(apparently she wasn't getting enough snow in Indiana:)) She is married to a very supportive man, Chip, who allows her to follow her true passion of writing and never complains when she is pirated away on her computer for hours. He even helps with proof-reading and is her “in-house” editor and her idea sounding board. She is also a mother of 4 ornery children who keep her plenty busy. With an addition of 2 beautiful chocolate lab sisters and 2 playful cats, there is never a dull or spare moment in her household.
Krista has always loved to read and would often sit up for hours into the night not able to put down a book until she was finished. She still reads when she can but her main focus is creating her own stories to share with the world.

Beta's Mark Anthology
Beta Trials by Gracie Meadows
Fabulous read! Wilder is called back to the place where he grew up, his friend Rowdy needs his help and growing up he was one of the only shifters that never saw him as different. But when Rowdy finds out Wilder’s secret will he accept him or ask him to leave? As danger strikes close to home Wilder and Rowdy will need to have each other back if they are to protect the pack.
Protective Instinct by Khloe Wren
Protective Instinct is a great addition to the Fire and Snow series. Connor and his family have already been through so much so will he be able to hold it together long enough when it is his wife and unborn child that are missing.
A Lion’s Claim by Sydney Lea
I really enjoyed this story. I found Cameron and Hailey great characters and would very much like to see this expended at some stage and turned into a series.
Megan’s Mate by Tamsin Baker
Megan’s Mate is an enjoyable read with great characters. Tortured and defeated Lucas Noll has been continually abused by his pack the one that was meant to protect him. So when he meets the beautiful, confident Megan how will he react especially when he knows the mark on her is the same as the one cut from him.

Beta’s Mark is a multi-author anthology filled with 9 different tales of Beta’s, those sexy males who are second to the alpha, but no less weak. 9 authors have taken on the task of showing us just how strong, powerful, and sexy these betas are.
I picked up this anthology because I love shifter romance, and I also recognized some of the names listed. I also enjoy reading new authors to see if I can find new favorites. In general, I enjoyed the entire book and thought the selection of authors was well done!
My favorite stories were Beta Trials by Gracie Allen, where Liger Rowdy Allen comes home to help his friend, who is an alpha. He ends up fighting his feeling for his friend’s baby sister, Harper.
A Lion’s Claim by Sydney Lea has new beta Cameron Murdock pining for new shifter Hailey James, but she has no clue that she’s a shifter.
And Paxson-Call of the Beta by Krista Ames has a beta named Paxon linking up to a human that is his. He moves in to her getaway cabin to protect her.
The rest of the book was enjoyable as well, and I highly recommend it.

What a fantastic box set!!!!
Beta Trials
Wilder being a liger doesn't fit into a pride of lions. But when he's called back to his old pride he finds the little girl he used to be so protective of is all grown up and sexy to boot. A short and sweet story showing that just because you don't fit in according to one person that's not set in stone.
Megan's Mate
Megan is an alpha female, and high up since her brother is one of the ruling alphas. And she's on the hunt for her mate. Assuming she's going to be mated with another alpha she's shocked at her feelings for a beta from another clan and all the problems that suddenly entails.
Egyptian Destiny
DNF - I just could not get into this story. I really tried but it just wasn't something that sucked me in.
A Lions Claim
This is short story is fast and action packed right from the get go. Hailey and Cameron are just made for each other. Hailey doesn't even know she's a shifter before she's abruptly thrown into their world and Cameron's.
Protected by the Beta
Woken abruptly from sleep with the feeling that nothing is right Havens story starts with a bang. And doesn't stop there. Essex and Havens story is shrouded is secrets that made the story that much more interesting to read.
Night Falls
This story started out great. A mystery animal attacking people. I was really getting into the story. But then it just sort of ended, it felt like it was unfinished to me.

I have always loved stories about Alphas and their mates but one story I have always loved was about a pack's Beta and how he found his mate , now we have this whole anthology to the second in command, and how he is overlooked but just as strong as the Alpha. We have 9 authors who let us see what their Betas go through and I loved every word!!
Bethany Shaw is the only author I knew when I started these but now I have 8 more authors I get to read more from.
