Kandi Steiner is a USA Today and #1 Amazon Bestselling Author living in Tennessee. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. Her love for writing started at the ripe age of 10, and in 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.”

She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a hopeless romantic and found herself bursting at the seams with love stories she was eager to tell.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, planning her next adventure, or pole dancing (yes, you read that right). She enjoys live music, traveling, hiking, yoga, spending quality time with her family (fur babies included) and soaking up the sweetness of life.

things got a little more serious in this installment but i’m still impressed with the author’s ability to capture a fairly accurate (if slightly dramatized) look at college life

Because this book is a continuation of the series, I recommend that you read my review for the first book to get a feel of the overall tone of PSU.

The things I adored about Rush are still present and just as amazing in this installment. I find it so refreshing to read a book in a tv episode format with multiple POVs. Can we start a petition for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, or Passionflix to pick this up as an actual show? I would LOVE to see this get brought to life on my television screen. These books are out-of-this-world unique, drama-filled, and angsty so I know that they would make for great show binging.

My favorite thing about this book? The friendships. I feel like Rush was focused on introducing us to the characters, their background, and personalities. It also focused more on romantic relationships – a lot of forbidden, steamy relationships. In Anchor, we got to witness the friendships that were talked about in the first book instead of a character telling us about them. The bond that some of these characters share make me downright envious. I’m looking at you Bear and Skylar!

Don’t get me wrong, though. This is a Kandi Steiner book, so it isn’t all heartwarming and happy. Anchor definitely packs a punch when it comes to evoking emotion. There is a lot of sensitive/triggering topics that occurs that made me super emotional and slightly uncomfortable. There is also a couple, that isn’t quite a couple, that delivers Kandi’s signature angst. You better bet I was talking to my kindle screen on multiple occasions to give these fictional characters a piece of my mind. I’m looking at you Cassie and Adam!

It isn’t surprising to me that there is a huge fan group dedicated to just this series. It is really diverse and deals with real hard-hitting topics that occurs on college’s campuses across the US. While it may be exaggerated for an impactful read, it is still realistic. Kandi can put her take on anything and make it something special. The PSU series just happens to be something extra special.

I highly recommend this series to new adult romance lovers.

After flying through book one of this series, I was dying to get back to my beloved characters from PSU. So much drama went down in season one and I couldn't wait to see them take on Spring Break!

I'm not going to give a synopsis here since this is the second book to the series, but I can tell you that this book is all about Greek life and taking on Spring Break. Our characters make some more good (and bad) choices in their lives and spend a lot more time discovering who they are and who they want to be.

Just like last book, I definitely had some favorite characters and couples I was rooting for and I loved watching all of the relationships grow and change in this book. It's hard when new characters enter into the mix and threaten ships that I am OBSESSED with. But that's life! I enjoyed how some friendships were tested, especially when some characters did things that were truly unforgivable. Some secrets came to light in this book that blew up these characters' lives.

Like I said, there was a lot of growth among the characters and some went through some pretty drastic changes based on what they went through in this book. Since this is season 2 and second semester, that means that by the end of the book, a whole school year of college has passed since we first met these characters. So much happened within that one year and characters like Cassie, Erin, Ashei, and Jess...okay so most of our main characters…all changed in some way. I also appreciated how this series deals with a lot of sensitive issues that are very present on college campuses; not everything is sunshine and rainbows and partying.

Overall, this was a FABULOUS, addicting, and heart-wrenching addition to the PSU series. I got more of my favorite characters and watched them grow through the highs and lows of college. If you love an addicting series with plenty of hookups, but also more serious, caring friendships, you have to pick up this series!

Release Date: July 16, 2017
Genre: College Romance. New Adult.

Drama, lies, betrayal - this book has it all! I read the season 1 box set last year and was completely addicted to the stories, the characters, and all the juicy things going on. But then I forgot about it because I didn't see any sort of release details for the second season box set (this one). So when a fellow reader posted about it on their GR I knew I had to dive in! Everything from season 1 came all back to me and I felt like I NEEDED this set to breathe! So I dropped other books I have been meaning to read to dive into this one. Lucky for me, it did NOT disappoint! I had a blast with these stories- oh the drama!- and I love how the author made it feel like I was at Palm South University with frat brothers and sorority sisters. This is the epitome of a college romance/drama novel! All the characters from season 1 are back at it again in this installment and it was so much fun revisiting with them and getting to know them all over again. Note: you NEED to read the fist season box set to understand this one. It's all the same characters, and NOT a standalone .

In this season, we go back to Palm South University with Bear, Cassie, Erin, Skylar, Adam, Ashlei, and Cassie. Each have their own story-lines which are told in alternating POV's within the series. For Bear, the man who never really wanted to settle down, he finds a girl that just may be worth being in a relationship. But then racism issues come into play knocking his world for a tailspin. There is definitely some sex in his story line, and it sure is sexy! Erin , the good girl who likes to study hard, has to deal with some serious issues within the story- issues that are likely to change the course of her entire life. I won't say what these issues are, but they are real! Skylar is another main player, who, despite being a major badass in the poker world, is dealing with the onslaught of paparazzi and drama in her own life. Cassie is stuck in the middle, she doesn't know who to love, to to be with etc. etc. Adam is dealing with his own issues as he is trying to both run for frat presidant AND make someone see his feelings. Last but not least, Ashlei - my favorite of the bunch, is trying to find her way and sort through her feelings for another girl.... What will happen with each of them? You'll have to read to find out!

As I mentioned above, this series is the epitome of a college romance/drama novel. It's hot, juicy, and filled to the brim with likable and realistic college characters. I would LOVE to see these seasons actually play out on TV. Someone, make this happen STAT!!!! It would be so perfect.

Anchor was just as quick of a read as Rush and I'm very glad I discovered this series because I'm really enjoying it so far! However, while I found every character's POV equally interesting in the first book, I was a bit less interested in some of their stories this time around which is why I'm only giving this part three stars.

Overall thoughts on Anchor:

- Jess would’ve gotten punched in the mouth for what she did to Bo and Ashlei…..BUT she did redeem herself when it came to helping Ashlei out of her situation.

- Adam be wanting have his cake and eat it too, and I’m happy Cassie chose Grayson for now. Even though I want Adam and Cassie to be end game, Adam gotta work for it😂

- ERIN😭😭😭😭. I’m not sure how much more she can take!!! Definite trigger warnings for rape, my heart goes out to her. Bear handled it so beautifully and I love seeing these two bond during the series.

- Bear and his brother were so cute!!

- Loved that Jarrett and Jess are serious.

- Shawna, don’t let the door HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT. Trigger warnings for racism, and I’m happy Bear realized he deserved better.

- Unpopular opinion, I’m happy Bo is gone cause I didn’t like her and Ashlei together. I know Bo was in the closet but she didn’t seem like she was gone stand up to her parents and that’s exactly what happened since she moved schools.

- Formal was held at a plantation and I just hate when plantations are still used as event spaces given their history with slavery. It may seem like a small thing but it bothered me, personally.

- I still want to continue learning more about Skyler and her poker tournaments, now that’s she getting well-known.

- WHO IS THIS KIP PERSON?

I’m ready for the next book now 😂

After adoring Rush, the first book in Kandi Steiner’s Palm South University series, I was desperate to dive into the second book. I was ready for more of the fun and emotion that hooked me so much in the first book, and I was not disappointed by what Anchor gave.

As with the first book in the series, Anchor is more than just a romance story. It’s an addictive read that gives a deep insight into all that goes on in college life, sucking you into the drama and emotions that are experienced. We get to see the highs and the lows, we get to see the laughter and the tears, and everything sucks you in deeper and deeper.

With Anchor, the story is a bit heavier than it was in Rush. There was still plenty to smile and laugh about, but certain elements were heavy and heart-breaking. This touches more upon the bad that can happen than the first book did, and it has left me desperate to dive into the third book to see what happens to the characters.

Without a doubt, Anchor was a fabulous addiction to the Palm South University series. This one has opened the series up to so much more, and I’m desperate to see everyone get their happy ending.

This book definitely got deeper and darker than the first, but in such a good way! I really love these characters and getting to know them better. This is the 2nd semester of college and the drama that is started in the first book continues to unfold in this one. They also go on Spring Break which reveals all sorts of other things. I did not enjoy the cheating and extreme underage drinking in this one, but I loved seeing characters process through sexuality and abortion issues. I really enjoy this series and think they are addicting reads!

SPOILERS AHEAD:
Cassie- Clay screws her over by sleeping with her high school best friend Paris. She starts dating someone else but then when Adam and Skyler break up, they kiss and start to explore their attraction. She does pull away and in the end maybe ends up with the other guy, but we'll see.
Bear- Bear finds out that his mom and older brother have left his 13 year old brother at home to fend for himself. He's living with friends and comes to visit PSU. They let him play beer pong with fake beer, but he knows the difference so they give up and supply alcohol for a 13 YEAR OLD. I know I'm old and a mom, but this is too much.
Jess-Still hooking up with Jarrett and in this one they start an actual relationship. She is really mad at Ashlei and Bo for hiding their relationship so she plays a part in outing them near the end.
Skyler-Was dating Adam but then they broke up. Winning poker tournaments and becoming famous.
Erin- She sleeps with Bear and gets pregnant and has an abortion. She is heartbroken and guilt ridden after it happens and her storyline made me cry. She gives up alcohol in order to constantly maintain control. On spring break, she and Bear have a confrontation and she still doesn't tell him about the baby, but she leaves and goes back to PSU and finally breaks down and deals with some emotions.
Ashlei-Secretly hooking up with Bo (a girl). Owes a ton of money for a drug deal she was blamed for so she sells drugs on spring break and gets all the money but then loses the backpack that has a lot of it. She goes to tell the drug lord and he threatens her, but then Jess threatens him right back and solves the problem for her. She ends up getting outed for being with Bo and her parents are fine and accepting, but Bo leaves school because her parents are not and she can't deal with the fall out.
Adam- Becomes president of his frat. Wants Cassie.

If you liked 'Season One', aka Rush, you are going to love Anchor!
Anchor is just MORE. It brought MORE angst, MORE drama and MORE surprises around every corner. While we were basically introduced to everyone in Rush, Anchor is all about really diving into this group of characters and experience their love, friendships, hardships and a lot of emotions.

Anchor takes us to spring break and it was filled with everything you would imagine and then some. And some of those antics were brought back to campus with them causing some major tension between some people. I especially loved the friendship of the “sisters”, but there's just one guy that does it for me and I hope he ends up who I want him to end up with. Don't ask. I'm just going to cross my fingers right now.

Anchor not only has the fun of spring break, but Kandi touches on some very serious topics such as racism, rape, sex tapes, drugs, abortion and so much more. But through it all, you get to see this very strong bond between the 7 characters telling the story and you can't help but want more.

I am listening to the audios of these books before they come out and am enjoying them. They aren't always who I would expect from each character, but each narrator is definitely growing on me. I'm excited to see where Season 3 goes. PSU!!!

• Why are you guys so goddamn stubborn? holy sh*t, man.
F*cking hell *face palm*
Bear, ILYSM!
• Erin, baby girl, let me hug you and shield you from this evil f*cked up world.

I'm so excited and nervous as hell to find out what happens next in season 3.

Loved it, devoured it.

Picks up where Season 1 left off and man, when I stop and think about it we deal with some heavy issues this season, which is awesome. And angst, oh there is angst between Clinton and Erin, Cassie and Adam, Jess and Jarrett. Be still my little angst loving heart. I have come to enjoy all of these characters and can not wait to catch up with them in Season 3. I love the way Kandi writes this because she doesn't write every little thing that happens, it's seriously like an episode of your fav show. It's like reading reality TV of Laguna Beach meets Real World and I LOVE it!

Kandi en serio???? Ay mi corazón, alma y ser se fueron al cielo después de esa bomba.

Estoy dolida, estoy preocupada. Quiero abrazar a mi hermanas KKB 😂😂.

Aaaaah quiero gritar!!

Ya quiero comenzar el 3er libro. 🥲🥲

First off....I love ALOT of authors and I don't think many others can pull off a tv series format as much as the great kandi stein! She is a genius! Some people wanted more smut! Well if you've read kandi's other books, they aren't ALL sex and I like it that way! She always has a great story line along with the sex. I fell in love with these characters. They each had their own personality and problems and kandi touched on some touchy topics and I love her even more for that!! Seriously y'all!! Kandi is a fricking rockstar! A genius! She's so sweet and spunky! Do I know her personally? No (but I hope that changes in vegas 😊) but I feel like she put a touch of her personality into her characters! This book made me wish I would've went to a sorority. It made me miss the beach, it made me wish I wouldn't have missed out on so much in life and actually LIVED! I can't go on enough what palm south did to me!! GO ONE CLICK NOW!!!

This is an author provided copy. All opinions are solely my own.

Anchor is book 2 of the Palm South University Series by Kandi Steiner. This book really is written like a television show and it works. It makes for a quick and easy read but it is full of content.

This series follows several college kids in various Greek organizations. It truly brought back memories of my own college and sorority days. These experiences seemed on par with my own experiences.

This series also tackles timely societal issues that need to be addressed and addresses them well.

I will be reading the rest of the series in order to read the upcoming release, Ritual by Kandi Steiner.

Rip my heart out, why don't you?!

Ok..the boys and girls of PSU are really going to be the death of me. I'm either going to die of heartache, angst, or too much alcohol by proxy.. Seriously, though..i feel like I should be getting drunk just reading of all these parties. And the storylines?! O..M...G.... I am going to be in serious withdrawals for the next month waiting for Season three. These characters grab you by the throat and won't let go. This is a must read for anyone who loves angst, multiple views and storylines coexisting in the same book, and kickass women who have each other's backs. Seriously..buy this book...now!!!!

Another great season in the Palm South University series.

I‘m still a little shocked about the events that happened in this book. I fell in love with all our characters in season 1 but now I feel like I‘m in the same boat as them.

The love between our female characters is just amazing. I don‘t know how to discribe it, but it really is and feels like a sisterhood that will last through and long after college.

I‘m shipping Adam and Cassie soo hard! If they don‘t end up together I might cry! Also Erin and Bear are so cute together, but I think both of them will end up as friends. I‘m curious to see what comes next wirh every character!
