Toby’s meddling family still want to stir the pot and mess things up for the happy couple.
And with cheating rumors and misunderstandings, they might just succeed in tearing the devoted lovers apart.
Great reads. Each book was so different but outstanding. SPOILER ALERT THROUGHOUT THE FIVE BOOKS. 1. A New Start: Andrea and Michael. Michael, living the life of luxury and messing around with every woman and spending the family money. No cares until his dad died and he now must take over. The board gives an ultimatum, settle down or they will take over. 2. Her Convenient Russian Marriage: Jordan Hill had a tough child-teen-adult life. He got pregnant at 15, her parents kicked her out, she lived on the streets until Social Services found her and put her in a home for unwed mothers. He was an excellent student, even after having her daughter, putting herself through college and because a Russian translator at the US Embassy. Dimitri Vladikov needs to speak English better and Jordan and her daughter Shayna are transported to Russia to help Dimitri. Dimitri feel in love with Jordan and Shay…there were some ups and downs but the ending is beautiful! I cried throughout this book! 3. Marrying the Billionaire Church Man. Great and touching read. Loved Leah and Paul’s characters. Leah, growing up without a mother, her father did everything for her, including letting her spread her wings. I felt sorry for her father, he never remarried and when Leah moved for her job, he was all alone. But he had great faith and even in death trusted the Lord to guide Leah to a God fearing husband….and that man was Paul. I cried so hard when Leah went back to her home after the funeral. And when Gladys died. She had taught Leah so much. Wonderful! 4. The Anniversary. Prejudice at it’s worse. Toby’s family never got over him marrying Simone and then having Black children. His brother Mike, on their upcoming anniversary, every year, plans something sinister and this year he succeeded in getting Toby jealous by lying that Simone was seeing someone. Simone was guilty of planning a special anniversary for him. Unfortunately, because of Mike’s plan, Simone and their oldest son Carl would spend it unconscious, with broken bones and head injuries…in the hospital for weeks. I cried on this one! Mike and his cohorts got 20-25 years in prison and Carl’s so called girlfriend got 8 years for luring him to that park! Toby cut of all communication with his family for their part in that incident. No dry eyes for me! 5. The Asian Billionaire’s Black baby. This was a really great read. Liwei and Savannah fell in love to the detriment of Savannah’s best friend Jiji. You can’t help who you love and if that person loves you. And that’s the way it was with Liwei and Savannah. Jiji felt that because her and Liwei worked together first (platonically) that he should have chosen her…but she took it out on Savannah, not speaking to her. In the end, with the baby coming and the wedding, Jiji decided that Liwei loved Savannah, no matter the custom. The heart wants what the heart wants!
I gave the four stars to A New Start, Her Convenient Russian Marriage and the Asian Billionaires' Black Baby (Although the title of this last one is wholly cringe-worthy.) I researched several places and books mentioned in the Russia based story. A fascinating look into a world I rarely give more than a passing thought to with the exception of the whole lore around Rasputin. I will be changing that. In a New Start it was very entertaining to see Michael slay those pre-conceived notions about his competence and in The Asian Billionaire.....I loved both the peek into such a different culture and a heroine with such an unusual profession and some backbone. As for Marrying Her Billionaire Church Man and The Anniversary...I've got nothing..😕 I couldn't get past the descriptions...I was that bored. But overall I'm glad I got the series.👍
I love the stories in this book. I truly couldn't put it down. But my favorite story was Her Convenient Russian Marriage I loved Jordan and what she stand for. She wanted the best for her daughter and jumped and did it!!! And Dimitri is a knight in shiny armor!!! Even though she is you Shay has a good head on her shoulder and you can't help buy admire her.
I enjoyed all the stories in this book! I'm so happy that I decided to purchase it. All the characters in each story were unique in their own ways still hard to believe though some people still have such prejudices even in this day and age there's just no changing some people! No matter how hard you may try there will always be ignorance among some! The best thing you can do is continue to live your own life no matter what!
Love that it's clean. Andrea could be pretty harsh which I wasn't into. Michael wasn't bad. Their conversations after they were married was a bit annoying, i.e. constantly saying darling (do people still call their partner that these days- serious question). I felt the story went on too long with too much detail. I was wondering when it would be over.
Her Convenient Russian Marriage- Dimitri and Jordan
I did like the story. Shay was my favorite character and I realized I started to care more about her than Jordan and Dimitri. I skipped a lot of their parts (way too much detail) and I guess I lost interest. But I started to like it at the end, especially when Shay was talking to her friends about how she felt about their situation. I did like how Dimitri was with Shay. How they interacted was cute and was the best part of the story to me. I didn't like that in the beginning of their story there was so much detail into Jordan's backstory. I felt that should have been intertwined more with the current story.
Marrying Her Billionaire Church Man- Paul and Leah
I wasn't too into this story, it actually aggravated me. I also felt it wasn't necessarily Christian (labeled as such in the description), because there are many things in it that are contrary to scripture (2 Corinthians 6:14 is one scripture it contradicts). And I also hated how Paul was like he got confirmation from Gladys (about being with Leah)...umm aren't you supposed to get your confirmation from God? What type of minister is this? And don't y'all come for me saying this is just a story. This is very prevalent in the church and is totally contrary to what the Word of God says. So all in all, I didn't like this book because of that (twisting the Word to make it fit what you want it to fit or ignoring what the Word says because of how you feel). And I felt it dragged on and was wondering when it would end (I skipped a lot because I was losing interest). Some may feel I'm a bit harsh with my review, but I immediately hold anything that's labeled "Christian" to a higher standard. Sorry, not sorry.
The Anniversary- Toby and Simone
It was cute, but I felt the story was all over the place. In the description it only talks about them, so I am surprised when there is a lot about Carl and what he's going through. That should have been in the description, especially since about half of the story is about him. It wasn't my favorite because of all the jumping back and forth. It was interesting (still skipped around a lot though). I will admit that I did like the characters in this book. Each character was very believable and realistic.
The Asian Billionaire's Black Baby- Savannah and Liwei
This was my least favorite. I skipped around a lot. Honestly, it was boring in my opinion. I actually wanted to read more about JiJi. It would have been entertaining if their were fights and arguments between them (Jiji and Savannah).
I'd say Her Convenient Russian Marriage was the one I liked the best. Honestly these books weren't totally about romance to me and I felt some of the couples just moved way too fast. At least it was only 99 cents for all 5 books, so that's not so bad. I will say that I loved that all the books were clean and left things to the imagination. Can't say that I recommend this since I only really liked one of the stories. So either you can just buy this or buy the individual book themselves. Hope my review is helpful.
