Abby Meyers runs the UPS Store on River's End Ranch, and she does a very good job of it, too. Even when it means that she has to interact with people, and that's unfortunate because sometimes people are just . . . too people-y. And that includes Reggie Armstrong, who probably skips through rainstorms wearing bright galoshes and handing out lollipops. He's just too happy, and Abby finds that incredibly annoying.
Reggie Armstrong can't put his finger on it, but there's something about Abby that intrigues him. The more he gets to know her and discover the layers beneath her crusty exterior, the more he likes the tender woman inside. And then a chance gift cracks everything wide open, and there just might not be enough duct tape to put it all back together again.
But with a little nudge from the fairies, maybe everything will turn out exactly how it was meant to ...
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
It was a good book, the characters were mild, compared to the craziness that it's usual in the series. Abby's character was a little over the top, she kept a crazy dialog in her mind, and her actions were more normal. Reggie has a very different view of the world, he is always positive, and at first that annoyed Abby, but once she let her walls down and gave him a chance, things advanced really fast. Abby did a lot to protect herself, but once she let him in, they got they fell for each other fast. In the world of River's End Ranch, it was a pretty easy relationship.
Abby isn’t what one would call a “people person”. No, she likes a few, very few specific members of the species, but for the most part people annoy her for one reason or another. It’s hard to avoid them since she does run the UPS store, otherwise known as the Post Office in Old West Town at River’s End Ranch Resort… but that doesn’t mean she has to like that fact. Reggie, one of the numerous people who live on or near the ranch as employees is one of those people that for some unknown reason seems to push those famous buttons of Abby’s. He’s always been nice, never rude or nasty, she just can’t seem to let him in to her inner circle of people she’d like. And that’s too bad, because Reggie has been thinking nice thoughts about Abby for some time now… if only sh’d give him a chance.
Sometimes it’s the silliest of things that can change a life. Like letting Reggie help her, and then “owing” him a return favor. Simple, but it’s a start to a building block full of firsts for this couple. And soon Abby will be wondering how she could have not seen what an amazing guy Reggie truly is… after a few times helping with pranks, an emotional reunion and the help of the faeries…
I liked Reggie and Abby. They fit and sometimes you simply have to keep looking until you find that person who fits. Abby’s been through a lot in her short life, some pains that many of us can never truly understand. Her past has shaped her, and in order to move on she has to face parts of that past and find some sense of moving beyond what was. Reggie is perfect to help her realize all that is waiting for her, she just had to start letting those pesky humans into her life a bit more.
I’d recommend this story or any one from this entertaining series. You’ll find likable characters, a great base of consistent characters and simply a really good story every single time. It’s hard to ask for more than that.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Part of a Series: bk23 Setting: Idaho at the Ranch Hero: Reggie- works at the Ranch mostly with the trails and handyman Heroine: Abby- Works at the ranch in the “post office” which is an UPS store. Characterization: 5* - strong plot/storyline: 5.* - sweet Ending- A good HEA: 4.5* - Different (not the usual engagement or marriage) but for them any promise of marriage would be wrong, due to their personalities, and what she has gone through. I hope to read more about them in future novels (an epilogue taken 10yrs in future would of been nice:) ) How much I enjoyed it: 5* Overall rating: 5* -
This is a book about healing and finding yourself. Abby and Reggie both work on the ranch. Reggie just rubs Abby the wrong way but she is trying to be kind and agrees to a date. This book, of course, includes the best Big Foot story yet. It's a fun and emotional story but you will love it. I found myself giggling a lot.
This is the quintessential Rivers End Ranch novel. I laughed and cried. Reggie, Annie, Jaclyn and the web Westin clan are represented in this well written heartfelt romance. This is the only modern romance series I read and each book makes we want to move to the ranch! Amelia Adams gets a 10 out of 10 on this one.
This is a short book but it pulls you into the magic of Rver's End Ranch. Who doesn't want to find that special place with people who support and love you as you struggle with lifes problems. There is also a touch of humor that keeps your heart smiling throughout the book. A great escape!
Great story to add to the RER series! Especially liked Kelsi's input (don't want to spoil it)! I have read this series since the beginning and enjoy the layers of each new book!
I love the River's End Series, but probably only the fairies could explain it. ☺ This one is fun and it's worth the time just to find out what's up with Gorgeous George. If none of that means anything to you I suggest starting at book 1 and enjoy the ride.
Another wonderful book in the River's End Ranch series. Abby wasn't sure she even liked Reggie. Just something about him set her on edge. Reggie was attracted to Abby but unsure about asking her out. Great characters and storyline. Just seemed to end abruptly.
Throughout this series, Kelsie has taken lots of guff from her siblings about her obsession with Big Foot. As part of this book, she gets back at them in a BIG way! The story of Abby from the UPS store is one of discovery and healing.
Abby was being brave when she decided to look into her pass and finally saying yes to Reggie for a date. Reggie patience and good humor helped him a lot. Then he found the book that Abby wanted.
Abbie's story is great. She seems like a real person: self doubt, dislike of herself, denial of what she sees in the mirror, etc. She had a great friend, Heidi, who tries to get her to see the truth. Then Reggie comes along. Lots of great surprises in this story!
What a great read! Lots of great fun, as well as great wisdom to apply to 'how we do life'. I could read it again all over, I enjoyed it do much. Left me on a definite high. Thank you!!!
The character development was good. They felt like real people. The story was predictable. Their were some pieces in the book that could have made the book better.
I love Amelia Adams! She is one of my favorite authors. I can not get enough of her stories!!! Keep up the good work I look forward to reading more from you 😁
I enjoyed reading this book. Abbie and Reggie help Kelsey play a trick on Wade and the rest of the family. They set up things in the mountain like Bigfoot.
I enjoyed this story even though it took me awhile to finish. The characters in this series are very real and you feel !like they could be your friends
Abby and Reggie are complete opposites and this leads to numerous laugh out loud interactions between them. There are not the instant sparks that some of the other River's End couples have, but that made the 'falling' even sweeter when it happens.
I love Abby and her frustrations with people who are just 'too people-y' - pure River's End gold!
Once you start this series there is no escape.....unless you are escaping daily life to join them on River's End Ranch again. I love it please keep this crazy series going and going.
