes just fell flat for me. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wow I was hooked from beginning to end. The story is fast-paced with plenty of drama, suspense and the sex is off the charts hot. Horse and Vesper are strong characters with steamy chemistry. A very entertaining read.

My first read from Alice May Ball and it was so full of suspense and action that I wasn't able to put it down till I hit the last page. It had a great flow and was easy to get into and the characters are really great.
