When chaos descends on the Bewitching Bedlam B&B, Maudlin finds herself at the mercy of Murphy's Law. Everything is going wrong. At first, some of the chaos is just annoying, but then it turns deadly and Maddy finds herself on the wrong side with Essie Vanderbilt, the Queen of the Northwest Vampire Court. Now she must find a way to dispel the hex she's under, before the deadly curse kills again.

Poor Maudlin…after getting her Bed and Breakfast up and running, she finds herself in the middle of chaos. At first, she finds the chaos swirling around her an annoyance but soon it gets quite deadly especially when she is on the black list of a certain vampire queen, Essie Vanderbilt. Now if Maudlin doesn’t find a way to dispel the hex that is on her, she is afraid things will turn even worse for her and those around her.
Yasmine Galenorn’s second installment in her wonderfully funny Bewitching Bedlam series is back in MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM and this time Maddie is facing even more danger than she expected. I love this series so much. It’s fun and quite entertaining. The characters keep the story rolling along rather nicely and I enjoyed finding more about Maddie and the gang. The world building is spectacular and this is an author who is a pro at creating such captivating worlds for readers to get lost within. With a few of my recent reads being so heavy lately, MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM was a breath of much needed laughter and fresh air. It’s a light fun read set in a town full of wacky, magical creatures that left me smiling through the whole book.
Meet Maddie, the owner of the new Bed and Bath Inn in Bedlam. Problems start flying all around her. From Aegis is stuck in bat form, Maddy is finding herself fending off pranks left and right but it gets downright dangerous when the pranks go after those close to her. Now Maddy is trying to figure out who is trying to ruin her and possibly kill her and keep her friends and family from getting caught in cross fire. I love, love, love Maddie. She is a pure delight to my reader senses and I enjoyed her interactions with everyone in the story. The characters are wickedly wonderful and quite a treat to read. They are larger than life and very well written. There was just one little issue I had with one of the characters, Thornton. He wasn’t as fleshed out as the rest of the characters were and detracted my enjoyment from his scenes but overall, even though he wasn’t as complex as the others, it still worked for me. I am hoping to learn more about him, Essie and many other returning characters from the past books.
MAUDLIN’S MAYHEM is a fun paranormal mystery story that will leave you smiling when the last page is read. What I thoroughly enjoyed the most was how this author’s pure enjoyment in writing this story came across in the storyline. It made me happy to see an author enjoy their work as much as Ms. Galenorn seemed to be doing with the Bewitching Bedlam series. If you enjoy lighthearted paranormal stories, then you will enjoy the Bewitching Bedlam series. I can’t wait to see where this author goes next in the series.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement
Maudlin's Mayhem by Yasmine Galenorn is the second full-length novel in the Bewitching Bedlam series. It's a fun series about a witch, a vampire, and a cjinn. Oh my!
Bubba, "Rub mah belleh!" Is a cjinn, a member of the djinn race, in cat form. Bubba has been with Maddy over 300 years. Aegis is her vampire boyfriend, and Maddy is a kick-a$$ witch!
Adventures keep coming, fast and hard, as weird things keep happening to Maddy and her family of friends. Maddy, despite being separated from her support system, tracks down the culprit and saves the day.
Ms. Galenorn has a distinct talent for writing strong female leads, heavy on the wicca, with wild adventures of the supernormal variety. This story is no different.
But that's all I can give this book and series. The characters are 2 demential, I don't love a single one, not like her other world series. Maybe with Fury Bedlam and Sisters spread to thin.
(I received an EBook copy of Maudlin’s Mayhem in exchange for an Honest Review.)
Once Again Yasmine has sucked me in and hasn’t let me go ever since I started reading The Otherworld Series. Falling even more in love with not just her Characters and her world, but with her word’s and the way she turns phrases. my heart literally broke at times and was smoothed over by the action's Maddy took in order to save everyone around her.
Maudlin’s Mayhem has everything I’ve come to expect from Yasmine Galenorn’s novels – main characters I wish I could have as best friends, descriptions of tasty food and creative clothes, funny paranormal happenings, yummy intimate encounters (I appreciate that Ms. Galenorn describes sex in ways that are both realistic and….sexy) and a deeper awareness running through all of it of what it’s like to be human (or not-human, as is the case with most of these characters).
What I mean is that as weird and wobbly and scary as Bedlam (the small town of mostly preternatural beings – from satyrs to witches to vampires to ware-beings – it’s just like any other community, and Ms. Galenorn weaves that into all the books she’s published so far in this setting, showing us what it’s like when some people want to build community and some people want to tear it apart. In Bedlam, magic and politics mix, and the High Priestess of the coven serves on the Town Council. We get to see some of those political inner workings.
But I hadn’t gotten around to reading Bewitching Bedlam, the first novel in this series, or Blood Music, the prequel novella, before this book came out, but I figured I’d go ahead and see how well it stands on it’s own. It doesn’t, or at least, it didn’t for me. Sure, I enjoyed the story, laughed at the funny part, cringed at the scary parts, swooned over Maudlin and Aegis a bit (they’re both smart, sassy, and attractive), but I liked it a lot better once I was fully filled in on the characters, the setting, some of the back-story (there’s still plenty about this world and it’s people we don’t know),. Since Ms. Galenorn’s worlds are usually just as much about the characters as about the plots, it really helps to have the background.
It took me a bit to get into this book. It was a little slow-paced for me at first. Fans of the Chintz and China books, or the Bath and Body books (written under the name India Ink) or even the first 2 Otherworld bbooks) will feel at home with the pacing of this book. If it hadn’t been for the well-written dialogue, off-the-beaten-path characters, and cool setting, I think I would have been bored for the first handful of chapters.
Things really build up in intensity, though, with more mystery, and more danger. I like that this book has more than one moment of danger. There are larger and smaller crises that Maudlin has to deal with, either for herself or for her loved ones. It makes the story feel more realistic. Yeah, I know, it’s paranormal romance, and I’m talking about a witch in love with a vampire and rivals with a satyr as being more realistic. Just go with me, okay? I like to be able to connect with characters in stories.
All the crisis – there’s some heavy duty cursing (of the magical kind) and some surprisingly garden-variety kidnapping (well, sort of garden-variety) is lightened up by those funny paranormal things I mentioned. I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that there’s some, well, unexpected, shape-shifting going on that really got my attention.
I’m excited to see more from Maudlin and her friends. I want to learn more about the things that happened to them in all the centuries they’ve lived. The town of Bedlam is proving to be *really* interesting, and I’m excited to learn more about it as Maudlin’s life becomes more entwined with the community she’s living in. Can’t wait for the novella coming out next month.
Maudlin’s Mayhem by Yasmine Galenorn, is book two in her Bewitching Bedlam series. In Maudlin’s Mayhem we are reunited with Maddy, Sandy, Aegis and Bubba. Things at the Bewitching Bedlam bed and breakfast start off well but chaos quickly descends. Maddy’s bank account gets hijacked first, and of course dealing with the bank for their part in the fiasco is no walk in the park. Then Bubba ends up turning into a very delicious but very insecure human and honestly isn’t handling it well. Maddy manages to literally run into Snow White and her and the seven dwarves end up staying at the Bewitching Bedlam. Things only proceed to get worse when Aegis ends up stuck in his bat form. There is a lot going on and Maddy now needs to figure out what is going on in her life. Someone has cursed her and it’s affecting those around her. Things don’t get any better when her new employee not only ends up dead but Maddy learns he had a strong connection with the vampire queen, Essie. Trouble and danger has descended on Maddy and her B &B and she must quickly find a way to get rid of it before it kills again. Maudlin’s Mayhem engages right from the beginning which I absolutely love from a story. All seems well but then chaos begins cropping up all around her. The author does such a great job weaving this story. There are twists and turns and several surprises that pop up at the right moments. This book is so hard to put down and every time that I had to I was more than eager to pick it back up and continue reading. I loved the surprise moments in certain scenes of this story. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. This story is full of such great characters and I absolutely love them. There isn’t anything that I didn’t like about this book. The characters are so real and very well done. I like that we are seeing different sides of a couple of the characters which really adds to the depth of the story and makes me really excited to read what happens next in this series. I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed it so much. I can tell that the author really enjoyed writing this book because of how well it flows. It’s very well done and if you are a fan of Yasmine Galenorn’s work then you will most definitely enjoy this book as well. So grab a copy and get reading today! I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review.
This is the 3nd book in a new series by Yasmine (counting the prequel), and it is setting up to be as great as her other series. Maddy, AKA Mad Maudlin, is a witch, once a famous Vampire Hunter. Times have changed, and she is the new owner of a Bed & Breakfast, in the town of Bedlam. Her vampire boyfriend Aegis, the resident house ghost Franny, her cjinn Bubba, and of course her bestie Sandy all feature in this adventure. The other town inhabitants and the local Vampire Queen seem to have it out for Maddy once again. She finally figures out that she has had a hex placed on her, and hurries to remove it, (and figure out who did it!) before anyone gets seriously hurt.
The world building is excellent, pacing is spectacular, and the characters and the setting are in full detail with excellent descriptions so I can easily picture what is going on, and what the characters look like, without going into craziness of overdetail. The characters are engaging, the series is fun, yet full of suspense to keep me coming back for more. As always, there is a little bit of adult romance tossed in to keep it spicy. What's not to love?!
This book has left me even more in love with Bubba, and hoping for some more backstory on him in future editions. I am a little annoyed that events seem to take place after the novelette that is not yet published. Of course, it has worked to make me anxious and impatient for the new story, so maybe it was done on purpose!

In the second book of this great series, Maddy is falling from one problem into the next and none of it is her fault. She is trying to keep her family and friends save but also find out who is wanting to hurt her by putting a curse on her. She must deal with old and new characters to find out why someone is after her trying to make her life miserable. We worry with her about her boyfriend Aegis and especially about sweet Bubba who is in deep trouble and needs help fast.
If you read other books by Yasmine Galenorn you already know that her characters develop in every new book of a series and here Maddy is becoming more and more the witch she needs to be in order to deal with everything that is thrown her way.
As always there are fun parts and parts where you worry with the characters and cross your fingers and hope everything turns out well.
This book kept me reading well into the night. I just could not put it down. There was always one more chapter I needed to read, just to know what happens. And as I am a cat lover I was so worried about sweet Bubba. He is so lovable and against my better judgment I think I couldn’t help myself and rub his belly – which could end up in disaster, as he is a Cjinn 😊
So, if you love witches, vampires, werewolves, cjinns, etc. as much as I do you are going to love this book.
Strange things keep happening around Maddy lately. First, she has been clumsy and getting hurt in ways that are just not normal for her including bumping into a strange woman who ends up needing a place to stay for herself and her friends. It's not until Snow White and her 7 Dwarfs show up at the B&B that Maddy realizes who she has opened her Inn to. Then Bubba, her cjinn, turns up in a human form and Aegis is turned into his bat form and unable to change back. Maddy is now convinced that this is more than just strange occurrences and something really is up and it comes as no surprise to find out that she has been hexed. Now she must figure out who has put the hex on her and how to get it off before anything worse happens.
I'm enjoying this series and I like the fact that there are generally red herrings and lots of twists and turns in the stories but that the real solution was visible and not just something thrown in at the last second that was never shown before (hate that!). Now to read the two tie-in short stories which I'm hoping will answer some of the questions I had reading this about what happened during their vacation. I read the order guide and it said to read them after this one but I definitely felt like I was missing some crucial information so maybe reading Blood Vengeance before this would have been better.
Yasmine Galenorn always writes books containing strong independent women. Women who know their place in the world and are happy with it, who have no issues with how they look or whether they are in a relationship. Women who need no one and nothing to complete them and manage to live happy fulfilling lives. Such women are a bit to read about. Maddy and her friend Sandy are two more in that vein, witches and best friends they live on an island full of preternatural people,or creatures depending on your point of view. Mardy runs a bed and breakfast while Sandy owns her own buisness both are successful in what they do and also are never lacking for male companionship, although in book one of this series Mardy meets and gets involved with a vampire she maintains her independence. At the start of this book Mardy has settled into Bedlam and the B&B is doing well except for the fact that Mardy cannot keep a housekeeper longer than a few weeks, cooking and cleaning for the guests is not Maddy's idea of a good time so when the perfect replacement shows up Mardy hires him immediately. At around the same time strange things start to happen to people and pets around Maddy some of which are disturbing and dangerous, turns out someone is out to make trouble for Mardy again and she has to find out who quickly or her best friend Bubba and Aegis may end up dead for real.
Maudlin's Mayhem , Book 2 (not including the Blood Music prequel) in the Bewitching Bedlam series, by Yasmine Galenorn , starts off with a bang. Maddy Gallowglass, co-owner of the Bewitching Bedlam B & B ( along with vampy hot boyfriend Aegis) and High Priestess of the Moonrise Coven, has a hex of a time, literally. When her bank account is hacked, and things start happening to her friends Sandy, Max, Bubba (her cjinn) , herself, Thornton ( new housekeeper) , and Aegis, she suspects something sinister is at play. The problem is that a doozy of a hex that has been placed upon her, and until Maddy can find out who is responsible for placing it, they are all in danger. We see some new and old characters appear in this book, such as Essie Vanderbilt, Vampire Queen of the Northwest, Thornton, a former friend of Essie's , Garrett James, and the Arcanus Nocturni. Who is so mad at Maddy that they would do this? And would they stoop to murder? I thoroughly loved this book, as it combined mystery, paranormal beings, fantasy, and a lot of character building to existing favorites, and I can't wait until the next book to see if some new favorites reappear . It would be incredible to watch them grow, something Yasmine Galenorn is able to do very quickly. Another hit series, in my book ! And Bubba is irresistable !
*Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review*
Maudlin's Mayhem is book 2 of the Bewitching Bedlam series that follows a Bed & Breakfast owner, Maudlin Gallowglass, Maddy to her friends, in her discovery of theft, hurt, confusion and stress. New guests arrive to Maddy's B & B, with questionable intentions, a new employee emerges, and all hell breaks loose. Someone wants to turn Maddy's world upside down by stealing from her, hurting those around her and making her pay, but pay for what? What lengths will they go to to hurt her? Will they stop whoever is causing this turmoil before someone gets hurt or dies? Find out in Maudlin's Mayhem!
I loved this new novel, continuing Maddy's journey into her magic, her friends, and Aegis. There are many angles to this story as someone deliberately steals from Maddy, leaving her high and dry, someone who's intent is to hurt her even through her closest friends. I was a bit disappointed that there was a novella set to take place before Maudlin's Mayhem, but luckily we didn't miss too much. I'll probably backtrack a bit, read the novella when it comes out and reread Maudlin's Mayhem, as it's definitely an amazing book. Bubba's character is so funny and loving, and I do love the romance between Maddy and Aegis. I can't wait for book 3.
I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review Maudlins having a bad hex of a week, literally as she is under a hex. Aegis is stuck in his bat form, she has to hire new help for the B&B, Bubba ends up switching forms, plus a number of other things, including Snow White and her 7 dwarves show up as porn stars. When Maddy hires a new housekeeper she thinks she has solved at least on of her issues but its just the start of events that could take a turn for the worst. Aegis is out of commission and unable to help so it is up to Maddy (with some help from new and old friends) to figure a way out of this mess. I am so in love with this series. It is so much fun! There is mystery, romance, tons of action and so much more. It has everything you could possibly ask for. Yasmine has a way of making her characters seem so real. The interactions between them are very realistic. I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes. I also want to mention the ending of this book. I'm not going to mention any spoilers but I have to say that the ending was so perfect and what Maudlin says resonates with me deeply. Oh and by the way I LOVE that the new character is from Kentucky!!!!!!!
***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and entirely my own review***
So this is Maudlin's second book, and a lot happened in this book. So much bad luck that turned out to be a hex placed on her and those around her. On top of that she was dealing with a greater threat that was making it's presence known now slowly but surely.
In this book Maudlin impressed me, she is beginning to get closer to the witch of legend and myth (Mad Maudlin). Seeing her deal with all the obstacles and doing her best to push through. I look forward to seeing more of her bad ass side, she's sassy and it works but a girl gotta fight (lol) it is also refreshing to see Maudlin regain the witch she once was and I look forward to reading that side of her.
I also could NOT stop laughing at her interaction to seeing what the hex did to her cat Bubba. It was hilarious until it got sad and that was hard to read. It was also good to see how the two of them met. Bubba is definitely the show stealer.
I will admit this series started funny and laid back but it's getting heavier. I am thoroughly excited to see what this cult of vampires will do and what Maudlin will be facing. This series is a promising one, so if you like humor with a slow built to the heavy stuff this is for you to read.
I give Maudlin's Mayhem (book two in the Bewitching Bedlam series) by Yasmine Galenorn, 5 stars.
Maudlin has settled in running the Bewitching Bedlam Bed and Breakfast. She is happy here, in a town that excepts and is run by supernatural beings. She has her best friend and her vampire boyfriend. She is a happy witch.
But not all is well in this quaint little town. Another hotel considers her bed and breakfast competition and they have been feuding for a while now. A woman who looks a lot like a fairytale character gone wrong needs a place to stay. And it seems like bad luck is following Maudlin and her friends. One bad thing after another keeps happening. She doesn’t believe in coincidences, something has to be causing all of this. What is going on? Who is behind it and what is their end game?
This is the first book of the series I have read and I loved it. It has the wonderful writing this author is known for, but the story is like nothing I have seen from her before. It is a bit lighter than some previous works she has done, but I think it’s definitely something she excels at! I fell in love with the characters immediately and the story drew me right in. I hope this series lasts a long time, they already feel like family to me!
This is the second book in the Bewitching Bedlam series, and it was just as good, if not better than, the first book and the prequel. Maddy ends up dealing with some really bad juju in this installment which brings lots of drama to her household, as well as a nasty vampire problem. She handles it awesomely and ends up fixing another problem in the process. The romance element is also escalating with each new story; I can't wait to see where Maddy and Aegis end up. What I'm really excited for though is seeing Maddy come into her leadership of the Moonrise Coven. She's kind of been skating by and flying under the radar, but she has the potential to become a pillar of her community and a super effective coven leader! For all the power and ferocity in her past, she seems to still need a boost to step into the spotlight! I can't wait for the next book in this series to continue the story! All in all, if you want a sexy, exciting, action packed urban fantasy full of magic and girl power, Yasmine is the author for you, and Bewitching Bedlam definitely fits the bill!
I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review.
I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review Ok let's get started! What can go wrong....WILL go wrong for Maddy. Throughout this book I found myself shamefully laughing at all the things happening to her. Then I felt bad because, well....we ALL have those days don't we? At least nothing of mine cost me 50k. With that being said, this book although serious, has a lighter and disasterous tone to it that I find this more of a comic relief for more than half of the book. Aegis isn't in the spotlight as much...as well....he's kinda unable to communicate. Read it and you'll see what I mean. I found this book extremely entertaining and even better, we get to see our character in a different kind of vulnerable position. I honestly don't know If I would have handled the situations...yes as in plural....as well as she did given the circumstances...I would have totally lost my cool. But things come to a head toward the ending, and hopefully we have going forward a peaceful business arrangement. Trust me, this one is really fun to read and you may find yourself thanking your lucky stars...that Murphy's Law hasn't hit you this hard.
*******I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and entirely my own review******
This is such a fun series to read! I had a hard time putting this book down.
Yasmine has an uncanny ability to deliver an urban fantasy mystery that will pull you into her world deeper and deeper! I'm already eagerly anticipating the next book!
Maddy (Maudlin) is a fire witch that owns a Bed and Breakfast on an island in the Pacific Northwest. Bedlam (the Island) is resided by most members of the supernatural community.
The story begins when a large sum of money goes missing out of Maddy's account. A few other problems arise for Maddy, her friends, her feline/Cjinn Budda and her boyfriend/vampire Aegis....it turns out Maddy has been hexed by a very powerful Dirt Witch. But why? Is this part of a bigger plot involving the Vampire Queen of the Pacific Northwest Vampire Court? Does this have to do with the new employee Maddy just hired? Or, does the hex have to do with the fact that the real Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs showed up on Maddy's porch needing a place to stay?
Follow Maddy and her friends as they investigate who-or what-is behind the Dirt Witch's hex....
I really enjoyed this book and a great one to finish the year off with.
This one carries on pretty much after the two short novellas, Blood Vengeance and Tiger Tails, and although you don't need to have read them to read this book, events in Blood Vengeance in particular are mentioned a bit in this one.
When things start to go wrong for Maddy, it seems like a bit of bad luck, but tings soon turn from bad to worse to downright nightmarish! Turns out someone's put a hex on Maddy, her friends and her house, but who was it and why? Throw in some problems with the local vampire queen and Maddy's life is in complete shambles! Luckily for her, she has some great friends to help her every step of the way!
I love these characters and the warm, close friendship bonds they have, even between Maddy and Delia, who are not overly close, there is a warm, relationship. Everyone shows great concern for each other and will do anything they can to help out in this drastic situation! I really did feel for Aegis and Bubba in this book as well, but so glad things worked out well for everyone in the end!
A fun series, that I am definitely going to read the rest of now!
I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.
Yasmine Galenorn has done it again! This is the second book in the Bewitching Bedlam series, and it lives up to its name! Yasmine Galenorn creates a world that you immediately get drawn into. Of course you have to be able to dodge hex's, vampires and try not to fall under the cjinn's spell and rub his belly!! It was a book I didn't want to put down. Maddy is hilarious, and I want to be her best friend. Her boyfriend, Aegis is a vampire and unfortunately gets stuck in his bat form, one of the many problems Maddy has to figure out as well as dealing with all that comes of being the new leader of her covern. Maudlin's Mayhem is a must read, you won't be disappointed. If you have read Yasmine Galenorn's other books, this is a mix between Chintz N China and The Otherworld, both outstanding series. I am looking forward to seeing what mishaps Maddy and the gang get into next
"I received a free copy of this book, and this is a voluntary review." Yasmine has done it again!!! I have been following her work for years now, and there has not been a series that I haven’t fallen in love with. Since going Independent, nothing has changed in terms of her ability to write a story in a world that will suck you in. Maudlin, her Catgyn Bubba, and her sexy vampire boyfriend Aegis face more trouble in the second installment of the Bewitching Bedlam series. In this book, you find out more about some of the key players in Bedlam while Maudlin deals with a new string of crazy events, the least of which is her bank account being hacked and having over $50,000 stolen. If you like fantasy and haven’t read anything by Yasmine Galenorn yet, this is definitely a wonderful series to get started with.
Yasmine Galenorn has the chaos coming from every direction with the second installment of the Bewitching Bedlam series, Maudlin’s Mayhem.
Mandy and friends are finding chaos at the turn of corner and it just keeps coming. A fast moving adventure with many things I didn't see coming. Bubba…….. A good plot within an unique story. Suspense, some super hot sexy moment and few laughs. A good bit of character development and a few more surprises. I am really loving this series .
What I love when I read a Yasmine Galenorn I know I'm getting a story that I get so wrapped up in I can't put it down. Maudlin’s Mayhem is a great addition to the series. I'm very much looking forward to what comes next.
A copy of this title was provided for an honest review. I voluntarily chose to review this title.
•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded, or faint of heart!•••
This series must be read in order. The first book is "Blood Music". The second book is "Bewitching Bedlam". This is the third book. I can't wait to read "Tiger Tails" & "Blood Vengance"!
Maudlin and Aegis are settling into their new life together. The Bewitching Bedlam is doing fairly well, all things considered. They still have to deal with the "competition" badmouthing and trying to sabotage them, but it really is just a nuisance. Being High Priestess takes some getting used to. Then the weird starts hitting the stratosphere. First Snow White and the seven dwarves come seeking rooms... Then Bubba turns human. What is going on in Bedlam? What could be causing all this mayhem? Has her past caught up to her? Or is it her new position? Can she get to the bottom of this before someone is seriously hurt?
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 of the bewitching bedlam series. In this one we find that maddy is not having the best of luck nor is those around her. Between her,her love, sandy bubba and others they learn there's a curse afoot. But who and what type of curse it's is needs to be found out and quickly for bubba's sake. Unfortunately that means maddy will have to play nice with a couple of new and old characters. I love this book and I can't wait for more The main questions in this book are will bubba be ok? Who did this curse and why? And will the curse ever be lifted? If ya wanna know then pick up either the paperback or ebook version of maudlin's mayhem asap! Trust me u won't be disappointed
I did receive a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review. This book is the second book of Maudlin's story. It continues on with her wacky crazy, fun and exciting life. Many things happen within her group of friends, not everything good yet the bad things that happen are just as exciting. Many unexpected things happen and it is a fantabulous story and has an exciting journey. The journey and the troubles that she faces keep you guessing on who the enemy's are and how Maudlin is going to fix them. Was hooked from start to finish and had to make sure I was up to date on the entire series. This is a must read and should definitely be added to your reading list. Also Bubba is awesome.
Another fun, comical and enjoyable supernatural romp from Yasmine. Maddy and trouble seem to go hand in hand, and this time around she finds herself dealing with a nasty hex, vampire schemes, and the challenges of running a coven along with a B&B. This is much lighter in tone than her other works, falling more into the 'supernatural drama' spectrum instead of the action-packed gritty side. There's still the element of gradual world building that Yasmine injects into all her series, and the beginnings of a 'long game' style scenario (I'm not going to spoil that one!) that will no doubt have a large impact on future installments. It's the perfect accompaniment to a lazy autumn afternoon spent curled up in a chair with a cup of tea.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review!
Yasmine Galenorn never ceases to amaze! For anyone wondering if you are like myself and haven't read Maudlin's 1st book no need to worry, Yasmine is excellent at giving just enough backstory so you are not lost but very much intrigued. In book 2 Maudlin finds herself in a stream of "bad luck". Is it a hex, a curse, just a case of nothing going right? Well let's just say a few beloved characters get wrapped up in it as well a d Maudlin trying to figure everything out and keep her B & B going at the same time gives you a book you cannot put down. So come on and join Maudlin and her gang on an adventure no one will soon forget!!!
I thought she couldn't possibly write another series that I would love like I do The Otherworld series but surprise! YG has come out with her Bewitching Bedlam series and right from the start I was hooked. This series is perfect to just get into your comfy pj's, grab your favorite soft blanket and beverage and curl up with your e-reader for the evening. As the character's and their relationships grow with each book, so grows my addiction to the series. So I stand corrected Yasmine Galenorn, you can and have written a series that I love as much as Otherworld.
The Bewitching Bedlam series is an enjoyable, but lackluster read. The world building is superb (as I have found with the one other series I've read by Yasmine Galenorn), but the characters are very 2 dimensional. Maudlin, or Maddie, as she is known in this century, can be rather abrasive to the point of being unlikeable. The plot line was rushed, so much that the conclusion to the mystery didn't even move the overall plot of the series forward.
Hopefully the next one is better, and worth the $4.99 price point. (I know she's an established author who is self publishing now, but $4.99 for just over 200 pages is pricey).
